Violet Voss Le Macaron Palette Swatches Pt. 1

Violet Voss Le Macaron Palette Swatches Pt. 1

Hello! During my last Sephora Haul, I purchased two new eyeshadow palettes: Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez and Le Macaron by Violet Voss. I wanted some beginner level palettes to play with but I also didn’t want it to cost an arm and a leg, either. Rare Beauty was twenty-five dollars and Le Macaron was only eighteen! I was comfortable with these prices and the large amount of positive reviews made me feel confident with my online order.

Today, we are going to be taking a closer look at two of the eyeshadows in the Le Macaron palette. There are some colors that are similar to those in Rare Beauty so we will be bypassing them! Now, let’s get to it with the top left and bottom right shades:

^^^ There are no names for these eyeshadows so I guess I will do the honors. Let’s go with “Purple Haze” and “Birthday Cake”.

The only negative reviews I noticed on Sephora’s website for the Le Macaron palette were complaints on the pigment quality. Happily, I did not find that to be true in the slightest while swatching these shades. While the eyeshadow may have been drier in comparison to the Rare Beauty palette, which was quite creamy, it still applied easily and in a rich hue. You just can’t beat that for eighteen dollars!

I can’t say that I will be wearing Purple Haze very often because warm undertones don’t look the best on me now with my red and pink hair. However, I absolutely adore the eyeshadow in Birthday Cake and it was actually one of the biggest selling points of this palette for me. It reminds me of fairy tales, bubblegum, and all things sweet! Purple Haze is a swing and a miss but Birthday Cake is a definite home run. 😀

What is your favorite eyeshadow palette? What are your favorite makeup brands? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

What To Do When Your Pet Has Dog Flu

What To Do When Your Pet Has Dog Flu

Dogs can have the flu and you may be wondering whether your dog is currently suffering from it and what you can do. While dogs don’t get colds in the same way that human beings do, they can come down with sneezing and congestion. Interestingly, you cannot catch a cold from your dog and if you get a cold you cannot pass it on to your dog. However, dogs can get canine flu.

If your dog does come down with canine flu, it is good for you to be informed about what to do to make your dog feel better. Here are some tips:

Treating Dog Flu:

If your dog has mild dog flu, you may not need to do much in the way of treatment, especially if your dog is still eating and drinking the way it normally would. However, if your dog is not eating as it did before, looks uncomfortable, and you notice that they have trouble breathing you should contact your vet immediately.

If your vet suspects that the symptoms are of dog flu, they will conduct tests to see if it is really dog flu or a dog sinus infection which can often mimic flu-like symptoms. Normally, your dog will be prescribed antibiotics and cough suppressants if they have dog flu.

Preventing Dog Flu:

There are no vaccinations that can protect your dog from every illness that could befall them. However, getting your dog vaccinated can help to reduce the risk that they will get dog flu. Ensure that your dog’s vaccinations are always up-to-date to prevent them from getting other diseases as well. Dogs are especially susceptible to parvovirus and leptospirosis.

Do Some Cleaning:

One of the easiest things you can do to help prevent dog flu is to clean your dog’s belongings regularly. Make sure that you clean their food and water bowls. Even their toys need to be cleaned as often as possible. Cleaning toys and bowls are especially important if your pet has to share them with other dogs that you may have.

Lots of Rest and Good Food:

Dogs need to sleep at least twelve to fourteen hours per day. Rest is very important for dogs and it will prevent them from getting ill. Nutrition is also important. Make sure that your dog is eating healthily and that you are feeding them dog food that is rich in nutrients that will boost their immune systems to prevent them from getting the flu.

Stay Informed:

When there is an outbreak of dog flu in your area, your vet will know that it is happening. Make sure that you are on the alert list so that your vet can notify you when there is an outbreak of dog flu. If there are vaccinations available to protect your pet, you should definitely get them to prevent your dog from getting sick.

Taking care of your pet is always a priority. Follow the tips and advice here to protect your dog’s health. If your dog does come down with the flu, be sure to contact your vet and do whatever they recommend.

Kingwood Center Gardens Pics Pt. 2

Hello! Today, we are going to take a look at my last bunch of pictures from the Kingwood Center Gardens in Mansfield, Ohio. The estate and botanical gardens of Charles Kelley King was an absolute delight to explore with my family and I am itching to go back. I am also looking forward to going to the Cleveland botanical gardens with my husband since he had to work the day we went to Kingwood. 🙂 Let’s get to it:

While it was so fun to walk through the grounds of the Kelley estate with my family, my favorite part of the day actually happened indoors. About halfway through the botanical gardens is an expertly placed children’s play center so the little ones can cool off and have quiet time after a lot of walking. We took a pit stop there with my nephew and I had the best time playing with stacking blocks and stuffed frogs with him. Due to the pandemic, it was hard to see my brother and his family who live out of state so I I really cherished getting to have some TT time with him. ❤

Another cool part of the botanical gardens is the Storybook Trail. Every twenty feet or so on this wooded path, there is a display of a page from a children’s book. As we walked the trail, my brother and I took turns reading about a baby bat named Chiro and that was also special to me since I have never got to read a story to my lil nephew before. Even though he won’t remember our day at the Kingwood Center Gardens, I will for forever. It was the best. 🙂

Are there any botanical gardens in your area? What is your favorite outdoor activity? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Kingwood Center Gardens Pics Pt. 1

Hi! This past Friday, my family and I enjoyed exploring the Kingwood Center Gardens in Mansfield, Ohio. I had no idea that this beautiful property existed and it definitely didn’t feel like I was in Ohio when I was there – more like a magic fairy garden! The greenery, flowers, and fountains at the botanical gardens were simply stunning and now that I know it’s only a mere hour away from me, I have a feeling I’ll be going back there again really soon.

The pictures below don’t do any justice to the beauty of the Kingwood Center Gardens but here they are! Check back in tomorrow for the rest. 😀

We were surprised by rain showers when visiting the gardens and, normally, I hate to get caught in the rain. But, in this case, the rain didn’t put a damper on my family outing at all. In fact, I think it made it even better! Seeing the raindrops dance over the flowers and leaves only added to the storybook vibes the property gave me. I also loved being able to see my nephew splash in the puddles. ❤

Ironically, the sun came out just as we were all getting in our cars to go home but I wouldn’t trade our rainy day at the Kingwood Center Gardens for anything. Rain or shine, I can’t wait to go back again!

What is your favorite fairy tale? Do you have a favorite flower? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

A Walk In The Park OOTD

A Walk In The Park OOTD

Hi! I had an amazing afternoon this past Friday visiting the Kingwood Center Gardens in Mansfield, Ohio with my family. I went with my parents, brother, and other brother and his family and, despite the rain, we had a blast exploring the beautiful botanical gardens together. Today, we are going to take a look at a summery little OOTD that wasn’t the most appropriate for the rainy day but what can ya do? Lol! Be sure to tune back in tomorrow for pictures of the Kingwood Center Gardens property – you will be blown away. Now, let’s get to it:

Who? What? Wear?

Prior to my shopping trip at Summit Mall with my friend, Danielle, I had seen Facebook ads for a website called Cider that featured adorable knit tops. I was really hoping to find something similar during my outing and Dry Goods delivered with the Thread & Supply knit tank. This top just screams “fun in the sun” to me and I thought that it would be the perfect option for a stroll in the botanical gardens.

As always, I think the shorts from American Eagle are just the tops and I love their mid rise fit. I liked how the Thread & Supply tank covered up the extra length on the waist of these shorts as it provided for a long, lean silhouette. To further exaggerate the illusion of length (I am only 5’1!), I opted for my slide on wedges from TJMaxx. Ankle strapless shoes allowed for the straight line to continue all the way down to my feet without an abrupt break in it.

As you all know, summer is my least favorite season to dress for because I prefer the variety in the clothing for cooler weather. My Walk In The Park OOTD was quite simple, which is something I normally shy away from. But, I have to say, I felt like a million bucks in this look. My knit tank from Dry Goods is, easily, one of my favorite summer tops and it made me feel like the sun was shining, despite the rainy day.

It wasn’t supposed to rain when we went to the Kingwood Center Gardens but I guess Mother Nature needed a good cry. Had I known that there was going to be inclement weather, a hoodie would have been the move, for sure. I really enjoyed being able to work this outfit, though, and my mood all day was as bright as a summer day to have such wonderful quality time with my family! ❤

What is your favorite season to dress for? What is one of your summer wardrobe staples? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Face Mask Festivities: LANEIGE Berry Lip Sleeping Mask Edition

Face Mask Festivities: LANEIGE Berry Lip Sleeping Mask Edition

Hello! At the end of June, I had an online Sephora haul just in time to get my birthday freebie. For my gift, I went with a skin care set by LANEIGE because I have always been interested in trying their products. While I can’t wait to test out the moisturizer and sleeping face mask by LANEIGE, I was most looking forward to using the Berry Lip Sleeping Mask. I see their lip masks all the time at TJMaxx but I could never justify the fifteen dollar price tag. After a few uses, however, I will happily be purchasing a full sized jar because I am obsessed! Let’s discuss:

In a world of skin care that revolves around moisturizers, serums, and eye creams, it is a rarity to find a product solely dedicated to the lips. While I do apply moisturizer to my lips, I have never used a treatment specifically for them, which is why I was so eager to test the Berry Lip Sleeping Mask out. I am very prone to chapped lips and after just three uses I have noticed a huge difference in both the hydration and appearance of my lips.

My first impression of the LANEIGE lip mask was how pretty the seashell pink packaging and product was! It also smelled amazing – just like the mixed berry Lip Smackers. The jar I received was, of course, a trial size but just a small swiping of it went such a long way and I have hardly made a dent in it after three uses. The texture of the mask is rich and creamy without feeling thick and I have been applying a small amount after my nighttime skin care routine every other few days.

When I used the Lip Sleeping Mask for the first time, I couldn’t wait to wake up in the morning to see the results! After washing it off, I couldn’t believe what I saw and felt. My lips had never felt so hydrated and cared for before and they looked fuller and healthy. I even think that the natural color of my lips has improved too from the berry tinged mask. The best part? My lips still were highly moisturized and had a supple, color tinted appearance after a handful of days without using it.

The LANEIGE Berry Lip Sleeping Mask is literally everything and I never realized how much I needed a product just for my lips until testing it out. I highly, highly recommend it!

What is a skin care essential for you? What are your thoughts on this mask if you have used it before? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Time To Make Your Life Healthier!

Time To Make Your Life Healthier!

Why is healthy eating so important in the workplace? It’s important because, oftentimes, we reach for the nearest and quickest item of food to eat before getting back to the grind. Then while you are sitting at your desk, hunger suddenly starts to take hold. Healthy nutrition falls by the wayside and you eat what is there – a biscuit, a piece of cake from the staff room. You eat too fast, too greasy, too much sugar and then you feel the effects creeping in. Discomfort, tiredness, sluggishness, stomach ache, and cravings come quickly – that is why it is important to switch things up and be healthy with the following advice:

Increase your physical performance:

Your brain needs energy and minerals to function well. If you eat right, your body can metabolize nutrients and vitamins better. Not only do you feel more productive, but you can also significantly increase your concentration and performance. Choose green ingredients and it will greatly assist.

Get healthier and fitter in everyday life:

Did you know that poor nutrition can also make you sick? If you eat a healthy and balanced diet, you can avoid the risk of getting sick and improve your general health. This way you can easily save yourself annoying doctor visits and expensive medication.

Reach your natural feel-good weight:

There is no need to start a new fad diet or try something such as the Atkins diet. With a healthy diet, you don’t have to struggle with constant dieting or the yo-yo effect. Eating well-balanced foods can help you feel full longer and trick your cravings. Eat nuts and healthy fruit snacks, instead. Dried banana, coconut, and fat free yogurt can be delicious treat! Feel like something sweet? Honey has amazing health benefits which you can learn more about at Gold Bee and potentially get yourself some of their high-quality raw, organic honey for your cupboard. It’s the perfect way to top off a yogurt parfait – yum!

Increase your resilience and stress resistance:

With healthy food you can improve your stress resistance. This is especially important when things get tough at work. Health insurance companies confirm that healthy eating helps you to better meet the high demands of everyday working life. It also helps you to concentrate better. This allows you to work more efficiently and, all in all, you are less prone to stress.

Improve your complexion for visible beauty:

Healthy nutrition affects your appearance and your beauty from within. This helps ensure beautiful skin, healthy hair, and fewer wrinkles. You feel more comfortable and you radiate it in everyday life. That makes you more self-confident and more successful – which can also benefit your career. Vitamin C is great for your skin as are natural fatty acids that will make you glow. Protein and antioxidant rich foods are also excellent for your skin and can be found in the options when you Shop Bird Nest Online for an even more enhanced radiance.

Feel better and radiate it:

Researchers at the University of California have found that mood and digestion are closely related because they are closely connected by nerve tracts. So if the stomach feels good, happiness hormones are released that make you really happy. You feel more balanced and your colleagues will be amazed at how you are walking down the aisle with such a smile.  Eating your greens and plenty of fruit will allow you to blossom further.

Eating right has a huge impact on your health and mood – improve yours today with these ideas!

Orange Sherbet & Turquoise Nails

Orange Sherbet & Turquoise Nails

Hi! I had not gotten my nails done since before my wedding and I was in desperate need of a fill. While it was a little sad to bid farewell to my amazing studded red stiletto nails, I am loving the summery color combo that I selected. For my fill, I went with an orange sherbet and turquoise polish. I drew inspiration from the embroidery on my new Luna Moon peasant blouse and the polish colors just scream “fun in the sun” to me. Check it out:

As always, my favorite nail tech, Gabby, completely knocked it out of the park with my fill. All of the people who work at Elysian Nails are incredibly skilled but there is nothing better than being pampered and having lots of girl talk too. I had been looking forward to filling Gabby in on my wedding and it was so nice to sit down and chat after a long, stressful day at work.

Despite having such summery nails, I am not a huge fan of the season at all. I hate being overly hot and, although I had quite a few recent clothing hauls, summer fashion is my least favorite. Lil Red loves to layer! It’s hard not to smile whenever I look at my new nails, though. The orange sherbet and turquoise combo takes me right to the beach on a perfect seventy-five degree day. 😀

This past month has, truly, been a whirlwind for me between getting married, change ups at work, and mine and Johnny’s double birthdays. Being at Elysian Nails for barely over an hour with the sole purpose of relaxing and hanging out with my nail tech was so needed and I felt much more at peace after my appointment. The power of pampering!

What color are your nails? What is your favorite season to dress for? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Selena Gomez Rare Beauty Palette Swatches (Elevate & Trust)

Selena Gomez Rare Beauty Palette Swatches (Elevate & Trust)

Hello! Today we are going to conclude our swatches for my new palette by Selena Gomez called Rare Beauty. I am so pleased with this purchase – everything from the colors and quality to the packaging and price (A mere twenty-five dollars!) made this the perfect beginner palette for me. I am not a huge makeup gal and didn’t want a palette with an overwhelming amount of colors. However, a little variety would be nice and I found it with Rare Beauty. Check out my final swatches and tune in tomorrow to see my turquoise and orange acrylics!

^^^ The silver eyeshadow is called Elevate, which makes the pink one Trust!

Originally, I thought I was going to really like the silver shade in Elevate because I assumed that it was going to be a pure silver metallic. Swatching it was an entirely different story, though, as it appeared very yellow on my skin. Because of this, I can’t see myself wearing just Elevate as an eyeshadow. But this is not to say that I won’t use it! I plan on applying Elevate to my tear duct and waterline for a little extra sparkle. I actually used to do this all the time with a similar shade but never repurchased it once I ran out so Elevate will work just fine.

Upon first sight of Trust, I also felt like I was going to love it and my instincts were right! The metallic watermelon pink is oh so sweet and I think it is an ideal summer eyeshadow shade. While I wasn’t crazy about Elevate, I thought it looked awesome paired with Trust. This palette purchase is all about being able to experiment and I can definitely see myself attempting a combination of the two in the future. Will it look good? Maybe. But I’ll never know if I don’t try!

Despite a few misses in terms of color (And that is just my opinion!), I still highly recommend the Rare Beauty palette by Selena Gomez. It will not break your bank and will give you the opportunity to play around with the different shades as they all pair well together, for the most part. The quality and pigment of these colors for the price is excellent too!

What is your favorite eyeshadow palette? How do you learn different makeup techniques? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
