New Light Pink & Gold Glitter Nails

New Light Pink & Gold Glitter Nails

Hellooo everyone! This past week, I treated myself to a new set of acrylics. The ones that I had been wearing for over a half a year or so were getting pretty flimsy and it feels so good to have some nice, sturdy new nails again. And, did I mention that they’re pretty?! I went with a springy color palette and am in love with the soft pink and shock of glitter that I chose. Check it out:

I recently painted one of my client’s nails with a pale pink similar to the color that I went with and I was obsessed. So, I decided that that shade definitely had to be used once I was able to get my nails done. Light pink is so lovely for spring and it reminds me of one of my favorite flowers – pink hyacinths! The gold accent nail compliments it nicely, too, and is reminiscent of golden foil wrapped chocolate eggs for Easter. 😀

And, as always, Elysian Nails did a wonderful job with my talons. I honestly can’t believe I ever went to a different salon, because this one is the real deal. Amazing techs, gorgeous set up, and fair prices – it can’t be beat and I am so happy to have finally found a salon that I love!

What color of polish do you have on right now? What is your favorite spring flower? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

What The Sbux?

What The Sbux?

Hiii everyone! Before my surgery, I was all about getting iced coffee from Starbucks. A venti iced coffee with cream and vanilla would be my treat on Monday morning to begin my work week. So, before things went screwy and I was still working, I ordered my usual and went off to a client’s house.

During that visit, I was drinking my coffee (without a straw, a-thank-you) and all of a sudden, my mouth began bleeding profusely. I ran to the bathroom and spent five minutes spitting blood into the sink until I realized that I probably needed gauze. I acquired some and once I thought that it was safe to remove, my mouth began bleeding like a faucet again.

After that fateful incident, I was turned off from coffee and began a green tea kick. But, now, I have grown weary of all green tea everything and am ready to try something new. So, my question for everyone is what do they get from Starbucks? I tried my iced coffee order last week when I was working and it was just not as good as I remember it being. I would prefer something that’s calorie friendly with some coffee in it but not an extreme coffee taste.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!! ❤

What is your Starbucks order? Are you a coffee or tea drinker or both? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Bling Bling!

Bling Bling!

Hiii everyone! During my last trip to Pittsburgh, I got the microblading on my eyebrows touched up and finally got some tooth gems on my teeth by my fabulous cousin, Laura, the owner of La Marie Brow Club. I have wanted the adorable bling bling on my teeth for months now and I was so happy to be able to get it done! I love the extra sparkle they give to my smile and I just had to share a pic with all of you:

gems

The tooth gems that Laura applies are a totally pain free body mod and can last up to six months on your pearly whites. They are such a fun way to treat yourself to something new without going as extreme as a piercing or tattoo. If you are a fan of the bling, the tooth gems are a must – and also microblading. Peep those eyebrows, baby!

It was so nice to be pampered in Laura’s amazing studio and I left feeling like a million bucks. Be on the look out for a post on the microblading touch up soon! 😀

How do you incorporate some bling into your look? What is your favorite way to treat yourself? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Accessory Story: Michael Kors Necklace Edition

Accessory Story: Michael Kors Necklace Edition

Howdy! When it comes to jewelry, I either really like it or completely hate it. There’s no happy medium. And, when I choose to wear it, I pile it on so much that I would surely sink if I took a trip to the ocean. I rarely buy jewelry, because I have quite the collection from my beloved grandma and from when I would spend my money more frivolously. But, trust and believe that when I do find a piece that I like enough to buy, I have every intention of wearing it constantly. Like the Michael Kors necklace below, for example:

mk4mk2mk3mk1mk

I would never consider myself one who would obsess over labels but, I do really really like Michael Kors. Ever since religiously watching Project Runway when I was young, I fell in love with his simple but oh so chic brand. From his clothing to accessories, everything looks so sharp and crisp and that’s something that I try to emulate in all of my looks. I only own one pair of shoes from this coveted brand so, needless to say, I admire everything that TJMaxx has in stock by him from afar.

So, why would I go ahead and purchase a fifty dollar necklace if I look but never buy? Because I know a good deal when I see one! The original price of this necklace was one hundred and twenty-five bucks, so I felt like I was getting it for a steal. And, of course, I absolutely LOVE it and sometimes you’ve just gotta treat yoself!

I am a flashy girl and gold jewelry speaks to me. And, this Michael Kors lock necklace had a lot to say. I love the blingy golden yellow color and the length of the chain. The darling little lock makes it sweet, but the almost gaudy color and past my belly button length chain makes it a statement. But, like all of the pieces in Michael Kors’ collections, it makes a statement while somehow still maintaining that touch of elegant simplicity and I am living for it.

I have worn my new necklace almost daily since I bought it and the compliments have been pouring in. This is nice, but I like the fact that it reminds me of a wonderful Sunday afternoon spent shopping with my beautiful mother even more! ❤

What is a brand that you admire from afar? What is your favorite style of jewelry to wear? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Lacking Motivation For Your Blog? Get Your Mojo Back!

Lacking Motivation For Your Blog? Get Your Mojo Back!

Hi! Maintaining a blog is hard work. Creating content, staying relevant, and letting your presence on social media platforms be known can be a daunting task. With so much to do, it’s easy to throw in the towel – especially if you’re lacking motivation or are suffering from a case of writer’s block. So what can you do to get your mojo back, baby? So glad you asked!

Create A Schedule:

My writing schedule is crucial to the maintenance of my blog. I am such a schedule oriented person and if I falter from that, my day just seems off. Because I post new content daily, I write my next pre-written article around eight or nine every morning. This works for me. But, you need to create a schedule that works for you and stick with it. This could mean writing every other day or once a week. Create your schedule and let it be known on your blog when new content will be posted, which will hold you accountable.

Treat Yoself:

The reward system is a great way to gain some motivation for a blog post. I do this as often as I can afford! If I’m hankering for a treat for myself, I think of it as a new article on my blog. This could be a swatch post with the lipstick you just bought or an OOTD with the clothes that you couldn’t pass down at your favorite store. We’re only human, and sometimes we need a little incentive to do what needs to be done. With a reward, you get something new along with something to talk about on your blog. Just spend wisely, please!

Enjoy Yourself:

Blogging should first and foremost be fun. If you’re genuinely struggling to write and it seems more like a chore than a pleasure, then there is no shame in taking a break. Don’t beat yourself up about it and get back on the horse when you’re ready. The blogging community is a supportive one and we will be so happy to see you upon your return.

Of course, there is something to be said for just powering through and creating content despite not feeling good about it. And, sometimes, this can be really helpful. Once the juices start flowing a few articles in, you’ll wonder why you ever stopped at all. This is my preferred method of dealing with a lack of motivation and I always find myself feeling better after I’ve sat down and written something for my readers.

Open Your Eyes:

Writing is all about finding something that excites you during your day to day life. Whether it be the gorgeous floral arrangements at the market or taking a brisk hike through the woods, find what gives you that little spark and hone in on it. What did you feel? What were your surroundings like? The noises? The smells? Take note of it and create from there. When I’m out and about, I am constantly scanning what’s around me, because an idea for a blog post could be there if you know to look for it.

Motivation makes all of the difference when it comes to maintaining your blog and hopefully this post gave you some inspiration to keep the ball rolling! 🙂

How do you stay motivated as a blogger? What do you do when you have a case of writer’s block? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Bye Bye, Wisdom Teeth

Bye Bye, Wisdom Teeth

Hiiiii! So, this past Friday I got my wisdom teeth removed. I now have four less teeth so, if you don’t recognize me, I completely understand! The oral surgeon also had to take some of my gums from the roof of my mouth and sew it into the bottom of my gum line so that was really tasty, too.

Aside from waking up in loopy-ville, the pain hurting like the dickens, and the fact that my face swelled up to chipmunk proportions, I’d say that I did pretty well! But, the best part, was all of the ice cream that I got to eat. The most delicious being the Chocoholic Peanut Butter Ripple from Handle’s.

Originally, I asked my dad to get me Peppermint Stick but, then, I realized that I really really wanted some chocolate. My dad doesn’t have a cell phone, so I did what any girl in pain (And also on her period! TMI?!) would do. I called Handle’s and asked them to let “the man with a mustache and flannel” know that I changed my mind. The girl on the phone was SO sweet and when my dad returned home with my treat there was an adorable note from the employees at Handle’s wishing me a quick recovery. 12/10 will FOREVER be getting ice cream from there again!

What is your favorite ice cream flavor? How about your favorite local ice cream stand? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Making Time For Me

Making Time For Me

Hello! I know the title of this post might seem a bit extra to some, considering I just recently was on vacation. But, oh my goodness is it necessary. Upon returning home from my trip, my work days were absolutely insane. We’re talking rising at seven to get ready and going, going, going nonstop until my arrival home after nine at night. Ah, the joys of playing catch up when you work for yourself and don’t get PTO!

With all of that craziness in mind, it was so important for me to make time for myself to go skating in between clients this past week. Despite a forty-five minute drive there and back to the rink, just one hour on the ice made me feel much better. The cold air, the challenge, and the exercise was more than enough to clear my head half way through the week and gave me the drive to push through until my weekend days off.

Sometimes, I have a really hard time making time for myself. I will work myself so hard to the point that, when I do have free time, I just want to veg out and do nothing. And, believe me, I was feeling this way last week like no other. But, I pushed myself to get to skating practice, even though I was riding the struggle bus, and it was well worth it. Not only did I feel proud of myself for having a good skate, but it left me feeling invigorated and ready for work, which I had to be at shortly after practice.

Making time for yourself doesn’t mean that you need to take an entire mental health day. Although, sometimes, that’s good too! Rather, I took under three hours of my day to do something that I really enjoy and the pay off was grand. Over the past few months, I have experienced the effects of feeling burnt out, and it is no walk in the park. But, I know that if I keep carving out time for myself during my work week, that my mental health will continue to improve and my determination to finish the week strong instead of idly passing through it will keep me on top in all aspects of my life.

How do you make time for you during your working hours? What do you do for yourself when you start to feel burnt out? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
