4 Easy Ways To Get More Confident

Self-confidence is a powerful asset that can immensely impact your life. It helps you reach your objectives and feel secure in everything you do. If you want to boost your self-confidence, there are countless ways to go about it. These suggestions will help boost your spirits and enable you to realize your aspirations:

See your dentist to fix oral issues:

Having your dentist address oral issues can have a lasting effect on your well-being. It saves time, money, and hassle in the long run and may protect you against severe conditions like diabetes, osteoporosis, and heart disease. Beyond the apparent teeth cleaning and checkup, your dentist may offer recommendations to improve your smile or suggest a cosmetic treatment that could boost self-esteem and confidence. Visiting a dental center such as Wahroonga Dental can help you to correct common dental issues with cosmetic treatments, including having braces fitted, dental crowns, teeth whitened, and more.

Dress for confidence:

Dressing to impress can boost your confidence and enhance how you feel and interact with others. Dressing in bright colors and styles that flatter your figure can also boost self-confidence. A red skirt or top is especially great for those wanting to radiate power and confidence. If you have a favorite dress or suit that makes you feel amazing, wear it often. Doing so will help you remember why you chose it and how it made you think, which in turn can boost your confidence levels. To feel confident in your clothing, select pieces you enjoy wearing in colors and styles that also fit well. The better fitting your clothing is, the better you will feel.

Fake it till you make it:

Just because you don’t particularly feel confident doesn’t mean that others should be aware of that. The fake it till you make it mindset can help you to push through times of doubt and uncertainty when you need to be confident. It can be as simple as making eye contact with others to give off an air of confidence or standing up tall and maintaining your posture throughout a presentation. Eventually, you will find that the more you fake being confident, the less you will need to do so.

Emulate others who are confident:

One of the best ways to increase your self-assurance is by studying those who possess it. Pay attention to how confident individuals interact with one another, their work habits, and how they dress for success. This type of role modeling can give you invaluable insights into what it takes to succeed in any area of life.

Another excellent idea is to step outside your comfort zone and try something different. For instance, volunteer for a community service project or enroll in a training course that could benefit your career! It’s a great way to build confidence and you might even land your dream job. Plus, this exercise will make you think on your feet and feel like an experienced leader quickly.

Over 85% of Americans report having low self-confidence, and improving this even a little bit can greatly benefit your overall mental health. These tips can go a long way to getting you started on boosting your confidence!

Build Your Self Confidence With These Tips

Build Your Self Confidence With These Tips

It is absolutely essential for us to take the time to build our self confidence as it can profoundly shape how we experience our lives. Self confidence is a huge factor in how people perceive themselves, their environment, and how they interact with others. When people have low self confidence or lack of it, they tend to be easily affected by external factors like criticism or failure. On the other hand, when someone has high self-esteem and confidence, they can handle life’s issues without giving into fear or stress. This article will explain why improving your self confidence is of cardinal importance and some practical steps you can take towards building more confidence in yourself:

The Benefits & Power Of Self Confidence:

When you have healthy and positive self-esteem, it allows you to believe in yourself and confront any challenges or obstacles that come your way. You are more likely to take risks and make bold decisions when you feel confident about yourself. Plus, having high levels of confidence enables you to live a happier, more fulfilled life since the assurance that comes with it helps you appreciate who you are and embrace your unique qualities. It has been proven that people with greater self confidence tend to be healthier physically as they’re better able to handle stressful events without breaking down from anxiety or depression.

Building Your Self Confidence:

Now that you know the power of self confidence and why you should strive to have it, let’s talk about practical steps to build your own:

Focus on positive affirmations: Start by consistently telling yourself that you are capable and worthy of success. Positive affirmations like “I am strong and powerful” or “I am a valuable person” will help increase your self-esteem and provide an emotional boost when needed.

Identify areas for growth: Take the time to analyze where you currently stand in terms of self confidence. If certain aspects of yourself could use some improvement, such as communication skills or public speaking ability, make a plan for how you will work on them.

Set achievable goals: Setting realistic and achievable goals is an essential part of building any level of self confidence. When you can see that your hard work is paying off, it will motivate you to keep going and also build a sense of pride in yourself. Choose tasks that you know are within your reach and build from there.

Practice self care: Taking the time to do something nice for yourself can help increase your self-esteem. Whether it’s taking a few minutes out of your day for meditation, treating yourself to a massage, or even allowing yourself some time away from technology, these small acts help remind us that we are deserving of love and care.

When you find acts of self care that really work for you, embrace it! Self care is a wonderful way to reward yourself and provides something to look forward to. If you’re like me, your favorite form of self care comes from being pampered. Scheduling regular appointments for hair, nails, or skin care treatments at a quality med spa can become that perfect self-care ritual. Whether you’re looking for services at Grand Blanc Med Spa or exploring options in your own area, prioritize locations with excellent reviews for their staff and expertise to ensure you get the rejuvenating experience you deserve.

Build relationships: Lastly, it’s important to surround yourself with positive people who will help motivate and encourage you. Having strong relationships with family and friends is essential for self confidence as it gives us a support system that can remind us of our greatness when we are feeling down.

Facing Your Insecurities:

Sometimes we have insecurities that can be difficult to face. Eczema is one such issue, and it can cause feelings of low self-esteem or embarrassment in those who suffer from it. Luckily, there are treatments available to help you manage eczema and improve your overall skin health. Creams and ointments containing corticosteroids are often used as eczema treatments as they can reduce inflammation and help soothe the skin. In addition, moisturizing on a regular basis is also very important in preventing eczema flare ups, as well as avoiding irritants like certain fabrics or chemicals that could worsen symptoms.

Feeling insecure in your body occasionally is completely normal. However, if you are constantly focusing on the areas you think need improvement, it can really effect your mental health. If this is the case for you, there is nothing taboo or wrong about seeking surgical or medical intervention. It could be finding a well reviewed surgeon to schedule a Facelift consultation with or getting medical help for weight loss. Whatever it may be, you don’t have to face your insecurities alone.

If you are considering surgery then that is wonderful. It means you are being proactive in finding solutions to raise your confidence and that should be celebrated. The most important thing you can do in this situation is to find a surgeon you are completely comfortable with. You might have to shop around to find the best fit for you but doing so will ensure your full confidence in the surgeon and their ability to complete your procedure safely. To begin researching surgeons, simply enter a search for “Plastic Surgery in New Orleans” (or your local area) and be sure to seek advice from your doctor too. Your GP might have just the surgeon in mind for you!

Participate in activities that make you feel good:

This step is all about learning to do something for yourself and having fun! Choose activities that make you feel happy, such as reading a book, listening to your favorite music, or taking a yoga class. Doing things that bring joy into your life can have an incredibly positive impact on your self confidence.

Having self confidence can give you the power to keep pushing forward when faced with any hurdles or obstacles. With dedication and commitment, anyone can learn how to build their self-esteem and appreciate themselves for who they are. Remember that it’s okay to take time for yourself and practice some self care; after all, taking care of yourself should always come first!

Take The Compliment

Take The Compliment

Hello! One thing that I have always struggled with is receiving compliments and I’m sure that I am not the only one who has similar sentiments. When I was at my lowest, I genuinely couldn’t understand why anyone would want to compliment me and all it did was make me paranoid and even more miserable. It’s hard accepting compliments when you don’t feel worthy of getting them in the first place! It’s also so easy to deflect a compliment and just turn it around to the other person, instead. IE: “You look great”. “No, you look great”.

For several years, I was never able to simply say “thank you” for a compliment and it took a lot of mental health work on my part to get to that point. After coming to terms with my own problems and gaining some self esteem, I realized that I have improved tenfold in my compliment accepting abilities. It actually didn’t really click until I saw these two pictures taken at Playhouse Square this past weekend:

image_50456321(4)image_50755329(4)

^^^ When snapping some pics before seeing Beetlejuice, someone told me they liked my outfit mid-pose and the second picture is of me being ecstatic about it!

As I was scrolling through photos of my night on the town, these two pictures really stuck out to me. As I sat and mused, I wondered what the second picture would have looked like if I was back to my depression days. Chances are, I wouldn’t have had a huge smile – rather, a look of confusion as if someone was trying to play a joke. Recognizing that and being able to see it so plainly in front of me made me feel proud of my own personal growths.

lifewithlilred played a big role in helping me muster up some confidence about myself in general and my appearance. Through OOTDs, I was able to develop my sense of style and writing about my issues in early posts assisted in sorting out my emotions and learning from them. And, while saying “thank you” for a compliment online isn’t the same as in real life, it was a great first start. Having people comment specifically on my page was a turning point and I was able to see the compliments for what they really were – something nice.

As I began testing my new skills in public, it began getting easier and easier to say “thank you” to the point where I didn’t even have to think about it anymore. I also loved how much more genuine it felt to give a person an actual compliment back instead of just replying with an Uno Reverse card lol.  It wasn’t until seeing the pictures above that I put some thought into it and saw what a major improvement has been made. 🙂

If you can relate to this post, my best advice is to Take The Compliment when you receive one. It might be really hard at first but just saying “thank you” is a small step in making some big changes!

What is something that you struggle with? Is it hard for you to accept compliments? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Feel More Confident Without Changing Your Look

Feel More Confident Without Changing Your Look

With the start of the new year, chances are high that you have chosen to make resolutions about changing yourself or trying to be more confident. The thing is, there are plenty of ways that you can feel more confident in yourself and about who you are without having to change your look. Your weight doesn’t need to change, your hair doesn’t need to change, and you don’t need to change who you are as a person to be confident. Instead, you have to believe who you are as a person.

There are plenty of ways that you can be more confident without completely overhauling your look, and you can consider anything from a spritz of Michel Germain perfume to a course on public speaking to help you. As long as you can understand that your confidence isn’t based on your looks, you will go a lot further in life than you think. Here are some of the ways that you can be more confident without having to do an extreme makeover for it:

Stand tall:

If you sit in a coffee shop and look out the window you could point out everybody who has little confidence in themselves. They hunch and walk with their shoulders low and their heads down. If you want to feel confident, you need to stand up straight and tall, with your shoulders and head back. Think about commanding a room even when you’re just walking down the street. A powerful presence starts with good posture!

Change your environment:

What is it around you that is hindering your confidence? What’s making you feel less than you should? Did you know that people who spend all of their time in offices find that spending just a couple of minutes outside puts them in a better mood? You need to look at what it is that is pushing you down and go to the place that makes you feel most creative, happy, and relaxed. See, you don’t have to change who you are, you just need to change where you are.

Try something new:

It can be hard as an adult to try new skills or hobbies because of the fear of failure. We all want to be amazing at what we try right off the bat! However, persevering through something difficult and finally achieving success is going to do wonders for your confidence. You worked hard and you reached a goal, and that’s enough for a huge confidence boost.

Adopt a positive mental attitude:

A great way to be more confident without changing who you are is to be positive with everything that you do. Your thoughts will influence your behavior and your decision making, so reframing your thinking can drastically change everything. If you start each morning thinking that today is going to be a bad day, then it probably will be. Wake up every morning ready to take on the day and see what a difference it makes!

All of these ideas are natural confidence boosters – no pricey trip to the salon or store required!

It’s Not Just A Phase OOTD Bonus Pics

Hello everyone and welcome to some bonus pics from my It’s Not Just A Phase OOTD! There were so many pictures I liked from this shoot because I loved the outfit that I created. It is for sure one that I can picture myself wearing again or with variations and it might just be one of my favorite looks from this past year of OOTDs. I think I achieved my goal of creating an elder emo look that the young bloods can look up to lol! What do you guys think?

image_50443009(2)image_50443009(3)image_50459137(7)image_50428929(3)image_50450177(3)image_50444545(1)

I don’t know about all of you but my fashion sucked ASS in high school lol. It was basically as bad on the outside as I felt on the inside. However, that’s one of the cool things about growing up. You get to develop your own style and learn what works the best for you. This was a process of trial and error and how my style evolved from yikes to something I’m proud of stems from countless shopping trips to TJMaxx with my mom. Trying on fitting rooms full of clothes in every shape, style, and color really helped get me in tune with my body type and what compliments it. This also gave me the freedom to make fashion mistakes without showing it to the entire high school.

Shows like Euphoria had all of the high school aged characters serving LOOKS and that truly is not the case for lots of people, myself included. If you’re one of my younger readers and have similar sentiments to my days of yore, I promise that it will get better. It just takes a bit of time, reflection, and an adventurous spirit when you’re out shopping. This outfit was inspired by what I wish that I wore in high school and I think my younger self would have flipped her shit if she saw these pictures of grown up me.

“It’s just a phase” is something that young people hear a lot and it is such a massive eye roll. There are some things you will never outgrow and that is okay! Once an emo kid, always an emo kid and all you have to do is look at thirty-three year old Johnny and twenty-eight year old me to know that it was most certainly not just a phase. This look was all about tossing that phrase in the garbage and being proud of who you are and how you feel. All of it makes you you and I like you just the way you are! ❤

What was a phase that you never outgrew? How has your personal style developed? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Autumn Awesome OOTD Pt. 3

Autumn Awesome OOTD Pt. 3

Hello everyone and welcome to the last set of photos from my Autumn Awesome OOTD before we move on to the blooper reel! I had a ball styling this look and exploring a new to me metro park with Johnny. I definitely want to go back in proper hiking attire to enjoy the trails because this outfit had me sweating bullets in the fifteen minutes it took to take all of my pictures! My OOTD was, admittedly, not the best for hiking but it was the best for a fabulous fall look:

image_50441217(3)image_50419201(3)image_50462209(2)image_50430721(2)image_50408193image_50461185(2)image_50456833(2)

^^^ The mural was painted by Matt Miller @mtmilo .

I have many favorite things about blogging but high in the ranks is doing OOTD posts. The process is just so satisfying to me and I love seeing something that I had in my head come to life. Planning the outfit, finding the perfect location, taking pictures with my husband, and seeing the results is all such a blast. It also makes it difficult to select only a handful of pictures, which is why several of my recent OOTDs have been a series!

I very much enjoy taking pictures of others and, obviously, having my picture taken too. I consider it to be an excellent practice in self confidence and I can tell how much mine has improved in terms of my OOTD shoots over the years. I’d be a liar if I said that I didn’t use to feel silly having pictures taken of me. Now, I feel like a model when I’m being photographed and try to do photo shoots for the blog with Johnny as often as I can. 😀

Blogging can be hard work but nine times out of ten it feels like play. I appreciate everyone who tunes in to share in the fun with me ❤ . Keep it posted for bloopers from my Autumn Awesome OOTD after a brand new edition of Lil Red’s Book Club!

Do you prefer to be behind or in front of the camera? What helps you improve your self confidence? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

A Stroll In The Garden OOTD Pt. 2 Bonus Pics

A Stroll In The Garden OOTD Pt. 2 Bonus Pics

Hey! Today, we are going to check out some bonus pics from Part Two of my Stroll In The Garden OOTD. Johnny took these pictures and prior to being with him, I always got a kick out of the “husbands of Instagram” posts. I thought they were so funny and sweet and I admired the significant other for assisting in all of the pictures. They seemed like the partner to have and I feel like the luckiest girl to have me a blog husband of my own!

Not only is Johnny the best in every aspect of my life but he turned out to be a formidable iPhone photographer as well. His method of “just take a million pictures” works perfectly every time and I am so appreciative whenever he helps me out for my OOTD shoots. Take a look at his handiwork:

image_50446849(1)image_50739457image_50417921(3)image_50740993(1)image_50428161(7)image_50424577(1)

Taking pictures used to be something I was really self conscious about due to constant battles with low self esteem. To this day, I still don’t let just anyone take my pictures and have a handful of people that I like to work with. In fact, the first time Johnny took some OOTD shots, I was SO nervous! That feeling quickly dissipated, however, because he treats every photo shoot like an America’s Next Top Model moment… Even the bloopers!

Johnny’s comments of “you’re working it”, “you look great”, and “are we done yet?” make all of our photo sessions a joy. He truly makes sure that every picture he snaps is shot just the way I like it and has also gotten so good at not cutting my head or feet out! My blog is something that I take a lot of pride in and being able to collaborate with my husband for OOTDs is really special to me.

A HUGE shout out to my sweet blog husband for indulging me in my OOTD shoots. He is the behind the scenes hero of almost all of them and my love and self confidence soars with every picture taken. I LOVE YOU, BABE! ❤

Who is your favorite person to take pictures with? What or who makes you feel confident? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Country Concert OOTD Bonus Pics

Country Concert OOTD Bonus Pics

Hello everyone and welcome to some bonus pics from my Country Concert OOTD! Although we didn’t end up going to said country concert of Willie Nelson, I got tons of pictures that I love to show for it so I guess it all worked out lol. This OOTD was a blast to style and even more fun to wear! My inner Dolly Parton was able to burst free and I felt like a total country diva. Take a look at some bonus pics so good that they should be outlawed (See what I did there?!):

image_50444033(2)image_50416129(2)image_50416897(3)image_50744321image_50434817(2)image_50404609(4)image_50424065(2)

Wearing this outfit was very interesting to me because it is not even close to my usual personal style at all. I’m sure all of you can agree! However, it was a true testament to the confidence that a great outfit can give – regardless of of it’s something that you would normally wear or not. When I first put this OOTD on, I admit that I was slightly self conscious. Then, I began playing with the fringe and dancing around in the mirror and I was transformed!

What has always drawn me to fashion is that it gives you the opportunity to be whoever you want on any given day. My standard look is a combination of glam rock and punk but who says that I can’t be a country superstar or a posh theater goer? When you dress the part and have the confidence to pull it off is when you can start having real fun with styling without limiting yourself to your signature style.

I can honestly say that this is an outfit that I would wear again without the catch of attending a country show. Is it a bit much? Absolutely. But, so am I so what difference does it make? I felt AMAZING in this OOTD and that’s all that matters to me. So, if you have a look that you’re on the fence about but feel good in: Wear it anyway!! It will be an excellent practice in your own self confidence and you’ll end up feeling glad that you took the risk.

Tomorrow, tune in for a new watercolor painting project. Then, it will be on to bloopers from this look and a couple’s photo shoot! See you then! ❤

How would you describe your personal style? What makes you feel confident? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

4 Ways To Quickly Boost Your Confidence

Standard
4 Ways To Quickly Boost Your Confidence

Feeling confident is key to success in any area of life. When you feel good about yourself, it shows in your actions and the way you interact with others. If you’re looking for a quick confidence boost, try some of these methods:

Stand up straight and tall:

The first step to looking and feeling more confident is your posture. Stand up straight with your shoulders back and your head held high. This will make you look and feel more powerful, which in turn will boost your confidence. If you’re not used to good posture, it may take some practice to get into the habit of standing and sitting up straight. But once you do, you’ll notice a difference in the way you feel about yourself.

Smile!

Smiling is another great way to boost your confidence. It makes you look friendly and approachable, two qualities that will help you feel more confident in social situations. If you’re not used to smiling, it may take some extra thought at first. But once you do, you won’t be able to stop. There is always something to smile about!

If you feel like your smile could use some work, consider visiting a Dentist. A professional cleaning and whitening can do wonders for your self esteem. Dentists can also help with other confidence boosting treatments, such as straightening your teeth or fixing minor imperfections. If you’re considering any type of cosmetic dental work, be sure to consult with a reputable dentist who has experience performing the procedure you’re interested in.

Make eye contact with people:

Making eye contact is a great way to show confidence. It shows that you’re interested in what the other person has to say and that you believe in what you’re saying yourself. If you’re not used to making eye contact, it may feel awkward at first. But the more you practice, the easier it will become. In addition to making eye contact, be sure to speak slowly and clearly when you can. Speaking too quickly can make you seem nervous or unsure of yourself. But speaking slowly and clearly will help you come across as confident and in control.

Dress for success:

What you wear can also impact your confidence. If you dress in clothes that make you feel good about yourself, it will show in your demeanor. So be sure to choose clothes that fit well and are comfortable to wear. You should also avoid wearing clothes that make you feel self-conscious. There is no point in that and it will show as you fidget and pull at your clothes throughout the day. When you look good, you’ll feel good – and your confidence will reflect that.

With a little practice at these four suggestions, you’ll be feeling more confident in no time! Why not give it a try?

Tips For Boosting Your Creative Confidence

Tips For Boosting Your Creative Confidence

Do you often feel like you’re not good enough? Do you feel like your work is never good enough? If so, you’re not alone. Many people struggle with feelings of self doubt and insecurity when it comes to their creative work. However, there are things that you can do to boost your confidence and improve your creative output. In this blog post, we will discuss some tips for boosting your creative confidence:

Believe In Yourself:

This may seem obvious, but it’s important to remember that you are the only one who can control your self belief. If you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will. Remember that you can do great things and don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Think about how you’ve come this far and all of the things you’ve achieved.

Believing in yourself is the first and most important step to taking control of your creative confidence. You are the only one who can make yourself believe that you are good enough and that your work is worth putting out there. So, start by convincing yourself that you can do it!

Be prepared:

One of the best ways to boost your confidence is to be prepared. It will show in your work if you know what you’re doing and you’re confident in your abilities. Make sure that you take the time to research and plan before you start working on a project. This way, you’ll have a clear vision of what you want to achieve and you’ll be less likely to second guess yourself.

Take Risks:

To grow and improve, you need to be willing to take risks. You’ll never progress if you’re too afraid to try new things or step outside of your comfort zone. Sometimes, the best way to learn is by trial and error. The risks that work will create a significant confidence boost that you can carry into future projects. Experimentation will help you learn and expand your creative intuition. A good example of this is Michael Treco, who does various art exhibits following his intuition.

Maintain A High Level Of Output:

You can’t be confident in your work if you’re not producing any! One of the best ways to boost your creative confidence is to maintain a high output level. Make sure that you’re regularly creating new work and don’t be afraid to share it with the world. The more you create, the more confident you’ll become in your abilities.

Confidence in your own creative ability takes time to nurture and that’s okay. Use the tips above to help jump start the process so you can be your best creative self.
