Almost Autumn OOTD

Almost Autumn OOTD

Hi! Mother Nature has been playing sick and twisted games in the good ol’ A-K-ROWDY and has been flip flopping on a dime between pleasant cool temps and hot AF. This has been majorly killing my vibe because in my head fall starts when September hits lol. I just want a nice, crisp day damnit! Dressing for this weird limbo season has fluctuated from fall fits and booty shorts and there is literally no in between. On the bright side, I did get to bust out this Almost Autumn OOTD on a breezy day which sent my soul soaring. Check it out:

Button Down Top: Truth By Republic, TJMaxx

Bodycon Skirt: Originality, Dry Goods

Wedge Heels: BCBG, TJMaxx

Lock Necklace: Michael Kors, TJMaxx

The brooch style earrings were purchased forever ago from PacSun!

I recently purchased the army green Truth By Republic button down at TJMaxx and was so eager to wear it as soon as the weather allowed. I have the same top in navy and it is one of my favorites! The Truth By Republic tops fit me like a glove and I love being able to wear pieces that are more form fitting without the sensation of being too tight. They are the perfect little somethings to pair with a smart pair of jeans or sweet skirt and option B was what I went for. With the top pre-selected, this outfit really did build itself!

In the skirt department, I chose a darling bodycon by Originality that just screams fall! The pattern reminds me of retro wallpaper and the burnt orange that is primarily featured is my most beloved hue of autumn. The skirt and top were truly a match made in fall color heaven and I was able to pull from the small amount of sage green in the skirt to form cohesion with the button down. I wore the top tucked in to form a pseudo dress for a result that was both chic and sassy. I always like to show a little leg! 😀

Finally, it was onto shoes and accessories. I kept with the green theme for my heels and went for a cool pair of cutout wedges by BCBG. Like the skirt and the top, the green wasn’t a perfect match but it was close enough and the combo definitely makes the eyes dance between all of the different shades! For accessories I opted for a pretty pair of brooch style studs because I loved the neckline the top created and didn’t want to deter from it. Rather, I enhanced it by adding on a gorgeous Michael Kors necklace in blingy gold. With that, I was ready to enjoy a little taste of fall weather!

I can’t wait to style ALL of the fall OOTDs and share them with you. Stick around for so much more seasonal fashion fun! ❤

Have you updated your wardrobe for fall? What is your perfect fall temperature (Mine is fifty-five degrees!)? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Groban Gal OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the Blooper Reel from my Groban Gal OOTD! Seeing Josh Groban’s Stage, Screen, And Symphony concert was, indeed, the highlight of mine and Johnny’s summer and we have been singing our praises for the experience regularly ever since. It’s hard not to live in the past when we got upgraded to the best seats in the house for free – right in front of the stage!! Josh Groban was simply miraculous from start to finish. These pics? Not so much! Let’s take a lookieloo:

The desire for seeing Josh Groban in concert all stemmed from a one minute video from Tim And Eric’s Awesome Show, Great Job called “Groban Sings Casey”. In this video, Josh Groban sings a compilation of songs in his classic style including hits like Choo Choo Train (I Want To Ride), Hamburgers And Hotdogs, and Time Travel. It is ridiculous, hilarious, and opened our eyes to the glory of The Grobes. So, when we saw he would be on Blossom Music Center’s summer concert lineup, those tickets were as good as ours.

In our ideal concert fantasy, we were going to yell “play Hamburgers And Hotdogs”, Josh Groban would hear us, and perform it with the Akron Symphony Orchestra. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. However, as we made chit chat while waiting for the concert to start, we met someone whose husband was singing in the choir that took the stage with The Grobester. He ended up coming by to join the conversation before he had to be backstage and we told him about Groban Sings Casey and it turns out he was already hip! In fact, one of the other members of the choir was going to bring it up to The Grobeman but got sidetracked and they talked about goats instead. I like to think that the fire that burns in mine and Johnny’s hearts for Groban Sings Casey burns the same for The Josh, though!! ❤

Best concert ever? Best concert ever. Thank you to Blossom, J-Grobes, and the Akron Symphony Orchestra for the most amazing time!!

What is your favorite Josh Groban song? Are you aware of the life changing properties of Groban Sings Casey? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Groban Gal OOTD

Groban Gal OOTD

Hello hello and welcome to a brand new OOTD here on lifewithlilred! Today we’re going to take a look at the lil fit I wore to see Josh Groban for his Stage, Screen, And Symphony tour at Blossom Music Center. This concert was truly one for the memory books as we got upgraded from standing on the lawn to being four rows away from the front of the stage! Blessings and riches eternal for the Blossom employees who literally made our lives and turned us into Josh Groban super fans. Johnny and I are so proud to call ourselves Groban Gals now after being transformed by his incredible voice! We already talked about the show in the linked previous post so let’s get into the fashion:

Crochet Top: Bozzolo, TJMaxx

Trapeze Pants: Patrons Of Peace, TJMaxx

You can’t really see the shoes but I wore a funky pair of platforms from ModCloth.

The earrings are Lucky Brand and the necklace was purchased close to two decades ago at a vendor sale!

When it comes to dressing for a show at Blossom, the name of the game is always cute and comfortable. There is a lot of walking involved to get from parking to the venue and if you have lawn tickets you are standing all night. That has never stopped your girl from wearing heels, though! The weather was absolutely perfect the night of the show with temps in the low seventies and a pleasant breeze so itty bitty short shorts were not required. For that reason, I started styling this look in the middle with a gorgeous pair of trapeze pants by Patrons Of Peace. The pattern screams tropical paradise, the wide legs are so retro and cool, and I just love swishing with every step!

Next up was a top to go with it and I selected a darling little crochet crop by Bozzolo. This is one of my go to tops in the summer because it goes with everything, is insanely comfy, and keeps me cool. The buttons down the front are too sweet and the peek a boo pop of bra serves some sass. Although this piece is a neutral and fairly basic, it was just right with the loud trapeze pants to form a cohesive look instead of confusing.

Finally, it was onto shoes and accessories. I opted for one of my favorite pairs of platforms from ModCloth for the occasion and they were definitely needed. The pants are so long! Even though you can’t see them, they feature a 70s style pattern in burnt orange and navy which worked really well with the deeper shades of the pants. In the accessories department I chose a pretty pair of three tiered turquoise earrings by Lucky Brand which were a gift from my mom. I also added a beautiful feathered handmade necklace for good measure as I had some open real estate on my chest. With that, I was ready to start swooning over Josh Groban’s crooning!! 😀

Stay tuned for the Blooper Reel from this look coming soon and another concert review will be on the horizon. I can’t wait to see Billy Idol next!

Did you go to any concerts this summer? Who did you see? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Pajama Party OOTD Bloopers

Hello hello and welcome to the Blooper Reel from my Pajama Party OOTD! These pajamas were fresh from the Halloween collection drop at 5 Below and I have basically been living in them – they are the comfiest PJs in the world! And did I mention cute?! The costumed bears and little ghost patterns had me swooning from adorable. There is nothing better to me than when I can put my lounge clothes on after a work day or just stay in them all weekend long. My happy time has been made even better with these sweetly spooky PJs. These pics could use some improvement, though! Take a look:

When it comes to flavors, I am a savory girl and rarely eat sweets. I enjoy ice cream and chocolate from time to time but that’s about it. I hate the texture of cake and frosting, I only eat cookies if they’re fresh out of the oven, and most chewy candy has gelatin in it which I refuse to eat. A sweet tooth I have not but to the people that do – there are some candies that I have serious questions about lol. Let’s start with candy corn – is it tasty to eat candle wax? I think I only tried it once in my youth and am still scarred from eating the equivalent of a crayon. There is no denying that candy corn is uber cute but is it actually good? I need to know!!

Another few candies on my list include Necco Wafers and those weird wax things that look like a bottle of soda. I can remember getting them in the very early years of going trick or treating and they were always a hard pass! Necco Wafers taste like chalk and you already know my stance on wax from our discussion on candy corn lol. Although I am not a candy girl, I do marvel at how much candy has improved since then. Because I’ll tell you what, some of these classic old school candies are just not it and I genuinely want to know who is still eating them!

My candy corn plushie is all the candy corn I need and was a terrific Pajama Party guest!

Do you have a sweet tooth? What is your favorite and least favorite candy? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Terrific T OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the Blooper Reel from my Terrific T OOTD! Wearing jeans and a T-shirt is my standard throughout the work week. However, T’s rarely have a place in my weekend OOTDs as I love to get dressed to the nines. This outfit was an exception, though, because I just couldn’t wait to wear my Twilight “I ❤ Hot Dads” T-shirt from Hot Topic! It’s never not going to be funny to me and, honestly, it somehow felt so appropriate to the lunch date with Johnny I wore it to because it was the most subpar meal we have ever had lol. And these pictures? Rank even lower than subpar:

Obviously there are no good barbecue restaurants in Ohio but there is Jimmy’s Backyard BBQ which has somehow stayed open for years. Johnny and I drive by it several times per week and always have to take note of a beloved Cuyahoga Falls mascot: Their giant Sasquatch statue that watches over the premises. It once got stolen a few years back and finally got replaced to everyone’s delight! Out of nowhere a few days before our lunch date, Johnny suggested we try it. Although I am a vegetarian, I go hard on BBQ side dishes and sheer curiosity got the best of us so we locked it in the calendar.

After dressing for success and taking pictures, we made our way to Jimmy’s with stomachs rumbling. We were served quickly and couldn’t wait to dig in. And that first bite? Lackluster at best! Believe you me, Johnny and I weren’t expecting blow your mind BBQ but we weren’t expecting that. The meat was dry, my mac n cheese was watery, and the most noteworthy thing we had were the hush puppies. Credit where it’s due: They were bomb AF. Needless to say, we would never go to Jimmy’s again. BUT it’s always nice to support local, it made for a fun story, and we got to get up close and personal with Sasquatch. This situation was still a massive win and that’s saying a lot considering I take my mac n cheese very seriously!

Although our meal was disappointing, the company couldn’t be beat. Johnny and I can always make a good time out of anything!

What is your favorite local restaurant? Is there a restaurant you visited that didn’t live up to the hype? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Pajama Party OOTD

Hello! It has been SO much fun seeing Halloween goodies in store and I say the earlier the better. In fact, it should be all year round! Halloween is, indeed, my favorite time to shop for home decor and scary cute clothes and 5 Below is one of my go to spots. There is nothing better than scoring little treats on the cheap! I am an avid fan of 5 Below’s pajamas and I couldn’t say no to two adorable sets during my first spooky shopping spree. They are the comfiest, softest PJs to snuggle up in and I have a feeling I’ll be living in them this fall. Check it out:

Pajama Sets: 5 Below

Candy Corn Plushie: TJMaxx

The Gengar plushie was a surprise from Johnny! ❤

I never used to buy pajamas because I always prefer to spend my money on clothes and shoes lol. However, 5 Below offers sets for under fifteen dollars and that is a deal that I would be hard pressed to find even at TJMaxx. I have purchased several pairs of pajamas from 5 Below and have quite the collection now. But, in my defense, I had a lot of time to make up for because my pajamas used to just consist of a few sad pairs of sweatpants and random T-shirts! While all of the PJs at 5B are uber cute, I think these Halloween themed ones take the cake!

Seriously, how darling are those little costumed bears doing their spooky best? And those teeny tiny ghosts?! Forget about it! Both of these pairs were hanging up at the front of 5B and I clocked them as soon as I walked in. They immediately went into my cart because I just knew they were going to sell out quickly. I was so right! The following week after buying them I ended up back at 5 Below with a client and there were no more sets of these pajamas in sight. I got them at the perfect time and feel like such a lucky duck. I can’t wait to curl up and watch scary movies and Supernatural in them all October long. 🙂

My plushies were my plus one to my pajama party and made for excellent company. Stay tuned for the Blooper Reel and stay comfy cozy!

What do you like to wear to bed? Is your wardrobe lacking any specific type of clothing? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Terrific T OOTD

Terrific T OOTD

Howdy everyone and welcome to a brand new OOTD here on lifewithlilred! This past week was my full week back to work after my surgery and it was a doozy and a half. I kicked it into overdrive because surgery doesn’t pay for itself and by the time Friday rolled around I was beyond mentally and physically prepared to become one with my couch. After a lunch date with Johnny on Saturday, of course. Our meal was pretty lackluster but anytime out and about with my main squeeze is a good one and the perfect excuse to put together an outfit. I knew exactly what I wanted to wear because I have been on pins and needles to sport my new favorite T-shirt from Hot Topic! Check it out:

Twilight T-shirt: Hot Topic

Mini Skort: Kyodan, TJMaxx

Platform Heels: Olivia Miller, Walmart

Earrings: SugarFix By BaubleBar, Target

The cuffs are by Aerie and Betsey Johnson!

I have a confession to make… I have never read the Twilight books *GASP*. However, an old client of mine was an avid fan of the movies and working with her was a crash course on that franchise. I have seen each one several times and enjoyed every viewing. They’re just fun and the hot dads don’t hurt, either. I’m talking about you, Charlie and Carlisle!! As soon as I saw the I ❤ Hot Dads T at Hot Topic with my favorite fellas from Twilight, it was as good as mine. Not only does this shirt feature my exact sentiments but it is hilarious and I couldn’t say no! I was so amped to wear it and the experience did not disappoint. 😀

I am really not a jeans and a T-shirt kind of gal so I decided to pair my T with a flirty little tennis skort by Kyodan. I wish I could have their skorts in every color, style, and pattern because they are my go tos especially in the summer. The light breezy material keeps me cool and comfortable and the built in shorts provide peace of mind when I am on the move. I am very partial to this skort as the skirt is sheer and gives an adorable peek a boo pop to the shorts. This skort added that extra something special to a silly T-shirt and kept this look fashion forward even with a basic essential.

Next up was shoes and accessories. For shoes, I pulled from the pink in the shirt by wearing the cutest pair of pastel pink platforms by Olivia Miller. Like my lavender pair, they were only five dollars and it literally does not get better than that! These funky platforms are way cool and incredibly comfortable. My only regret will forever be that Walmart did not have my size in the black pair of the same shoe!! In the accessories department I added a pretty pair of sparkly earrings by Sugarfix and a couple of bangles for good measure. With that, Charlie, Carlisle, Johnny, and I were ready to go get some lunch lol. 🙂

Stay tuned for the Blooper Reel from this look coming soon! ❤

Unique Unicorn OOTD Bloopers

Howdy y’all and welcome to the Blooper Reel from my Unique Unicorn OOTD! This little look was worn to celebrate my darling middle niece’s birthday and it was such fun. The birthday girl had the best day – so much so that she has been asking when it can be her birthday again lol. We’ve got a ways to go for that, kid! My sister put together such a delightful party and even hired a face painter for the festivities. Although the kids had a blast with it, I daresay that I enjoyed it the most. How often does an adult get the opportunity to get unicorn style face paint?! The answer is: Not often enough. The face painter really did do a bang up job but these pictures do not do her work justice! Let’s take a looksee:

Johnny and I recently hosted our two big nieces for a slumber party before they go back to school and it was a hoot. We did lots of crafts, ordered pizza, and watched Toy Story 4. And, as per slumber party tradition, we had ice cream sundaes for dessert! Normally when I am with the girl squad, I am constantly picking them up, swinging them around, or giving piggy back rides. This time, however, was different as I can’t lift more than ten pounds post surgery. The girls understood and were SO attentive to their TT and it really warmed my heart. ❤

When I got up to start sundae prep, my middle niece stopped me to ask if I could still carry ice cream lol. Blessedly, I could still swing that! The following day when my sister picked them up, I started to carry some of their belongings down to the car. I wasn’t thinking about my post op instructions whatsoever but my biggest niece was. She stopped me in my tracks and said “TT you can’t carry that!”. She remembered what I had completely forgotten as I am forever a DIY kind of gal. Both of their concern was so sweet and it was one of the best slumber parties ever!

This little story is a firm reminder to myself to not carry heavy things lol. Shout out to my bestie girls for having my back!

Are your kids ready for back to school? What is your favorite animated movie? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Hi! This past week we had a beautiful birthday celebration for our darling middle niece and it was so joyous. Friends and family gathered to celebrate our special girl and we couldn’t have asked for a better sunshiny day! My sister even hired a face painter for the party and she was a huge hit for the kids and your girl alike lol. You know TT had to get her face painted too as the extra aunt! My nieces were tickled that I participated in the face paint and immediately clocked the KPop Demon Hunters crop that I wore just for them. We love our Huntrix girls!! Take a look at this Unique Unicorn OOTD:

KPop Crop: 5 Below

Mini Skort: Kyodan, TJMaxx

Lavender Platforms: Olivia Miller, Walmart

The lightning bolt earrings were purchased on a vacation to Universal Studios many moons ago!

In hindsight, it was a mistake to wear an all white ensemble to a child’s birthday party because some stainage definitely happened on my skort lol. However, I am pleased to report that the stains came out in the laundry and it’s as good as new. GREAT SUCCESS! Anywho, I started styling this look in the KPop crop department as I have a couple of different ones from 5 Below and I love them all! I decided on the one featuring Rumi as she is my birthday girl niece’s favorite and even has a singing doll of her. Honestly, it’s really cool and I kind of want one for myself! 😀

Next up was a skirt, shorts, or jeans and I chose both of the first two options by wearing a skort. I am all about my Kyodan tennis skorts and they are so perfect for running around like crazy people with my nieces. No wardrobe malfunctions? No problem! Although the crop top is more of a cream hue, it still paired well with the crisp white of the skort and I adore the sweet movement that the school girl pleats provide. From there, it was onto shoes and accessories…

I didn’t need to browse my shoe collection because the lavender Olivia Miller platforms were an obvious choice. Once again, it wasn’t a perfect match to the purple in the crop but it was close enough and that’s all that matters to me. I got these babies for FIVE BUCKS at Walmart and am still blown away by that purchase. You just can’t beat a pair of Olivia Millers for that price! The last addition to my OOTD was a groovy pair of bedazzled purple lightening bolts that I snagged at Universal Studios. You’d be amazed at what fun jewelry you can find at zoos and amusement parks! With that, I was ready to celebrate the birthday princess on her big day!

Stay tuned for the Blooper Reel from this OOTD and remember that if you have the option to get your face painted: Go for it! It was a hoot!

Are you celebrating any birthdays soon? What would you have a face painter paint on you? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Fetching In Flowers OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the Blooper Reel from my Fetching In Flowers OOTD! This lil look was worn to celebrate my lil BFF on her engagement and the most fabulous time was had by all. And the good times are just going to keep rolling because it’s wedding planning time, baby! I am elated to help my best girl in any way she needs for her big day and I honestly can’t wait for her big day to get here because Johnny and I simply come alive at a wedding. The last one we will have attended prior to bestie’s was in May of this year so it will be a long time coming. Bring it on!! And bring on these yikes shots too for good measure:

I haven’t had a surgical procedure since I was twenty and there were some things that really stuck out twelve years later when I got my LEEP and tubal. For example, I was able to pop a Zanny basically as soon as I got into the room before my operation and that was a really nice touch lol. I wouldn’t say I was over the top nervous but I definitely had anxiety and I wasn’t not going to take a Xanax that a literal nurse offered to me! This was the best case “someone offers you drugs” scenario! I even got an Orange & Ginger scent clip attached to my gown to soothe any nausea and nerves that the Xanax didn’t tackle. But I’m pretty sure the pill did the trick all on its own. 😀

Speaking of gowns… Have y’all had a surgery lately because WHAT EVEN?! The paper gown that I had on had a flap that could be pulled up which revealed a spot where you could insert a tube. Obviously, I had to see what that was all about and these gowns attach to a heating/cooling device! My mind was blown! My nurse started it up for me and before I knew it, my gown was being inflated with warm air and I looked like the Marshmallow Man lol. The heat felt nice but it was mainly just funny to watch my gown blow up like that. Were any of these upgrades really necessary to my surgical experience? Not really but I sure enjoyed it!

Prior to my surgery (And after!), I got treated to all kinds of good stuff. I would say the Xanax took the cake but that inflatable gown act was truly something special!

What helps ease your anxiety? Which scent do you consider calming? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
