Keep Your Medical Clinic Healthy with These Essential Improvements!

Keep Your Medical Clinic Healthy with These Essential Improvements!

Those who own a medical business are often stretched when it comes to resources. But there’s no getting past the fact that most medical facilities could do with some improvement. But in what areas could improvements of your clinic be made? Here’s a quick list that you may find useful.

Increasing comfort: Medical facilities aren’t typically known for being the most comfortable places to be. People usually aren’t there in the best of states, they often feel nervous and can’t quite settle. While this side of things is hard to help with, ensuring that the layout of the practice means they have space to move around and get themselves comfortable, perhaps with a degree of privacy. If your current space isn’t compatible with the ideas you have to make the area more comforting for patients, then consider contacting experts in pharma facility construction to consult you on how best to rebuild the space in a way that works best for both employees and patients.

It’s possible that your medical facility could be improved tremendously by simply upgrading the furniture there. I’m talking about in the waiting room and in the doctor’s office. Just giving everything in there an update – even something like the receptionist’s desk – will make the place look much more inviting. And that will help increase the comfort of everyone who steps foot into your clinic. Take a look at some hospital furniture and see if there’s anything you can do to step things up.

Connectivity: A lot of medical facility owners don’t think much about Internet connectivity at their clinic. Sure, they know that they need it to some extent. But you’ve got to consider just how much data is now being processed through medical networks. It’s more important than ever that the Internet connection quality of your facility is fast and consistent.

Loading or updating medical records when your connection isn’t great is just going to slow down the process for everyone. And when it comes to this line of work, any time you can save is good. The longer people have to wait, the more agitated they become and the less patients your doctors get to see.

With improved connectivity, your facility will run much more efficiently. You can then begin utilizing medical practice management solutions to automate tasks and simplify processes. Billing, scheduling, inventory, and document management will become a breeze instead of a headache. Other practical solutions to boost connectivity and efficiency between your facility and patients include the option for text message or email communication. You can also outsource and hire a medical virtual receptionist if you are struggling with staff shortages or would like to lend a helping hand to your current staff.

Security: That reference to data in the previous section brings up another important factor. You need to make sure that all of this data is properly protected. Increasing connectivity to include things like better WiFi is great. But if you’re not careful, this can open you up to cybercrime.

Medical records sell for more on the black market than credit card details do. So criminals are always looking for weak spots in the Internet security of the healthcare industry. You cannot allow your clinic to become an easy target. Ensure your Internet security measures are impeccable. This will help you gain trust with your patients.

Accessibility: Accessibility is probably the most important item on this list. After all, a clinic that the most needing of healthcare assistance can’t access properly isn’t much of a clinic at all! If you have a healthcare facility, then you probably already have met the ADA’s requirements for wheelchair ramps, as well as provide accessible bathrooms, and the like for those who need it. But there’s more that you can do.

If you hook your clinic up with telemedicine facilities, then you’ll increase accessibility by an amazing margin. This process can actually be a lot simpler than you might think. And for those of your patients who find it difficult to even leave the house, then it could be an absolute lifesaver. (I used that figuratively at first… but when you think about it, it could also quite literally be a lifesaver!)

The Best Way To Have A Sane Christmas

Standard
The Best Way To Have A Sane Christmas

The festive season is here and everybody’s already lost their minds. Of course, that’s all part of the joy of Christmas but it can be a little bit of a headache when every home, shop, restaurant, or outdoor marketplace you enter is coated in an overwhelming assortment of lights, colors, foods, and an unimaginable quantity of gifts; most of which you never even knew you needed before then, but you’re now absolutely positive you, your friend, or some distant relative cannot possibly live without a Walking Dead mug set or a miniature drone.

So, where to begin? You may not have much money so you want to do this conservatively and quickly. Well, at least, you probably won’t have much money after it’s all gone on the food, gifts for friends and family, or any traveling you’ll most likely be doing over the holiday season. But fear not! There are ways to still find time and money to make your home look perfect and feel a little saner during this chaotic time of year.

First of all, a warm home is a happy home. There’s no wonder you’re not feeling very ‘Christmassy’ if your home’s freezing. The first step to creating that festive glow you crave is to insulate as cheaply as you can. Home glass and glazing is always a safe bet. Professional companies are experts when it comes to interior design and you could really let your home flourish if you expertly weaved a new set of doors or windows into your festive, warm, cozy little home.

You can really make everything blend into the same common aesthetic or theme if you work at it and a warm, colorful home is definitely a great way to induce those same warm, colorful, festive feelings within yourself. So much heat is lost through poorly-insulated homes, so make sure you’re safe and sensible this winter. There are always ways to converse heating and money so whether you want to just warm up certain rooms, the loft, or the entire home, make sure you do so properly.

holidays1.png

 Brrrr!

Shop around for festive decorations! When you see vibrant, slightly-over-the-top decorations, gigantic trees, and an overzealous assortment of presents, foods and goodness knows what else, it can be difficult to know where to begin. It can also be difficult to figure out whether you can even afford such luxuries or whether there’s the time to adorn your house in such a bonkers manner.

Don’t be fooled by the colors and pretty lights. Beautiful decorations don’t have to cost you an arm and a leg. In fact, given that the quality of most streamers, baubles, and tinsel is roughly the same across most stores, shop around for the best price! If you find something that’s perfect, think about the fact that you can use it for years to come. These are all investments and good decorations aren’t just for Christmas; well, they aren’t just for one Christmas, anyway.

You should definitely consider hopping on the bandwagon when it comes to artificial Christmas trees. Rather than shedding ridiculous amounts of cash for a real tree each year and then dealing with the messy aftermath of clearing up broken branches afterwards, opt for a solution that you can use year after year. My family has legitimately been using the same artificial tree for the past seven years and it still looks great! …I think so anyways!

Remember, Christmas can be relatively inexpensive if you invest in goodies that you could reuse next year. In 2017, you can feel festive without spending a penny on making your home look nice!

Keeping Your Health Intact During The Festivities: Top Advice You Need

Keeping Your Health Intact During The Festivities: Top Advice You Need

There are so many benefits to the Christmas holidays. For one thing, you can spend time with your loved ones. And also, you get to enjoy a load of parties during the holiday season. But although it’s a very good time of the year, there are many things during the Christmas holidays that can jeopardize your health. So here is some of the top advice you need to keep your health intact during the festivities.

Watch Your Food Intake: With so many meals out, you can easily pile on the pounds over the Christmas period. After all, most of the grub you will be eating will be full of calories. But if you do put on weight, you could end up becoming overweight. And then you might end up running into health issues such as high blood pressure and diabetes. So be careful with your food intake over the festivities.

Opt for a healthy dinner which will help you get enough nutrients to stay fit and well.  There are some great cranberry salads around at this time of the year! And it’s not just dinners you need to be careful with this Christmas. Just because the sweetie tin is in full view doesn’t mean you need to keep picking at them (easier said than done!). You can easily end up having more than your daily calorie allowance! And as well as being damaging to your physical health, you could also damage your oral health, too. No one wants to end up needing fillings after the Christmas holidays!

Keep Warm and Cozy: It’s also so important that you stay nice and warm during the holidays. Although you might want to wear a killer dress during Christmas parties, you might end up with the flu. Make sure you wear a coat, scarf, and gloves while you are outside to ensure that you stay toasty during the festivities. And keep the heating on to stay warm in the house. If you do feel ill during the holidays and want to contact a doctor, you could always use a Healthcare App. That way, you can get in touch and ask for advice from the comfort of your home! Nice!

Keep Your Drinking Under Control: You will drink more than you do the rest of the year when it comes to the festivities around Christmas. I know some of you are bound to get merry during the office work parties! And not forgetting the actual day where you will drink from morning to the early hours! But if you are silly with your drinking, you could put your health in jeopardy. For one thing, you could cause permanent damage to your liver. You might be surprised how damaging a boozy session can be to your organ. Not only that but drinking a lot can cause you to pile on the pounds. Alongside all the Christmas food, you could soon be overweight! And as well as this, drinking could put your health at risk if you get behind the wheel. Make sure you have fun but don’t go crazy with your drinking during the festivities.

 Cheers!

And once Christmas is over, you can start to work on keeping your health intact for the new year. You can read our previous blog for help achieving the body of your dreams.

Forgotten November Empty

Forgotten November Empty

Hi everyone and happy Hump Day! So after going through my finished products to recycle after yesterday’s November Finishes post, I realized that I had forgotten one of my empties! I am actually really surprised that I did because I was so excited to finally be done with the product after working on it for about a year and a half. What beauty product lasts that long, you may ask? YOU’RE ABOUT TO FIND OUT! Take a look and let’s discuss:

Would I Use Again?

  • Dickinson’s witch hazel: YES!!

Why/Why Not?

Witch hazel: As I mentioned above, I have been working on this bottle of witch hazel for a long time. This stuff has been my go to for keeping my five nose piercings clean for years. With two piercings on each nostril and my septum done, it is easy to see why infections might be common so every morning I give my little nosie a good cleaning with the product. Thanks to my witch hazel regimen, I rarely get unsightly bumps or redness around my piercings and it has also helped eliminate some of the blackheads that gather on my nostrils, too!

I did not use the Dickinson’s brand prior to finishing this bottle but I have been using witch hazel on my piercings for the better part of three years and would never use anything different. If you are looking for a cheap and effective way to keep your favorite piercings looking and feeling clean than I cannot recommend starting a witch hazel regimen enough!

Special sorry shout out to Dickinson’s for forgetting about you in yesterday’s post but no hard feelings because I already cracked open a new bottle last week! 🙂

So there you have it, my Forgotten November Empty! What do you use to keep your piercings clean? Is anyone planning on getting a new body mod soon? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Sometimes, It’s The Soft Skills That Land You The Job

Standard

Sometimes, we all make the mistake of focusing a little too much on how hard skills can add to your employ-ability. There’s no denying that some technical skills are a must-have in certain fields of employment. But that’s not to say that spending time on your soft skills is negligible. It’s anything but. Here, we’re going to look at why soft skills are important in all roles and how they can actually be the one defining skill of a career.

Communication: Good written and verbal communication is vital in just about any job. If you can’t get an idea across to your audience effectively, it’s your failing, not theirs. For the crowd pleasers and those who actually enjoy public speaking, there are plenty of careers that you can make of it. For instance, there’s a big market for motivational speakers nowadays and there are always businesses in need of salespeople.

job

 Pexels Image

Self-Motivation and Management: Sure, employers like someone who works from orders and can keep up to the standards set to them. But you need a bit of self-determination, too. You have to show that you’re able to operate independently and without having to constantly be checked on. Working on your time management, in particular, is essential. The better you can prioritize tasks and fit them in your own time scale, the more of a catch you’ll be.

job1.png

 Pexels Image

Teamwork: Even in jobs where you’re typically doing work alone, you are likely to be asked to collaborate with someone else at some point. Improving your own teamwork skills isn’t all that hard, either. Sometimes, you just have to spend more time around people. Volunteer, for instance. While you’re there, give yourself a talking to every time you catch yourself blatantly opposing others ideas or making them feel unimportant.

job2.png

 Teamwork makes the dream work!

Conflict Resolution: Working peaceably in a team is one thing. Being able to properly deal with a team that has become hostile is a whole other kettle of fish. It’s also a skill that some consider immensely more important. Conflict resolution is the main skill in demand for people that work in environments like an HR consultancy. Given how many businesses use HR specialists to deal with their employees, it’s easy to see the demand for such a skill.

job3.png

Pexels Image

Problem Solving: Objective critical thinking and problem solving are traits that employers find too rare. A lot of people are too close to the work and too invested to be able to think critically in their job. If you’ve always been the objective problem-solving type, then you should look into a job in analysis. Whether it’s looking at money, business processes, or data, the critical thinking model has become particularly popular in business as of late.

job4.png

Still can’t solve this problem. ^

Regardless of whether it’s hard or soft, a skill is a skill. Don’t be afraid to spend time practicing on weak points even if they don’t feel technically important. Above all, don’t be afraid to hype it up a bit on your resume. Be your own cheerleader and it will help raise your confidence in your already wonderful abilities!

Personal Debt: Answers You Need To Put Yourself Back In Control

Standard
Personal Debt: Answers You Need To Put Yourself Back In Control

There comes a certain point in human lives when we think that we are in sole possession of the “right” outlook on life. People younger than us haven’t lived as long, haven’t seen what we’ve seen. Those older than us don’t understand how the world has changed and haven’t changed with it. An older person’s attitude to mental health may seem unenlightened to us because we expect them to be more conservative.

What we sometimes don’t grasp is that they do understand mental health issues and know a bit more about avoiding them. Consumer debt totals keep rising pretty much worldwide; certainly in the West, anyway. We’ve become almost comfortable with a “manageable” amount of personal debt. The older you get, the less likely you are to be okay with it, though, and there are signs that the seniors have it right.

Debt Is Linked To Mental Health Issues: If you looked through your accounts and found that you owed more than you thought, but weren’t at risk of default, would you be okay with that? And when I say “okay” I don’t mean “could you push it to the back of your mind for the moment?”. We know it’s there, but it’s inconvenient. So we end up resolving to get it sorted out later. There’s always a later. And though you may think it’s locked up safely in the back of your mind, the door is wide open. Though you may not perceive it, the stress is there.

Why The Seniors May Have It Right: Young adults and those in their thirties and forties have an attitude to debt that has arisen with the greater availability of it. On one hand you always know someone worse off than yourself. On the other hand there is the fact that if you’re managing it now, it’s easy to think a little more won’t hurt.

Here it is useful to think of the boiling frog theory. If you put a frog into boiling water, it will instantly leap out. Of course it will, it’s too hot. But if you put a frog in cold or lukewarm water, and gradually increase the heat, it will stay in there until it is boiled to death*. Debt can be like that – you don’t perceive it as a problem until it quite clearly and damagingly is. Because older people are less conditioned to be okay with debt, they’re less likely to borrow. They’re also more likely to refuse to take on any more debt.

money2.png

Wikipedia Image

What Should You Do About It? If you look at your accounts and your debt is above what you earn in a year, consider homeowner loans. These may allow you to consolidate all your debt into a single payment which will be more manageable than all the smaller ones. Having it all in the one place also makes you less likely to overlook a payment and get landed with fees and charges.

Secondly, if you feel swamped by debt payments, speak to someone about it. In the first instance, a parent is the right person to speak to. They can bring a steadier perspective to the issue which will help you see it less as a tidal wave and more as an issue to be overcome. Debt need never be a terminal problem. It can be highly inconvenient. However, if you’ve made the mistake of over-extending your borrowing, don’t compound it by panicking. All this will do is increase the stress you are trying to banish.

*Don’t worry – this has been tested by scientists and it has been established that a frog will jump out if the water gets too hot. People in a certain amount of debt may not be so proactive, though. 🙂

Suffered A Financial Loss? Here’s How To Deal With The Situation & Get Back On Your Feet

Standard
Suffered A Financial Loss? Here’s How To Deal With The Situation & Get Back On Your Feet

When it comes to your career, you may have made the decision that a lot of people have made and opted to go down the entrepreneurial route. No one said running a business would be easy – it’s a well-known fact that within the first year of launching, half of all new businesses fail. However, when things start to unravel and go wrong, that doesn’t make it any easier to deal with, does it?

If your business has suffered a financial loss, you’re probably not sure what to do next. You’re probably wondering what the next steps that you should take are. When things start to go wrong, the most important thing is not to panic. Because if you panic, you may rush into making a decision that you will later regret. So, it’s important to keep your head and think carefully about what steps to take next.

To help make it easier for you to cope with a financial loss, below are some tips and pieces of advice that you may find useful:

Investigate What Has Caused the Issue: The first step that you take should be to investigate what has caused the issue to occur in the first place. Financial losses don’t just randomly occur; there’s always a reason for them. It could be that you invested in a new product and that product has unfortunately failed to sell, leaving you out of pocket. Or, it could be that your accountant has calculated your taxes wrong and has left you short of funds because of it. If the reason for your financial loss is due to someone else, it might be worth contacting professional negligence solicitors. Whether it was an accident or not, if you’ve been left out of pocket and haven’t been reimbursed, you may have a case.

Learn From Your Mistakes: As a business owner, if you want to be successful, you need to be constantly learning and growing. It’s important to not just take mistakes at face value. If you want to make a success of your venture, you need to learn from your mistakes and ensure that they don’t happen again. By learning from your mistakes, you can up the chances of your business growing into a prosperous and profitable venture in the future.

Try to Find a Way to Keep Your Business Afloat: It’s all well and good saying to learn from your mistakes. But if you don’t know how to keep your business afloat while you recover what you lost, you could end up having to shut down for good. You need to think about your options, could you get a short-term loan perhaps? Or, would you be willing to have an investor who acts as a silent business partner? If you want to ensure that your business stays afloat, you need to find a way to get out of the mess that you’re in.

Hopefully, the tips and advice above should make the process of dealing with a financial loss a little bit easier and less stressful.

November Finishes

November Finishes

Hi everyone and happy Tuesday! The month of November has been a really busy one but it has brought me beaucoup bottles of finished beauty products to discuss with you. I am actually so happy about all of these empties because they were the ones that were legitimately taking forever to finish. Thanks to these completed products seen below I can now break out goodies that I have been waiting an eternity to use, like my cocoa butter from The Body Shop and my pink grapefruit St. Ives cleanser. Happy day! So now, without further ado, take a look at my November Finishes and let’s discuss:

empty.jpeg

Would I Use Again?

  • Pure & Basic Creme Brulee lotion: YES!
  • Bath & Body Works Mango Mandarin spray: YES
  • St. Ives Indulgent Coconut Milk body wash: YES
  • St. Ives Oatmeal Scrub & Mask: YES
  • Jergens BB Hand cream: YES
  • The Body Shop Aloe night cream: YES
  • The Body Shop Vitamin E moisturizer: YES

Why/Why Not?

Pure & Basic lotion: This Creme Brulee scented lotion smells freaking AMAZING! It literally smells like you are rubbing yourself down with vanilla cake batter and I can definitely get down with that. I got this huge bottle of Pure & Basic lotion at TJMaxx for a whole six dollars and it has lasted me well over three months. This lotion absorbs quickly but is highly moisturizing and I would totally recommend and use it again.

My mom actually taught me a fun trick after I was done with the bottle of Pure & Basic this week and was lamenting over the extra product that gets stuck in the bottle. She told me that when this happens, she puts some water in the bottle and then shakes it up to use as a body milk in the shower the next day. So clever!

B&BW spray: Normally I’m a Country Apple girl when it comes to my Bath & Body Works perfume sprays but I love the Mango Mandarin! I got myself six bottles during their throwback sale in the summer at three dollars a bottle and I am so pleased with that purchase! My favorite thing to do is to layer this spray with my Satsuma spray from TBS for a longer lasting fragrance. It took me about six months to finish this perfume.

St. Ives body wash: The Indulgent Coconut Milk body wash by St. Ives is so delicious. I really enjoy their products and this is probably my favorite body wash by them. It smells completely delectable – even better than The Body Shop’s coconut fragrance, which is really saying something! It also lathers like a dream which provides you with a shower or bubble bath that is purely pampering and relaxing. It took me about three months to finish this product.

St. Ives scrub: Like I just said, I really really like St. Ives products so of course I loved my oatmeal scrub! This product is a really gentle exfoliater so it won’t dry out your skin which is great during the chilly winter months. It smells great and it left my skin looking perfectly peaches and cream afterwards. My scrub lasted me about a month and a half and now I am on to using their pink grapefruit scrub which I am sure will be discussed soon! Spoiler Alert! It smells AMAZING.

Jergens hand cream: I blogged about this wonder cream before so for the full article please check out the link provided! If not, I will say that this is hands down the best hand cream that I have ever used. As a hardcore germophobe and hand washer, it is not hard for my hands to become extremely red and raw within a few days. This cream has provided me with relief as well as a formula that is non greasy and fast absorbing so that I can use it again and again with no lingering residue. I have used this product off and on since February and cannot recommend it enough.

TBS night cream: I really liked the Aloe night cream! I got it for free with an online purchase a few months ago and it made my skin feel so lush before bedtime. I had never used anything from the Aloe line before and I would use it again but I still prefer Vitamin E over it. What I did like was that the cream was a heavier texture but it still absorbed well which is exactly what I look for in a night cream. It took me about a month and a half to finish this product.

TBS moisturizer: I have been an avid lover of The Body Shop’s Vitamin E line for quite some time now. I think that this moisturizer is simply the best and am so happy that I have another jar of it in back stock so that I can continue using it daily. If you are looking for a moisturizer that is light, nourishing, and sits well under makeup than look no further. The Vitamin E moisturizer will leave your skin looking and feeling like a million bucks. It took me about a month and a half to finish this product.

I am SO happy with all of my empties this month, 1) because they were all effective and fabulous and 2) I am looking forward to using more new products! Most of my finishes from this month have been with me for a long time now so I am happy to retire these bottles and move onto some new bath and body and skin care goodies in December!

So there you have it, my November Finishes! What beauty products have you used up this month? What beauty product can you not live without during the winter? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Don’t Make These Common Errors With Your Heating System This Winter

Standard

At this time of the year, it’s vital to switch on your heating system. After all, the weather is freezing so you need it on to ensure that your family stays nice and toasty. However, a lot of people make errors when it comes to their heating system and they pay the price when their bill arrives. Here are some common errors people make with their heating system so that you can avoid them!

Not Getting it Checked out Before Switching it on: It’s easy to turn on your heating system and then walk away without a second’s thought. But do you know if your system is working efficiently? Before you switch on your heater, you need to make sure you get the heating system checked out by a professional. They will check for any problems and will make sure that you won’t end up with a high bill. Also, in between maintenance appointments, make sure you are changing your air filter which can become clogged up with dust over time which restricts the airflow. And as this feature explains, the longer it goes on, it will be harder to keep your home at the right temperature.

heating repair services

Setting it to High All Day Long: A lot of people switch their heating system on high during the winter due to the freezing weather. But if you do this, you will end up with an expensive bill. Make sure you get a thermostat installed which will let you adjust the heating during the day. That way, it can be on low when your family is outside of the home. It will stop you from having to set it to high for the whole day. And remember, putting it on high won’t make the furnace heat your home any quicker so be patient with your heating system!

Not Replacing it When Necessary: You need to make sure that you are replacing your old heating system when it’s past its sell-by date. Furnaces tend to last around 18 years, but if you are noticing problems, it might be time to get a new one. Safety for your family is paramount in this situation. You can find lots of information online about new systems available such as on furnaceprices.ca. There are even some great high-tech options which would be perfect for your family!

Another thing to note is the importance of replacing the heating oil when necessary to avoid not having heat on a cold winter’s day. You can save yourself a lot of hassle in this regard when you look into the auto delivery benefits of getting oil bought right to your door once a month (or whenever you may require it).

Not Making Sure the Doors and Windows are Air Sealed: It can be frustrating when your home seems to be freezing even though your heating is on. But rather than turning the heating higher (it will cost a fortune), you should ensure that your doors and windows are properly sealed. That way, no air is escaping during the winter months. You can buy some excellent sealing products from hardware stores. And remember to keep doors closed while the heating is on to retain the temperature. Just don’t forget to keep hoovering as well-sealed doors and windows can cause the air to go stale. As I said before, during this time, you might find more dust in your home.

***AND: Remember to get a good carbon monoxide alarm put next to your furnace. That way, it will alert you if there is an issue!
