New Red & Orange Nails

Hi! I had a lovely morning of pampering earlier in the week. It was so nice! I got my hair cut first and then I headed off to Elysian Nails to get a much needed fill. I had the cutest nail tech named Kim fix up the talons and she was an absolute doll. AND she did an amazing job so I can’t wait to go back to her next month. Check out these fiery beauties she fixed up perfect for summer time:

These nails are an absolute fiesta and I am so obsessed! After doing a sweet pink and gold for spring, I needed something with a pop and the only answer was a bright red to go with the promises of eighty degree weather in Ohio. These nails make me feel so saucy and they look really fun and sunny. Now all I need is a beach and a Margarita to go with these babies and I’m all set!

What color of polish do you have on? What are your favorite colors to sport in the summer? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

New Light Pink & Gold Glitter Nails

New Light Pink & Gold Glitter Nails

Hellooo everyone! This past week, I treated myself to a new set of acrylics. The ones that I had been wearing for over a half a year or so were getting pretty flimsy and it feels so good to have some nice, sturdy new nails again. And, did I mention that they’re pretty?! I went with a springy color palette and am in love with the soft pink and shock of glitter that I chose. Check it out:

I recently painted one of my client’s nails with a pale pink similar to the color that I went with and I was obsessed. So, I decided that that shade definitely had to be used once I was able to get my nails done. Light pink is so lovely for spring and it reminds me of one of my favorite flowers – pink hyacinths! The gold accent nail compliments it nicely, too, and is reminiscent of golden foil wrapped chocolate eggs for Easter. 😀

And, as always, Elysian Nails did a wonderful job with my talons. I honestly can’t believe I ever went to a different salon, because this one is the real deal. Amazing techs, gorgeous set up, and fair prices – it can’t be beat and I am so happy to have finally found a salon that I love!

New Cherry & Cream Nails

Hello!! This past Thursday, I enjoyed a much needed fill at my wonderful salon, Elysian Nails. Seriously, I can’t rave enough about that place. It is so posh, the nail techs are brilliant, and the prices are amazing. I always leave there feeling like a million bucks while only spending a fraction of what I used to pay to get my nails did. This time around, I chose a cherry vanilla motif and ended up with these beauties. Take a look:

For the first time ever, I have red nails and I am so in love! It took long enough to go with nails the color of my namesake, but it was worth the wait because these are fabulous. My talons are nice and sharp and the deep cherry color along with the nude accent nail feels so lux and elegant. This color combination is edgy in a different way. I still feel like the queen of the underworld as I did with my black nails but now I feel like the queen of everything else, too!

Thanks, Elysian Nails! ❤

New Hot Pink & Gold Glitter Nails

Hiiii everyone! Last week, I got my talons filled and sharpened and went for a color that I never thought I would before… Hot pink! As I walked into the salon and went to pick out my polish, this gorgeous shade of bright and bold pink spoke to me and, trust and believe, that I listened. And, a glittery twenty-four karat gold accent nail to top it off didn’t look too bad, either! Take a look:

I feel crazy even saying this, because I am anything but a pink girl. However, I think these might be my favorite nails yet! The hot pink and gold combination is just pure fun. The super shiny pink and the sparkling glitter look so lux and I feel like these are the ultimate Barbie nails.

My new nails make me smile every time I look at them, because they make me feel so good! I tried something super out of my comfort zone and, like it normally does, it paid off completely. The colors are girly as can be, but the sharp shape is still rocker and cool. Kind of like me, I suppose. 100/10 would definitely get again!

New Matte Navy & Lavender Nails

New Matte Navy & Lavender Nails

Hiiii everyone! Thanks to a fabulous new salon and nail tech, I had the most wonderful pampering experience after my month of recovery from surgery. It felt so good to get a much needed fill and have some time to get beautiful after feeling awful for such a long time. And, I even experimented with some new colors and a matte top coat. My new nail tech, Sam, did a bang up job and I am nothing short of obsessed. Check it out:

The new salon that I have been going to is called Elysian Nails, and it is the most gorgeous and luxe salon I’ve ever been to. And, to make things even better, their prices are insanely low, despite such a posh atmosphere. I follow Elysian on Facebook, and I saw a picture of someone’s nails done in indigo matte and it looked so pretty that I just had to give a shade of blue and a matte coat a try.

I love navy blue and lavender together, so I thought that it would be a perfect color combo to go with as I venture away from all black everything on my nails. But, the matte finish looks so good that I told Sam that a black matte mani next fill just has to happen – no ifs, ands, or buts. I can’t wait!

New (Short!) Glitter & Black Nails

New (Short!) Glitter & Black Nails

Hiiii everyone! After a disastrous trip to LT Nails last month, I changed salons to Elysian Nails and had a most pampering few hours getting my nails worked on. And *gasp* they’re short! It was due time to give them a cut down and begin the growing out process again so now I have cutesy tiny daggers instead of my normal long claws. Annnnd, my new nail tech, Sam, convinced me to change my color palette up so check out my New (Short!) Glitter & Black Nails:

Ahhh! So crazy, right?! Originally, I was just going to do a glitter nail for the accent color and my normal all black everything for the rest. But, Sam (Who is such a doll!) encouraged me to try something new. We both agreed that the glittery white is perfect for an Ohio winter, especially since it was snowing fairly hard out while we were tucked away in the salon. And, for good measure, Sam let me have a black accent nail on a different finger, no less! Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes!

Elysian Nails definitely proved to be worth the hype, because it got amazing reviews on Facebook and every opinion giving platform that I could find. The salon was decorated beautifully, it was spacious, and all of the nail techs were as nice as can be. The prices were good, the service was fabulous, and I can’t wait to go back next month. 🙂

New Black & Teal Glitter Nails

New Black & Teal Glitter Nails

Hello! Ohhhh my god, guys. The things Lil Red will do to save money – because the people at the salon I go to now are SO. F’ING. RUDE! Ugh, why must this salon charge so much less than the one that I used to go to and why, why, WHY must the people that work there be sadists! Yes, this is strictly a complaining post because you and I both know that despite the piss poor attitudes of the employees, I’ll keep going there since the price is right. Sigh, take a look at my new nails at the hands of a meanie and let’s discuss:

teall

Now, believe me, I get that my nails are a lot of work because I love my length. And, this is why I always schedule an appointment way in advance, tip well, and am happy to pay any upcharge for services on long nails. On top of all of that, I am such a pleasant customer to deal with. I hate to toot my own horn, but it’s the doggone truth. I’m polite, friendly, and really easy going when it comes to my nails.

So, tell me why the person filling my acrylics basically scolded me for how long it was taking him to do them and the length of my nails? He also manhandled me when taking me to the drying table so that my nails wouldn’t smudge and tossed my bag on the vacant seat next to mine. Excuse me? Because I know that he didn’t just do that even though I tipped close to forty percent.

I get it. My nails take a while to complete and I guess I might be a bit frustrated too if their was a shop full of people waiting. But, I was the ONLY person in the salon, so you must have me fucked up. I left after my fill feeling absolutely awful, when I should exit a salon feeling my best after getting my nails done. Oooooo WEEEE mama was pissed.

And, the crazy thing is, is that I would have given glowing reviews in this post had I been treated like an actual human being, because I love how my nails turned out. But, unfortunately, that was not the case. Better luck next time, I guess?

What would you do in a situation like the above scenario? How do you politely tell someone off? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
