Monday Update: Special Delivery Edition

Hi everyone and a very happy Monday to all of you! This Friday, a super special package was delivered to yours truly from a giveaway that I won and I’m so hyped that I just had to blog about it. Seriously, I never win anything. Ever. So, obviously, I was extremely excited when I found out that I won a giveaway that the darling Julie was running on her page, Beauty & A Book. I wouldn’t say that I have “bad” luck, so to speak, but my luck is never exactly “good” either, so after a super sucky week thanks to the Little Red Love Machine getting tboned, a giveaway win was just what the doctor ordered! Take a look at my new hair care goodies:

giveaway2

^^^ Woohoo!

My Prizes:

  • Salon Tech heat protecting spray (which is awesome because I flat iron my hair every day)
  • Salon Tech shampoo (which will be going to my mom because I don’t wash my hair)
  • Eurora face and body moisturizer
  • A new copper core brush

Okay – and just to clarify, yes: I don’t wash my hair. Well, I wash it once a month when I’m redying it but that’s all. Although, I wouldn’t even consider that “washing” because I only condition my hair after dying it. My fiery red locks would be nonexistent if I washed my hair frequently. The last time I remember thoroughly washing my hair was…I actually don’t remember! But, my hair is all the better for it and that’s all I have to say about that!

ANYWAYS, I want to send a HUGE thank you to Julie from Beauty & A Book for sending your girl some giveaway loving. It infinitely brightened a super dumb week so merci beaucoup!

I would love to be able to send Julie some followers on her social media platforms because, unfortunately, I only have a Facebook! So please give her a follow on Twitter, Instagram, or Snapchat with her handle: jeweleemc

THANKS!! 😉

So there you have it, this week’s Monday Update: Special Delivery Edition! How was everyone’s Easter weekend? Would you consider yourself as having good or bad luck? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

The Countdown To Summer – Look Fab on Your Next Vacation!

The Countdown To Summer – Look Fab on Your Next Vacation!

A vacation is a chance to get away from it all – a week or two of fun, sunshine, and great food. When it comes to your annual trip, it’s nice to know that you look your best and are feeling as confident as possible. Not only will you look great in your pictures but you won’t be held back by insecurity. Here are a few things that you can do on the run up to your vacation to ensure that you look the best ever this summer:

Figure: Getting your body into shape is a great way to give you confidence. Eating right and exercising will not only sculpt your figure and allow your clothes to fit better, but you’ll feel fitter and healthier too. If your vacation is going to involve a lot of walking, then this is especially good, because you don’t want to be struggling and lagging behind when your fitness isn’t up to scratch. Focus on a clean, balanced diet. Plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, whole grains, healthy fats, and protein from lean meat and/or non- meat sources should all give your body everything it needs.

For exercise you could hit the gym or find an activity that you enjoy that requires a lot of movement. Whether it’s running, swimming, a sport, or just working out at home – anything that gets your body moving will tone muscles, burn calories, work your cardiovascular system, and shape your physique so anything goes!

If you find you have stubborn areas of fat that don’t respond to diet or exercise, liposuction could be an option. This isn’t a weight loss technique, though, it’s generally performed on people who are already a healthy weight who want to shape their body rather than decrease in mass. There is nothing wrong with considering plastic surgery to improve yourself but you just need to be so careful about who is performing the surgery. Seek recommendations from friends and family and look into several different options after searching “Best Liposuction Surgeon Houston” (or your local area). It can be very helpful to schedule consultations with a few different surgeons so you find the best fit for yourself and your needs.

Teeth: Want a gorgeous set of pearly white teeth to set off your holiday tan? Teeth whitening trays from the dentist take around six weeks or you can have laser teeth whitening in around an hour. Both of these treatments can lift the color of the teeth many shades and have a dramatic effect on the way you look and smile!

Hair: As the saying goes, ‘your hair is the ballgown you never take off’. Shiny, happy hair is the best accessory that you can own. In the weeks and months leading up to your vacation, you could give it some extra TLC. Use deep conditioning masks and oils to replenish and repair dry or damaged hair. Visit a hairdresser to have the split ends removed and have a fresh new color applied. It’s a fantastic way to give you confidence. If there are going to be nights during your trip where you want to dress up and look your best, clip in extensions are also a good option. It might be a little warm to wear them during the day, but they can add instant glamour for an evening outing. They add both length and thickness and look great either straight, curled, or in an updo.

Hair Removal: No one wants to deal with stubble or constant shaving while they’re away. Since holiday clothes and swimwear tends to show a lot of flesh, chances are you want to be as smooth as possible – for as long as possible! Going to the salon for a waxing treatment before you jet off will leave you hair-free for a number of weeks. For a longer lasting alternative, electrolysis and laser hair removal are effective.

Shellac Nails: Unlike regular nail polish, Shellac lasts for around two weeks. Meaning you get a chip-free manicure without the hassle of having to repaint your nails while you’re away. Most salons offer this and it’s cheaper than gel or acrylic nails.

Ready, get set, get pampered, and enjoy your vaca!

Spring Clean Your Life!

Standard
Spring Clean Your Life!

Spring has well and truly sprung, and there is now no time like the present to get the spring cleaning done. Don’t worry – you don’t have to reach for the mop and bucket just yet. It’s more in the sense of clearing out your wardrobe, makeup, and even your lifestyle to make way for bigger and better things.

Clothes: Quite a few of us are holding on to clothing items that we no longer need – either due to nostalgia, wanting to fit into them at some point in the future, or pure laziness for not clearing them out. It’s a vicious cycle that we often find ourselves in, but you will benefit so much more for having more of a bullet-style wardrobe than having clothes hanging around for the sake of it. They would be much better suited on another person or going to a better cause. Have a look through and sort out your wardrobe. If you have been holding onto something longer than a year without wearing it (taking into consideration season changes, which can affect how often you wear a certain item), you don’t need it cluttering your storage space.

Offer unwanted clothing around to your friends, take them to a charity shop, list them on a site like eBay, or give to a school or community project. There are a whole host of places that will take your clothes from you with no questions asked and no extra strain upon yourself. This shouldn’t leave you short of things to wear, but it’s a good excuse to get shopping for more updated items to line your wardrobe with. There are online clothing boutiques  available for you to get your staples from, and it’s never been easier to order from the internet. It gives you more choice than going into a store and saves on fuel, too.

Hair: This is more about going over the products that you have related to your hair and thinking about whether you need to replace, replenish, or reuse what you’ve already got. Hairbrushes need a thorough clean out of all of the build up of loose hairs that accumulate within them, but this should be done more than yearly for hygiene’s sake. It also provides a great time to rid yourself of any bottles of shampoo, conditioner, hairspray, and all other products which you’ve gotten to the bottom of but still are clinging on to with the hope that you can squeeze one more use out of them. It’s time to throw them away!

On the back of bottles there is usually a time span for the amount of life that they are meant to have once opened (e.g. 12 months, 24 months for the most common examples), but if you’re at the end of the bottle and you’ve been hoarding it for a long time, it only makes sense to throw it away and buy a new one. If your brush is missing bristles, your comb has a few teeth missing, and shower scruffies are reaching their straggly last days, it’s time to replace these, too – for the benefit of your hair and body over anything else.

Makeup: Makeup should regularly be sifted through and sorted out, but a spring clean gives a great opportunity for you to remember to do so. This goes for the things that you use to apply the makeup with, too – brushes should be cleaned with designated shampoo or a mild baby shampoo if you don’t have the proper stuff – it does the same trick. Go through everything thoroughly, and if it’s looking a bit gooey, cakey, doesn’t glide on correctly, or isn’t holding the same pigmentation as it was when you first bought it, it’s time for it to move on to a better life … in the bin. This is more for your health and safety than anything else; there have been a lot of skin conditions which have been attributed to wearing makeup that has gone far past its best-by date.

Friends: You shouldn’t have to wait until the spring to rid yourself of any toxic friends or family members that you may have, but it sure does get you thinking about it. Those who are in your life only to give you a hard time or bring you down aren’t worth keeping – no matter how long they’ve been a part of it. You want to surround yourself with people who don’t necessarily have the same interests as you (as that would be boring and leave little to no time for debate and reasoning), but have the same moral principles as you and the same vision for their life. Seek out the friends who can keep secrets and not use them for gossip, those who are kind, hard-working, and motivated without stepping up and over people to get to their place on the career ladder. Think about what you look for in a friend and hold the people you surround yourself with to those standards.

Your Environment: There are certain things around you in your home which will need a fair bit of TLC and a spruce-up, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be all about keeping it clean. Simply decluttering your bedroom can have a massive effect on how you lead your life and your mood when you first get up in the morning. This can then impact how your day goes. Choosing new bed sheets, picking new ornaments and pictures to be hung, and even moving furniture around your bedroom can be a great take on the spring clean – and a better way to get you feeling focused, motivated, and ready to take on the months that lie ahead. Spacing it out so that your room has more of an open, airy feel is akin to the freshness that this season brings, rather than the cozy and muted winter that we have just come out of.

Isn’t this version of spring cleaning loads better than actual cleaning?!

Pampering Party (Wahhh!)

Standard
Pampering Party (Wahhh!)

Hi everyone and happy Monday! This past week has been not the best at Chez Red because I have literally been sick for seven days straight. I have had an absolutely miserable cold complete with cough, body aches, headaches, sore throat, the chills, and night sweats. On top of feeling like DEATH, it is now finals week at school which is super stressful which seems to just make me sicker!

I am feeling very bitter about this bug because it completely ruined the pampering that happened last week which I was so looking forward to. I was scheduled to dye my hair, get my nails filled, and get a haircut. These are all things that I freaking love to do and unfortunately, I felt miserable to the point that I couldn’t enjoy any of it during each pampering activity.

My hair dying sesh resulted in a bloody nose and massive chills. Thanks to frequent nose blowing and an accidental stab from my talon acrylics, I was left with a bloody nose worthy of sticking a tampon in. Then, the cold water shower which was a necessity to washing out the dye and maintaining a lustrous shade of red left me in shivers in my skivvies for days. In hindsight, dying my hair and doing a cold water hair wash while sick was just plain asinine but damnit, my hair needed it real bad!!!

Later on in the week, I needed to get my nails filled so that they could be perfect for my graduation ceremony next week. Probably not the best idea either. The strong nail polish smells at the salon went straight to my head and not even my beloved nail tech, Vinny, could help me feel better. The worst, though, was when my nails were put in front of a fan to start the drying process. I instantly began to sweat and get clammy and I like to think of myself as a not sweaty person. I left the salon a big blubbering ball of phlegm and damp clothing but my nails looked fabulous, darling.

And finally, this weekend it was time for a haircut. I was so looking forward to getting my hair styled for my big day and wanted nothing more than to sit comfortably in the chair and let my stylist work her magic. Naturally, this didn’t happen. My week long nightmare left me feeling so achy and irritable that everything made me want to scream, or cry, or BOTH. So best believe when those little bitty microscopic hairs got snipped from my head and wound up down my shirt I was about to have an emotional breakdown. I’m telling you guys, it’s hard out there for a pimp.

Now that I am feeling about eighty percent better, I can finally fully admire the work that was done on me. My hair looks gorgeous and my nails are fierce. But at the time, nothing made me feel happy or attractive which is surprising considering I tried to surround myself with all things pretty! A Pampering Party did happen but it was not fun or relaxing in the slightest. I can only hope that the next time I need to throw some paint on the old barn that I am feeling in tip top physical condition!

Who is suffering from a winter cold or flu right now? What are your go to remedies for easing the yucks and aches? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Hair Glitter Trend

Hair Glitter Trend

Heyyy everyone and happy Hump Day! So a couple of months ago I saw a picture on Facebook of a girl who had the most GORGEOUS hair I had ever seen. It was a deep, rich midnight blue and in her hair was the lightest, most glorious dusting of silver glitter. After seeing that picture and lusting over the beautiful blue color that I will never have because I’ll be Lil Red 4 lyfe, I made a mental note to buy hair glitter if I ever come across it.

The day for my hair glitter purchase took place this past weekend at Target. With Halloween on the horizon, Target has pulled out all the stops with costumes, home decor, and costume makeup. And lucky for me, hair glitter was included in the Target Halloween extravaganza! Take a look:

glitter.jpeg

This spray is manufactured by Rosie’s Costume Co. and it is literally the best product EVER. So much so, that my very capable and brilliant hair stylist was extremely impressed. The beauty of this spray is that it’s not a spray but I don’t know what word to describe it with. When I think of hair spray, the first word that comes to mind instantly is “sticky” and this hair glitter is far from it. After my hair stylist sprayed a ton in my hair, it still felt touchable and sleek and looked mighty cute to boot!

Target offers this glitter spray in blue, green, silver, and gold and there are also cans of color without glitter like pink, red, green, and yellow. I was debating off and on whether to get just the silver or gold spray but it was too tough of a decision so I just bought both. At two dollars a can, it wasn’t particularly breaking my bank but I was pleased to see that it rung up as buy one get one half off so I got both cans for three bucks. Not bad!

I love how the gold spray compliments my bright red hair and I am looking forward to testing out the silver for a more glam look. My only regret is not buying more cans of the spray so next time I am at Target I will have to stock up for a year round of glitter hair because it’s not just for Halloween anymore! I wish that I had pictures of just how gorgeous this glitter is but unfortunately, my camera couldn’t capture the look very well on film. But, rest assured, that it really is fabulous and I can’t recommend this product enough!

How do you feel about the Hair Glitter Trend? What do you plan on dressing up as for Halloween? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Vidal Sassoon Runway Red Review

Vidal Sassoon Runway Red Review

Hi everyone and happy weekend! When it comes to my personal appearance, there is nothing, NOTHING more important to me than my red hair. I’ve had my hair red for quite some time now thanks to my wonderful stylist at the salon but only recently have I started to dye my hair at home. I discovered Vidal Sassoon’s Runway Red box color from their London Luxe collection over a year ago and have been a faithful user ever since. Frankly, I’m shocked that I haven’t reviewed this product before now but there’s no better time than the present so let’s do this:

red50.jpg

Once upon a time when I was paying close to eighty dollars monthly to get my hair colored, I thought that there would never be a box color that was as good as what I was getting at the salon. Honestly, there really wasn’t until Vidal Sassoon came out with their London Luxe collection. I can’t tell you the amount of times that I browsed through the box color section of Target or the grocery store only to find reds that weren’t red enough. Then, one day, I saw a commercial on TV for VS’s new collection. I took one good look at the girl with her hair dyed “Runway Red” and thought to myself, “this is it”.

I’m not really sure what brought on the need for me to stop getting my hair done professionally aside from the fact that I wanted to save money. I had been getting my hair done in the salon for years and I was nervous as hell to make the jump to at home coloring. But the next week, I went to Target with my mom and purchased my very first boxed hair dye, Vidal Sassoon’s Runway Red.

That evening, I would leave the very capable hands of my stylist and into the hands of my mother, who helped me on my first go at coloring my hair from home. We set up shop in the bathroom and my mom gave me the step by step guide on how to get situated. Step 1) Lay down LOTS of towels on the floor and around the sink. 2) Mix your color. 3) Put on your gloves. 4) Apply the color. And most importantly, always wear a top that you don’t have to lift up over your head!

My mom applied my color for me with the seasoned touch of a woman who’s been dying her hair from the comfort of her bathroom for years. Once my roots were completely covered, there was no turning back. That’s when the nerves really started to kick in! Loops of “What have I gotten myself into? Why did I let my mother near by head with hair dye? What happens if it looks ugly?” were running through my head at a hundred miles per minute.

By the time I eased myself out of a semi panic attack, our timer rang and it was time to apply the color to the rest of my hair. Once all of my hair was covered in red muck, my fate was left up to the gods. I waited for the color to set and then when it was time to rinse, I walked to the shower like I was on my way to the gallows. Once more, I thought to myself, “this is it” and placed my head under frigid cold water to wash away the dye.

As I stood in the shower freezing my nads off, I was shocked by how blood red the water was turning. It was so disgusting but kind of awesome! It took a while to get all of the dye washed away and I felt like I had developed hypothermia by the time I got out of the shower. I wrapped myself in a bunch of towels and held my breath as I rubbed away the fog from the mirror to inspect the color. I relaxed a little when I saw that my hair looked exactly the way it did once the dye is washed out at the salon. But I didn’t celebrate quite yet because the real moment of truth would come once my hair was completely dried.

I never blow dry my hair because it takes forever but I ran as fast as my legs could carry me to grab the dryer so I could start the process. I dried, and dried, and dried my hair some more and then took a tentative look in the mirror when I was finally done. Thankfully, the gods were in my favor because the color looked better than I could have ever expected. It was brighter than what I was getting done at the salon, it was bold, and it looked fabulous. See for yourself the power of Runway Red:

two

I couldn’t even tell you the amount of time and money that Vidal Sassoon’s box color has saved me. It is the BEST thing that has ever happened to my beauty routine and I’m so thankful to have found a color that’s even better than what I was getting at the salon. Therefore, I rate Vidal Sassoon’s Runway Red with: one million stars, for making me look beautiful without breaking my bank!

So there you have it, my Vidal Sassoon Runway Red Review! Do you dye your hair at the salon or at home? What box color do you swear by? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

My Red Hair Vibrancy Secret

Standard
My Red Hair Vibrancy Secret

Hi everyone and TGIF! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been asked how I keep my fake red hair so vibrant. I get the question at least twice or more per week and I answer with a reply that usually leaves the questioner shocked. My Red Hair Vibrancy Secret is as follows: I don’t wash it.

Well I wouldn’t say that I completely don’t wash it – I only clean my hair once a month for a total of twelve washes per year. My monthly cleanse isn’t even a “washing” per se. The only reason why my hair is getting wet is to wash the dye out from my monthly at home coloring. I say that it isn’t a washing because I consider “washing your hair” to mean that you use shampoo to do it, which I also don’t do. I just use a colored hair friendly conditioner, let it sit for a good three to five minutes, and then rinse.

“But doesn’t it get greasy?” Is the question that usually follows my spiel about not washing my hair and I’m always happy to answer with a big fat NO. Frankly, I don’t know how my hair hasn’t gotten disgustingly oily from my lack of hygiene for it but I’ve never experienced oil or grease even when I was washing my hair regularly. It kind of amazes me because I use product almost every day -a Fiji styling oil. It is kind of shocking that even with a handful of oil going into my hair daily, my locks still remain a normal and healthy texture.

I’ve heard many times that your hair isn’t meant to be washed and it will naturally clean itself which I suppose rings true for me. On top of not having an issue with oil or grease, I also have no trouble with odor, as well. I swear, I’m some type of hair anomaly because I’ve never had anyone tell me that my hair smells and I’m a smoker, for god’s sake! I’ve rested my head on my boyfriend’s shoulder thousands of times since we’ve been dating and he’s never once said anything about it smelling. I know he would, too, considering he likes to complain about my morning breath every day. -__-

So is my hair some type of miracle? Maybe. But more likely than not, my body has just become used to my no washing preferences and adapted to it. I’ve been steadily not washing my hair for close to a year now and have never encountered any type of issue with it. Thanks to my lack of hair hygiene, my beloved locks remain vibrant, bright, and red hot until I need to give my roots a touch up. Hey, whatever works!

My Red Hair Vibrancy Secret is out! A little disgusting? Somewhat. Effective? Hell yeah! What is your secret to maintaining freshly dyed hair? Who else doesn’t wash their hair frequently? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Attention All Beauty Bloggers: HELP!!!!

Attention All Beauty Bloggers: HELP!!!!

Hello to all of the fabulous beauty bloggers here on WordPress! I need your help desperately so I’m sending out a Lil Red SOS. As you may know, I am the proud owner of extremely fake red hair. It’s safe to say that I have a mild obsession with my locks and I’m totally okay with it. Because I’m dedicated to keeping my herrr luscious at all times, the SOS has been sent because my hair is dry as a desert right now thanks to the winter cold. Let’s discuss, but first enjoy this ironic choice in music:

What I really need in my life is a good leave in conditioning product as well as a heat protecting spray or serum. I only wash my hair twice a month so a wash out conditioner just isn’t for me. Lucky for me, I’ve been blessed with hair that never gets oily or greasy so my semi annual washes help me in my quest to prevent color fading. I never really “wash” my hair either, I just put conditioner in, let it sit, and then wash it out. What I really would like is a great leave in product or anything really to help get some moisture back into my hair. I’m open to any and all suggestions because hair isn’t my forte at all.

Another product that I’m interested in is a heat protecting product. I flat iron my hair every day and frankly, it’s never been an issue until this past month when the temperatures have dropped. For all of the straightening that I do every day, I’ve never had dry split ends result from it so I definitely want to avoid that from now on. I also think that it would be a good thing to start using anyways with or without the winter cold effecting my hair.

You guys are probably reading this post and thinking “how does this girl even have hair left?” because to me, it sounds like it really should be damaged. But for over a year now, Ive been using the no wash technique and only during my last hair cut was the first time my stylist has ever mentioned split ends on my hair. I would love to get my locks back into the good graces of having a soft and sleek texture as well as nice and sharp ends as opposed to the jagged straggles I’ve had as of late. Any and all suggestions for a conditioning and heat protecting product are welcomed and encouraged!

To all of my beauty bloggers: I NEED YOU NOW!! If you have any pro tips on how to get my hair back to its normal ways, I would forever appreciate it! Do you have any suggestions or recommendations? What are some of your off kilter hair care techniques that you swear by? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Ballin On A Budget

Standard
Ballin On A Budget

Heyyy everyone and happy Tuesday! As a college kid, I’m always looking for ways to save a buck in everything from beauty and clothes to eating out and buying textbooks. In the past few weeks I’ve demonstrated some frugal efforts at its finest in my beauty routines and now I’m here to share them with you! Let’s discuss:

1) Dye your hair at home!!!! – Back in the day, I would get my hair dyed and cut monthly. I was obsessed with keeping my hair as fabulously red as possible (I still am) and would eagerly shell out about seventy bucks per month at the salon to satisfy my needs. Once I started school, I knew that my hair dying habit had to die. I began to search Target and drug stores for the box color that would match the color I would get done at the salon the closest. Lucky for me, I found a perfect if not better match in Vidal Sassoon’s London Luxe collection. Their Runway Red box color is literally the best thing that’s ever happened to me because now I pay a whopping eight dollars per month for salon quality color!

runway1.jpg

I went from spending over eight hundred dollars yearly to about ninety dollars thanks to using box color on my luscious locks. Every month I now look forward to my pampering time when I throw on a robe, apply my hair color, and watch the water turn red as I wash it out. There’s nothing better! And the sweet smell of savings and freshly dyed and washed hair ain’t too bad either!

Have makeup free days: In the past month, I’ve spent at least twelve days makeup free. These are the days when I’m working on school work from home, when I’m having girl time with my best friend, or hangouts with my boyfriend (because if he can handle my bad breath in the morning he can handle seeing me makeup free, damnit!). I used to do my makeup every day no matter what but then I realized that it’s kind of silly to do that when no one but your family is going to see you in it. Now I only apply my makeup on days that I know for a cold hard fact I’ll be going out and about running errands, to school, or date nights with my beau.

By not using my makeup every single day, I’ve been stretching out how long the product lasts. My black eyeliner, for example, usually needs replacing after one month but as November comes to a close, I still have a little less than half of it left. This has dwindled down my spending at Target significantly because I no longer have to go to the store to do my monthly stock ups. Yes, I’ll be buying the products eventually but if I decrease the amount of eyeliner I buy per year by three, that’s saving close to twenty dollars! And that doesn’t even include mascara, eye shadows, blushes, and whatever other products you might use! My makeup free days have been stretching my dollar for this month which means more moolah to spend on holiday shopping!

ryan

^^^ Thanks, Ryan. ❤

So there you have it, just a few of the ways that Lil Red is Ballin On A Budget! What are some of your money saving secrets? What box color do you swear by? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Top right: Dove dry shampoo. Total life saver. I avoid washing my hair to keep my bright red hair fresh and vibrant, so this keeps my hair nice and clean in between washes. It’s only about four dollars and you can’t beat that! I also love the Paul Mitchell smoothing serum. It smells fantastic, like kiwi strawberry AND it gives your hair a radiant healthy shine to boot! It defeats any type of frizz or flyaway too for pin straight hair. It runs at about eighteen dollars and can be found at any hair salon.
Middle left: Revlon matte balm. Lovely. So lovely. It’s a great compromise when you don’t feel like wearing lipstick, and it goes on PERFECTLY matte so that means no blow drying or blotting! I wear color 240 Striking Spectaculaire and it runs around seven dollars. Where would I be without my Eos balm? In a world of chapped lips, that’s where! These balms leave my lips nice and plump and perfectly moisturized. These balms run around three dollars and both products can be found at any drug store.
Middle: My love. My life. My hair dye. Vidal Sassoon Runway Red is TO DIE FOR. It gives me the EXACT SAME color I was paying a lot of money to get at a salon. And for eight dollars a box, you’d be crazy not to do it at home. Rich red color. Vibrant and bright. What more can you ask for?
Middle right: My forever go to eyeliner. The Body Shops’ metallic eye defined in color number 13 Burnished Amber will change your life. The color brings out gorgeous hues in hazel eyes and will brighten any look. Fabulous for day or night wear. These liners run at eleven dollars each, and come in a bunch of other pretty colors too!
Bottom left: My skin care regime. Garnier has wonderful scrubs and cleansers for any type of skin. The smoothing cream cleanser is nice and gentle and will leave your skin feeling so hydrated. The balancing exfoliater is great too to make your skin feel bright and rejuvenated. It has hints of grapefruit in it for a nice zesty burst of fragrance and cleansing power. Both of these run around six dollars each and can be found at any drug store.
Bottom middle: My other skin care regime, which I apply after I wash and scrub my face. These products are all from The Body Shop. The Vitamin C Skin Boost ($27) is one of my favorites. It hydrates and brightens, plus leaves a smooth matte finish. The Nutriganics smoothing eye cream ($22) eliminates fine lines and reduces dark circles immensely. A great products to use to keep your eyes looking youthful! Vitamin E moisturizer ($14) SO NICE. Light and non greasy. A perfect every day cream.
Bottom right: Victoria’s Secret enchanted apple body spray ($14). My absolute FAVORITE fragrance. I love anything apple scented and this is so crisp and refreshing. It’s shockingly long lasting too, an all over spritz will keep you smelling sweet all day! A weird beauty secret but I adore the TN Dickinsons witch hazel which runs at about five dollars per bottle. It’s great for cleaning facial piercings. (I have four nose piercings – two on each nostril). This products eliminates blackheads and grime around my piercings.

Pic Stitch 2:
Top left: John Frieda radiant red shampoo and conditioner (about five dollars each) An absolute necessity for any red head. Not only does it protect your color but it leaves your hair SUPER moisturized. I don’t shampoo my hair very often though, I find that only conditioning my hair keeps my color lasting longer. And of course, I only wash my hair with FREEZING cold water!
Top middle: Covergirl eyeliner (about six dollars, I wear color number 410 Blackfire). This liner goes on so silky and smooth. The black is so rich and dramatic. One of my makeup necessities. I also love the Covergirl brow pencils (about four dollars, I wear color number 510 Soft Brown). I’ve recently grown very fond of the bold eye brow, and these pencils help give you the perfect shape and color. I wear a shade slightly darker than my natural brow color to give it a dramatic look.
Top right: LIPSTICK LOVE LOVE LOVE! I would be NOWHERE and my look would be NOTHING without the Covergirl lipstick and liner, both number 305 Hot Passion (about seven dollars each). What I love SO much about this brand is that they have the matching lipstick and liner for the perfect pout. I always blow dry my lipstick for a rich matte finish. Do yourselves a favor and purchase this lipstick/liner duo. You won’t regret it!
Bottom left: The Body Shop warming mineral mask (about fourteen dollars). This mask is delightful. It’s infused with ginger so it smells great too. Once applied the mask warms up and completely blasts out your pores, leaving your skin looking good as new. I like to use this mask about once a week to give my skin a nice refresher.
Bottom right: My blush! I use all three of these every day for my own unique, customized color. The Maybeline dream bouncy blush is so fun! The cream blush goes on so smooth and the color is so sweet. I wear color number 05 Fresh Pink. This blush runs at about six dollars and can be found at any drug store. I also adore my blush from The Body Shop ($12 each). The pigments in these blushes are so rich and they’re not too powdery either. I wear both 01 Macaroon and 04 Marshmallow. Once I mix all three of these blushes together I get a lovely bright pink shade with a tiny hint of orange. So pretty!
