Giving Your Children A Strong Start

Giving Your Children A Strong Start

All parents know just how stressful it can be to try and keep your kids going in the best way possible as they are growing up. Attempting to give them the best start in life that you can can sometimes feel like an uphill struggle, but it is a struggle which you are probably never going to put down. If you care about your children, you will know that allowing them the best start possible is incredibly important. But knowing how to do that is something else altogether. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the things that you can do and the areas on which you can focus to give your children a much better start:

Education: If there is anything that you want to intensely focus on for your kids, it is education. Knowing that your children are receiving the best education that they can means that you know that they are going to do well in life. But being able to ensure a decent education is not actually all that simple or easy to do. As it happens, however, you can do a number of things to make sure that it is vastly improved. One of the biggest things to do is to encourage their education in the home as well as sending them to school when they are old enough. And, it’s never too early to research your options for when that time comes. Simply enter a search for “pre k san antonio” (or your local area) and look for reviews from other parents or schedule a tour to find the best fit for your child.

Of course, you don’t have to spend every spare moment teaching your kids at home, but you can help them to understand things better with your assistance. Focus on the main subjects, which they will need for a strong education, and consider options such as the Effortless English Club if you find that they need some further help. Focusing on education early ensures that your children will be much better off right from the start.

As your child continues their educational journey, you might find that they have a special proficiency for a certain subject like Language Arts or math. If your kiddo is up to improving those skills even more, learning camps, an intensive english language course (or their preferred subject), or a tutor could be most beneficial. Just remember that enhancing your child’s knowledge will come through encouragement and support as opposed to pressure.

People Skills: Education is important, but it isn’t everything. People skills are highly relevant if you want your children to do well in life, as they will be useful in all sorts of situations throughout life, right from the very start. People skills can’t be forced – but what you can do is make sure that your child is given plenty of opportunity to practice them by allowing them to spend lots of time with other children, and even with adults whom you trust. This will give them the chance to develop their people skills young, and that will help them out majorly in the long run.

Cool Kids!

Confidence: The ability to carry oneself throughout life with a confident attitude is one of the most valuable things of all, and the good news is that it can be instilled in your child just like anything else. Confidence is not something that you either have or do not have – it is a skill which can and should be learned. The best way to develop confidence in your child is to push them. Put them into situations which are slightly out of their comfort zones, until they are more and more comfortable with being themselves in those different situations.

How Much Money Can You Really Make In Your Spare Time?

Standard
How Much Money Can You Really Make In Your Spare Time?

It is only the very privileged few among us who are able to say that they are happy with their income. For most of us, we can be happy enough – but that doesn’t mean that we wouldn’t accept an additional boost or two if it were to come along. As a result, the industry for providing people with a means of making money “in their spare time” is a booming one. It always has been, to an extent, with catalog sales and the ability to sell products to friends and family. However, there is no doubt that this is an industry that has found its home amidst the wild west of the internet.

Have a quick browse for money making ideas online and your first impression will probably be sheer horror. How can you possibly figure out which one of these is going to work for you? If you’re a keen gamer, you may be interested in sites and apps that allow you to play games for real money so that you will know you will be having fun with your time, as well as boosting your finances. However, while there are plenty of sites offering various methods to make money online, many of the options are versions of the same thing. Sites offer points for simple tasks such as completing surveys or watching videos. When these points (different sites may call their ‘points’ different names) accrue to a certain level, then you can redeem them for either gift card vouchers or money.

Upon viewing the sums available, a lot of people will wonder if it’s worth it. So maybe it’s time to examine this closer and see if it’s a viable way of bringing in extra cash for you – by examining the pros and cons. Because who doesn’t love a good pros and cons list?!

PRO: You Can Do It When You Want, For As Long As You Want

There’s no boss, there’s no management, there’s no scheduled hours that you have to be present for. You have got complete control of what you do and when you do it. If you don’t need as much extra cash one month, you can give yourself the month off. If you need more, then you can knuckle down that little bit harder. The flexibility makes these sites incredibly attractive.

CON: You Have To Control Your Expectations

The key to making money from these sites is, according to this review, managing your expectations. Don’t think that you’re going to be able to quit your job and work from home in your pajamas all day – it’s not going to happen. You have to have a robust grip on what’s happening and how much money you’re going to earn, or you could find yourself bitterly disappointed. Super bitterly disappointed. Ugh, I love that word.

PRO: You Don’t Have To Qualify

If you wanted to, you could head on over to your computer and start working right now. There’s no interview, no qualification process, nothing of that nature at all. In fact, just being you is all that’s required, especially when it comes to filling out surveys about your opinions.

Taking a survey, perhaps?

CON: The Returns May Not Be Worth It

If you calculate the amount of time you spend on these sites and then factor in your hourly rate, it might not be pleasant reading…Seriously, I have spent a half hour doing a survey that claims to take ten minutes and received a meager fifty cents from it. It was a BITTER disappointment!!

PRO: It’s (Almost) Passive Income

However, you can keep in mind that these tasks can be done while you’re occupied with something else. For sites that allow you to earn points from watching videos, you can just play the videos in the background while you are making your evening meal. The surveys may take more attention, but you can do them from your phone while you’re waiting for the bus. Being able to pick and choose when you participate can be really helpful.

CON: Sites Can Shut Down Unexpectedly

Let’s say you join a site and accrue a huge amount of points. You’re waiting to reach a certain cash out threshold, which will allow you to obtain a voucher to a certain financial value. This is a dangerous way of doing it. These sites don’t owe you anything; if they suddenly fold or go offline, then all of your hard-earned points are going to vanish with them. There’s not a chance that you’ll get them back.

So, be safe and smart with how you use your points. Cash out as soon as you meet the minimum payment threshold, even if you’d get more for your points by hanging on to reach a higher voucher target. It’s better to actually have the money in your hand than relying on the site to keep it safe for you!

PRO: The “Big” Sites Are Well Established, With Users You Can Talk To

If you’re confused about anything that you find regarding the website, you can talk to other users. Most sites will have some kind of forum system or their social media pages will allow users to connect with one another. And, more often than not, there will be someone to explain things further on any questions that you might have.

So online money making websites might not be the best way to earn some extra cash BUT if you control your expectations and manage your time wisely, you could end up with some gift cards and money for the movies in your pocket!

Yearning for Learning: Why You Should Never Stop Studying

Yearning for Learning: Why You Should Never Stop Studying

Regardless of what stage of life you are currently at, learning is something that you should always be doing. A lot of people think of studying as something that is just for kids or young people at college, but the truth is, is that there are a whole range of advantages that will open themselves up if you commit your life to learning. As well as being a more well-rounded person, you will also constantly be developing new skills that you never know when will come in handy.

Whether you have lessons in something, take an online college course with Find Your Context, or study independently, here are just a few of the reasons that you should commit to lifelong learning:

You Will Become Happier: Studying can be very hard and frustrating, but there is nothing like the feeling that you are actually getting smarter. Even better, is when you can start putting these skills into practice and impressing people with what you have learned. There is nothing like reaching a goal that you have set for yourself, so you should make sure that you are constantly striving for bigger and better things. Having something to work towards is a great way to focus your mind and give you the feeling that you are always accomplishing something. Personal development should get you on the fast track to inner peace and happiness.

You Will Become Irreplaceable at Your Job: If you can show that you bring valuable new skills to your company, you are much more likely to impress your bosses. Not only will this keep you in your job role, but you should also start jumping to the front of the queue when it comes to promotion time. If you do decide that it is time to move onto new pastures, the more skills that you have, the more likely it is that you will end up landing yourself the job of your dreams. The rapid rise of technology means that more people are becoming replaceable; continual learning ensures that you won’t be one of them.

You Will Become More Cultured and Knowledgeable: If you stop learning at a certain point, that is exactly where you will become fixed. A person who is well-read and has numerous different skills finds it easy to carry a conversation on a whole range of different topics with ease. The more you learn, the more avenues of your mind you are opening up and the more well-rounded you will become as a person. Rather than making it seem like you are trying too hard to impress people with your knowledge, people will naturally start turning to you as a source of wisdom and excellent conversation.

Books on books on books

You Will Become More Passionate: The pursuit of knowledge is a major passion in itself, but the more you learn about different topics, the more passionate you will become about them. You may even end up discovering things that you love that you would never have thought of before. Try to be broad with your learning so that you don’t become too fixed on a single area and you will truly get the most out of expanding your horizons.

Is There a ‘Best Way’ to Read?

Is There a ‘Best Way’ to Read?

Reading is one of life’s great pleasures. This is probably something that you already know; that’s why you’re on this blog! But, is it true that there are right and wrong ways to do it? This probably isn’t so true when it comes to fiction, especially as fiction reading culminates in a very subjective experience. But when it comes to reading nonfiction, there’s certainly a strong argument to be made that there are good ways to read it and bad ways to read it.

How is this possible? Well, it’s worth remembering that nonfiction – aside from the likes of self-help books and autobiographies – exist in order to educate the reader. And there are ways of reading that will help you absorb and retain more information. Most people seem to forget the majority of what they read – which isn’t great if you’re reading non-fiction for a class, right?

We’re going to take a quick look at the best ways to read a nonfiction book!

O.M.G!

Skimming: Some of you may be wondering why the heck “skimming” would be suggested! Isn’t that precisely what you’re supposed to avoid? Well, if you’re skimming the entire book instead of reading it properly, then yes. But if you skim a chapter of a book first, and then read it properly, then you’re giving your brain a head start with the information. Your brain will retain a lot of the basic information and themes from a quicker glance than you might expect.

Never Read Without a Pencil: Don’t be so particular about your books that you’re afraid to take notes in them! You should take the time to write notes about the material in the margin, as well as underline (or draw a line in the margins next to) sections that you feel are especially important. This can also help you take note of parts of the book that you want to investigate further, in case you initially find it a little confusing or even doubt the veracity of the claim.

A million dollars to whoever knows what book that is! 😉

Make an Effort to Memorize: In general, reading is fantastic for exercising your memory. That’s just one of the top 10 reasons why reading is important. But that doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t actually put work into committing something that you read to memory. The simple fact that you’re reading isn’t going to mean that you’ll automatically remember it in the future! The best way to do this is to take what makes memory tick and apply that to reading. Psychologists believe that memory is built from three components: impression, association, and repetition. Apply these to your reading and see how it helps.

#knowledgeispower

Recite or Read Out Loud: Finally, one of the best ways to recall what you’ve read is to speak that information. You could try introducing someone else to that information by telling them about what you’ve read in conversation. Just make sure that you’re with someone with an interest in the given subject! Something else that you can try is simply reading passages out loud. This may seem time-consuming, but it’s effective. You may even want to record yourself reading out loud and listen to the sound file repeatedly instead of listening to music during your reading break.

Not only can reading aloud improve your memory retention of the content you read, but it can be a whole lot of fun to try using different voices for characters. Manga like return of the shattered constellation is a great place to start and you could even invite your friends to read along too. Whatever you choose to read, it will take book club meetings to a whole new level. You can perfect meaningful passages with your friends to perform and then open the floor to discussions and other renditions.

Add Some Luxury to Your Life Without Breaking The Bank

Add Some Luxury to Your Life Without Breaking The Bank

Everyone, myself included, wants a little luxury in their lives. And most of us feel like we deserve it. Actually making it happen in a way that’s affordable is not so easy, though. If you want the best, you usually have to pay the price for it. That’s hardly ideal, but that’s the way it is. Or is it? These are some tricks and tips that you can make use of if you want to add some luxury to your life without going broke in the process:

Try Being a Secret Shopper: The great thing about being a secret shopper is that you get to get your hands on luxury goods and do interesting and luxurious things without paying for them. Secret shoppers work for brands that want to get better and find out how their customers experience things. They go into shops or use services to see how real customers are treated, and whether or not the service that they get is good enough. They can buy luxury clothes, take flights to great destinations, and stay in top hotels. If you can get work as a secret shopper, you will definitely be adding some luxury to your life!

Learn New Cooking Skills & Create Your Own Gourmet Meals: Many people think that a luxury lifestyle has to include going out and eating at the very best restaurants. But that doesn’t actually have to be the case. You can just as easily eat at home and make food fit for kings with your own two hands. You can then invite friends and family members around and show everyone what you’re capable of. There are plenty of cooking tutorials and books out there that will help you to improve your cooking skills. Before long, you’ll be preparing gourmet meals without the restaurant premium prices and the stuffy suit and tie.

Fancy stuff!

Only Buy Luxury Items When You Can Get a Deal: If you really want to buy luxury items but can’t afford to, you will just have to be patient and a bit more clever. That’s how you can get discounts and better prices for the things that you want. Waiting for these deals and discounts to emerge can be frustrating, but your patience will be rewarded eventually. But, as you can see, things like this lord and taylor coupon can be found online easily enough. Keep looking out for the luxury brand coupons that are relevant to you, and make use of them when you find them.

Rent Luxury Fashion Items for Special Occasions: This is an option that many people don’t even think to consider. Renting luxury clothing items for special occasions is perfect because it means that you can wear the things you want without spending large sums of money. Let’s face it; many of the things that you buy for special occasions only get worn once or twice so renting definitely makes sense, anyways, and it cuts the costs dramatically. Some people only ever rent clothes when it comes to finding an outfit for a big event or family get-together.

Store bought or rented dress?!

What Dangers Lurk At Work?

What Dangers Lurk At Work?

We should all be aware of the fact that our employer is, in large part, responsible for our well-being at work. If there’s a risk that they could have protected us from and they failed to, then they are to be held responsible. But it’s not all about the fires that break out and the slipping hazards that people fall prey to. If you’re concerned that your workplace is somehow affecting your health, consider some of the more invisible dangers:

Know When Stress Gets Unhealthy: We’ll start with one of the most common risks of any workplace. Stress, some would say, is a natural part of working life. You have to be able to cope under pressure. That’s not to be disputed. However, that doesn’t mean that employers have carte blanche to overload you with environmental factors that can push stress into unreasonable levels. Employers need to be aware of the effects that too much overtime, too many regular night shifts, traumatic workplace events, and overcrowded workloads can have on the employee. Make no mistake. Your mental well-being is also their responsibility, not just the physical.

The thing about stress is that it doesn’t need to come from one big thing. It could be the result of prolonged exposure to a hectic work environment, not necessarily being on night shifts, but just having no time to breathe at work is enough. While you may think that this is just until a project is over, or it’s just until the next holiday season, or whatever other excuse you are using, it doesn’t mean it has no effect on your health. High stress for a prolonged period of time can lead to chronic conditions, such as high blood pressure or ringing in the ears, known as tinnitus. The risks of high blood pressure are obvious to everyone. But did you know that persistent ringing in the ears can affect your hearing health permanently?

Beware of Older Environments: The actual building that you’re working in can sometimes be a danger all in itself, especially if you’re working in an older building. The risk is fast disappearing from the world, but asbestos can still be found in many properties and is a cause of a particularly dangerous form of cancer. It’s why you should select only the best attorney to represent cases involving mesothelioma. But it’s best to have your employer perform a thorough check on the property if you’re concerned with the age of it, first. Lead paint is another hallmark of older buildings that still hasn’t been completely eradicated.

lurk1

Office crush?!

Get Up and Move: This is partly on you, of course, but if you’re working in a job that involves sitting at a desk or standing at a counter for most of the day, you need to be aware of the risks it poses to your posture, back, and joints. Repetitive strain injury and back pain are not uncommon and can have lifelong repercussions. Sitting is becoming the new smoking, as they say. But you can work to fight against the effects. For instance, ask your employer to give you more opportunities to get up. You should spend five minutes every hour, at least, in a different posture and you can use that time to do errands for the office. But there are also furniture choices such as ergonomic chairs or adjustable desks that allow for sitting or standing that you could ask your employer to acquire.

A Breath of Fresh Air: The indoor air quality of a lot of businesses is not acceptable. When it gets visible to the point that you can see dust bunnies often in the air or a buildup of debris around the ventilation, demand an air quality test from the employer. Failing to consider the air you breathe can lead to breathing conditions like asthma or cause attacks in those who already suffer from them.

There are a lot of ways that your employer can ensure that any risk of the workplace is being dealt with. However, you shouldn’t always assume that they haven’t done so out of laziness or greed. Talk to them about your concerns and ask them to act on it. If they fail to, then that’s when you should consider getting legal involvement.

In The Right Place: The Things You Should Prioritize When Relocating Your Family

Standard
In The Right Place: The Things You Should Prioritize When Relocating Your Family

Moving can be incredibly hard for one person, not to mention a whole family. There are a variety of reasons as to why someone might like to move their family elsewhere, from dissatisfaction with the local schools, to affordability, or simply just needing more space, sometimes it’s best to take the plunge and start drawing up an ideal new life for your closest and most loved.

This can feel like a gargantuan task. If you don’t have an area in mind for a career or other family members, how do you choose the best area out of a seemingly endless list? There are a few items to consider before fully making that choice:

Transport: This is a big one. Not only do you have to assess if you’re going to have a convenient time traveling outside of your new nest, but you need to plan ahead. Imagine your children are five or even ten years older than they are now. Can they access their friends with relative ease? Are they able to make it to town to have a reasonable chance of earning money at a part time job? Try and look back to your childhood, what was important to you at that point in your life? In that self-searching exercise, you might find things that surprise you.

A good way to reassure yourself that this point is taken care of is scheduling a practice run around the area where you go to view your potential new house. Driving around and figuring out where everything is can give you a valuable understanding that can save you future headaches. If you have the funds and the time, consider allocating a few days to explore the new area while staying at a hotel or B&B.

Additionally, how easy is it to move your belongings there? Getting a quote from moving companies can also be worthwhile at this stage.

Opportunities: This is the second half of the earlier point about imagining your children’s future. Do they have ease of access to jobs? How are the schools rated in the local educational authorities inspection reports? Prior to making a decision, it’s a wise idea to tour the schools in the area you are considering. To get started, simply enter a search for “lake city fl private schools” (or the area of your move) to begin weighing your options. Public and online schools should be taken into account as well. If you’re going somewhere to relocate for a career, this still needs to be kept in mind. Adding a few miles to your commute could be worth getting into a better school’s catchment area in the long run!

When your move involves a relocation to another state or country, you are not going to know the best schools, hospitals, or opportunities off the top of your head. This would be an excellent time to work with a realtor as they can give you the ins and outs of the area you will be moving to. To get started, simply enter a search for “Lake Arrowhead real estate” (or the area you are moving to). The fact of the matter is that you might not be able to go back and forth to your new location to get to know it better so the help from an excellent agent will make things much easier.

Locals: This is a less measurable resource, but figuring out how the locals interact with each other can be quite important. Perhaps going to a cafe and getting a fix on how you’re greeted and how people interact can be enlightening. Of course, take this with a pinch of salt, you never know who’s had a bad day. Try striking up a conversation with a few people at the market in town and see if anyone’s receptive. You never know, you might be pleasantly surprised!

Facilities: It’s also important to make sure that you have access to the right facilities in the area you move to. Not only does that mean having local shops and amenities, but having access to the services you need. With an app like Care.com, you can find elderly care, child care, or even pet care. So make sure to check out what’s available nearby, to ensure that you have the right people around to support you.

Crime Rate: You can find the crime rate of a local area online. This is important for your peace of mind and overall safety of the family.

Price: Last but arguably the most important is the price. How affluent is the area? What are the surrounding houses like? Can you expect your house value to improve? Is a higher startup cost worth the surroundings? This is a highly subjective value that will be different for everyone who moves, so take the time to weigh the pros and cons, while offsetting them against the price.

Best of luck to anyone moving house! This is an exciting time for you to redefine how your future will be. Make the most of it! 🙂

Why Does My Shower Take Forever To Heat Up?

Standard
Why Does My Shower Take Forever To Heat Up?

If you’re like most people, you probably set your alarm to leave just enough time to get up, have a quick but warm shower, get dressed, and then out the door and on your way to work. If you have days where you have to spend ages waiting for your shower to heat up, you’ll know how annoying this can be. Here are the most common reasons for your water taking forever to heat up:

Your Shower’s Far Away From your Water Heater: Most homes have a single heater, with a network of piping that takes the heated water to various fixtures around the house. Depending on the size of your home, hot water may have a long way to go before it comes out of your shower head. Remember that plumbing doesn’t travel in a straight line, so if there is 50 feet of distance between the heater and a fixture, it’s typical for 60 to 70 feet of piping to connect the two. If this is the issue, then unfortunately you’re pretty screwed. The only way to get around it would require a large and expensive bit of renovation that simply isn’t worth it.

Your Pipes Drain Heat from the Water: The colder the pipes are, and the denser the material, the more heat they’ll draw from the material, slowing down the time it takes for the water to heat up to a comfortable temperature. When they’re not being used, the pipes leading from the heater to the shower become cold, especially if they’re exposed at any point in your home. Furthermore, heavier piping, made of materials like copper, can retain more heat than commonly used materials such as CPVC. This, the outside pressure, and whether the pipes are insulated or not, can all have a major effect on how long your water takes to get hot. If you think that this is the issue, consider wrapping your pipes with heat tape or a similar insulating material.

If you suspect that your lack of hot water is an issue with the pipes that insulation can’t fix, it is much better to use emergency plumbing services as opposed to trying the DIY route. Making a repair without the proper skill set can result in an even more costly problem.

shower1

Public Domain Pictures

Flow Rate is Too Low: The lower the flow rate on your shower head, or any other fixture for that matter, the longer it will take for the water to warm up. Flow rate, as you’ve probably guessed, refers to the amount of water that can pass through the shower head at any given time. This is measured in GPM, which stands for gallons per minute. When your shower has a low flow rate, it will take longer for it to force out any leftover, cold water that’s left sitting in the pipes. Unless your shower head was installed in the nineties, you probably have a flow rate of around 2.5 GPM, but newer ones can be even lower. If you find that your shower head is a low-flow model, you may be able to fix the issue by getting a high flow shower head. Just remember that this is going to be less conservative with your water, meaning that you’ll have higher bills and a less eco-friendly morning routine.

If you’re sick of getting hypothermia just to leave the house on time, we hope this post has been a big help! 🙂

The Eyesight Plight: Are You Damaging Your Vision?

Standard
The Eyesight Plight: Are You Damaging Your Vision?

Eyesight is pretty useful, right? So it’s a shame that so many of us are doing things that actually damage our eyesight on a daily basis. Here’s a quick guide to the most common ways that people harm their vision in the long term:

Not taking breaks from the screen: People will no doubt have told you at some point that sitting too close to the TV will damage your eyes. It was probably a parent. There’s no hard evidence that this is the case, but there is certainly a correlation between the time you spend focusing on a screen and the eventual degradation of the eyes.

It’s not so much to do with your proximity to the screen as it is how long you’re spending looking at the screen without breaks. When you look at a screen, you’re giving your eyes quite a workout. Not only that, but people tend to blink much less frequently when they look at screens. So make sure that you take a break for a few minutes every fifteen to twenty minutes.

eyes1

Break time!

Inadequate protection from the sun: It’s getting sunny out, now that winter is behind us. But it’s okay, because you just picked up a $5 pair of sunglasses from a nearby corner store, meaning that you don’t have to squint as much to get a good look at your surroundings. Unfortunately, a good pair of sunglasses is a little more complex than simply putting a black, shady overlay over your vision.

The sun’s rays need to actually be deflected or softened properly before reaching your eyes, which isn’t something cheap sunglasses usually do. Not only this, but your eyes may require sunglasses with particular specifications, same as with regular glasses. Picking the right sunglasses isn’t as simple as you might think, but it’s definitely necessary if you want to protect your eyesight in the long run.

When you are picking out a new pair of sunglasses, it’s so important to pick a pair that compliments the shape of your face. This will ensure that your eyes have all around coverage for protection from the sun. It can be helpful to try several different styles to find the right fit before purchasing in store or online. For example, if you have a larger face shape, then you will know to look for larger oversized size sunglasses online or in store. The best fit for you will offer the best protection.

eyes2

Get sunglasses stat!

Sleep deprivation: When people think about sleep deprivation, they usually think about… well, torture. They think about people forcing others to stay awake so that they feel dizzy, ill, and in severe danger. They don’t tend to imagine sleep deprivation as something they may actually be doing to themselves!

The fact is that most of us don’t get as much sleep as we really need. Among a plethora of other problems this exacerbates – stress, depression, skin problems, a degraded immune system – it also affects your eyes in big ways. Your eyes need to relax, and sleep is what gives eyes that needed relaxation. A big part of the headache people often get when they don’t have enough sleep is due to eye strain.

eyes3

This kid needs to catch some Zs!

Contact errors: More people than ever are using contact lenses. They’re amazing things, but a lot of people use them in ways that end up damaging their eyes in the long run. Thankfully, most of us know not to wear them when we go to sleep, but there are plenty of people out there who either ignore this advice or simply forget! Make sure you take them out before bed.

Not only that, but you need to take them out before submerging yourself in water. Pools, baths, showers, hot tubs – if your contacts make, well, contact with that water, it will pick up and retain a bunch of bacteria. #YUCK
