Gifts Of Experience Ideas

Hello!!! It is definitely crunch time for finishing holiday shopping and that can be a difficult place to be. Stores are probably picked over, perhaps some gifts won’t arrive on time for a celebration, or you have no idea what to get someone. But, fear not because there is a solution! We’re talking about the gift of experience. Gifts of experience are an amazing way to go if you are in a bind or are shopping for someone who has everything. Let’s take a look at some ideas to get you started:

Art Classes:

Whether you’re young or old, it’s always fun to try something new and that can be done with art classes. It could be pottery, watercolor, sketching, even glass blowing! No matter what form of art you choose, it will provide a brand new experience for your giftee and that is the whole point. You could even take the class with your giftee for some extra quality time. This is a great option for adults and kids alike and you might just be introducing them to their new favorite hobby.

Gym Membership:

If your giftee has a passion for fitness, why not pay for a month or two of a gym membership? It could be to their own gym or a new one if they don’t have a set place. Most gym memberships include being able to take the classes being offered so you could join in as a guest too! While this is a gift that is more geared for adults, it can be tweaked for kids too. Maybe they want to take swim lessons or a little movers class? The gym can help with that! This is a perfect gift with New Year’s Resolutions being right around the corner!

Scent-sational:

How about some pampering for your giftee? There are lots of specialty boutiques that can help you create your own signature scent for a candle or bath and body care. This is an ideal option for someone on your list who appreciates the finer things in life or who lives for a trip to Bath & Body Works. Bath and body care is always a popular choice for presents and making your own puts a unique twist on a classic gift. I would love something like this!

Date Night:

Do you have any couples on your holiday shopping list? Treating them to a date night will be a huge hit! This could be anything from a nice dinner out to a ballroom dancing class or tickets to a play. You can also make a date night in kit if you can’t find anything out and about that would strike the fancy of your giftees. This could include a bottle of wine and some new board games, a grocery store gift card to cook a meal together, or a few months of a streaming service to watch all of their favorite shows. Whichever way you go, this is a thoughtful gift for the couples in your life.

Body Mods:

There is nothing quite like the experience of a new piercing or tattoo! If there is someone on your list who has an affinity for body mods, then I cannot stress enough how well a gift card to their favorite tattoo or piercing shop will go over. You will have won the holiday celebration, period. Lol, this is coming from my personal opinion as a gal with more tattoos than she can count. Nay, I am a personal expert because I know for a fact your body modded giftee will be psyched!

Gifts Of Experience are a fun take on traditional holiday presents and are a surefire way to go if you are experiencing shopping stress. These gifts are also a lovely way to show that you are actively listening when your giftee talks to you about their hobbies and interests!

What is a gift of experience you have received? Are you all done with your holiday shopping? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

A Lil Red Update

A Lil Red Update

Helloooo darlings! Is it just me or have these past few months been crazy? I feel like I have been going nonstop and am so looking forward to Christmas break even though I literally just took time off for Thanksgiving lol. Even though I have been on the move between all of my jobs and I am exhausted, it hasn’t been bad at all! In fact, I have made quite a few changes to my work schedule and have been enjoying it – even though this change requires me to get up at three AM a few mornings during the work week. 😮 So early, I know but so worth it!

Since October I have been providing transportation to one of my old clients to take him to work. I pick him up at seven thirty in the morning, but that doesn’t mean that I can sleep in until I have to leave. After lots of mental math, I realized that I would need to get up at three for my morning to go like usual. Get up, work out, take care of the bunnies, shower, take the buns out to play, write, and work from home for my other job for two hours. After all of this, it takes me to seven o’clock when I have to leave.

The mornings are a doozy, for sure, but I have so loved seeing my old client again that I don’t even care. What’s even better is that our day together doesn’t end once we get to his job because I have recently became his job coach too! I got my job coaching certification a few years ago for another client and, unfortunately, it fell through. I never sought out another client for that particular aspect of my job so it was most exciting for the opportunity to give it a shot. I like to think I’m rocking it, but my client takes the cake and it has been a great experience for both of us. 🙂

My work in the field isn’t the only thing that has been keeping me busy busy because online work has been nuts too. Gotta love peak advertising season! Between lifewithlilred, my job as an in house writer for a tech entrepreneur, and potentially creating a podcast with a local celebrity, it’s safe to say that I have had a lot of quality time with my computer. It’s a lot, yes, but once again it is extremely fulfilling and I am thrilled with all of the ways that my different jobs have been taking off. I feel so proud of myself and it keeps me motivated to keep working hard to achieve even more of my goals.

With all of these changes to my work schedule, I am patting myself on the back and giving myself an “attagirl” for being all done with my holiday shopping! I knew there was a reason that I started around August because it’s one less thing I have to worry about now. Well… Except for wrapping everything lol but, otherwise, it’s a wrap. I can’t wait to keep working my hardest until my holiday break and hope the new year starts just as strong!

What has been going on in your wonderful world? How has work been going for you? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Thanksgiving Pt. 2 OOTD Bloopers

Helloooo everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Thanksgiving Pt. 2 OOTD! For Thanksgiving, I had four days off in total and it was absolutely magnificent. I cannot remember the last time I had that much time off in a row – probably not since we vacationed in the Poconos over two years ago! It was basically a Thanksgiving miracle, but it was SO hard to get back to work come Monday. I feel like I went through most of the week half asleep lol. During this OOTD shoot, however, I was wide awake because holy shit was it cold haha check it out:

What an amazing action shot, amiright?

WTF is this, guys? lol YIKES

image_50461953(7)

Back in the day when I was ice skating a lot, I would say that I had a very high tolerance to cold weather. I was so used to it that it never really phased me. Fast forward to when I have not skated in forever and any semblance of tolerance to the cold has flown out the window. Whatever the weather, I will never stop shooting OOTD content. Having said that, these Thanksgiving photo shoots were freaking miserable! Not only was the temperature frigid, but it was windy as all get out and made things so much worse. It was the kind of cold that literally just goes right through you.

Speaking of being cold, it is forever freezing in my apartment compliments of my sweet husband. ❤ Johnny runs hot both in looks and temperature wise. Myself, on the other hand, am a huge freeze baby. We are constantly turning our thermostat up and down, much to each other’s displeasure. While I never back down from a challenge, I have admitted defeat in the Great Thermostat Battle of 2023 because I cannot win! That’s not to say that the cold apartment doesn’t have its perks because there is one… I put my freezing hands and feet on Johnny and lovingly remind him that he is doing it to himself. How adorable are we? 😉

I don’t miss the scorching days of summer, but I would be elated if I could transport to a 70s and sunny location right about now. I guess I’ll make do with make believe as I wrap myself in yet another blanket SMH!

What is winter weather like in your neck of the woods? What is your perfect temperature? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Thanksgiving Pt. 2 OOTD

Thanksgiving Pt. 2 OOTD

Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new OOTD here on lifewithlilred! You guys already saw the look I created for Thanksgiving day at my mom and dad’s and today we’re going to take a gander at what I wore to celebrate with Johnny’s family. We spent a wonderful day with Johnny’s mom, dad, and aunt the day after Thanksgiving. We had a delicious meal, played lots of goofy games like Quiplash, and had an absolute blast. For Thanksgiving Pt. 2, I wanted to style an OOTD that was cute, of course, but comfy too. Your girl was in a food coma from the day before lol! Check it out:

image_50769665(2)image_50769921(2)image_50456065(6)image_50734593(3)image_50737409(1)

Who? What? Wear?

Cheetah Print Cardigan: Ruby Moon, TJMaxx

Black Sweater: Shrinking Violet, TJMaxx

Coated Skinny Jeans: Seven Jeans, TJMaxx

Red Heeled Boots: Bamboo, TJMaxx

Coin Necklace: Mia Fiore, TJMaxx

I have no idea where the cross earrings are from!

Whenever I think of “cute and comfy” for cold weather clothing, my mind instantly conjures up cardigans. I love me a cardigan SO much and have quite the collection in every style and knit imaginable. Cardis are a fun piece of clothing because they are truly a dress up or dress down piece. An outfit featuring a cardigan can be as casual or as dressy as you make it and I chose my cheetah print cardi by Ruby Moon to get my OOTD started. Like my husband, I am very fond of animal print and the cheetah pattern of this cardigan just hit different. The jet black pattern against the wheat colored base felt chic and added a touch of sophistication to such a classic comfort piece.

Once I had selected my cardigan, the rest of the outfit was super easy to build from there. It was FREEZING on Thanksgiving Day and it was just as cold on Friday too. To stay warm, I put on a black sweater by Shrinking Violet. This was the perfect layering piece for underneath my cardi because it was thin and form fitting. Remember when layering that two thicker pieces on top of each other is a major no no unless you like looking like a marshmallow! I also liked that this sweater was completely plain so it let the cheetah print do all of the talking.

Next, it was time to visit the pants department and I knew just what I needed: My coated black skinnies by Seven Jeans. These actually feature a snakeskin pattern but you would never know unless you are really looking for it. However, it wasn’t the pattern I was interested in for these jeans but the texture. With two knit pieces on top, I wanted to add some visual interest on the bottom and my Seven Jeans gave the sheen to break things up. This was another way to keep my OOTD feeling chic even though I was purely dressing for comfort.

Finally, it was onto shoes and accessories. For jewelry, I had a nice blank canvas from the plain Shrinking Violet sweater so I could get away with a chunky necklace that had some length. I went for a stunning necklace by Mia Fiore that featured a bright gold chain and an antique coin as the pendant. I also put on a pair of long dangly cross earrings to offer some extra length to my neck since it was rather covered up. Since the base of this outfit was completely neutral, I knew that I could have some fun with the shoes. I chose my pointed toe, cherry red heeled boots by Bamboo and it gave a fabulous pop of color. With that, I was ready to go eat even more Thanksgiving food! 😀

I styled two completely different looks this Thanksgiving and I love how both of them turned out. For Thanksgiving Pt. 2, I wanted to style a look that would never let you know I was dressing to be comfy and I think I succeeded!

What do you wear to dress for comfort? What is your favorite pattern to wear? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Lil Red’s Book Club: Counting The Cost – A Memoir By Jill Duggar Edition

Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new edition of Lil Red’s Book Club! I’m sure at one point in all of our lives we were either fascinated, weirded out, or both by the Duggar family. I know it was a combo for me and today, we will be discussing Jill Duggar’s memoir called Counting The Cost in a spoiler free setting. Before we begin, I will be placing a trigger warning on this book for sexual and mental abuse and religious trauma. Now, let’s get to it:

image_6487327(24)

Jill is one of the eldest Duggar daughters and the way she grew up was clearly different than most of us. Some of it had to do with her parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, and some of it had to do with their religious upbringing. The Duggar family belonged to the Institute in Basic Life Principles (IBLP), which was ran by a pedophile named Bill Gothard. The teachings of the IBLP were strict and strange. Rather than teaching about their god’s love, the IBLP focused on the wrath of god if a member of the flock were to stray. Straying could mean anything from a female wearing pants to drinking alcohol or not popping out as many children as god would allow.

Due to these teachings, it’s not hard to see why Michelle gave Jim Bob nineteen children in total. As an older daughter in an ever growing brood, Jill had a lot of responsibility and learned how to be a people pleaser from the start. She had “little buddies” AKA young siblings whose care was up to her and had to answer her parents with a “yes or no ma’am or sir”. Jill was the yes-girl in her household and thrived on her parents’ praise, earning her a special nickname of Sweet Jilly Muffin. And, why would Sweet Jilly Muffin do anything to upset her parents much less her lord?

To Jill, their lifestyle seemed normal and anything outside of their home was foreign and scary. That’s not to say that she didn’t enjoy outings with her family and she liked shuttling about with her dad when he ran for state Senator. Jim Bob didn’t win his election, but he gained a reality TV show when a journalist snapped a picture of his huge family. At first, the Duggars appeared in a few hour long documentaries of their lives and then it turned into a full fledged reality show on TLC called X Amount of Kids And Counting. Jim Bob considered this to be their “ministry” and was thrilled to be able to show off his IBLP family on national TV.

Although Jill struggled at first with the camera crew being constantly in her home, she took it in stride because that’s what a good daughter does. While she felt embarrassed in front of the cameras, she loved the perks of travel and big shopping trips to Aldi paid for by TLC. As her family grew and their popularity rose, it felt like the Duggars could do no wrong. But, every family has secrets and the Duggars were harboring a dark one – the fact that some of the daughters were sexually abused by their eldest brother, Josh.

With every scandal that broke about the disgraced brother, the shit would hit the metaphorical fan. The family show was cancelled, but a spin off show was created to focus on the adult Duggars called Jill and Jessa: Counting On. This series covered the new marriage of Jill to her husband Derrick, the birth of their son, and their mission work in El Salvador. In her brand new life, Jill and Derrick realized that something was severely lacking: Money.

Being a new parent and trying to get their own missions off the ground meant that Jill and Derrick needed funds. Oddly enough, they didn’t make a dime from their time on reality TV. Her relationship with her parents became strained and she learned that maybe they weren’t the trustworthy, all knowing people that she thought. The book explores Jill emerging from under Jim Bob and Michelle’s thumb to learn how to be herself. Not Sweet Jilly Muffin but Jill. How did this effect her family relationships? Drastically. So read Counting The Cost to find out more!

There is SO much about the Duggar family that I disagree with, but I am not going to get into that. I will say, that I was very impressed with Jill and have been since watching the documentary on her family called Shiny Happy People. Although this book covered a lot of what was already discussed in the documentary, it was still really good all the same and it was interesting to read Jill’s experience in her own words. As an outsider looking into her family, it’s so easy to see where her trauma came from and I thought she was really brave to come out and talk about it.

Throughout the book, I found myself rooting hard for Jill and it was a joy to read about her finding herself. I was elated when she talked about her choice to wear pants, get a nose piercing, and *gasp* enjoy a cocktail with her husband. I was also so happy to read that she sought out counseling to improve her declining mental health from the strain of her upbringing. Jill showed tremendous courage in her life to make these changes and choose what’s right for her and her family even if it meant sacrificing relationships with them. Counting The Cost was Jill finding her own voice and truth and it was a powerful read.

Counting The Cost isn’t a book of Jill straight up shit talking her family, even if some of them deserve it. It’s a story of a girl whose wings were clipped and how she learned to fly anyway. I am going to rate Counting The Cost with a seven out of ten stars and definitely recommend it if you are just as curious about the Duggar family as I was!

What are you currently reading? What should I read next? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Thanksgiving Day OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Thanksgiving Day OOTD! I had the most wonderful Thanksgiving with both my family and Johnny’s and I hope all of you enjoyed your day too. And, yes, trust and believe I went to town on all of the green bean casserole!! Lol, I had been waiting for that moment for so long and I don’t understand how it’s such a heavily debated Thanksgiving side dish. It is straight fire! But, I digress. Let’s take a look at some of these shots that I am not feeling particularly thankful about 😉 :

I like to think I’m an expert at wearing heels, but I am forever tripping myself up!

Holidays are always a special time to me and they are even more fun with my sweet nieces, Val Gal and Raya. Those little ladies are hilarious and Johnny and I will forever be wrapped around their little fingers! One thing that I love about Val is her passion for fashion. She picks out her own outfits and is most partial to adorable dresses. Real recognizes real, and she can tell that we are one in the same when it comes to style. Val was obsessed with my kitten heels and I assured her they weren’t hard to walk in and she could have them when she was older. Her eyes turned as big as saucers! A shoe girl after my own heart. ❤

What Val liked the most from my Thanksgiving Day OOTD was my forest green shawl with a faux fur collar. When I showed it to her she literally gasped lol she is SO my niece! I put the shawl on Val and it looked like a cape on her, so I declared her Queen Valerie and she settled into that role very nicely. Johnny and I went from aunt and uncle to her royal guards and we spent the evening doting after the queen. That is, until Johnny tried to usurp the throne and ended up being banished to the “dungeon” AKA the basement lol. Hey, what can I say, my lil fashionista rules her kingdom with a firm hand!

It is such a joy to share a love of fashion with my niece and I cannot wait to watch her style continue to develop. I think we have another future fashion blogger in the family, for sure!

What is a Thanksgiving food that you don’t like? Do any of your relatives share similar interests with you? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Thanksgiving Day OOTD

Thanksgiving Day OOTD

Helloooo everyone and welcome to a brand new OOTD here on lifewithlilred! I had such a wonderful Thanksgiving and I hope the same for all of you. On Thursday, Johnny and I spent a beautiful day at my mom and dad’s house and went to see his family on Friday. Believe you me, we were very tired and so very full after all of the festivities lol. As far as I know all of my clothing still fits, though, so that’s a plus! Thanksgiving food is my absolute favorite. 😀 When you think about it, Thanksgiving is kind of a funny holiday because everyone gets dressed up to sit around and eat. Here is yours truly rocking her Turkey Day best:

image_50457345(8)image_50738945(8)image_50735105(2)image_50741249image_50749441(3)image_50733313(2)

Who? What? Wear?

Faux Fur Collar Shawl: This was a Christmas gift from my mom

Cami Top: mittoshop, French Rooster

Body Con Skirt: Originality, Dry Goods

Kitten Heels: Nine West, TJMaxx

Earrings: American Eagle Outfitters

The necklace was my grandma’s ❤

I wanted to put together a really special look for Thanksgiving and I am so happy with that I came up with. I definitely struggled when I first started shopping in my closet because the weather outside was freezing, but I knew that it would be toasty and warm at chez mom and dad’s. I figured I would rather be cold for a few minutes than stuffy all day so I threw caution to the wind when I decided on wearing a skirt. I selected one of my fave body con skirts from Dry Goods and I thought the colors and pattern were so perfect for Thanksgiving. It also was a strategic choice because this little number by Originality still offered some wiggle room despite its tighter fit. God knows I needed it! 😀

Choosing a top was very simple and I went with a gorgeous lace cami by mittoshop. The oyster shell color is so unique and pretty and it complimented the skirt beautifully. I tucked the top in and it formed a pseudo dress, which is a clothing combo that I am most fond of. The only question was what to wear over it! Most of my jackets have a longer fit, which I didn’t think would be flattering with a short skirt. I decided on the forest green shawl my mom got me several Christmases ago and it was just what I needed! The color palette established felt so rich and I loved the chic silhouette that formed once the base of my look was settled.

Finally, it was onto shoes and accessories. For shoes, I went with a too cute pair of kitten heels by Nine West. These were a pair that I had admired for a long time from TJMaxx and my only regret is not buying them sooner. How darling is that pointed toe and blingy strap going across the foot?! These heels added a bit of length without going overboard and kept a nice, long leg line in tact thanks to their slip on style. The last thing to complete the look was jewelry and I chose a small pair of gold earrings from American Eagle Outfitters. While I love a bold pair of earrings, it would have been too much against the faux fur collar of the shawl. There was, however, a lot of open real estate on my neck so I put on my absolute favorite necklace from my grandma. With that, I was ready to get my grub on because you know I had to look fierce while doing so! 🙂

I had an amazing Thanksgiving with all of my family and that was the best thing ever. The outfit isn’t all that bad, either!

How was your Thanksgiving? What did you wear to your celebration? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

How To Explore Your Career Options In The Medical Field

Standard
How To Explore Your Career Options In The Medical Field

Statistics show that about 44% of people are planning to make a career switch. If you are in this group, career exploration can help you figure out your next steps, whether you are a recent graduate looking for a job or a seasoned professional considering a change. The purpose of this process is to understand more about your alternatives and limit your selections to one path that best suits you. Career exploration can also help you gain confidence that will impress a hiring manager and connect you with people in various sectors. This post will highlight how to explore your career options in the medical field:

Start with yourself:

Consider what piques your interest, what you like doing, and what inspires you. If you are a recent graduate from medical school, consider the roles you played in school projects, groups, or part-time work that you excelled at or enjoyed. If you are thinking about changing careers, evaluate what you have always wanted to accomplish or what you liked and disliked about your past jobs. Make a list of what is essential to you in a profession, as well as specializations or issues that can inspire you.

Look at possible careers:

After you have developed a list of places and roles that interest you the most, begin studying occupations that meet most of, if not all, of your requirements. Learn about job descriptions, typical earnings, job outlook, education and training requirements, and everyday tasks. Now, make a list of your top alternatives. This stage allows you to make an informed decision, so keep this in mind. As a tip, consider completing a free online assessment as part of your study to determine what occupations would suit your interests, experience, and skills. For instance, if you wish to work as an emergency medical technician, you can schedule a paramedic ride along to get hands-on experience.

Get rid of any jobs that do not interest you:

Some job paths may not be in your best interest as you continue to research them. Some may demand more knowledge and hard skills than you presently have or wish to obtain, others may pay less than you want to make, and still, others may not have a good employment outlook, which might lead to job instability later on. Be as picky as you need to be during this phase so that you end up with feasible prospects. Not only does this set you up for success, but you can avoid wasting your time.

Get interactive with people in the field:

You may conduct a lot of study on your final job alternatives, but the finest insights into your selection will likely come from individuals who are currently working in the field. Contact people in your professional network or instructors if you are in college and ask if they know anyone you can contact who would be willing to chat with you about their experience. Ask questions, get information, and build future connections.

Doing your research and the good old fashioned process of elimination will help you better explore careers in the medical field!

November 2023 Finishes

November 2023 Finishes

Howdy!! November is drawing to a close, which can only mean that it’s time to discuss my monthly beauty finishes. I can’t say that this was the most successful month of empties, but damnit if it isn’t satisfying to finish products up lol. Good or bad, I always enjoy trying something new so it’s always exciting for me to use something up and move onto the next thing! There isn’t too much to discuss today so let’s keep things short and sweet and get right to it:

image_50364929(2)

Would I Use Again?

Evoluderm Micellar Water: YES

IGK Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm: YES!!!!

Bath & Body Works Mimosa & Spearmint Hand Cream: MAYBE

Peptid+ Collagen Moisturizer: NO

Why/Why Not?

IGK Hair Balm: The Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm from Sephora is an absolute must in my stockpile. I got a sample of it many moons ago in a free Sephora Play! Box and immediately bought it in full size and have been using it ever since. I use this product before straightening my hair, but also sporadically throughout the week to give my locks the moisture boost it needs. The IGK hair balm leaves my hair so soft and shiny and serves as an amazing heat protector too. With my shorter hair, I only need about a nickle sized dollop because a little goes such a long way. It takes me between five or six months to finish one bottle and is worth every penny.

B&BW Hand Cream: I am not a fan of the hand cream from Bath & Body Works in any sense of the word. In my opinion, they don’t moisturize well and the texture is very greasy. I am always disappointed when I get a freebie coupon for a hand cream in the mail, but free is free. The Mimosa & Spearmint scent left a lot to be desired and it smelled neither here nor there. I noticed no positive improvement in the dryness of my skin in the week it took me to finish the travel size tube.

Peptid+ Moisturizer: I have been dabbling more in moisturizers with collagen or retinal in it as I approach my thirties. Unfortunately, this Peptid+ Collagen Moisturizer was not it. It took me about four weeks of twice daily use to finish the jar. While I appreciated the value of it, this moisturizer is one that I wouldn’t use again or recommend. It did nothing for my skin and, therefore, did nothing for me. In fact, I am noticing more positive differences with the moisturizer I just started using as opposed to this one! It’s a no from me, dawg.

November was a bit of a dud for empties, but that’s okay! It’s nice to know what products to not spend money on again and I like to let all of you know my findings too. A penny saved is a penny earned or whatever! 😀

Which products did you use up this month? What are your thoughts on any of the above products if you have used them before? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Hello everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Navy, Baby OOTD! Creating outfit posts on lifewithlilred is one of my most favorite things and it turns next level after I get my hair done. When I style OOTDs, I love everything about the process. It feels exciting to me to go through my wardrobe and shop as if I have never seen my clothing/shoes/accessory collection before. While it’s always fun to style looks with brand new clothes, it adds more of a challenge to turn old pieces in my wardrobe into something that feels new again. That was definitely the case with my Navy, Baby OOTD and it was so neat to breathe new life into these older pieces (The peacoat is over a decade old!). This type of styling really requires you to think about your clothes differently than you have before and I am so pleased with what I came up with.

The OOTD fun isn’t done when my look is styled and what comes after is my absolute favorite part: Taking pictures with Johnny! He is the most wonderful blog husband and no matter how much he playfully drags his feet, he is always up to the challenge of making me look good lol. Shooting this outfit was a bit of a chore because the lighting sucked. We tried so many different locations before settling on one and he was patient and most helpful in my endeavors. It forever warms my heart when he suggests a spot that he thinks might work! Johnny is nothing short of elated once I am satisfied with the pictures we took, but knowing I have an in house photographer whenever I need is something I am so thankful for. He is the absolute best!

My Navy, Baby OOTD was a fun experience from start to finish. I had a blast shopping in my closet and an even better time hanging around MUD CREEK with Johnny to shoot both winners and total losers of pictures! ❤

What is the oldest piece of clothing you own? Do you prefer taking pictures or being in them? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
