Simple Solutions For A Pest Free Home This Winter

Pests are not something that anyone wants to have around the house. However, these little creatures sneak into our homes when the weather outside is cold and dry. They look for places with minimal airflow and humid conditions as these help them thrive in such situations. Keeping your home pest-free during  the winter is not an easy task. The best way to prevent pests from sneaking into your home is by checking possible entry points at all times. Here are some tips to keep your home pest-proof this winter:

Maintain a clean and tidy home:

Cleaning and tidying up your home are essential to keeping your home pest-free. As a part of your regular cleaning schedule, keep your house free of clutter. Make sure to eliminate all messes that may be providing shelter to pests. Pests love dark, humid, and warm places filled with tiny particles. Regular cleaning will help you keep favorable conditions for your family and not pests.

Seal up your home correctly:

Doors and windows are the most common entry points for pests. Make sure there is no gap between the window and the frame and that house doors are tightly fitted against the jamb to prevent pests from entering your home. Roofs and foundations are other areas where pests can quickly enter your home. Make sure there are no gaps or cracks in these areas too.

Use pest control services:

If you cannot control pests on your own, hiring professionals for pest control services is a good idea. They will help you identify the pests that have entered your home, determine the best way to remove them, and prevent them from returning. If you opt for pest control services, make sure to do your research and learn more about the services available. You should look for companies with a good reputation, eco-friendly chemicals, and knowledgeable staff.

Use essential oils:

Essential oils are natural and non-toxic. They can repel pests without causing any damage to your furniture, carpets, or walls. Moreover, they do not leave any harmful residue behind. They have a strong smell and can be used to keep pests away. You can place them in a diffuser or even use a cotton ball to rub them on door knobs, hinges, or any other area where pests might enter your home. Apart from pests, these oils can also be used to repel mice and other insects. Choose peppermint, eucalyptus, or lavender to help keep your home pest free this winter.

Pests are a real problem that can affect the health of your family. Keep on top of the tips above to keep any unwanted guests at bay!

Loving: My Nebulizing Diffuser

Loving: My Nebulizing Diffuser

Hello! A couple of weeks ago, I began using the Aurora Nebulizing Diffuser by Organic Aromas and I have been absolutely loving it. Other than a stint in my teens when I enjoyed making bath and body care products, I never was too interested in essential oils. While I understand that there can be benefits, I always thought that people were over exaggerating. However, this product made me eat my words and my mornings no longer feel complete without turning my diffuser on. Let’s discuss:

Okay, before we really get into it, I seriously can’t mention essential oils without talking about Impractical Jokers. Johnny and I are huge fans of the show and there was one episode when the guys had to perform their antics while getting a massage. Q was told that he had to pronounce “oil” as “Earl” and, of course, Johnny and I now refer to my essential oils as essential Earls lol.

ANYWHO, I started my journey with my Organic Aromas diffuser by using their Signature Blend. I did enjoy this scent and it was great for relaxing at home after work. Johnny, on the other hand, wasn’t a fan and it actually gave him a stomachache so I had to use it when he wasn’t home! I will be the first to admit that it was pretty pungent but it definitely did its job because I felt so soothed when I was using it.

The Peppermint oil was a game changer, though. After getting out of the shower, I would put it in my diffuser before starting my writing routine and I noticed a big difference in how I felt on day one. The fresh peppermint scent felt like an additional caffeine boost for those groggy mornings and I do feel like it improved both my focus and alertness when working in the morning.

Not only did I feel extra awake, but my airways felt way less congested too. This Ohio winter has been a flip flop between moderate temperatures, rain, single digit temps, and snow storms and I have felt permanently clogged up since November. My body just can’t jive between the constantly changing temps and it has been really annoying, to say the least. The first day using the peppermint oil was the first day I have felt “normal” since the fall and I can’t get enough of it!

We all know that I am a fanatic when it comes to my beauty hoard and I think essential oils are going to start making a huge addition to my stock pile. I am so eager to try all of the different scents and plan on purchasing some citrus and eucalyptus oil next! 😀

What are your favorite essential oils? Have you noticed any differences from using them? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Hello everyone! We interrupt your regularly scheduled programming from my TJMaxx Winter Haul again because I have an exciting product to share with all of you! Today, we are going to be discussing my gorgeous new Aurora Nebulizing Diffuser by Organic Aromas. I have had it on nonstop in my apartment since I received it in the mail. In fact, it’s on right now as I write this post! Check out my unboxing and continue reading on for the review:

Peep this video to see it in action:

My Aurora Nebulizing Diffuser kit from Organic Aromas came with everything that I needed for soothing scents to envelope my apartment all of the time. Not only did it include all of the items that I need for cleaning it but it also came with two essential oils to get me started. I am currently using the Signature Blend essential oil, which is a lovely mixture of Elemi, Clary Sage, Cajeput, Chamomile, and Bergamot – it is divine and perfect to use when chilling at home. I also received the Peppermint oil, which will be great to help wake me up in the morning!

The amazing thing about this product is that it is pure scent particles coming out of the diffuser – not water. This provides the ultimate experience for all of your aromatherapy needs because the oils are not being diluted, giving you the full benefits of whichever essential oil you choose. As soon as I turn on my Aurora Diffuser with the Signature Blend, I instantly feel more relaxed, making it the ideal scent after a long day at work.

Not only are the products by Organic Aromas effective, but they are beautiful too. I love the pearl like shape of my diffuser because it reminds me of my engagement ring! The diffusers will enhance your home decor with their simple yet elegant designs. Some of the diffusers can even change colors with the LED lights so you can suit the color palette in your living room or bedroom.

I cannot recommend the Organic Aromas essential oils and diffusers enough. Treat yourself or someone else for a gift because you have the Lil Red Guarantee that it will make a much loved edition to anyone’s home!

What is your favorite scent? What makes you feel relaxed? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Completely Natural Ways To Relieve Pain

If you are someone who suffers from chronic pain or acute pain occasionally, such as headaches or migraines, then using medication can definitely help with pain relief. However, long-term use can cause some harmful side effects, and if they are made to be something to rely on, then that could have long-term addiction consequences. That is why looking for some more natural ways to relieve pain can be a good idea.

For generations, herbs, essential oils, and other natural therapies have been used as pain relievers. There is evidence that these can work and it could be beneficial to try some to see what works best for you if you’re looking for a natural alternative. Here are some ideas to consider:

Lavender essential oil:

If you are looking for natural pain relief, then lavender essential oil is something that can help. It can be used in a number of ways, from helping people to sleep better to easing anxiety or relieving pain. There is some research that suggests that lavender oil can help animals with pain relief too, as well as acting as an anti-inflammatory, so it really can be used in a number of ways.

Rosemary essential oil:

Rosemary is an amazing herb to add to your food, but did you know about its pain-relieving properties? Rosemary is a plant that you can grow yourself very easily and it can be used to help muscles and pain in bones, as well as treat headaches and help with seizures. One of the best ways to apply rosemary essential oil is to combine droplets with a carrier oil, such as olive oil or coconut oil. Then it can be easily rubbed on the site that needs relief.

CBD oil:

CBD is something that you have probably heard a lot about lately, as it is taking the world by storm for the amazing health benefits that it has. Derived from the hemp plant, it is completely natural and can be found in many forms, from CBD pain relief cream to oil droppers and gummies. They can be used for a variety of different things from pain to anxiety, as well as helping with stress.

Ginger:

Ginger is a root that has been proven through research to be a completely natural way to relieve pain. A review of it found that having even just a small amount, such as 2g per day, can help to relieve pain, especially muscular pain, when taken for at least five days or more. The same evidence also showed that consuming ginger can help to aid recovery and reduce any muscular inflammation that is associated with exercise.

One way to include it in your diet can be through drinking ginger tea, but you could put it raw into smoothies or chop pieces up to have with other drinks like tea. You can find ginger supplements too, which could be a simpler way to get more ginger into your diet.

If you experience pain frequently, try incorporating any of these suggestions into your life for a natural relief.
