Cardi Party OOTD Bloopers

Cardi Party OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Cardi Party OOTD! With three Thanksgivings in a row, Johnny and I were exhausted for basically the entire week afterwards. It was well worth it, though, because we had an amazing time with our families! Thanksgiving was the perfect occasion to get back into fashion forward posts on lifewithlilred and I was ecstatic because I missed it oh so very much. Of course, there are sure to be some unflattering pictures among the hundreds that Johnny takes and I took it upon myself to share them with all of you. Check out the bloopers from my Cardi Party look:

I LOOK GREAT!!!!

Don’t hate me because I’m beautiful, amiright?! Lol but seriously… A while back ago I saw this post on Facebook about a mom who will happily take pictures when her kids hold up a camera no matter what she looks like. Rather than refuse to get her picture taken, she’ll smile. And, instead of vetoing the more than likely unflattering picture upon seeing it she would say something like “I look awesome” or “I love my smile”. The blooper reels from my OOTD posts kind of follow that same concept as well as poking some good old fashioned fun at myself and it is a segment on my page that I am really proud of.

My sister claims that I take way too many pictures (As does Johnny as you can see!) but I just can’t help myself. No matter if it’s a “good” or “bad” picture, it’s important to me to have all of those special moments to look back on later and smile. Showcasing these yikes OOTD shots is something that I would have never done during earlier lifewithlilred times. However, I think displaying these shots for the world to see shows my growth as a person and I hope it encourages others to do the same. Is it really a “bad” shot if it makes someone laugh or feel comfortable with any of their perceived flaws? I think not! 😀

Keep it posted tomorrow for bloopers from my third and final Thanksgiving OOTD and then it is onto more fun here on lifewithlilred. See you then!

Are you a constant photo taker at family events? How many pictures do you have on your phone? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

3 Easy Ways To Look After Your Body

3 Easy Ways To Look After Your Body

You’ll need to look after your body to make sure you can lead a long and healthy life. As obvious as that is, it’s not something everyone puts enough time into. That could be because many people don’t know how to do this properly. If you’re in this position, you could be searching for ways to take better care of yourself. It doesn’t need to be as complicated as you could think, however. By using a few simple strategies, it will be a breeze:

Eat Less Processed Foods:

A balanced diet is one of the more obvious ways to look after your body. What does that actually look like in practice? One of the more notable parts is to eat fewer processed foods. These are usually high in fat and low in vitamins. That’s the opposite of the type of food you should have. Minimizing, if not avoiding, eating these is recommended for a balanced diet.

Highly processed foods include:

  • Packaged snacks
  • Processed drinks
  • Sugary meals

Try Gummies For Pain:

If you have any unexplained aches and pains, it’s always best to get them checked out. In some circumstances, there mightn’t be an actual cause for this. If that happens, you’ll need to find ways to manage your pain. One of the more notable ways to do this are with CBD gummies. These can reduce the pain while helping you relax more, with Delta 8 gummies being a great way of doing this. Remember to check the cause of the pain first to make sure you’re not suffering from a condition.

Wash Your Hands Often:

One of the most important ways to look after your body is to prevent yourself from getting sick. You’ll need to keep the germs at bay to make sure you stay as healthy as possible. Washing your hands often is one of the best ways of doing this. Germs can be picked up from almost anywhere, making it vital to wash your hands before eating or touching your face. To do this properly, you should:

  • Apply soap to wet hands
  • Scrub hands for 20 seconds
  • Rinse with water
  • Dry

If you’re looking for ways to look after your body, you’ll be presented with a wealth of options. Many of these could be difficult and time-consuming. Where do you even start? With a busy and active lifestyle, it could be tricky to implement these into your lifestyle. The tips above are simple and easy things to work into your your day and will end up having a much larger impact on your health.

You’re Never Too Old!

You’re Never Too Old!

Hello!! As you all know, I am a HUGE lover of body modifications, fun hair, and fashion. I’m twenty-eight years old and I could never picture looking or dressing any differently than I do. In fact, I truly believe that I will have my five nose piercings in for all eternity and that’s fine by me!

When I’m out and about in a killer OOTD or just bumming it while running errands, a comment that I always seem to get is: “I wish I could dress or dye my hair like that but I’m too old.” To which I will always reply: “NO YOU’RE NOT!!” As sweet of a compliment as it is, it makes me sad because I am a firm believer in age being nothing but a number – even though I sometimes internally cry over approaching the big 3-0 *face palm*.

I also think that life is too short to be anything other than yourself. And if that means getting a tattoo or piercing at fifty or dying your hair pink at ninety, then I say go for it! What is the point in denying yourself something that would make you happy? Answer: There is no point.

During a trip to the zoo a few weekends ago, I wore this outfit:

image_50417409(2)

While exploring the Akron Zoo with my sister and nieces, I ran into one of my friends and her three daughters. The two older of the three told me that they wanted to dress like me when they grow up and it warmed my cold, bitter heart. They also said that they never see adults who look like me and it’s cool.

I asked how old they thought I was because sometimes I have a hard time believing I’m an adult lol and one of them replied with “I don’t know… nineteen?” At this point, I thought my heart was going to explode and their minds were blown when I told them how old I am. I enlightened them on my philosophy about always being true to your own personal style and I think that it stuck!

No matter your age, there is nothing wrong with being the best version of yourself. If you are toying with the idea of changing your look up, then this is your sign to do it. You can thank me by telling me all about your transformation! ❤

What do you love about yourself? Do you have any plans for new hair, tattoos, etc? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

How To Get Better Prepared In Your Life

Standard
How To Get Better Prepared In Your Life

If you are worried that life is getting out of hand and you need to find ways to keep calm and carry on, then look no further. The article below will give you some tips and tricks on how to be more prepared in life. This will help it to seem less chaotic and help you manage all of the twists and turns better:

Sort Your Finances:

One thing you can do to help you prepare in life is having your finances in order. If you don’t know what is going on with your finances, then you could be spending more than you have coming in. One way you can sort this out is by setting a budget, which will combine everything and leave you with a rounded figure of money you have left after spending. To work out your budget, you will need to figure out all of your incomings and outgoings first.

When it comes to budgeting, no one is saying you can’t splurge on a shopping trip or take a lovely vacation. However, it’s about making smart decisions with your finances. Handle all of your important purchases first and foremost like rent, utilities, and bills. Put aside money for future planning like using the services of a life insurance lawyer if your claim ever gets denied, which can affect your finances, or funding towards college. Should you be the beneficiary of a life insurance policy, it is a wise idea to look for a lawyer who specializes in life insurance ahead of time. If something goes wrong with your claim you will be able to get the process started immediately with the life insurance claims lawyer you chose.

And don’t forget to save money for fun too like a night at the movies or a dinner with friends. Make best friends with your budget and keep it at the front of your mind whenever you swipe that credit card.

Invest In A Wall Planner:

Next, you should think about investing in a wall planner. One of the major problems with preparing for the future is that your schedule could be completely out of whack. It’s possible that things happen which you either miss or forget about until it’s too late. This could include appointments or deadlines that are crucial for your professional and personal development. Sites such as Daily Orders have a fantastic selection of planners for you to choose from.

Have The Right Insurance:

Insurance is like an umbrella. You won’t always need one, but you’ll be glad you have it when it starts to pour down. There are lots of different types of insurance that you can explore which can benefit various aspects of your life from life insurance to disability coverage. Selecting the right one will give you peace of mind when difficult situations arise. It is also a good idea to have legal professionals that specialize in insurance in mind should you need them. For example, a well reviewed Life Insurance Interpleader Attorney can determine the rightful benefactor of a life insurance policy if multiple claims are involved. Having an attorney already selected will save you precious time if you have a need for one.

Remember that you want your insurance policies to be as specifically tailored to you as possible. That way, you are getting the coverage that will be most beneficial to you. For example, did you know that there is Life Insurance for marijuana users and those in the marijuana industry? Although a lot of states have legalized marijuana, the federal government still has a slow approach which can make finding insurance difficult. Be forthright with the professionals handling your policy so you will never be without protection.

Find Things You Enjoy Doing:

If you do a lot during the day and have people you look after at home, then you may be due for a break. It is important not to feel guilty when you take time for yourself because everyone needs this in their life. Go and meet some friends for lunch, dedicate an afternoon to your favorite hobby, or hit the gym. Life seems much brighter when you make time for things you enjoy.

Know Your Life Goals:

Finally, you need to think about your life goals and what you want to achieve. If you don’t have a point that you are working towards, then it’s difficult, if not impossible to know whether you are making any type of progress. That’s why you should think about what you want from your life right now and in the future. Ideally, you should have goals that are related to everything from your personal life to professional development.

By taking the right steps to be better prepared, you can guarantee that life doesn’t end up catching you off guard!

Finding Real Contentment In Your Life

Standard
Finding Real Contentment In Your Life

We all want to be content. But so many of us spend our lives in ways that prevent us from experiencing these types of feelings. Instead, we choose pathways that stress us out, cause worry, and ultimately lead to dissatisfaction. This is a strange way to live when you think about it. Certainly, there will be moments and events in life over which we have no control. But there are many things we do have control over, and it is critical that we do take control so that we can become happier. Here are a few steps to get you started:

Feel Fulfilled In Your Everyday Life:

Whatever you choose to accomplish with your daily life, it is critical that you enjoy it. If you’re serious about your job, choose a position and a route that you like. Strive for advancement. Finish all tasks to a high quality. If you want to concentrate on your family, do all you can to offer your children the greatest possible upbringing. It’s also okay if you want to concentrate on both. What matters is that you feel satisfied and content with your work.

Break Bad Habits:

To some extent, we all have poor habits. Some of them are controllable. Some people are completely out of control. Whatever your bad habit is, it’s critical that you recognize the negative effects it may be having on your life and take measures to change it. It is sometimes easier said than done to break harmful habits. Some are physically addictive, such as smoking, binge drinking, or drug abuse. Some have a psychological addiction. Idly scrolling through social media, interacting with harmful influences, and procrastinating are all bad habits too.

Whatever your issue is, you can overcome it. You could consult a doctor. You could find help by joining a support group. You could reach out to helplines. You could go to a drug recovery center after researching nursing and rehab near me. Whatever the problem, just know that it’s possible to change it.

For example, instead of smoking, you can try Delta 8 online, which is committed to supporting members as they work through life challenges. In addition to offering support groups and educational workshops, they recently launched a new smoking cessation program called HHC Delta 8 — an initiative designed to help members with addictions or other challenging habits transition from one stage of life to the next.

Concentrate On Your Relationships:

Some relationships can offer us nothing but joy. They provide us with happiness. They make us feel more supported. They let us realize we are loved. Others can deplete us. These unfavorable interactions will undermine our self esteem, distress us, and wear us out. It is critical that you realize which relationships are unhealthy for you and separate yourself from them, concentrating your efforts on those that bring you joy.

Have Some Interests:

We often get engrossed in work, housework, fitness, and keeping up with friends and family. However, having some hobbies is also a good idea. These can keep you engaged, help you develop amazing skill sets, and offer you something to work on. Whatever your interests are, make sure you set aside time to focus on them. As important as it is to have hobbies, it’s also just as important to make time to relax too. Make sure you are penciling in time as often as you can for some R&R. Whether this be curling up with a great book, taking a long bath, or taking a hit on some dab pens and just vegging out, it will do you a world of good!

These are just a handful of the many things that you can do to achieve true satisfaction in your life. It will help you in waking up in a cheerful mood and lots to look forward to. Hopefully, these suggestions will put you on the right path.

Key Areas To Focus On For Good Self Care

Standard
Key Areas To Focus On For Good Self Care

The term itself may define self care – caring for oneself. Anything you do to maintain your health physically, mentally, and spiritually is considered self care. Although emphasizing self care may seem obvious, especially when considering longevity, it is frequently the first thing to go when we find ourselves in difficult situations, whether due to poor health, a financial crisis, job loss, divorce, or self isolation. This is why, especially during difficult circumstances, it is critical to keep maintaining it at the forefront of our minds rather than as an afterthought.

Building A Self Care Plan:

Life is dynamic, and so are our wellness aspects. During challenging times, we may rely on our strong points to help carry us through. When too many aspects are damaged, we may struggle and find it difficult to handle things that we could easily do in the past.

Here are some ideas to consider when working on your self care. Feel free to change, replace, or add your own as you go. Keep in mind that this is all about you!

Emotional:

Talk to someone, ponder, journal, read, do something artistic, listen to music, work out, go for a walk, watch something that suits the mood (or the opposite and changes it), cry it out, hug someone, cuddle, laugh, and nap.

Environmental:

Take a pleasant walk, take in some fresh air, soak up the sun, enjoy the night sky, visit an art gallery to see Freddi Wald, avoid polluting, pick up litter, decrease waste, use reusable items, recycle, clean your house, redecorate a room.

Financial:

Create a practical financial plan, open a savings account, begin saving (even if it is only one dollar per day), attempt saving even more if you are already saving, invest, reduce wasteful expenditures, examine where you can save money, and ask for a raise.

Intellectual:

Read, listen to audio books, watch documentaries, solve puzzles, be aware of your surroundings, get curious, try something new, explore your creative/artistic side, enroll in a class, complete a program, and graduate.

Occupational:

Learn a trade, acquire a degree, prepare for a promotion, accept the promotion, compile a resume, polish your resume, apply for your dream career, take on a task you enjoy, and start your own business.

Physical:

Work out every day, go for a walk, eat healthily, get your annual exam, visit the dentist, take your medication as given, avoid drugs and alcohol, get 7-9 hours of sleep, and see your doctor if you are not feeling well.

Social:

Meet up with friends and family, stay in touch with old pals, volunteer, go out, have fun, engage in positive social media use, radiate optimism, use technology when distance is an issue, and laugh a lot.

Spiritual:

Meditate, pray, contemplate, do yoga, visit a meaningful site, do the right thing for others, be attentive, examine your higher purpose and significance, seek support from your higher power, love one another, and aid those in need.

Self-care is an essential daily practice. This will result in a better balance of your wellness dimensions and enhanced overall health and well being. Life is valuable and should be savored!

Holiday Season = Prime Blogging Season

Holiday Season = Prime Blogging Season

Hi! Since completing my 1,000 day writing steak, I am currently at 1,070 days of blogging in a row. It may be crazy to some but it’s daily life for me and the holiday season is the perfect time to get creative with your posts. There are so many great ways to get content out during these next few weeks and, today, we are going to discuss some ideas to inspire you on your own page. Let’s get to it:

What The Holiday Season Means To You:

What holiday do you celebrate this time of the year? Or do you not celebrate at all? Everyone views these times differently so what does it mean to you specifically? Talking about the holiday that you celebrate is an amazing way to open people’s eyes about the many different ones that take place during the season because we all know that it’s not just Christmas. Teaching your readers about your celebrated holiday and the traditions that come with it will be educational and oh so interesting.

Holiday Crafts:

If you are crafty, how about a step by step guide of the projects that you’re working on this holiday season? Whether you’re hand making ornaments or building the ultimate gingerbread house, share it with your readers! Even if you’re not crafty in the slightest (like yours truly) it will be fun to try something new. You could even have a “crafting contest” for your readers and give away a prize for the best craft, honorable mentions, and not so muches.

Tips & Tricks:

According to Pam from The Office, if you need more than three pieces of tape to wrap a present, then you are doing it wrong. Are you a gift wrapping pro or know how to score the best deals on holiday shopping? Feel free to share with the class! Everyone loves tips and tricks on how to make things easier on themselves or save some money so don’t keep it to yourself – tis the season to be giving, after all! 😀

Decor Galore:

If you are particularly proud of your holiday decorating skills, then let’s see it! There is nothing better than doing a drive through the neighborhood and seeing yards decorated for the holidays. In this case, it will be scrolling through your page but that’s okay! You could get together some other blogging friends and create a holiday decor scavenger hunt through your pages and pictures of your decor. How fun would that be?!

Recipes, Please:

For Christmas dinner, my family always just has a round two of Thanksgiving and that is fine by everyone because we love it. However, there are so many people looking to shake up their holiday dinner menu which is where you come in. If you have a dish that your guests beg you to make or one that you especially look forward to, then share away! Your favorite dish on the menu could end up in a holiday meal halfway across the world.

Holiday Style:

The long running joke of the winter holidays is that everyone gets dressed up to sit around the house. It is hilarious and so very true! It also means that it is the perfect excuse to share your OOTDs and MOTDs with us. Give us New Year’s Eve glam or your fave PJs that you wear on Christmas morning, either way you are sure to sleigh… See what I did there? 😉

Help Give Back:

During the holiday season, it is so important to give back to those less fortunate than us. If you have a charity that you love to help out, let your readers know about it or have them give proof of a donation that they made in their hometown. Draw names from a hat of the people who gave back and send them a small holiday gift if their name was selected.

With the tips above, you will have fresh as fallen snow content all holiday season long. Happy writing!

Which of these ideas are you going to write about? How often do you post on your page? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

DIY Projects For Your Home

Standard
DIY Projects For Your Home

If you are handy, completing DIY projects in your home is a great way to get creative and save some money. This is especially nice as the holiday season is fast approaching and there are gifts that need purchasing! Today, we are going to discuss some DIY projects that range from a beginner skill set to advanced to spruce up your home and fatten your wallet. Let’s get to it:

Painting:

Of course, you can hire a professional house painter but you can also do it yourself! From painting your house to freshening up a couple of rooms, completing a painting project on your own can be lots of fun. You can get creative with the colors and patterns that you choose and you can even turn it into an event. Gather some friends and have a painting party. Music, pizza, and a movie night afterwards will turn a chore into an absolute blast.

Painting doesn’t just have to be limited to rooms and the exterior of your house. If your walls are looking bare, try your hand at painting your own unique artwork to hang up. You can watch tutorials on YouTube or attend a Paint Night with friends to help you get inspired.

Refurbishing:

Refurbishing old and used furniture is an awesome way to save money and even make money if you’d like to sell your completed pieces on the side. It is also eco-friendly as you can purchase used pieces from a secondhand store and give them a whole new life. From sanding and painting to upholstering and adding on to the existing piece, there are lots of possibilities based on your skill level. You will end up with a one of a kind table or chairs that no one else in the world will have.

Landscaping:

If you have a green thumb, landscaping projects could be the DIY for you. Hiring a landscaping company to do it for you is easy but doing it yourself will be so much more rewarding! You could build your own raised planters, make a fountain out of terracotta pots, or simply lay down that mulch that you have been meaning to do for forever. Spending time outdoors is so good for your mental health and is even better when you are with friends. Garden party, anyone?

While your DIY skills may not be HGTV worthy, it never hurts to try something new. Who knows, you might just end up finding your new favorite hobby!

The Revival Of The Billiard & Leisure Room

Standard
The Revival Of The Billiard & Leisure Room

From the Great Gatsby to Agatha Christie’s crime novels, the most famous novels that defined the 1920s painted a world of entertainment. The U.S. experienced a long period of prohibition between 1920 and 1933. However, the Volstead Act was tricky to enforce, so it’s fair to say that the prohibition didn’t put an end to social hobbies and leisure activities. Homes from the 1920s often contain a stylish hobby space, where party-goers met to play cards, have a pool game, read books, or talk about everyday life around a glass of booze and some tobacco. The original gaming cave existed already one hundred years ago!

Why is it so appealing?

The 1920s were a period dedicated to free-spirited individuals. After the first trauma of the First World War, the 1920s marked a turning point in the world’s mindset. Worldviews changed and, as a result, new lifestyles appeared. For a start, the war enabled women to play a more active role in society. When women started to earn an income, they also discovered the joy of spending their money freely. The inimitable Flappers were born. They loved amusement. They loved games. They celebrated their freedom with songs, dances, and cultural exchanges, along with young men. It’s hard to think of the 1920s without thinking of the independent women of the time, who were not afraid to participate in every aspect of society, including games. Billiard and leisure rooms welcomed both genders in a great get-together party.

Stage the room:

What would a modern, 1920s-inspired leisure room look like? It would be a lovely idea to refer back to the original leisure room by adding subtle Art Deco touches. Art Deco brings back to life all of the glamour of the Roaring 20s, combining bold geometric shapes and luxurious colors. Exuberance with a deep sense of streamlined symmetry rules this unique style that can elevate any room.

You don’t need to build a historic decor from scratch. But you can inject a soft Art Deco feel through simple decorative accents and focal points, from huge geometric frames to glam lighting. You can bring the room together through modern features that can seamlessly blend with the freedom-loving 1920s, such as statement window frames using the Renewal by Andersen custom windows services or gold and animal patterns for your rugs and textiles.

Make it your hobby room:

Now it’s time to give your leisure room a purpose. Granted, a beautiful wooden pool table would be the ideal addition to the space. But not everyone has got a room big enough to host a billiard table comfortably. The good news, though, is that 1920s parties included a lot of self-exploring hobbies that could be done freely from home. Artistic hobbies, such as canvas painting and sculpting, grew in popularity during the Roaring 1920s. The truth is, that these hobbies are just as relevant today. Most of us rediscovered the soothing benefits of painting during the pandemic. When it comes to sculpting, you might prefer a modern and stackable approach, such as using LEGO bricks which let you build anything you can think of without causing a huge mess!

Make it convivial:

If you are not familiar with 1920s party food, you are in for a treat. Appetizers were highly popular during this period, so you can find plenty of inspiration to create a style platter of snacks. Deviled eggs, olive platters, cheese platters, and mixed nuts are also a winning combo. They’re ideal for sharing with friends, and at the same time, they don’t interrupt your hobbies. You can enjoy a cubed cheese skewer with one hand and still carry on with your LEGO construction with the other. Finger food is instantly friendlier and more enjoyable.

Embrace modern gadgets and textures:

Can a 1920s inspired room introduce modern tech without missing the point? The answer is yes. The 1920s were all about embracing modern shapes and technology. The epitome of the period is skyscraper architecture, which was so popular that interior designers also used to refer to the stylized shape of skyscrapers. Therefore, it makes sense to bring some of the most popular technology and trends of the 2020s into your leisure room. From a smart hub to energy-efficient solutions, modern gadgets belong in your stylish get-together room.

The free-spirited 20s are back, and they are here to stay! After a traumatic pandemic experience, it’s time to tap into the mental strength and free-thinking joy of the 1920s. We deserve to have fun again, and nobody managed it better than the Flappers. So get your imaginary Charleston outfit on and create a room that marries style, modernism, freedom, and feel-good hobbies. May the best Flapper win!

Delivering A Sincere Message To Someone In Your Life

Standard
Delivering A Sincere Message To Someone In Your Life

From time to time, we need to talk from the heart. This is because life can be tough, emotional, and the standard pleasantries won’t cut it. For whatever reason, sometimes we may not be so forthcoming with the people we really trust or we might feel that accepting and discussing a truth we have to be out of the question due to our own insecurity.

Perhaps we might have wronged another person without realizing it, only to mature and realize the issue with what took place. Every now and then, we should take stock and see how important certain people are in our lives, avoiding the tendency to take them for granted. Maybe you feel that taking the next step in a relationship is the best way forward, and you want to communicate that as carefully as possible.

Or, most likely, you have your own reasons that we need not guess at, because that’s your private inner purpose that you wish to express in a confidential sense. How do you deliver a message like this with care? In this post, we’ll discuss that and more:

Write A Letter By Hand:

There’s something intimate about writing every word yourself, which is an art that many of us have lost over the last twenty years. Digital communication is immediate and oh so convenient, but we also lose something in that exchange. When someone sees that you’ve written a letter in your handwriting, they know it was important to you and that you took your time to properly format and think of exactly what you were hoping to communicate. Automatically, you add gravitas and sincerity without even considering the context of your message.

Small, Direct, Careful Gifts:

A gift that has been thought about but isn’t too assumptive in its messaging can be very helpful, giving your message that added impact while also showcasing just how much thought you put into it. For instance, Today Flowers provides you access to amazing creations gathered by award-winning florists. A beautiful bouquet of selected flowers can show the amount of thought you’ve put in, while also allowing your recipient to enjoy the beauty and fairly digestible implication. It’s hard not to receive flowers and to feel anything other than goodwill.

Give A Little:

The way that people often connect with one another, especially if relationships might have been strained in the past, is to give a little. Admit fault if you feel you’ve been faulty. Be humble. Don’t try to win or seem like you’re trying to achieve victory over someone else. That’s no way to connect to them. If you give a little, someone else is likely to give a little. There are so many relationships out there right now that are fractured and could be soothed if only one person decided to approach the other with care. It might be that you could be this person.

With this advice, we know you’ll deliver that sincere message with care and clarity.
