Hey everyone and happy Thursday! This past week I completely finished all of my holiday shopping – gifts wrapped and all and let me tell you, I could not be happier! If there’s one thing that rings true about my style of holiday shopping, it’s that it is all done online, as my featured image says. You can call me the Queen of the Amazon because Amazon.com is always my go to website for gift purchasing.
In my family, I have five people to shop for as well as my boyfriend and best friend, so figuring out the perfect gifts for seven people proved to be a bit difficult. But fear not! I am going to share with you guys my techniques to getting your holiday shopping done as efficiently as possible:
- Set a Price Limit: The first thing that I do when the holiday season rolls around is set a price limit for how much I am comfortable spending. Whether that be in total or for each individual person, I make a budget and try very hard to stick to it. Once you know what price range you’re working with, is when you can narrow down the type of presents that you will be giving.
- Create Your Gifting Style: What are your go to’s when it comes to gift giving? My method of choice is giving presents that are compatible with a person’s favorite hobby. Do they like gardening or working outdoors? Pick out a sweet bird feeder and some seed packets! How about baking? Snag some must have ingredients in a cook’s arsenal like flour, sugar, and some cute cookie cutters. Once you know your style of gift giving, it should be easy to come up with some great ideas for everyone you need to shop for.
- Make a List: And check it twice! After you establish your gift giving style, create a list that can be subject to change for your shopping that needs done. I composed an email to myself for all of my shopping that included who I was buying for and gift ideas for each person. As I completed different purchases, I went back to the email and edited it with a big “DONE!” next to each thing that I could check off. This helped keep me organized and it kept me on target for what I wanted which helped me avoid senseless purchasing that strayed from my list.
- Scour the Deals: If you’re shopping at the local mall or from the comfort of home, it is important to make sure that you are getting the best deals for your purchases. Sign up for email updates for the stores that you plan on hitting up to receive notifications of upcoming promotions and discounts. If you are a fan of shopping online, like myself, then I cannot recommend downloading Honey enough! They will hook you up with all of the best promotions for the site that you’re shopping on without having to search for promo codes or discounts. So handy!
- Keep Organized: As you finish up your shopping and begin receiving the parcels that you ordered make sure that you keep everything nice and organized. Set aside space in your closet for your present stockpile and continue to reference your list in regards to your purchases and budget. Then, once all of your shopping is done, pencil in an hour or two to wrap up your presents to avoid prying eyes in the home!
Holiday shopping can be stressful but it doesn’t have to be! If you keep chipping away at your list a bit at a time, soon you will have a present stockpile just begging to be wrapped! Believe me, the sigh of relief you can breathe once you’re all done will make it all worth it!
What is your gift giving style? What is your favorite gift that you have ever received? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Hey everyone and happy Thursday! As you guys know, I am on the hunt for guest bloggers to help maintain lifewithlilred while I’m away on vacation from June third to the eleventh. I would much rather have guest bloggers showcasing their talent on my page than nothing at all while I’m gone so if you’d like a chance to shine here on lifewithlilred, please get in touch! I’d like to be able to prepare the guest posts for publishing and have them scheduled before I leave so I have nothing blog related to worry about while I’m having some fun in the sun.
I also am looking for two more guest bloggers for the last two Sundays of May. If you are interested in writing a guest post for either month, please shoot me an email at: firstname.lastname@example.org. Just note that I am a stickler for grammar and spelling and just because you send me an email doesn’t necessarily mean you are “in”! If you have emailed me before and I haven’t gotten back to you, don’t be afraid to reach out to me again! My inbox has been flooded after publishing previous posts about my need for guest bloggers so there’s a good chance that I might not have seen everything!
Once again, if you are seriously interested, shoot me an email at: email@example.com!
❤ THANKS!!! ❤

Hey everyone and TGIF! One of my ways to make an extra buck is participating on online survey websites. They’re a great way to earn money, gift cards, and various other rewards and deals. I recently just received a twenty-five dollar Amazon gift card from completing surveys on iPoll. Despite one major issue that I had with the website, I’m overall semi pleased with it, so let’s discuss:
The nice thing about iPoll is that they give you five dollars automatically just for signing up for the website. I love when survey sites do that because it gives you a great head start to getting bigger rewards. I also really appreciated the amount of money that completing each survey was worth. Some sites that I’ve used in the past were only paying pocket change for surveys. Not iPoll. Almost every survey on their site was a dollar or more so that made getting to the twenty-five dollar cash out goal a piece of cake.
Unfortunately, the quickness of completing the surveys did not translate at all to the receiving of monies. After you completed a survey, you then had to wait for what you submitted to pend. This could take one to over six weeks which just didn’t fly with me. The biggest pain in the ass was when I was one pending survey away from reaching the twenty-five dollar goal and it took the final survey EIGHT WEEKS to go through. At that point, it was easy to make the assumption that the website was just trying to hold on to the cash for as long as they possibly could before rewarding their participants. Not cool.
It took me sending an email to customer service for the final pending survey to go through but the waiting game was only just beginning. After I chose the Amazon gift card as my reward, I had to wait an additional six weeks to receive it. Frankly, I wasn’t thrilled with that, either. I finally got the email containing my e-gift card last week and now that I have it, I don’t plan on doing any more business with iPoll. I think that it’s a great site if you’re willing to wait around for months to receive your rewards but I’m just not that patient. It’s too bad, too, because up until those issues, iPoll was easily one of the better survey sites that I’ve used. Oh, well!
So there you have it, my iPoll Website Review! Who participates in taking online surveys? Which ones do you like the best? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
Hi everyone and welcome to another week here on lifewithlilred! I hope all of you had a fabulous weekend! As the title of this post may suggest, I’m still on the hunt for guest bloggers. I have the month of April covered with a wonderful post that’s in the works as we speak so now I have my sights set on May. Ideally, I’d like to have a guest post on the last two Sundays of the month but I’m not opposed to having more!
What I want is a team, so to speak, of reliable and talented bloggers that I can turn to for these next few months because they’re going to be insanely busy. I would much rather have posts from my blogging friends than no posts at all when I don’t have time to write them! I’m looking for everything from beauty and fashion gurus to fitness and health tips and everything in between. If this interests you then PLEASE email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org. If you comment on here but don’t send an email, I’m not going to hunt you down! (I sound like a teacher there. -_-)
Guest Bloggers near and far, I STILL Want You so don’t be afraid to get in touch if you are interested! How was everyone’s weekend? Did anyone attend a concert or see a movie? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
Hi everyone and happy Hump Day! A week or so ago I posted the article Beauty Bloggers: HELP! Again. because I was in search of a new serum to add into my daily beauty routine. I was so blown away by all of the wonderful suggestions and helpful tips that all of you commented. But I want to give my friend, Angela, from dazzelme an extra special shout out because she was kind enough to send me some Avon serum samples in the mail.
Angela was so incredibly sweet and helpful when we communicated via email. It really was such a treat to receive a package in the mail from her with a catalogue stuffed with samples and a handwritten note. I am so excited to test out all of the goodies that she sent me and am so happy to have gained such a fabulous new friend! I encourage all of you to check out her page at dazzelme and be sure to take a look at all of the gorgeous Avon products that Angela has for sale! Thank you again so much, Angela! You’re amazing! ❤
Hi everyone and happy Hump Day! After a successful guest blogging stint by Nida over at ShopaholicBlogs in the month of March, I am now looking for future guest bloggers to write for lifewithlilred. I’d love to have one to two guest posts on my blog per month so if you have something in mind that you think is worth sharing here on my page, please email me at email@example.com!
And as always, follows on my personal Facebook page and likes on lifewithlilred’s page are much appreciated! While you’re browsing on my pages, please make sure that you click on my ads from Twistfire Media because it helps me get paid! Feel free to email me on the address above if you would like to sign up for Twistfire and get paid to use Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest.
ALSO: I GOT A SUMMER INTERNSHIP!! On Monday, Tri-C called me and offered me three summer internships with different departments. Unfortunately, I could only pick one so I went with a position as the intern in the Learning Commons! I’m so happy I could scream!
I know this post was kind of a hodge podge of a bunch of different stuff but all of the points raised above were short enough that I grouped it together! I hope everyone is having a fantastic week so far! Much love. -Sarah
