How To Treat Yourself To The Ultimate Makeover

We all deserve to treat ourselves every once in a while, and what better way to do that than with a makeover? Whether you’re looking for a new hairstyle, wardrobe, or skin care routine, there are endless ways to pamper yourself and feel like a new person. Let’s check out some tips on how you can treat yourself to the ultimate makeover:

Pick a Style Icon:

The first step to any makeover is finding some inspiration. Research your favorite celebrities or style bloggers and find someone whose look you’d like to emulate. Once you have your style icon in mind, you’ll have a better idea of the changes you want to make. Are you still trying to figure out where to start? Pinterest is always a great place to look for fashion inspo.

Update Your Hairstyle:

One of the easiest ways to change your look is by updating your hairstyle. If you’re feeling bold, why not try a brand new color? On the other hand, if you’re not ready for such a drastic change, ask your stylist for a cut that will complement your face shape. You’d be surprised by how much of a difference the right hair cut can make.

Invest in Some New Clothes:

Next up on our list is clothes. If your style needs an update, it’s time to hit the stores (or the internet) and find new pieces that speak to you. But beware – one of the pitfalls of shopping for a new wardrobe is spending too much money on clothes you’ll never wear. To avoid this trap, stick to buying items that can be mixed and matched with pieces you already own. This way, you’ll get the most bang for your buck and your closet will thank you for it!

Treat Your Skin Right:

Remember your skin! After all, what’s the point of having a killer outfit if your skin doesn’t look its best? If you need help figuring out where to start when it comes to skin care, try using products with natural ingredients or consulting with a dermatologist. And remember – just like with clothes, it’s crucial not to overspend on skin care products that might not work for you. Instead, start small and gradually add new products as needed.

Invest In Your Smile:

Finally, don’t forget to invest in your smile. A great way to instantly boost your confidence is by visiting a cosmetic dentist and having them whiten, straighten, or even reshape your teeth. With the right Cosmetic Dentist, you can have a brand new smile in no time and you’ll be amazed at how much of a difference it can make in your confidence.

Go ahead and permit yourself to splurge – it’s close enough to the new year to invest in yourself for a new you. And just in time for the holidays to wow your friends and family!

Beautifying Your Smile For The Holidays

Standard
Beautifying Your Smile For The Holidays

The holiday season is here and that means family photos galore! However, this can be easier said than done if you feel self conscious about your smile. Let’s check out some simple tips to put a real smile back on your face just in time for the family and friends paparazzi:

Stay away from sugars:

Sugary foods and drinks like juices, sodas, and sugary candies are awful for your teeth and oral health. Foods that are high in sugars are the leading cause of tooth decay and other tooth-related ailments that can ruin your smile. When one tooth becomes infected, it can lead to a cavity or even a much more severe condition called tooth decay. This is why you should ditch sugars and try to pick up a healthy diet

Develop good dental hygiene habits:

To keep your smile looking great, you should try and develop good oral hygiene habits. It would be best if you always brushed your teeth twice a day and flossed once a day. Brushing your teeth is the most critical thing you can do to keep your smile healthy and beautiful. Brushing your teeth removes bacteria and plaque that build up on your teeth throughout the day. Plaque is stubborn, so even if you brush your teeth, it is still essential that you floss daily to remove all of the plaque and bacteria from your teeth.

Receive dental work if needed:

If you’ve been brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing once a day but still aren’t seeing the results you want, it may be time to get a professional evaluation. Your dentist can evaluate your teeth and determine if any dental work is needed to improve your smile and health. Dental work can include crowns, dentures, bridges, teeth removal, All-on-4 Dental Implants, and more. Depending on what is needed, dental work can make your smile look better and make you feel better about the way your smile looks.

Whiten your teeth:

Poor dental hygiene, genetics, and other factors can cause your teeth to look yellowish. Teeth whitening can make you feel better about your smile and it is a straightforward procedure. Whitening is a common cosmetic procedure that whitens teeth by removing yellow stains. There are various types of whitening systems available on the market. These include at-home whitening kits and professional cosmetic procedures. The best and most natural way to whiten your teeth is to use a whitening toothpaste.

Drink water:

Water is essential for keeping your body and mouth healthy. It is also helpful for whitening your teeth. Drinking water daily will help you reduce plaque buildup in your mouth. Not drinking enough water can cause bacteria, sugars, plaque, and other things to build up on your teeth. This can make your teeth look dull and yellow. A water tracker is a great way to make sure you are getting enough water throughout the day.

Visit a dentist for regular checkups:

The best way to keep your teeth and mouth healthy is to visit your dentist regularly. Regular checkups allow your dentist to keep an eye out for any issues, such as cavities or gum disease. This way, your dentist can suggest preventive measures to keep your smile looking radiant. You should see your dentist regularly even if you do not have any issues with your teeth. Doing this can keep you from getting any oral ailments you are unaware of.

Look into braces or retainers:

If you have crooked teeth, you can work towards improving them. This is done by getting braces. Braces have been proven to help improve the appearance of teeth by straightening them out. Retainers are similar to braces, except they are used to keep teeth in place. Which treatment you choose depends on your specific needs and budget. Both braces and retainers can be expensive but they are worth it if they can improve your self esteem.

Follow the tips above and flash your pearly whites all holiday season long. You will be amazed at how much a smile suits you!

Inject Positivity In Your Life With These Steps

Inject Positivity In Your Life With These Steps

Life can be extremely difficult at times. Even when you’re absolutely flying, things can just fall out of your favor. You have to make sure that your mindset is one of positivity for as long as you can. This is because you’ll get the best out of pretty much any situation. Having a good attitude won’t necessarily solve your problems but it will sure make you feel more in control about them. Give your mindset a boost with these tips:

Get Up And Move More:

It’s amazing what your basic actions can do. Sitting around all day will make you feel insanely low. You might enjoy the relaxation for a little while, but then you’ll begin to feel useless. Your mind will start overthinking and you’ll regret the time wasted. If you’re exercising and moving around more, you’re going to feel so much more productive and healthier too.

Actively Look To Solve Issues In Your Life:

While it’s much easier to avoid problems and focus on other areas of your life, it’s actually a lot more beneficial to you to make sure you attack certain issues in your life. If you have an issue with your health, then perhaps it’s time to address that. Head to the dentist and get braces or head to the doctor to receive specific treatment. If you have a problem with someone, get in touch and face it. This will stop issues from hanging over you.

Do The Things You Love:

You have to make sure that you’re doing things in life that you care about and enjoy. Doing the same things over and over again or living life for someone else will only leave you miserable. You only get a certain amount of time in this life, so make sure you’re spending it wisely.

Surround Yourself With People Who Want The Best For You:

Your mind can be shaped by those around you so spend your time with positive people who will actively look to make your life better. Your life can be completely turned upside down by the wrong people.

Stop Consuming Negative Content:

It’s so easy to see negative news and comments – all you need to do is go on social media. Because it’s such a big part of our society now, it is very difficult to escape negative news, gossip, and behavior. Do your best to stop scrolling through social media because it will truly help your mindset. The more you see things you don’t wish to view, the worse you’re going to feel about yourself and life in general.

A positive outlook on life can help turn difficult situations into something manageable. Start every day with a smile and see where it takes you!

4 Ways To Quickly Boost Your Confidence

4 Ways To Quickly Boost Your Confidence

Feeling confident is key to success in any area of life. When you feel good about yourself, it shows in your actions and the way you interact with others. If you’re looking for a quick confidence boost, try some of these methods:

Stand up straight and tall:

The first step to looking and feeling more confident is your posture. Stand up straight with your shoulders back and your head held high. This will make you look and feel more powerful, which in turn will boost your confidence. If you’re not used to good posture, it may take some practice to get into the habit of standing and sitting up straight. But once you do, you’ll notice a difference in the way you feel about yourself.

Smile!

Smiling is another great way to boost your confidence. It makes you look friendly and approachable, two qualities that will help you feel more confident in social situations. If you’re not used to smiling, it may take some extra thought at first. But once you do, you won’t be able to stop. There is always something to smile about!

If you feel like your smile could use some work, consider visiting a Dentist. A professional cleaning and whitening can do wonders for your self esteem. Dentists can also help with other confidence boosting treatments, such as straightening your teeth or fixing minor imperfections. If you’re considering any type of cosmetic dental work, be sure to consult with a reputable dentist who has experience performing the procedure you’re interested in.

Make eye contact with people:

Making eye contact is a great way to show confidence. It shows that you’re interested in what the other person has to say and that you believe in what you’re saying yourself. If you’re not used to making eye contact, it may feel awkward at first. But the more you practice, the easier it will become. In addition to making eye contact, be sure to speak slowly and clearly when you can. Speaking too quickly can make you seem nervous or unsure of yourself. But speaking slowly and clearly will help you come across as confident and in control.

Dress for success:

What you wear can also impact your confidence. If you dress in clothes that make you feel good about yourself, it will show in your demeanor. So be sure to choose clothes that fit well and are comfortable to wear. You should also avoid wearing clothes that make you feel self-conscious. There is no point in that and it will show as you fidget and pull at your clothes throughout the day. When you look good, you’ll feel good – and your confidence will reflect that.

With a little practice at these four suggestions, you’ll be feeling more confident in no time! Why not give it a try?

Look For The Rainbows

Look For The Rainbows

Hello! This past week was a bit of a doozy with a busy work schedule and lots of bad news. I was so ready for the weekend on Monday lol. Thankfully, I had the perfect little pick me up on Thursday morning that made everything a smidge better. And, oddly enough, it was on the rug at my mom and dad’s house:

image_50461185(1)image_50446849image_50447361

^^^ Never mind the dog hair! 😀

When I walked into the living room at chez parents, I almost didn’t believe my eyes when I saw the oval rainbow prism on the rug. I thought that I was really losing it lol but, alas, it was there and it was glorious! I had never seen a prism with that shape before and it blew me away. It truly is the small things, isn’t it?

Rainbows, of course, always remind me of better things ahead but they also make me think of my lil niece who lives for a good rainbow. It was just what I needed to see during the final few days of the working week when everything felt so difficult. I had accepted before my day even began that it was probably going to be a bad one and this prism turned that whole outlook on its head – I ended up having a great day!

Even if you don’t have a literal rainbow in front of you, whether it be an actual one or a prism, this is your Lil Red Reminder to always look for them anyways. The rainbow could be a text from a friend, feeling sunshine on your face, or a smile from a stranger. No matter your situation, there are always going to be rainbows for you to find as long as you know where to look. ❤

What or who encourages you? What is something that makes you happy? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Unsatisfied With Your Smile? Braces Could Be Right For You!

Standard
Unsatisfied With Your Smile? Braces Could Be Right For You!

We are not sure about you, but one thing we have noticed a lot more lately is that adults seem to be wearing braces more and more than they used to. And that is awesome! We often have the tendency to assume that braces are purely for children, i.e. to correct your teeth so that they are not crooked later in life. However, this is simply not the case.

Braces can help people of all ages, as they can correct a wide range of issues like:

  • Jaw joint disorder
  • Crooked teeth
  • Incorrect jaw position
  • Cross-bites
  • Under-bites
  • Overbites
  • Crowded teeth

There are many different styles of braces to choose from:

If you need braces, you will have plenty of different options to choose from. There is something for everyone. When we think about braces, our minds tend to think about thick, metal bands. However, you can actually get invisible braces these days, which are known as Invisalign. These braces are to be removed whenever you eat, so they work slightly differently. The best thing to do is simply book an appointment with a dentist who will be able to talk you through all of the different options available and give you their professional opinion on the best solution for you.

It is about investing in your future smile:

Braces are all about investing in your future smile. Making changes today can help to make sure that you have a beautiful and healthy smile in the future. Plus, it is important to remember that braces are not only cosmetic. They can also help to prevent headaches, pain, and other dental issues that can occur when you do not rectify the issues you are experiencing at the moment. This is why it is always important to book a dental appointment sooner rather than later.

Finding the best dentist for braces:

Needless to say, you need to choose a dentist with care when it comes to treatments like this. You need someone with years of experience who has provided braces for people time and time before. You can read reviews that have been left by others to make sure the dentist you are considering has a good reputation for the services they provide. Some dentists also have images on their websites so that you can see before and after photos to make sure that the treatment has worked effectively.

If you are unhappy with the condition of your teeth and you think that you would benefit from braces, there is no harm in scheduling an appointment. We know that wearing braces can be intimidating but there really is nothing to worry about. You will look great!

Habits For A Happier & Healthier Life

Habits For A Happier & Healthier Life

How you choose to live your life is ultimately up to you. While some things are out of your control, there is also a lot that is in your control such as what you do or don’t do each day. Your habits play an important role in your overall health and happiness. You must take notice of your behaviors and make sure that you’re taking good care of yourself if you want to feel your best.

These are some habits to add to your routine for a happy and healthier life that you should review and consider implementing:

Exercise & Be Active:

Exercise is good for your body but also your mind and stress levels. If you want to live a happier and healthier existence, then add exercise and being active to your list of habits. You’ll soon notice that you feel less overwhelmed and anxious and that it boosts your mood and self esteem. Do what you have time for and are comfortable with but also try to challenge yourself physically at times. Some ways to begin are to join a gym, go for walks outside, or sign up for a yoga class.

Make Time for Hobbies & Relaxation:

All work and no play will leave you feeling exhausted and you may miss out on the fun parts of life. There are so many ways to relax and unwind including taking your dog for a hike, learning photography, or getting on the computer and participating in some online betting. Remind yourself that you work hard and deserve this time to rest and regroup after a long day or week at your job. You’ll not only feel refreshed and better for doing so but may also learn a few new skills along the way.

Eat Nutritious Foods:

Think about how you want to feel when you’re done eating and choose foods and snacks that give you energy and reduce anxiety. Foods not only impact your physical health but also your mental well being. Be proactive about choosing to eat more complex carbohydrates, lean proteins, and fruits and vegetables and keep the highly processed and deep fried foods to a minimum.

Smile More:

Your brain releases dopamine when you smile and this will make you feel happy. Crack a smile when you’re feeling down and notice how it instantly picks you up and makes you feel good. You may also want to give yourself a smile in the mirror in the morning before diving into the day ahead. It can help set the right tone for tackling your to do list.

Get Organized:

There are many ways to get organized such as at work, with your finances, and your house. Declutter and get rid of what you no longer need or what no longer serves you. Make space in your life for what truly matters and helps you succeed and live a rewarding life. It’s especially important to do if you feel like the clutter is getting out of control and beginning to negatively impact your mood and how you live.

Meditate & Breathe Deeply:

When you meditate, you can bring down your stress levels and blood pressure, find more emotional balance, and reduce chronic pain and anxiety. Your memory and concentration will improve and you may also feel more creative. It can help you gain a new perspective on stressful situations or problems in your life and allow you to successfully navigate a challenging circumstance. In addition to meditating regularly, you should also consider doing some deep breathing exercises throughout the day. It’s an excellent way to calm your mind and body in the moment.

Get Outside:

Explore and get into nature and take notice of how much better you feel and happier you are overall. It’s a chance to disconnect from technology and your responsibilities and simply be. You’ll not only have an opportunity to slow racing thoughts and clear your mind but spending time in green spaces can also lower blood pressure.

Spend Time with Loved Ones & Friends:

Think about who you miss or haven’t seen in a while and reach out and set up a time to get together or chat on the phone. Although it may be hard to meet new friends as an adult, there are ways to do so. You must be willing to put yourself out there and make an effort in this area of your life. Consider taking a class, volunteering your time, or finding social groups to join in your area. It’s not about how many friends you have but that the relationships and bonds you do have are rewarding and meaningful.

Get More Sleep:

If you’re discovering that you are tired or need naps during the day, then your body might be telling you that you need more rest. Track your sleep and pay attention to how many hours you get so you can make changes if you’re not getting enough. Try to wake up and go to bed around the same time each day to get into a routine and limit naps you do take to twenty minutes.

Visit the Doctor:

Visit your doctor and dentist routinely to stay in good health. You must take good care of yourself and address any health issues or ailments right away. Come prepared to ask questions and follow any treatment plans that are suggested for you. You should see your providers even when you’re not sick for routine checkups and peace of mind.

Help Others:

Try adding volunteering and compassion to your routine. There are likely many opportunities to do so right in your neighborhood and community. You’ll not only benefit from volunteering but you might also make some new friends or meet new people in the process. It might also inspire you to want to practice gratitude for what you do have in your life, which can also boost your happiness and health.

Begin sprinkling these habits into your routine and you’ll not only be happier and healthier but may find you reach your goals at a quicker rate and can build the life you always wanted. While it’s important to focus and work hard at improving yourself, you should also take breaks and rest when you need it to stay well.

Oral Hygiene Tips: 5 Easy Ways To Care For Veneers

Oral Hygiene Tips: 5 Easy Ways To Care For Veneers

Veneers are a fantastic way to overhaul your appearance. A veneer is a layer of material that is placed over a tooth. If your teeth are broken, crooked, or discolored, then getting veneers fitted could help you to restore, reinvent, and revitalize your smile.

Veneers are not only quick to fit, but if properly maintained, they can last for up to fifteen years. However, not everyone understands how to care for veneers. Whether they have been freshly fitted by an experienced dentist such as a member of the team at dentfixTurkey or if you are in the early stages of deciding whether veneers could be the right option for you, let’s look at some simple tips that can keep your smile looking bright and white:

Don’t Neglect the Basics:

Brushing your teeth, using floss, and rinsing with mouthwash is one of the best ways to keep your veneers looking their best. When brushing, use a gentle toothpaste and an electric toothbrush and, whenever possible, clean your teeth after every meal, at least twice a day.

Similarly, flossing removes stubborn food particles to protect your gums and is best completed before bedtime. Finally, invest in a quality antiseptic mouth wash – alcohol free mouthwashes are best as excessive exposure to alcohol can weaken the bonds between veneers and your underlying teeth, leading to complications.

Tackle Bruxism (Grinding):

Do you habitually grind your teeth? If so, clenching your jaw can put unnecessary stress on your veneers and lead to chips and splits. A dentist can provide special bite guards to protect your mouth when sleeping so be sure to mention this prior to any veneer fittings.

Avoid Hard Foods:

Giving up hard foods entirely might seem impossible, but it is no secret that some foods are highly likely to damage your veneers. It is also wise to avoid chewing on pens, nails, and ice cubes as these can also pose a problem for your smile.

Quit Bad Habits:

If your vices include tobacco or caffeine, getting veneers might be the perfect time to overhaul your life. Just like natural teeth, dark substances do tend to stain your mouth so cigarettes and coffee should be cut out entirely. Quitting smoking and switching out coffee for a healthier alternative can be tough, but the benefits to your overall health are many.

In addition, sugary sodas, red wine, and some highly pigmented sauces can also threaten the whiteness of your veneers so wherever possible, sticking to a beige diet can benefit your health and your smile.

Regular Check-Ups are Key:

If you want your teeth to stay as healthy as possible, then it is vital that you see your dentist once every six months or more. The sooner any potential issues are identified the better, as some long term tooth damage can be expensive to correct, especially if veneers are involved. Some dentists will even be able to use specialist veneer cleaning, polishing, and whitening equipment to enhance your smile further.

Ultimately, veneers are a quick and effective way to improve the look of your smile. If you would like to learn more about caring for veneers or if you are keen to explore any of the other different cosmetic dentistry solutions out there, then be sure to reach out to a few different dentists for advice.

Sweet Surprises: Silly Socks Edition

Hello! Some girls like being surprised with flowers from their significant other. Myself, on the other hand, loves when Johnny surprises me with spooky attire and decor for the apartment. So, when he came home from running errands and said that he had a surprise for me, I had a feeling that it was going to be from a discounted Halloween section and (as always! haha) I was right! Check out these adorable silly socks that Johnny gifted me with:

My Johnny has a staggering collection of Halloween socks. He seriously has over fifteen pairs and his collection seems to grow by the day. Despite my love of the holiday, I had not a one spooky pair of socks until this Frankenstein pair came into my life. They are so comfy and there is nothing like a new pair of socks to slide around the hard wood floors of our apartment with! 😀

You can’t put a price on happiness but, in this case, it came in a two dollar pair of socks that make me smile every time I look at them. Whenever Johnny or I are running errands, we always tend to pick up a little treat for each other if something catches our eye and it makes every time we return home an exciting event. While my Halloween sock collection will never be as magnificent as my better half’s, I think these Frankenstein socks will help me start off on the right foot. Ba dum chhhhhhhhhh! ❤

Smiling more will maintain a good mood and a positive attitude. Should you dislike your smile or not feel entirely confident when smiling, here is how to regain your confidence and fall back in love with your smile:

Get dental help:

Using dental services can get your smile in top condition so that you feel more confident and happy smiling. You can repair your teeth, transform them to better health, or reshape them so that you like your smile and the overall look of your teeth. Getting help with your teeth will help you achieve your desired outcome as well as the best oral health.

Practice in the mirror:

You might not like your smile because of a quick and unflattering picture. If so, remember that a picture does not always reflect what you look like. You could have been caught off guard yet remember that in your mind and use it as a reason not to smile. If this is the case, then practice smiling more in the mirror. Doing so will help you see how much better you look when you smile. It will also help you practice smiling for photos so that you can see how much nicer you look when you smile for the next pictures you take.

Smile more:

If you often find that you have a grumpy face yet feel happy, why not show off your happiness through smiling? There is no harm in walking around smiling or watching the TV and smiling. Smiling is the best way to feel happy. If you are not in the best mood and want to get out of your slump, then try smiling and notice how much better it makes you feel. You will soon smile more and more and regain your confidence to smile again.

Face the fear:

Everyone has their own unique phobia and if yours is smiling in photos or in public, then face those fears. It is the only way to overcome it. The more you practice smiling in photos and out in public, the more comfortable you will feel doing it. Soon enough, it will come naturally to you to smile in photos and you will look back and realize how far you have come by facing your fears.

Brush as much as you should:

Should you have poor teeth or gum health, it could be the reason that you are avoiding smiling. If so, then make sure to brush your teeth and gums as often as you should (at least twice a day) to maintain good oral health. Better oral health will encourage you to smile more and feel confident in doing so. If you can find time to brush after every meal, then you will be able to achieve optimal oral health.

You are never fully dressed without a smile! Use the tips above and soon you will be flashing your pearly whites all day. 🙂
