Ensuring Projects Complete Successfully Across Your Business

Ensuring Projects Complete Successfully Across Your Business

If you are keen to make sure that your projects are all going to complete successfully, there are a lot of different things that you might find helpful to think about. In this post, we are going to take a look at how you can ensure projects complete successfully across your business for an amazing new year:

This is one of the simplest ways to ensure that your projects are going to work out. As long as you have the right people involved you are going to find that you are much more likely to be able to see your projects work out. That means utilizing people who have the requisite skills and understanding to help make the projects a success. Think carefully about who you involve if you want your projects to work out as intended and expected.

In all kinds of projects, there is always going to be a question about which trends you should follow and which you might want to avoid. This is something that you should put careful thought into so your projects are up to date with what the masses want. Following the right trends, whether they are construction trends or marketing trends or anything in between will keep your projects modern and interesting. Make sure that you think about this for each project that you are working on.

This probably goes without saying, but good planning is always going to be a central part of any project completion. If you have done this, then there is no reason why your project shouldn’t have successful results. Before any project begins, plan in steps. What staff do you need? What kind of equipment? What kind of packaging or marketing? What’s the budget? Step by step planning will give you a fool proof guide as your project gets underway. Be sure to factor in for things that could go wrong too so any surprises won’t stop progress.

One of the main reasons that projects fail is that there ends up not being enough money that you had initially thought. This is a real problem as it puts all hard work and effort down the drain until the funding can be met. Make sure that you are budgeting carefully and accordingly. You might not be able to pinpoint the amount you need to spend down to the exact number. However, giving yourself a ballpark range with wiggle room to spare will be most helpful.

A successful project cannot be completed without the proper planning. Leave no stone unturned during this phase because small tasks matter just as much as the big ones and it can be easy to overlook!

Friendly Reminder!!

Friendly Reminder!!

Hello!! After leaving an incredibly shitty work experience in March, I most definitely needed a bit of me time. During that Lil Red mental health retreat, I threw my hands up, said “screw it” (It was actually an expletive!) , and made a TikTok. What makes me really happy is creating content and I decided I needed more of that in my life – even if I am not the biggest fan of making videos. However, after close to five months of posting daily content on TikTok, I finally get it lol. It’s a lot of fun and I love shooting OOTDs, hiking, exploring, cooking, and any and everything videos. All of you have been onto something for a phat minute and although I am literal years late to the party, it’s better late than never! 😀

At the end of May, I was almost at one hundred followers and you have no idea how happy that made me. Fast forward to the here and now and I have around twenty five hundred and you have no idea how happy that makes me! For a page that is still relatively new, it might as well be twenty five million to me and I feel proud of that because my TikTok really is just for funsies. I don’t expect brand deals and billions of views. All I wanted was to go back to making content for me, myself, and I… And anyone who feels like watching or reading it and that is the prize in itself.

While I was in the midst of the not ideal work sitch, I was barely keeping my head above water let alone making content that I felt excellent about. And, in turn, I felt far below excellent because content creating is truly one of my forms of self care. It gives me a safe space to wear whatever I want, experiment, and simply be me. Even if my blog or TikTok got no views, it would be fine because it is mine and mine alone and I made it and had a blast doing it. My mental health has improved tenfold and it feels so SO good to be back in my zone and feeling completely like myself!

If you feel so inclined, I would absolutely love it if you joined me on my TikTok. If not, that’s okay too! I’ll see you around the blogosphere! ❤

What is your favorite form of social media? What makes you feel like yourself? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

So Cool At COSI

So Cool At COSI

Howdy! This past week, I took a trip to COSI which is a really cool interactive science museum in Columbus. It features exhibits that wow children and adults alike that include a trip to outer space, a dive under the sea, walking with the dinosaurs, and so much more. COSI also has pop up exhibits that change throughout the year and I was able to see an amazing section on sharks just in time before its removal on September first. This museum is so educational but extremely cool and it makes learning something new feel like play. Such a great way to spend an afternoon! Check it out:

Wayyyyyyy back in eighth grade, my class took a trip to COSI and I will never forget being so awestruck by the Ocean exhibit and my sentiments remain the same. As you walk through the hallway leading up to it, you can literally smell the chlorine and you just know you are in for something awesome! Entering the Ocean portion of COSI is like walking through a sunken ship and you can go one of two ways. Your first option is to visit a submarine headquarters where you can play games that allow you to control a submarine and explore the depths of the ocean. The second way to go, though, is truly the piece de resistance.

Option number two leads you into King Triton’s cavern and it is seriously breathtaking. From floor to ceiling is a huge statue of King Triton in a fountain that lets you control the water. It is just so spectacular and I could have stood there looking at it all day. Throughout the glistening cavern are different interactive activities that explore the movement and sound of water. You can balance balls on the tiniest geysers, make waves, create your own flow of water through pipes, and my personal favorite: The water bell. The water bell is a flow of cascading water that looks like… a bell lol. The cool thing is that after you put your hand through the bell, it no longer gets wet. My mind was blown!

Another major highlight of the trip was the dinosaur exhibit that reminds me so much of the Animal Crossing museum! The dino display is gigantic and showcases to scale dinosaur skeletons, fossils, eggs, feathers, footprints, and anything dinosaur related you can possibly think of. The dinosaur exhibit also features a portion specific to the relation of dinosaurs and birds as well as under the sea creatures. It explores taking flight, motion, hide or feathers, and skeletal structure. It was incredibly interesting and the similarities felt so obvious after all of it was laid out before you. I also really appreciated the way the explanations at COSI were written. While all of the information you see has scientific terms, the signage breaks it down into plain speak so you can fully grasp everything. I certainly learned a lot from all of the literature in each exhibit.

My final favorite part of COSI was an exhibit simply entitled Progress. I also remember this one from my eighth grade field trip! As you enter Progress, you step back in time to a bustling street in 1898. You can see all of the latest technology of the time like old fashioned cameras, telegram machines, and telephones as well as all of the different shops including an apothecary, general store, and hardware store. Once you are ready to time travel again, you leave 1898 and revisit the same street in 1962. My, how the times have changed!

In 1962, the street has completely transformed. There is a retro diner, a radio station, news station, and telephone booth. You can see vintage toys and games, food staples, magazines, and even an old time rocket ride outside of the toy store. My favorite part of 1962 was the appliance store because I absolutely love that style. There were funky refrigerators, blenders, radios, and huge box televisions. What a far cry from 1898!

What a fun little road trip to COSI. I can’t recommend it enough if you are in the area!

Do you have a museum similar to COSI in your neck of the woods? What is your favorite thing to learn about? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

How To Refresh Your Self Care Routine This Season

How To Refresh Your Self Care Routine This Season

It’s easy to find yourself stuck in a routine that used to work but no longer suits you. It could be the skin care products you’re using or doing the same exercises on repeat. When it comes to self care sometimes you have to go beyond your checklist to find something that truly nourishes you in the here and now. If all of this sounds familiar then it might be time for you to shake things up a bit. Here’s a look at how you can do just that:

Each season brings its own natural rhythm and this should definitely guide your wellness habits. You might find that in fall you prefer warm foods or grounding rituals while in spring you want more outdoor time and lighter meals. Even the small types of seasonal changes such as switching out a heavier moisturizer for a lighter one or switching from coffee to herbal tea can make a fresh connection with what your body really needs. The goal is always to stay in tune with what your body is telling you. You don’t want to get locked into routines that are too rigid.

Refreshing your self care doesn’t always mean you add more to your routine. It could mean you just try something different. Maybe you’ve been intrigued by herbal medicines or sound baths but you haven’t taken the time to try them. Now might be the perfect time to do so. Holistic wellness centers such as Davis Integrative Medicine offer alternative therapies along with personalized treatments. You can blend modern practices with ancient ones. Leading to a more holistic approach to your wellness.

Not every self-care trend is going to fit you and you have to accept that. What works for someone may not work for you and it makes no sense to force it. Take a moment to reflect on which habits make you feel more grounded. Then look at the ones you are doing simply out of obligation. You may find that letting go of a few things will open up space for a lot more creativity, joy, and rest.

A refresh routine should feel like something that you want to do, it shouldn’t be something that you are forced to do. When you feel obligated you are much more likely to flake and not do what you promised yourself to do. This can have an impact on your confidence. You may feel as if you can’t keep your own promises to yourself and this can be disappointing.

Ultimately self care is all about reconnecting with who you truly are and what you need as a person. As the seasons begin to change you should give yourself permission to change as well!

6 Challenges Parents Might Face With Their Children

6 Challenges Parents Might Face With Their Children

Parenting is one of the most challenging journeys a person can take. From the toddler tantrums to teenage independence, every start stage of a child’s life brings new obstacles. The daily balance of nurturing, teaching, guiding, and sometimes just getting through the day can feel overwhelming. When considering educational options, many parents explore structured environments like Montessori preschools in hopes of supporting their child’s development. But this isn’t the only challenge that parents face, and how to navigate those challenges with patience and perspective is not always easy:

Parents are managing these outbursts from the moment they bring a newborn home from the hospital, but young children are still learning how to process emotions in healthy ways. Tantrums, tears, and yelling are all part of that process, but that doesn’t make it easy to handle. Parents will often struggle with how to stay calm and supportive while setting boundaries. Understanding that outbursts are normal and rooted in emotional development can help with consistency and empathy. Along with clear routines, you can give your children a sense of security and predictability.

This is a big challenge given that we’re now living in a more digital world than ever before. Managing technology in the home is a modern parenting challenge, and while screens can be educational, along with being entertaining, too much time can affect behavior, sleep, and attention span. Parents will often feel guilty no matter which way they choose to go because too much screen time feels lazy, but too little can feel isolating. The key is to find that balance.

When more than one child is involved, sibling dynamics can bring a whole new layer of stress to parenting. Arguments, jealousy, and competition are very common, and you might find yourself playing referee more often than intended. By encouraging cooperative play and celebrating each child’s strengths, you can foster empathy between siblings and ease that tension over time.

Whether it’s bedtime resistance, night wakings or early rising, sleep challenges affect everyone in the family. Lack of rest can impact not only their mood and behavior, but also the parents ability to function. A calm night time routine and limiting stimulation before bed can prove to be beneficial. Ditch the tablet for a good book, put on some white noise or calming music, and encourage healthier sleep hygiene.

One of the hardest parts of parenting is disciplining gently with love. It’s very easy to slip into extremes such as being too strict or too permissive, especially under stress. A big part of parenting is re-parenting yourself from an early age.

From speech delays to learning styles, parents worry if their child is on track and the pressure to make the right educational choices can feel quite heavy. Choosing the right program can offer peace of mind, but it’s all about aligning it with your child’s pace and their individual interests. If you have concerns about your child’s developmental progress, it is a wise decision to make an appointment with their GP ASAP.

Whatever challenges you are facing, it is normal. And you are doing a much better job than you are giving yourself credit for!

TikTok Talk

TikTok Talk

Hello!! As you all know, I am a word girl through and through. I have always preferred blogging as my main outlet which is why I was never particularly interested in incorporating video content too. However, after making a big life change, I had more free time on my hands, said “why not?”, and started my TikTok in mid March. This was not to take the place of my blog, but to enhance it with footage of OOTDs, bloopers, cooking, and whatever else strikes my fancy. After one day on the social media platform, I finally got what all the fuss is about because it is kind of fun!

I have no delusions of becoming a TikTok star, even though it would be awesome. I’m just proud of the fact that people are actually watching my content. Even if it was just one person, I would be proud because video content isn’t in my comfort zone and I decided to go for it anyways. And, I’ve got to say, after two months I feel pretty awesome about my amount of likes and almost ONE HUNDRED followers!

Slow and steady wins the race and even if my page’s progress isn’t astronomical, it’s there, and that’s good enough for me. And, as another old cliche goes, if you never try, you never know. While video content isn’t my forte, you don’t need to be Spielberg to create a video and post it on TikTok. Had I didn’t give it the old college try, I wouldn’t have realized how much fun it is to create in a new medium. Whether you’re thinking about starting a blog, going to the gym, growing a garden, or making a profile on a different social media platform – go for it! If you end up not liking it, it’s okay. The most important thing is that you gave it a shot and you know one way or the other. I definitely expected to fall off of my TikTok a few days in but I have posted daily content since its creation. Your new favorite thing could be just one try away!

As always, give me a follow on TikTok @lilred6794 and keep pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone. You never know what opportunities will come from it!

Have you tried something new recently? How did it go? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Bunny Love

Bunny Love

Hello!! Johnny and I have been proud bunny parents to our mother and son duo, Melvin and Penelope, for the past two and a half years and it has been an absolute gift. They have brought an indescribable amount of joy and laughter into our lives and we just love them so much! Ever since adopting them and bringing them home, Melvin has always been our little adventurer. He loves to play and explore and never shies away from cuddles as he was handled by humans since birth. Penelope, on the other hand, is shy and timid. She clearly did not have a lot of human contact in her life and can be quite skittish.

It has been a long process to get Nelly Girl fully comfortable with pets and love and I am pleased to report that she has been making great strides. In fact, it’s almost as if she’s a completely different bunny than the one we brought home. It took a lot of patience and innovation for my bunny girl to not shy away from affection and it was worth every minute. We have been enjoying several times daily cuddles and it has been fantastic! If you have a skittish bunny, here are some of the techniques that worked for me:

I have always believed that Penelope would open up when she was ready and that meant doing everything on her own timeline. If she would run away in an attempt to pet her, I wouldn’t push it. If she was accepting of pets and love, I would utilize that time fully until she was ready to be done. If you continue to push your bunny into a level of contact they aren’t comfortable with, you are just going to terrorize them and they will consider you an unsafe person. I never wanted this to be the case so slow and steady will always win the race. And it did!!

My two pet bunnies have polar opposite personalities and if you have two buns, it’s so important to not compare them. Whenever Melvin is ready for some love, I always ALWAYS attempt to give love to Penelope too. If she was not accepting of it, that was okay. Instead, I would talk to her in a soft, calm voice and look her in the eyes. That way, she was still receiving affection in a way that was comfortable for her. And, eventually, this coaxing resulted in her coming to me for pets rather than running away. This was one of the most beneficial techniques I used daily and I am so happy that my voice has turned into something that is soothing for them.

The way to Penelope’s heart has always been through her stomach lol. That girl can eat and one of her favorite things is an apple treat! If you have a food motivated bun, use it to your advantage when you try to pet them. That way, they will associate your touch with something pleasant while they are munching away on their favorite snack. Another great way to bond is by feeding them by hand. This is something I do with the bunnies daily. If they don’t come to you right away with treat in hand, that’s okay. Give them the option to do so and then place the snack down after a few minutes so they can have it on their own. Once again, patience is a virtue!

Cats and dogs will typically come to you when they are ready for affection. For bunnies, you need to go to them if they are in their hutch. Tread lightly when you are on your way to avoid startling them, speak to them, and get on their level rather than hover over them. Bunnies are prey animals and a looming presence over top of them can be intimidating. If the bunnies are having free roam time, sit on the floor for a while and see what happens! Every morning, I spend some time on the floor doing paperwork. Eventually, my bunnies would come visit me as I was working and it is always a highlight of my morning. ❤

If you have a skittish bunny, be patient, kind, and don’t come on too strong. It took time for Penelope and we have such an amazing bond now!!

Do you have any pets? What kind of personality do they have? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Extra New Year’s Resolution

Extra New Year’s Resolution

Howdy!! I have never been one for making New Year’s Resolutions, but this year I made three: To keep going to the gym, to be better at saying no, and to make more time for friends. I am pleased to report that I have made good on all of those so far!! I had my first gym visit of 2025, I have been firm in saying no and not taking on more than I can handle, and I have made lots of fun plans for outings with my friends, nieces, and Johnny. I know we’re barely into 2025, but I am really proud of myself because these goals are not just empty words – I am actually doing it!

As I was feeling particularly inspired by my progress, I decided to add a new goal for myself after a trip to the dentist this past Wednesday. In case you don’t know, I had an oral surgery that went terribly wrong. It resulted in a lot of issues, particularly with my gums, and only intensified my fear of the dentist. Since all of that, I have been working diligently at reversing my periodontal disease. In fact, during my last appointment at the dentist, I only needed a regular cleaning rather than a deep gum cleaning. It felt like I was finally getting on the right track and I was thrilled.

At my appointment on Wednesday, I was a bit disappointed as my gum measurements weren’t as good as they were before. I had a decent amount of twos and threes, but way more fours than I remember. My hygienist reassured me that everything was still looking healthy. However, that just wasn’t enough for me and I knew I needed to reevaluate my oral health. Before I headed home, I announced that at my next appointment in May, I am going to have WAY less fours. My hygienist encouraged me and told me she knew I could do it and I can’t let myself or her down.

That night and every day since, I have been paying extra close attention to the technique of my brushing. My findings? I got LAZY after not needing a deep gum cleaning! The difference I felt when I was actually paying attention to brushing my teeth was night and day. This confirmed that I do have the technique down, but I need to make a real effort to fully commit to it. Challenge accepted because I’m crushing my resolutions so far so I know I can do this too!

I am expecting excellent results at my next dentist appointment in May and I think I am well on my way to achieving it. New Year, kind of New Me!!

Did you make any New Year’s Resolutions? How goes your progress? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Moving On Up: Art Wall

Moving On Up: Art Wall

Hello! This past Wednesday, I was hanging out at home while Johnny was at band practice and wanted to spend the evening relaxing instead of unpacking. That changed tunes pretty quickly, though, because of an unfortunate mishap with the video game I was playing. Basically, I accidentally loaded a previous save point and everything I did after that point got deleted. I was SO upset!!

Rather than wallow in my frustration, I decided to get started on a new unpacking project: Creating an art wall. It’s looking very nice so far, if I do say so myself:

image_50428161(6)image_50407425(5)image_50425857(3)image_50407425(4)image_50425345(3)

^^^ There’s still a ways to go but it’s getting there!

Between an endless supply of paintings from Goodwill, crafts with my bestie, and Johnny’s own artwork collection, I had a lot to work with for my art wall. This was a project that I had wanted to do in my old apartment and just never got around to finishing it… Probably because I never bought more Command strips to hang the paintings with lol. Johnny had actually bought several packs of them during his last trip to Walmart, which is how this first go at the art wall was possible.

The end result will have artwork hanging up all the way along the stairs and it is going to look so cool! I’m really happy with how it’s looking so far, though, and it was the perfect project to sink my teeth into after an epic gaming failure. The concentration it took to hang everything just so definitely kept my mind off of three hours of Paper Mario getting lost in oblivion!

Progress with unpacking has been pretty good but it has slowed down because we need more shelving for a lot of the remainders. In fact, I was feeling a bit down about it and this project helped perk me up and kicked my motivation back into high gear – especially with our housewarming/birthaversary party right around the corner. 😀

Although my project isn’t complete yet, I can already picture the end result and I can’t wait to show all of you. This is how I always wanted the staircase in my old apartment to look and it feels good for that vision to finally come to life!

What have you been crafting lately? Have you been working on any home decor projects? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
