Spring Cleaning: It’s Never Too Early To Start!

Spring Cleaning: It’s Never Too Early To Start!

Although spring time feels like it’s just around the corner, we still have a while to go until moderate temperatures and beautiful flowers blooming. However, it is never too early to start some spring cleaning to breathe some freshness into your home after a long and claustrophobic almost year of living during a pandemic. I, myself, did a fair bit of pre-spring cleaning during a random day off last week and once I was done, the atmosphere in my apartment felt much more relaxed from pecking away at the clutter. I plan on utilizing the following mental bullet points I came up with as I continue to clean up my place:

Get Prepared:

This may seem like a no brainer to have all of the necessary supplies handy to employ in your cleaning but, sadly, it’s not for me because I always forget to buy them when I’m grocery shopping! Trust me, your motivation to clean will quickly dissipate when you realize you don’t even have a sponge. Prior to your cleaning day, make sure you have everything you will need. Whether this be renting a dumpster bin through Bins Toronto for a massive haul away or picking up all of the products to deep clean your bathroom with, it’s better to do it beforehand. This way, you won’t be scrambling (Or completely not want to clean!) on your planned spring cleaning day.

Work In Sections:

Lighten the mood of the overwhelming dread that comes with saying “I’m going to clean the house today” to “I’m going to clean the living room today”, instead. Breaking your cleaning process up into sections will make it much less daunting of a task. You will also be able to really deep clean if you work room by room as opposed to a lighter cleaning all over. Before I did my pre-spring cleaning, I decided that I wanted to put all of  my laundry away and clean the kitchen and coffee table that were both very cluttered. I set an achievable cleaning goal and I felt good about the fact that I spent the extra time to do it the best I could.

Providing individual attention to each room will make your entire house feel more open, lighter, and relaxed.

Make It Fun:

Cleaning is hard work but it doesn’t have to be a totally miserable process! I always seem to get my best cleaning done when I have music playing. Then, not only am I cleaning but I am also starring as lead vocals, back up vocals, and guitar in all of my favorite songs. Hey, whatever works! Whether it be listening to music, motivating yourself with Starbucks, or dictating your memoirs – do what you can to make cleaning an, if not enjoyable, than slightly less awful of a chore for you.

Starting your spring cleaning early will make it feel like your house fast forwarded into April and, I don’t know about you, but that sounds great to me!

Simple Tips To Improve Your Mornings

Simple Tips To Improve Your Mornings

Hello! Every day seems like twenty-four more hours of the exact same thing: Wake up, work, relax, repeat. It can be hard to spring out of bed every day with a pep in your step when things are so monotonous but that doesn’t mean you can’t try. Starting your morning out strongly means that you have a better chance of keeping the momentum going all day, which can definitely help improve a blah mood! To get your day going on the right foot, keep the following in mind:

Don’t hit the snooze:

No one is more guilty of hitting the snooze button than me but I really am trying to work on this bad habit! Hitting the snooze button, even for just five minutes will already be pushing your morning back which makes the pre-work rush even more frantic. As soon as your alarm goes off, shrug off your blankets and get yourself moving. If you are feeling sleep deprived, it’s better to go to bed earlier than bank on those extra five to ten minutes every morning that leave you scrambling around the house so you can leave for work on time.

Have something to eat:

Some people are just not breakfast people and that’s okay – no one is saying you need an elaborate breakfast spread every morning. But, it’s important to try eating a little something before you start your day. We need the extra energy to help get us through until lunch time and your morning is really going to drag if all you can think about is how hungry you are. Have yogurts or breakfast bars handy at home so you can have a quick bite before work. On the weekends, there is nothing better than brunch with friends. Quaint restaurants like The Black Penny make for a perfect spot to chat away and enjoy a great meal.

Complete your normal morning routine:

I’m sure all of our morning routines have changed drastically since the start of the pandemic since there really is nowhere to be that requires us to get spruced up. I, myself, have tumbled into an unending cycle of leggings and hoodies. But, there is just something about completing your full morning routine, even with nowhere to be, that hits different. This might mean applying a bit of makeup, styling your hair, or shaving. Whatever it is, give it a shot. It will bring back a touch of normalcy to your day and it will be nice to feel totally work ready again.

Prepare things the night before:

Whether this be making your breakfast or lunch, prepping your paper work, or readying your outfit, it’s always better to do these things the night before. Leaving all of these random additional tasks for your work morning will only add time and stress as you start your day. Plus, if you do everything that you can to already be ready the night before, then you can hit the snooze button without it having such a negative impact! 😀

The tips above are all easy changes that you can start incorporating into your morning routine immediately so you can always wake up on the right side of the bed!

Are you a morning or night person? When do you normally get up in the morning? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

3 Ways To Prepare Your Home For Warm Weather

3 Ways To Prepare Your Home For Warm Weather

If you are looking forward to spring coming around, you aren’t alone. The past year has been a challenge to say the least, but one thing we can guarantee is that the spring and summer will come around again. These seasons encourage us to get outdoors, enjoy fresh air, and generally have a better outlook on life.

One thing that many people underestimate is how much your household will change as the seasons roll on. Many of us have spent more time than ever at home over the past year due to the coronavirus; although vaccinations are in sight, we can expect to still spend more time indoors in 2021. For this reason, it is crucial to prepare your home for the warm weather so you can stay comfortable and happy while isolating inside!

Here are three ways to prepare your home for warm weather:

Upgrade Your Air Conditioning:

If you live in a location that gets super hot in the summer months, now is the time to act when it comes to getting an air conditioning service. Chances are, the schedules of air conditioning companies are going to fill up quick and you will not want to be left waiting when summer hits. Air conditioning helps you, your pets, kids, and guests to stay cool indoors when the temperatures begin to rise.

How do you upgrade or fix your air conditioning? If you don’t have air conditioning, you should contact a specialist supplier who will give you a quote and install the HVAC in your property. If you have an air conditioner that doesn’t work, or has issues such as the air conditioner not removing humidity, contact your local HVAC specialist for a repair.

As summertime approaches, be sure to monitor your air conditioning unit closely. Any signs you can find that point to it not working properly should be handled immediately to prevent it from getting worse and more expensive. Being prompt will also ensure an appointment will be available before schedules fill up. Take the time to search for “AC repair in Lynnwood” (or your local area) and take note of a few trustworthy companies should you not be able to book an appointment with your first option.

Plant Seeds In The Garden:

If you have a space outdoors to call your own, you should start thinking about how you want it to look and feel in the spring and summer. Planting seeds in your garden as the spring starts to emerge means that they will be in full bloom by summertime.

You could plant a flower bed, a vegetable garden, or even an herb garden! The possibilities are endless when it comes to creating a beautiful green space on your property. Not only does planting seeds create a lovely garden, but it can be highly therapeutic and soothing for a stressed mind. We could all use a little bit of tranquility in our lives, so create it right there in your backyard.

Change Your Thermostat Gradually:

It might seem like a small change, but altering your thermostat gradually can help you create a cool, comfortable atmosphere in the home. Many people forget to do this until they are sweating buckets and opening all of the windows to compensate! In these scenarios, turning the thermostat down multiple degrees all at once can make your home feel drafty and chilly. That’s why a gradual decline is the way to go. Get ahead and gradually change your thermostat as the temperatures outdoors start to rise. Remember that it is a good idea to try this method as early as the weather allows should you need air conditioning repair. These services book up quickly as warmer weather gets nearer and you don’t want to be without cool air on the first sweltering day of the season!

Pandemic Worthy New Year’s Resolutions

Pandemic Worthy New Year’s Resolutions

Hello! I, personally, never make New Year’s Resolutions. But, that doesn’t mean that I can’t help you come up with yours! I’m sure it feels difficult to set goals when leaving the house isn’t the best option so how about some ideas that you can accomplish from the comfort of home? Like the following:

Doing workout videos:

If losing weight is one of your goals, then there are a plethora of work out videos online that you can do from your living room. From yoga and Zumba to simple stretches, there is sure to be something that works for you. Maybe some of the trainers at your local gym even have classes recorded! Start with one or two classes a week and continue adding on from there once you feel ready. Hey, just one half hour class is an awesome achievement if it’s something you’re not used to. And Netflix isn’t going anywhere, I promise. 🙂

Caring for indoor plants:

If you want to improve on your green thumb, try caring for some indoor plants until it gets warm enough to garden outdoors. Not only will they beautify your space but they will help clean the air as well as give you something productive to do. Check out Pinterest and create a photo worthy succulent garden. Or grow some herbs indoors to use while you test out new recipes. It feels good to take care of a plant and help it grow and it will be exciting to track its progress every day.

Scheduled video chats:

The COVID-19 pandemic has meant that family and friends do not get to see each other as often as before. If this is something that you have been down about, then pencil in scheduled video chats with those you miss. It is the next best thing to hanging out in real life and it feels nice to have something to look forward to marked in your calendar. I live for my FaceTime dates with my besties and this reminds me that I have to schedule some calls, myself!

Fostering/adopting a pet:

If you have always wanted a furry, scaley, or feathery friend to keep you company, then there is no better time than the present – especially if you are working from home. Do your research and visit a local animal shelter or rescue organization for your new best friend. If you are not ready for the full time commitment of a new pet, then fostering is also a great and much appreciated option.

If you love animals but cannot commit to having a pet, you can also help local shelters by providing old blankets or towels, food, and toys. Organize a community drive and help make a difference.

Work on a new/old hobby:

As always, the New Year is the best time to learn a new hobby or get reacquainted with an old one. Set aside a half hour every day or few days to work on a hobby that is fun for you. It’s impossible to be good at something overnight but the improvements that you will make with steady practice will help motivate you to keep working at it. Learn a new language, paint that picture from a tutorial, or try your hand at Photoshop. Practice makes perfect and by 2022 you will be amazed at how far you’ve come!

Get inspired with the tips above and carve out some time at home to begin working on your goals!

What are your resolutions for 2021? Have you been sticking to them so far? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Want To Improve Your Blog? Try The Following!

No one ever said that blogging was easy and writing throughout a pandemic is even more difficult when there is a huge lack of activities to write about. If you find that the stats for your blog are steadily declining as the days go by, the following tips might help to put you back on track. Let’s discuss:

Communication is key:

Like social media, the blogosphere is amazing because it puts you in touch with friends old and new. Your faithful readers want to communicate with you and it is important to be prompt when replying back to comments and getting a dialogue started on your page. Showing support to your fellow bloggers by liking and commenting on their blogs is also a great way to get yourself out there.

If you are still finding that views on your page are lacking, it might be worth checking out blogging or marketing experts to help improve your page’s position on search engines for better results.

Writing more frequently:

Writing during a pandemic is insanely hard and can sometimes feel impossible. But, as a writer, it is still essential to come up with content as often as you can. Your readers want to hear what you have to say, even if it is just a short and sweet post. It lets your viewers know that you are dedicated to your craft and entertaining them and it will make them even more eager to return to your page knowing that there is fresh content available.

Remember the joy of writing:

People blog because they love to write and, even though it’s hard, you have to remember the joy of writing every time you sit down at your keyboard. Writing is something that you found fun enough to dedicate an entire web page to and you can’t forget that! Blogging shouldn’t stress you out, so take a deep breath and get to work. Putting a lot of pressure on yourself can lead to even more writer’s block and that’s the last thing you need!

Take notes:

I am constantly writing down notes of potential blog posts throughout the day and I recommend to anyone to do the same. No matter how many times I tell myself I will remember what I want to write about, I rarely ever do (lol) which is why my notes are so handy. Inspiration can come from anything and as soon as you have an “aha!” idea, take note of it. You will find that you have a lot more to write about than you think. 🙂

Keeping up with your blog during the pandemic is a sure fire way to not only keep your mental health in check but keep your page running smoothly. Happy writing!

5 Ideas To Fill Your Free Time With

It’s safe to say that, at the moment, we all have more free time than we ever have had in the past – especially if you are unable to work due to the restrictions that are currently in place or are on furlough. That’s a lot of free time to account for! Back in normal times, you may have spent evenings or weekends with friends and family, going to different events or meetings, or just being out and enjoying different activities. With all of those options depleted, we all need to be able to find new ways to fill our free time. Here are five ideas to inspire you:

1. Reading:

If you know that you usually spend a lot of time watching Netflix or different TV shows and movies, maybe you want to shake that up and choose to read, instead? Reading can be really relaxing, it can help you to expand your horizons, and it’s enjoyable too. It also allows you to have an adventure with the characters in your book!

2. Learning Something New:

Maybe you want to challenge your brain a little more? It could be that you would love to learn something new. Could learning how to speak French fluently be a goal for you? Or how about mastering a new piece of computer software that you have always wanted? This can be a fun and very beneficial way to kill time.

3. Furthering Your Career:

Being on pause from your job can be a bit strange and it can also leave you thinking about what else you want to do in life. Maybe you want to earn an mph degree online or learn new skills that will help you to apply for a new job? Sometimes, a career change could be what you need to fill your free time.

4. Something Creative:

It’s always fun to get more in touch with your creative side. So maybe you want to paint something, make something, or sew something? You don’t have to have been into crafts your entire life to turn to a creative pastime and really enjoy it. Why not pick up knitting, drawing, or cross-stitch? There’s no better time than the present!

5. Launching A Business:

It could even be that you’ve always been interested in starting a side hustle. So this could be perfect for you and just what you want to be able to change your career or start something new. Bathroom Renovation Ideas For The New Year

Bathroom Renovation Ideas For The New Year

When it comes to our homes, there are often two rooms that will really sell your house or perhaps add the most value. This tends to be the kitchen and the bathroom. The kitchen happens to be a big job, but the bathroom can actually be made over quite simply if you have the time and investment for it. The bathroom is one of the most used rooms in the home, and we want to ensure that it not only looks good but is also very functional too.

You may be wondering what parts of the bathroom you can makeover or even the things you can do easily to improve the look. It doesn’t matter whether you have a full renovation or just make small changes, whatever you do will have a big impact on your home. So what can you do? If a bathroom renovation is in the cards this year, then here are some ideas to consider:

Look for inspiration in different places:

When it comes to deciding on what you want to do, the best thing would be to try and get some inspiration and ideas from different sources. There is a real mix of inspiration out there if you know where to look. Websites like Pinterest are full of great ideas as well as hacks and DIY tricks you can get. Instagram is also a wonderful place to see real life homes and what other people have done. Many share their homes online through their feed and it can be a great source of information and advice. Perhaps you will have an HGTV binge watch session for your inspo. Even visiting the websites of renovation specialists like acbathrooms.au can be most helpful in determining what styles and materials you like. It is a good idea to do this first before you start any renovations or get quotes. You need to know exactly what you want.

Replace the bathroom suite:

One of the biggest and possibly most expensive changes to make would be to replace the whole bathroom suite. This could be an especially good decision if your bathroom is a little dated. You may want to try out a new sized bath or have a standalone shower instead of it being over the tub. If you are doing any pipe work and installation, it may be advisable to look for an expert in both design and plumbing like this Bathroom remodeler Rockwall, TX (or a similar professional in your area!). Calling in the professionals is important so that the installation of pipes is correct and they don’t leak or cause damage. Otherwise, it can end up being a huge disaster.

If you are replacing the full suite, you will need to do some shopping to refurnish the space. Remodeling shows on HGTV or posts on Pinterest can be a great source for inspiration. You can also browse the selection of different stores like Westside Bathrooms to start putting your wish list of must have items together.

Make changes to one area:

Maybe you want to focus on just one change that you want to make in the bathroom. This can still make a dramatic difference to how a bathroom looks and feels. It might be that you replace the flooring or choose a new tile for the walls. It could even be replacing the light fittings or lowering the ceiling so you can fit modern spotlights. Another thing you could consider is the vanity, the cabinets, and the storage. Replacing those can make a big difference. Places like Pinnacle Cabinetry and Design could be a good option to consider. They may seem like small changes but they can make a big difference to how your bathroom looks and could certainly give it the wow factor with little effort and upheaval for you.

Do you want a theme for your bathroom?

A great way to make a simple change to your bathroom is to consider a theme. This is especially easy if you have a blank canvas to work with such as a white bathroom suite or plain walls. A theme can be a great way to add a different touch. It could be a nautical theme where you add subtle features such as toothbrush holders, ornaments, and pictures on the wall. It could be that you want to think about adding a color which we cover a bit more about in the next idea. Finally, a theme could be as simple as going for a modern, vintage, or even retro vibe.

Change up the color scheme:

Finally, a change of color scheme, although sounding very simple, can make a big difference to your space. It could be changing the accessories or adding a splash of color through the towels you have on display, for example. A hint of color here and there or going all out with color everywhere can instantly freshen up a bathroom space. If you have a singular color palette for your bathroom’s fixtures, a more drastic change won’t be possible by simply adding accessories. Companies like The Bathroom Workshop (or a similar one in your local area) can assist with the design and installation of fixtures for a fresh new look with a color scheme you love. It will make a huge difference and might inspire you to take on the other bathrooms in your home too.

We’re leaving blah bathrooms behind in 2020 and with some inspiration from Pinterest and help from the experts, this will be your best home renovation yet!

Looking To Spruce Up Your Space? Try The Following!

Looking To Spruce Up Your Space? Try The Following!

It is so easy to feel “blah” about the decor in your home right now. The COVID-19 pandemic has left all of us cooped up and it’s no wonder you’re itching to try something new when you’re surrounded by the same four walls every day. From big renovations to simply rearranging your furniture, there are plenty of options to spruce up your space and turn chez vous into a more exciting place to be. Get started with your home makeover with the following ideas:

Ceiling Tiles:

If you’re looking to change up your space, how about starting from the top? Ceiling tiles are an amazing way to add visual interest to a room without cluttering your walls with artwork and pictures. From plain and simple tiling to gorgeous baroque style patterns, your options are truly limitless. Unique ceiling tiles are something that begs to be shown off so your living room or entryway would be a great place to start.

New To You Furniture:

Do you have any furniture that has seen better days? Wobbly tables, stuffing coming out of couches, and stains tend to be main culprits! New furniture can be expensive so how about new to you furniture, instead? My apartment is completely furnished with secondhand pieces from Goodwill, Abbey Anne’s, and friends. Take some time to browse one of your local secondhand shops and see what you can find. You know what they say about one man’s trash, right?

Bathroom Makeover:

Perhaps you want to go all out and do a complete renovation of your bathroom. We’re talking new tiles, fresh paint, and updated appliances – the works. There is no better time like the present! Especially considering that most of us are home all of the time now. How would you design your dream bathroom? Write it or sketch it out and enlist the best professionals to help.

If you are not interested in a full on bathroom overhaul, then try a bit of redecorating. Consider what theme you would like for the room and do some online shopping for all of the little trinkets that will make the space yours. Most bathrooms are small in comparison to the rest of the home so this is a project that can be knocked out quickly.

DIY Fun:

A lot of the artwork that I have at my place was made during crafting nights with my best friend and I smile whenever I see them and think of the fun we had. If your walls are looking bare, how about a Zoom paint night with your friends? Get inspired on Pinterest and decide what you would like to try your hand at. Art isn’t about right or wrong but having a good time with those you are creating with. No worries if your masterpiece didn’t turn out as you wanted – you can always hit up your local Goodwill. I am quite fond of their wall decor section, myself.

New Flooring:

We started at the tippy top of the house with ceiling tiles and now we are going to examine what’s underneath your feet! If your carpets are matted down and stained, try replacing it with some new flooring. Vinyl, hardwood the choice is yours but I promise your place will look infinitely better once that old carpet is gone. Sleek flooring really opens a space as well as looking much cleaner than a tatty carpet. Warm up the room with plush rugs and runners for the final touch.

Use the tips above to create a new space for yourself in 2021. Let’s kiss 2020 goodbye – your old home decor included!

Feel Good Sports Movies To Lift Your Spirits

Standard
Feel Good Sports Movies To Lift Your Spirits

Feel-good sports movies are the ultimate pick me up when you’re feeling a little deflated. Tales of team spirit, fighting back from adversity, and overcoming odds have been a staple of cinema for decades. Here are some of the most uplifting sports movies to seek out on your streaming accounts:

A League Of Their Own (1992):

During World War II, baseball was shut down as men went off to fight in the war. In its place arose the first women’s only league. A League Of Their Own is part comedy, part feminist statement, and all sports movie. Featuring an all star cast with Gina Davis, Lori Petty, Madonna, and Tom Hanks.

Rudy (1993):

One of the sports movie classics. Based on the true story of Daniel ‘Rudy’ Ruettiger who dreamed of playing football for Notre Dame even though he did not have the grades, the money, or the physical stature to play. Against the football betting odds, he works tirelessly to turn his dreams into reality.

With a very young Sean Astin in the main role, Rudy will tug at your heartstrings and put you through the emotional wringer from beginning to end, but it is well worth it. This was named as one of the top 25 sports movies of all time.

Dodgeball – A True Underdog Story (2004):

Dodge, duck, dip, dive, and dodge. Dodgeball is an out and out comedy that sees the ragtag team from Average Joe’s Gym compete against Ben Stiller’s super athletes from Globo Gym in order to stop Stiller’s character from bulldozing their beloved gym to the ground. It’s over the top and absolutely hilarious.

Mighty Ducks (1992):

Emilio Estevez plays Gordon Bombay, a lawyer forced to do community service by coaching the local kid’s ice hockey team, The Mighty Ducks. He gets to face some of his childhood demons from when he used to play while trying to whip a bunch of less than talented kids into a team. It’s a great film for the whole family and you probably have fond memories of it from when you were a kid.

Cool Runnings (1993):

John Candy plays the coach of the first Jamaican bobsleigh team as they head to compete in the 1988 winter Olympics. All the odds are against them, but the Jamaican team brings their own brand of happiness and style to the chilly climate. This move is guaranteed to make you smile.

The Blind Side (2009):

Another movie based on a true story, which just goes to show that there’s nothing more interesting than real life. Sandra Bullock bagged an Oscar for Best Actress as Leigh Anne Tuohy, whose family adopts Michael, a homeless African-American student. With their support, he begins to improve his grades and become a world-class football player. Heartwarming stuff.

Field Of Dreams (1989):

When a farmer (Kevin Costner), hears a voice whispering “if you build it, they will come”, he builds a full-size baseball diamond in his cornfield despite the protests of his friends and the locals. From then on, the ghosts of baseball’s greatest players begin to come out and play on the diamond.

Major League (1989):

A ruthless baseball team owner wants to move the Cleveland Indians to Miami, so she puts together the worst team she can find so that they will lose all of their games. Soon though, the players find out what she’s up to and begin to start winning just to derail her plans. Starring Charlie Sheen, Wesley Snipes, Tom Berenger, and Dennis Haysbert, Major League is a classic feel-good sports film with lots of laughs.

This was a tough list to put together, as there are so many great movies out there. The eighties and nineties, in particular, were golden periods for sports films. It’s a movie genre that never loses its popularity and continues to inspire us to this day.

5 Ways To Instantly Refresh Your Home

Standard
5 Ways To Instantly Refresh Your Home

Even the best-designed house can become tired and worn looking without some maintenance now and then. Taking time to refresh the look of your home can help you fall in love with it all over again and give it a new lease of life. Here are five simple ways to help refresh the look of your home without breaking the bank:

Paint Touch Ups:

The daily wear and tear of life can be hard on your interior walls, especially if you have children or pets. Walls can easily become scuffed or scratched and the paint can suddenly look less appealing. Touching up paint does not mean to redo the whole wall. If you have paint leftover from a decoration, keep it in storage and when the wall inevitably becomes marked, use the paint to cover it up and make the wall feel brand new again. If you don’t have the right color paint for a wall, use a magic eraser. The erasers work by dissolving the paint slightly allowing you to use the surrounding paint to cover up the scuff. If the scuff or scratch is small, then an eraser can easily deal with them.

Should you want to do a total overhaul of the paint in one room of your home or all of them, that is just as well. Talk about a makeover! Of course, this is going to be a big task and you might want to leave it to the professionals instead of taking the DIY route. If you do not have the time, skills, or desire to DIY then simply enter a search for “Best Painters in San Ramon” (or your local area). Not only will they take on the job but they can give you advice about the best colors to improve the appearance of your home.

Replace Old Carpet:

If your carpet has been stained or threadbare, then it can make the whole room feel very worn out. Investing in high-quality flooring can make a room feel fresh without the need to completely redecorate. Millennium Hardwood Flooring is excellent if you want a high-quality finish installed by experts. Replacing carpet with hardwood can restore a room’s elegant feel and give it a classical, homely atmosphere. You will stand and walk on it every day, so good quality flooring is worth investing in.

Reposition The Furniture:

If your furniture has always had the same configuration since you moved in, then consider what other options you may have for laying out a room. In large rooms, bringing furniture away from the walls can help them feel cozier and zone off spaces. Smaller rooms can be made to feel bigger by bringing furniture away from the center of a room and allowing for a natural flow from one door to the next. Remember that furniture can always quickly be changed back, so have fun. Try out a new position and if you don’t like it, then rearrange it back to the way it was or go for something new again. You might discover a new configuration you would never have thought would work.

Exterior Painting:

If you don’t get the spark of joy you long for when you arrive home after a hard day’s work, then consider an exterior paint job. Painting your house different shades or even highlighting features like window sills and door frames can help give your home a new lease on life. Remember that external paint needs more protection. Buy paint suited to your walls such as masonry or specialist wood paint.

If you are looking for a major exterior change, you can always paint your fence! Choose a color that compliments your home. For example, a forest green fence would look stunning if you have a navy blue house. You will want to invest in some Eco friendly wood paint for this project to help better protect your fence from the elements and provide long lasting, rich color.

Declutter:

Finally, remember the easiest way to refresh your home is to declutter. It is easy for our homes to become filled with bits and pieces that we no longer need. Take time to clear out your cupboards every season. Decluttering frequently makes the task less onerous and allows you to enjoy your space free from mess.

If your home is still feeling cramped even after a good declutter session, you might want to consider the furniture in your home. Huge pieces of furniture take up valuable real estate in the space and limits your freedom to move around.
