New Hot Pink & Gold Glitter Nails

New Hot Pink & Gold Glitter Nails

Hiiii everyone! Last week, I got my talons filled and sharpened and went for a color that I never thought I would before… Hot pink! As I walked into the salon and went to pick out my polish, this gorgeous shade of bright and bold pink spoke to me and, trust and believe, that I listened. And, a glittery twenty-four karat gold accent nail to top it off didn’t look too bad, either! Take a look:

I feel crazy even saying this, because I am anything but a pink girl. However, I think these might be my favorite nails yet! The hot pink and gold combination is just pure fun. The super shiny pink and the sparkling glitter look so lux and I feel like these are the ultimate Barbie nails.

My new nails make me smile every time I look at them, because they make me feel so good! I tried something super out of my comfort zone and, like it normally does, it paid off completely. The colors are girly as can be, but the sharp shape is still rocker and cool. Kind of like me, I suppose. 100/10 would definitely get again!

What color of nail polish do you have on? Did you get your nails done for Valentine’s Day? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Happy Tails Thrift Shop

Happy Tails Thrift Shop

Hello! Recently, a really cool thrift shop opened up right down the road from me. It is called Happy Tails and all of the proceeds are given to the Akron Humane Society. My mom enjoys volunteering there on the weekends and I love taking my clients there to shop around and find some good deals. And, I found some good deals too! This past month, I got a four drawer filing cabinet (Which I’ve wanted for forever.) and a pair of retro sunglasses for just under eleven bucks. Check it out:

happytailshappytails1

I am so incredibly happy with my purchases and it’s even better that the money goes to helping our local animals in need. I asked for a filing cabinet for Christmas and, sadly, did not find one under the tree. And, while scoping post holiday sales, a two drawer cabinet was still around forty dollars. I got twice that for ten bucks!

I love the old school locker feel of my new cabinets and I had a blast organizing all of my paperwork in accordion folders so that I no longer have to lug huge binders from home to home. I was able to clear away a ton of clutter to house in my new cabinet and I even left a drawer for my mom to store all of her paperwork in, too. My filing cabinet makes me feel like an adulting champion and there is nothing better than that.

My new sunnies that I got for fifty cents was also a huge success from Happy Tails and I’ve worn them every day since I got them. Within the past year, seventy-five percent of the sunglasses that I’ve owned for years have broke. And, while I’m shopping at Target or TJMaxx, I just can’t justify spending twelve to fifteen bucks on a pair of shades. But, fifty scents for these mini framed, mint green beauties was something that I could definitely swing! I’ve wanted a pair like this for forever, and the funky color makes them unique and so totally fun!

Thrifting can bring tons of amazing steals and when your spendings go to a good cause, it makes it that much more enjoyable. I can’t wait to go shop at Happy Tails again soon. 😀

What is the best thing you’ve found at a thrift store? What are some ways that you shop smart? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

If The Shoe Fits: B.A.I.T. Edition

Hiii everyone and welcome to another issue of If The Shoe Fits! It’s been a while since I’ve had a good shoe haul, there’s no denying that. It’s also true that I really don’t need any more shoes, there’s no denying that. But, ModCloth’s warehouse sale was too good to pass up, and I walked away with three pairs of shoes for just under one hundred dollars. If I bought them all at their original price, it would have been an over three hundred dollar purchase! Like I said, it was a sale that was way too good to pass up. Take a look at these fun mules by B.A.I.T. and let’s discuss:

bait1bait3bait4bait2

Sweet daisies, mustard yellow, and a heeled mule make these new shoes the epitome of 1970’s feel good vibes. So retro and too cute for words, I just couldn’t say no to them. ModCloth has always been a haven for vintage and retro inspired duds and I think that these B.A.I.T. mules perfectly embody the style story that they are going for. I feel like I could see these shoes on the racks of a vintage store, but I love that I got them brand spanking new!

I can picture wearing these B.A.I.T. beauties with my dark wash denim A-line skirt that zips up the front and a black cropped sweater with a rainbow on it from Forever 21 for a sassy look that’s straight out of the 1970’s. So fun!

^^^ Love!! Can’t wait for the weather to get warm to bust this OOTD out.

How would you style these mules? What is your favorite type of shoe to wear? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

If The Shoe Fits: Lulu Hun Edition

If The Shoe Fits: Lulu Hun Edition

Hiii everyone and welcome to a new edition of If The Shoe Fits! Recently, ModCloth had a warehouse sale and everything in their markdown section was either forty, thirty, twenty, ten, or five dollars. It. Was. Amazing. When ModCloth has a sale that good, it’s hard not to buy anything and I ended up ordering three pairs of shoes for thirty dollars each. The best part, is that every single pair was well over one hundred dollars. Such a steal! Take a look at this darling heeled oxford pair by Lulu Hun and let’s discuss:

lulu1lulululu3lulu2

It was such fun to open my package once it arrived and be greeted by the adorable design on the box. The retro pinup girl is too cute and the motto “Style starts with shoes” is one that I definitely concur with, considering I can’t stop buying them to save my own life. Although there were many gorgeous clothing options to pick from during the warehouse sale, the trick was that every item you bought was final sale and could not be returned. I don’t have the guts to purchase final sale clothes online so shoes, shoes, and more shoes it was! So not mad about it, though. 😀

As soon as I saw these stunning Merlot and camel heeled oxfords, I just had to get them. The color combination is divine and they are versatile, because they will be great for work or play. There is nothing better than pairing a smart oxford style shoe with sharp skinnies for a cool business casual look. And, they will look so sweet come fall with a sweater dress, blazer, and thick tights.

My only complaint about these shoes, is the quality is not the best. I say this, because while I was putting them back in the box after taking pictures of them, one of my nails went into the material and when I say went into, I mean went through. My acrylics are actually quite dull right now because it’s been a while since I got them filled and they still managed to pierce the colored outer layer completely. It’s a small blemish but I’m not thrilled about it and plan on being extra careful when I wear them.

Despite a minor hiccup, I’m still really happy with this purchase and the bargain price that I got it at. 10/10 would hit the ModCloth warehouse sale again and hope they bring it back soon!

Which stores or websites offer the best sales? What is your favorite thing to shop on ModCloth? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Swatch In Red Heels

Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Swatch In Red Heels

Hiii everyone and welcome to the second swatch from my Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire collection samples. We are going to be looking at a gorgeous shade of red appropriately titled Red Heels. And, let me tell you, the glossy shine is so reminiscent of a brand spanking new pair of patent leather red stilettos and I am LIVING for it! Take a look and let’s discuss:

guerlain1guerlain2heelsheels1heels2

After falling head over heels for the other sample color in Pink Tie yesterday, I was so excited to give this luscious red a try. And, it definitely did not disappoint. These colors are my first stint at taking a closer look at gloss lippies and, once I got it in my head that it’s going to be a different look than my preferred matte, I was definitely more willing to like something new.

Lil Red is all about rich, saturated colors. And, I think that’s why I always go for matte lipsticks. I like that the color completely covers your lips while a gloss kind of just lays over top of it. I love these Guerlain colors and I think that a gloss would be a nice change of pace when I’m on the go at work, because it’s not so super done up. And, I can totally see myself applying it in my car mirror at a red light. Red lip gloss worn in a little red car? Ugh, forget about it! But, at the end of the day, it will always be all about the matte. Nevertheless, here’s to trying a new product!

Which Guerlain shade do you like better, Pink Tie or Red Heels? What lip products do you prefer to wear at work? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Swatch In Pink Tie

Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire Swatch In Pink Tie

Howdy! In my most recent Sephora haul, I chose a fragrance and some little pods of lipstick as my free samples. I love when they have lippie samples as an option, because they are so much fun to try out and swatch for the ol’ blog. Today, we will be looking at one of the two colors that came in my sample pack from Guerlain’s La Petite Robe Noire collection in Pink Tie. And (Shockingly!) I think I like it! Take a look and let’s discuss:

guerlain1guerlain2guerlain3guerlain4guerlain6

Okay, we all know that I am so not a pink lipstick girl. But, for some reason, I really really like this Guerlain lippie. It reminds me so much of my watermelon pink Clinique Chubby Stick if the color were more prominent and I’m looking forward to experimenting with it. Unfortunately, this color just doesn’t scream winter weather to me, so trying it out will probably involve me putting it on and immediately taking it off. But, I can totally picture Pink Tie being perfect with a darling dress in the spring and some daring short shorts in the summer. This shade is fun, poppy, and it’s not red – that’s for sure.

And, another thing that it’s not: MATTE. We also all know that I’m so not a glossy lipstick girl. But, for some reason, I really really like the shiny punch of pink. The other shade that came in my sample pod is a gorgeous red called Red Heels and I think that that glossy pop is going to be killer for an upcoming Valentine’s Day post. Keep your eyes peeled!

It’s no secret that Sephora’s free samples are the best. It’s always fun to try something new – and it’s always better when you end up liking the new thing that you tried! 😀

Are you a glossy or matte girl? What is the perfect shade of lippie for Valentine’s Day? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Clinique Chubby Stick Swatch In Super Strawberry

Clinique Chubby Stick Swatch In Super Strawberry

Hiiii! One of my newest obsessions as of late are the Clinique Chubby Sticks. They are a moisturizing lip balm that add a perfect pop of color without having to apply a lipstick. I love using the chubby sticks while I’m working, because I’m basically talking all day during my job and I never have to worry about the balm smearing, getting on my teeth, or making a big red mess while I’m eating. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll always be a red lipstick girl but, when you’re on the go constantly, nothing beats a tinted balm.

During my last Sephora haul, I used my Beauty Insider points to snag another chubby stick in Super Strawberry FO FREE. I was yearning for a balm in a red shade and this one hits the spot. Take a look at some pics and let’s discuss:

supersuper1super2

What I like about the Clinique Chubby Sticks the most is that you’re not just rubbing a sticky gloss on your lips. This balm is insanely hydrating, and that is exactly what I need during these frigid winter months, because my lips chap so easily to the point that they feel completely raw. This is another reason why I have been using these products more frequently than a normal lipstick during work, because nothing sucks away moisture like a lippie clinging onto your lips for dear life all day. The chubby sticks lock in soothing hydration on my lips while still making them very pretty and, the best part, is that I don’t have to constantly reapply it as if I were using a chapstick.

And, speaking of chapstick, this balm doesn’t create one of my biggest pet peeves – the white flecks that form on your lips while using a lip chap. I hate that SO much and I would constantly check if any of that filmy white goop was appearing if all I had on me was a chapstick to apply. Please tell me someone else knows what I’m talking about!

Anyways, lol, I love the Clinique Chubby Sticks and I pretty much want them in every color. That’s not too much to ask for, right? 😀

What product are you currently obsessed with? Who else is a big Clinique fan? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

TJMaxx Beauty Haul

TJMaxx Beauty Haul

Howdy! Thanks to some generous gift cards to my favorite store, TJMaxx, which I received for Christmas and some extra spending money compliments of their store credit card, I was able to have quite the beauty haul this past weekend. Whenever I have gift cards for TJ’s, I always try and purchase the things that I am going to need with it, like the products that I use in my skin and hair care routine. I made out like a bandit and got all of the following, which means that I won’t have to restock my hoard for a good long while. Check it out:

haulll

The Haul:

  • Alba Botanica Hawaiian facial wash
  • Evoluderm micellar water
  • Global Beauty Care Glowing Metallic face mask
  • The Body Shop Oils Of Life serum x2
  • Lanoline eye serum
  • Rusk heat protecting serum
  • Danielle Laroche day cream

When it comes to all of my skin care products, I like having the next one that I am going to use handy so I don’t have to make any emergency trips to the store because I ran out of moisturizer. My haul was completely free, and I was able to restock everything that I will need for the next handful of months. And, for the Oils Of Life serums, I’ll be set for at least a half a year. 😀

All of the products that I selected seemed to be of great quality, reasonable prices, and Leaping Bunny Certified. I am looking forward to trying out all of these new brands because, aside from The Body Shop, I’ve never used any of the above before. I am the most excited to try out the moisturizer and face mask. Since purchasing my Azure Lux Rose Gold Sparkling Serum from TJ’s a few months ago, I have been obsessed with products with gold in it. So, be on the lookout for a new Face Mask Festivities post coming soon!

Has anyone used any of the products that I purchased in my haul? What were your thoughts on them? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

New Matte Navy & Lavender Nails

New Matte Navy & Lavender Nails

Hiiii everyone! Thanks to a fabulous new salon and nail tech, I had the most wonderful pampering experience after my month of recovery from surgery. It felt so good to get a much needed fill and have some time to get beautiful after feeling awful for such a long time. And, I even experimented with some new colors and a matte top coat. My new nail tech, Sam, did a bang up job and I am nothing short of obsessed. Check it out:

navyy

The new salon that I have been going to is called Elysian Nails, and it is the most gorgeous and luxe salon I’ve ever been to. And, to make things even better, their prices are insanely low, despite such a posh atmosphere. I follow Elysian on Facebook, and I saw a picture of someone’s nails done in indigo matte and it looked so pretty that I just had to give a shade of blue and a matte coat a try.

I love navy blue and lavender together, so I thought that it would be a perfect color combo to go with as I venture away from all black everything on my nails. But, the matte finish looks so good that I told Sam that a black matte mani next fill just has to happen – no ifs, ands, or buts. I can’t wait!

Do you prefer a matte or glossy finish on your nails? What color of nail polish do you have on right now? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Diving Into Business Or Taking A Measured Approach: The Pros & Cons

Standard
Diving Into Business Or Taking A Measured Approach: The Pros & Cons

When you don’t have much experience in the field of business, there are a couple of different routes which can be taken to get yourself started. Some people will like to dive straight in, choosing to learn everything they need as they go, and dealing with problems in the moment. Others, though, will prefer to take a far more measured approach. To give you an idea of the key differences between these business-building options, this post will be exploring some of the key benefits of each of them:

Diving In:

Going right into something that you don’t understand will always come with some risks. Issues could come up which you are completely unprepared for and you could take the wrong approach entirely when it comes to making decisions. In return for this, you will have the chance to get started very quickly. You will benefit from the satisfaction of doing something entirely by yourself, while also getting the chance to improve yourself in other areas in the process. It will always take someone with very strong dedication to their business to succeed at something like this. If you’re looking to start a company, passion is the very first thing you need and those who dive right in definitely aren’t lacking in that department.

If you think the best option for you is to dive right in, do so with a plan and additional help in mind. A strong business plan with alternative solutions for problems will be your guide so make sure it is fool proof before making a big decision. Additionally, having extra help through a partner or two can go a long way. One person could be managing marketing. Another partner could be handling the shipment of products and researching options like freight to Germany (or your shipment destination). This can take a lot off of your plate so you can focus your attention to other areas.

Taking It Slow:

Taking a slower approach to this can take a couple of different forms, with some people preferring to go to school and others wanting to learn on the job. An online MBA can teach you practically everything you could need to get into running your own company. You will benefit from advice and support, and will be able to get a clear idea of where your talents lie. This will cost money, though, making it hard for some people to use and forcing them to look for other avenues. By getting a job as a business owners assistant for a while, you will gain similar skills, but will earn instead of having to spend.

Which Is For You?

In most cases, taking the slow road is usually the best option when you’re starting a business. This is something which you will want to support you in later life, and this makes it crucial that it is handled correctly. Of course, though, if you feel confident in yourself, it could be worth taking a risk on the more direct approach. Whichever you choose, the hard part of running your company is yet to come, and this means that work will be becoming a large part of your life.

With all of this in mind, you should be feeling ready to figure out how you’re going to start your business. There are ways to combine these options further, working to get the best out of both of them. In reality, though, this won’t take too long to be in the past, making it worth getting started on your route as soon as possible. As more people start their own companies, more resources spring up which are designed to help entrepreneurs just like you.
