Hiii! One thing that I am particularly proud of, is that I went from getting my nails done every three weeks like clockwork to every month or, sometimes, a little over a month. Cutting back over one week between fills saves me money and makes getting pampered all the more sweet. With Halloween right around the corner, I had to get a fun, slightly glittery orange as the accent nail on this most recent fill. Check it out:
Spooky chic is the name of the game for all of October… and year round. But, especially October! So incorporating some jackolantern orange amidst the black nails and red crosses was an absolute must. This fill makes me feel so witchy and cool and my nails will be perfect for diving into a cauldron full of candy for the Halloween trick or treaters!
And, did I mention that at the new salon that I go to, LT Nails, I am saving about twenty-five dollars per fill?! Although I might not be getting the most extreme pampering experience there, that’s a gas tank and Starbucks coffee’s worth of extra cash in my pocket. Not bad at all!
How do you save money when it comes to your pampering routines? Do you do themed nails for particular holidays? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
Hiii everyone! Yep, you read it right. I got my nails cut down on this past fill! *Gasp* ! My claws were getting long, even for me, so I decided to get them cut nice and short so that I could grow them out again. And, shockingly, I quite like them! They’re not as long as I would like but, for the time being, they are cute as hell. I call them my emo Barbie nails. Take a look and let’s discuss:
The first change that I made besides for the obvious, is that I went to a different salon for this service. My normal stomping grounds, Empress Nails, was getting too damn expensive for me so I went with LT Nails, instead, and will continue going there. It wasn’t the best fill I’ve ever had, but it was thirty dollars cheaper than my last one, so you do the math. I’ll take a not as good experience and a cheaper price over high class pampering and breaking my bank any day.
Although I didn’t necessarily enjoy my time at LT, I think that the tech that I went to was just having an off day. I have been to this salon before and was really satisfied every time except for this one, so I’m not going to hold is against them. And, I do like the way my nails turned out. It took some getting used to, because they are way shorter than normal. But, once they grow out a little, they will be perfect. For now, though, I am loving these dainty, edgy claws! :*)
Have you ever changed salons after going somewhere consistently? What was your reasoning? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
Hello one and all and happy Hump Day! Last week, I was able to enjoy some pampering at Empress Nails for a much needed fill. I headed to the salon right after work and it was so nice to conclude the day with getting my claws taken care of. They are looking very saucy this time around with a glitter grape purple accent nail and a little glitter on my ring finger for good measure. Take a look:
For my accent nail, I originally just had the glitter color picked out. But, my nail tech, Steve, informed me that the shade would be too sheer, even though it had a purple hue to it. So, he picked out the gorgeous grape color seen above. At first, I was iffy about it. But, once the glitter was on, I was so in love. So much so, that I wouldn’t mind getting all of my nails that color! To finish the fill, we added some galaxy style glitter to my ring finger for funsies, which made these nails my favorite that I’ve gotten in a long time. 🙂

Hey everyone and happy weekend! Lil Red is the ultimate girly girl and nothing pleases me more than caring for my tresses, skin, and having gorgeous acrylics on my nails. But, gorgeous acrylics need gorgeous polishes to top them, which is where Londontown comes in to play. Londontown features a wide array of colors, treatments, and goodies to keep your nails looking lovely one fab shade at a time. Including some of the following:
And, if the colors Chim Cher-ee, Briolette, and Opal look familiar, that’s because they’re on my acrylics as we speak! Experimenting with different nail polishes is always fun, especially if you can’t find the shade you’re looking for in store or at your salon. That’s why it’s such a treat to enjoy some new colors exclusively at Londontown. And, to make the feeling of luxury even sweeter, the website frequently offers wonderful promotions to save you money. And that’s something Lil Red can always get behind! 😀

Hiii everyone and TGIF! After having my acrylics on since October of 2017, it was finally time to get a new full set. My talons were overgrown, lifting, and getting super uncomfortable. But, now, they are obscenely short for my liking, which is uncomfortable in a different way! I’m still getting used to typing with tiny talons, so hopefully they’ll start growing out to reach their full lengthy potential soon! Check it out:
Although it cost me a pretty penny to get my new nails, it was a necessary evil, because my old ones were breaking constantly and it was stupid annoying. For short nails – well, short by my standards, my nails look good. But, I definitely won’t be completely happy with them until they grow some extra length! Despite my complaints, it was sure nice to spend a morning at the salon after five weeks in between nail maintenance. I spent more than what I would have liked on this set, but for nails that won’t break and a morning to myself, it was so worth it!
What length do you prefer to keep your nails at? What color of nail polish do you have on right now? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
Hello and happy Hump Day! I finally had time last week to get a much needed fill for my claws, and I’m feeling pretty blah about them. I went with the usual black and chose a beigey nude color for the accent nail. I was feeling really good about the color palette, because I wanted matte nails and I thought that the black and beige would look amazing like that. But, it wasn’t until after my nails were painted that my nail tech discovered that they were all out of matte top coat. -___- I’m not thrilled with my latest fill, but we can’t always win in life! Lol, here are my claws this time around:
Another major pisser about this fill is that TWO of my nails broke on the exact same day, which literally never happens. The nail related irritation that day was so real, I could have screamed. Despite the major claw flaws, my talons are shaped up and sharpened, which pleases me more than an exciting color palette. I still would really like to go the matte route, though, so hopefully next time they will have a top coat for me!
What do you do about broken nails? What color of polish do you have on right now? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
Hi! Last week was such a treat for me, because I got to be pampered two days in a row. I finally was able to squeeze time in for a much needed haircut AND, the following day, I got a much needed fill for my talons. Needless to say, I’m really feeling myself. I even decided to throw some glitter like confetti on my claws for something a little different. Maybe it’s the new haircut confidence?! Check it out:
Although I will always love my plain black nails and accent nail, I have to admit, this starry night style glitter is a lot of fun. I would even go as far to say that I’m obsessed! This tiny change was so exciting for me that now I’m considering going the matte route on my next fill for something edgy and cool.
It’s amazing what a confidence boost that a good haircut can give you, and I really think that it had something to do with my decision to switch things up a bit. And, even though change is scary for me, I’m not complaining in the slightest! 😀
