Man Crush Monday: Zahn McClarnon Edition

Man Crush Monday: Zahn McClarnon Edition

Hello everyone and happy Monday! Lifewithlilred has lacked a new Man Crush Monday for a while now because I thought I had all of my celebrity crushes covered…but after seeing Zahn McClarnon on FX’s Fargo, I knew that I thought wrong. My dad and I are big Fargo fans so when we finally got around to watching season two and McClarnon’s character, Hanzee Dent, was introduced I was completely dumbstruck. Take a look at some pics of this handsome hunk of a man and let’s discuss:

Dear Zahn McClarnon,

If there’s one thing that I love in a man, it’s cheekbones that you can cut glass with. If there’s another thing that I love in a man, it’s long, luscious, flowing locks. So needless to say, when you made your debut on Fargo as Hanzee, my jaw dropped to the floor. You are literally the most gorgeous man that I have seen on TV in years and I am not just saying that. Not only are you incredibly good looking BUT you’re incredibly talented! You were hands down one of the best parts of Fargo Season Two and I loved watching you every time your character appeared. I was just as impressed by your strong and stoic demeanor as I was by your striking features and that really says something about you as an actor! I hope to see a lot more of you in the future and if you read this then please marry me.

Love, Sarah

What a guy, what a guy, what a heck of a guy. For those of you who haven’t hopped on the Fargo train, then I cannot recommend it highly enough. Both seasons are excellent and you have some fantastic eye candy to ogle at, too! Obviously.

So there you have it, this week’s Man Crush Monday: Zach McClarnon Edition! Where are my Fargo fans at? What other characters did you love on the show? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Summer Body Workout

Summer Body Workout

Hi everyone and welcome to another guest blog compliments of the lovely Jess over at Acorn Life & Fitness. I am so freaking excited about this post because lifewithlilred has never had a workout themed anything because I don’t workout! I was thrilled when I learned that Jess was a fitness guru and had her create a workout regimen special for my readers to get that perfect summer bod. Check out Jess’s post and then please be sure to give her page some love!

Summer Body Workout

When it comes to burning fat there’s only one way to do it: cardio. Unfortunately, I despise cardio with a passion so I’m always looking for ways around it. So far, I’ve found that doing a HIIT style cardio workout is the best way to burn as much fat as possible in a short amount of time, while also toning up! HIIT stands for High Intensity Interval Training so, like the name suggests, it’s short bursts of really hard work. For me, it’s better than going for a run or sweating it out on the cross trainer for 40 minutes because you can be done a lot quicker and you tend to get faster results.

The whole idea of HIIT training is to do an exercise for a short amount of time at full force and then move straight onto the next exercise. It’s pretty hard to get bored of what you’re doing which is a huge bonus for me!

This is a HIIT style cardio workout that I’ve designed. It can be adapted to your wants/needs but it’s a good place to start! You want to do each exercise with as much intensity as you can (while going at your own pace!) and try to only take a 30 second to 1 minute break between circuits. If you need to take more/longer breaks, then do. There’s no need to hurt yourself. But if you can, try not to rest during a circuit. I’ve put a step-by-step description of how to do each exercise at the bottom of the post if you’re unsure about how to do any of them!

I’m going to be making a series of these HIIT style workouts on my blog (targeted at core, upper, and lower body) so if you’re interested in trying out the different routines check it out!

Circuit One:

2 mins jog in place

1 min jumping jacks

2 mins jog in place

30 sec burpees

Circuit Two:

2 mins jog in place

1 min in and outs

2 mins jog in place

30 sec squat jumps

Circuit Three:

2 mins jog in place

1 min in and outs

2 mins jog in place

30 sec burpees

Circuit Four:

2 mins jog in place

1 min fast feet

2 mins jog in place

30 sec squat jumps

How to Safely do Each Exercise:

Jog in Place – Gently jog on the spot, you’ll get tired of this quite quickly so don’t push yourself too hard!

Jumping Jacks – Also known as star jumps, start standing with feet together and hands by your side. Jump into the air and land with your feet a little wider than shoulder width apart and hands swept up in the air and repeat.

Burpees – Starting in a standing position, crouch down to the floor with your hands and jump feet out into plank position (hands and feet on the floor with back straight). Now, lift feet back into crouching position and stand. Repeat as many times as you can in the time given.

In and Outs – Sitting on the floor, lift your legs off the floor and out in front of you (bend at the knees to make it easier) and rest your hands on the floor to support you. Your body should be in a ‘V’ shape with only your bum and hands touching the floor. To make the ‘in and out’ action, bring your knees and chest together and then back out again.

Squat Jumps – Start standing, feet shoulder width apart and hands out in front of you for balance. Squat down until your thighs are parallel with the floor (remember to stick your bum out!!) and then jump as high as you can. This all should be one swift motion.

Fast Feet – This is essentially just jogging in place REALLY fast. Like the name says, move your feet as fast as you can. You don’t need to lift your knees high!

^^^ Wasn’t that awesome? I so enjoyed working with Jess and am so impressed with how her guest post turned out. Once again, please take the time to look at Jess’s page at Acorn Life & Fitness. You won’t be disappointed! What is your workout routine (or lack-thereof)? What is your secret to staying in shape? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Away On Vaca

Away On Vaca

Hello everyone! I will be taking my vacation hiatus starting tomorrow and will not be available until the twelth. “Does this mean there won’t be blog posts on your page while you’re gone?” you might ask. The answer is NO because I have organized a vacation guest bloggers series for while I’m away. These posts were created special for all of my readers by new and old blogging friends and are there for your enjoyment until I return.

My guest bloggers have created some really fantastic articles for you guys and I just know that you’re going to love them. All of these guests will always have a home on lifewithlilred if they so choose and I hope that all of you will make them feel welcome on my page!

“Does this mean we’re not going to hear from you at all while you’re gone?” you might ask. The answer is NO because I will have access to WiFi at the cabin my family will be staying in. I will check in on the blog from time to time but for substantial vacation updates, you can find me on my personal Facebook page! I will be posting pictures, statuses, and the good ol’ Twistfire ads so please feel free to follow me on there for lots of vaca fun!

I hope all of you have a super fabulous time while I’m away and I look forward to hearing from all of you when I return! Ta ta for now because I’m off to North Carolina, baby! Much love. -Sarah

PS: Sorry I’ve been MIA these past few days – my summer classes, internship, and job with NCI has taken over my lifeeeeeeee!

Vacation Guest Bloggers Update

Hey everyone and happy Hump Day! There has been a change in the lineup for my vacation guest bloggers series because I had to 86 two bloggers from the list. However, thanks to my wonderful friends in the blogging world, I was able to fill their spaces with two of my previous guest bloggers on lifewithlilred. The new lineup will feature Miss Rehma from Glamorous Etoiles on the 8th and Tara from Tarabells on the 9th.

I want to thank Rehma and Tara so much for being willing to create an article for the series on a time crunch. They are total lifesavers and I’m so happy to have been able to add them to the lineup. But I’m even happier to have them as my blogging friends! You two are so amazing and I can’t wait to have you both featured on my page again. Let’s give a round of applause to these supergirls, shall we?

Summer Facebook Follows

Hey everyone and happy Tuesday! With summer time just around the corner, there is no better time to be following me on Facebook! My summer will be pretty jam packed because of my internship and a full time school schedule so I can’t promise that I’ll be able to get on the ol’ blog as often as I’d like. However, I am super active on the FB so if you like to keep up to date on all things Lil Red, please don’t be afraid to follow me on my personal Facebook page…Especially if you’d like to hear all about my upcoming vaca on June 3rd before it hits the blog when I return!

As always, a like on my page for lifewithlilred is appreciated but not really necessary because I kind of suck at posting on it! If you really want to make your favorite little redhead happy, you’ll click on my Twistfire ads on my personal FB page. It helps me get paid which, in turn, equals happiness. Because as the old saying goes: “Money can’t buy happiness but it buys things that make me happy”! 😉

I live under a rock and don’t have Twitter, Instagram, or Pinterest but if you do any of my three requests mentioned above feel free to comment “Follow me” and what you did. I will either A) Follow your blog or B) Shoot you a FB friend request if you provide me with the link. It only seems right to return the favor! Muchos gracias and much love. -Sarah

Liebster Award #6

Liebster Award #6

Hi everyone and happy Thursday! I hope everyone’s week is going just swimmingly so far. Mine is going fine, thanks for asking. I am so excited to be nominated for my sixth Liebster Award here on lifewithlilred by my friend, Camille, over at Camille Shern! Her blog is a lot of fun so please be sure to check it out and give it some love! As you guys know, with all of these blogging awards comes a set of rules so check them out and then see how I answered the questions asked by the lovely Camille. Take a look:

The Rules:

  • Tag the person who nominated you and thank them.
  • Answer the ten questions you are given.
  • Nominate ten new bloggers and tag them.
  • Give them ten new questions to answer.
  • Notify your nominees.

Q & A:

1. Describe your blogging style in FIVE words?

Unique, humorous, engaging, fun, and quirky.

2. What is ONE beauty product you can’t live without? Why?

Red lipstick. Particularly the shade Pure Red from NYX. The bold red lip is my signature look and it makes me feel confident and beautiful every time I wear it.

3. If you were to do a makeup look for ONE person for the rest of your life, who would it be and why?

No one. I suck at doing makeup for other people. I can barely do my own makeup! 😉

4. What is ONE piece of advice you would give your younger self when it comes to beauty? Why?

That beauty is more about being confident and comfortable in your own skin than what your makeup or hair looks like. I think every younger person is always trying to fit in with the trends and what’s popular but it’s important to stay true to what you like so your own unique, personal style can be developed.

5. If you were not a blogger, what would you be doing right now?

I would be doing what I’m usually doing! Going to school, working, and being a baller.

6. What is ONE funny beauty horror story you had?

Every time I dye my hair with my trademark Runway Red by Vidal Sassoon is a horror story. Whenever I wash the dye out, it looks like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre was committed in my shower.

7. What is ONE product that you keep inside your every day makeup bag that you don’t really use at all?

Hmm… I don’t think I have an answer to this one. I’m not one to go makeup crazy at the store so everything that I have in my makeup stash is what I use as part of my daily routine.

8. What is the first thing you do in the morning as soon as you wake up?

Ugh, I hate saying this but I check my phone and Facebook! Such a millennial. -_-

9. What is ONE beauty routine you can’t live without?

Bubble baths!!!!

10. What is your main goal as a blogger?

To reach a wide variety of people and make new friends.

My Nominees (I’m only doing three):

My Questions For You:

  1. What was your favorite childhood toy?
  2. What is your favorite article of clothing to shop for?
  3. How about your least favorite?
  4. What is one of your guilty pleasures?
  5. Favorite TV show to binge watch?
  6. Favorite fragrance?
  7. Favorite candy?
  8. How do you like to spend your free time?
  9. Are you going on an upcoming summer vacation?
  10. Where is one place that you would like to travel to?

So there you have it, lifewithlilred’s Liebster Award #6! Thanks again to Camille at Camille Shern for the nomination! How would you answer some of the questions that Camille asked her nominees? How about some of the questions that I asked of mine? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Perfect Picnic Food

Perfect Picnic Food

Hi everyone and happy weekend! Today and Sunday are going to be kind of special here on lifewithlilred because both days will be featuring a guest post from my sweet friend, Zeighn, over at oneselementblog. When Zeighn first contacted me, she mentioned that she’s a total fashionista and lives a healthy lifestyle through Veganism and daily yoga.

Initially, my first thoughts were “Great, because I love to eat” so I asked Zeighn if she could create a post with some of her favorite recipes for summer time snacks and drinks. Today will feature some food perfect for a picnic while tomorrow will show you some mouthwatering beverages to wash it down with. Take a look at the post that Zeighn created special for my readers and please be sure to give her page some love:

Perfect Picnic Food

Pack up these delicious meals and head outdoors for a refreshing outing. Best part? Everything is healthy and Vegan! All recipes will be linked down below. 🙂

Make sure not to forget your picnic blanket! A picnic is not complete without a blanket, basket, and lots of fun!

^^^ Omg. Can you say YUM?! All of Zeighn’s favorite recipes sound amazing! If you want more from my lovely guest blogger this weekend, check out her blog or follow her on Instagram. Thanks again, beautiful!

My birthday party at the end of the month is going to be of a garden party theme so now I need everyone’s opinions. What recipe listed above should I attempt to make for my guests? What recipes do you plan on trying? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Wanted: June Guest Bloggers

Hey everyone and happy Thursday! As you guys know, I am on the hunt for guest bloggers to help maintain lifewithlilred while I’m away on vacation from June third to the eleventh. I would much rather have guest bloggers showcasing their talent on my page than nothing at all while I’m gone so if you’d like a chance to shine here on lifewithlilred, please get in touch! I’d like to be able to prepare the guest posts for publishing and have them scheduled before I leave so I have nothing blog related to worry about while I’m having some fun in the sun.

I also am looking for two more guest bloggers for the last two Sundays of May. If you are interested in writing a guest post for either month, please shoot me an email at: sarah.mush6794@gmail.com. Just note that I am a stickler for grammar and spelling and just because you send me an email doesn’t necessarily mean you are “in”! If you have emailed me before and I haven’t gotten back to you, don’t be afraid to reach out to me again! My inbox has been flooded after publishing previous posts about my need for guest bloggers so there’s a good chance that I might not have seen everything!

Once again, if you are seriously interested, shoot me an email at: sarah.mush6794@gmail.com!

❤ THANKS!!!  ❤
