Lil Red’s Book Club: Nailbiter Vol. 4 “Blood Lust” By Joshua Williamson Edition

Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new edition of Lil Red’s Book Club! In a spoiler free setting, as always, we will be discussing the fourth volume of Nailbiter called Blood Lust. This horror series has been simply riveting and unputdownable in every sense of the word. I don’t think I have ever read a graphic novel before with jump scares that literally make me say “oh shit” out loud lol! Like its predecessors, I finished Volume Four in one sitting and am so happy to have the entire collection so I can keep greedily reading away. Before we begin our chat, I will be placing a big fat trigger warning for gore, graphic violence, and disturbing content. Now, let’s get to it:

image_50411777(3)

Volume Three of Nailbiter involved a lot of time traveling into the past. Volume Four involves actual travel because the panic of the Buckaroo Butchers has spread across America. As suspended Sheriff Crane tends to her injured daughter, Alice, Finch and Agent Barker of the FBI are working on a new case. In Atlanta, Georgia a serial killer has been making quite a splash. The “Devil Killer” poses and mutilates his victims so they look like demons and his body count is rising. The local police have who they consider to be the primary suspect, except he won’t talk which is why Barker and Finch are called in. His name is Daniel and he proclaims his innocence. However, his birth place of Buckaroo, Oregon made the local force convinced he was the killer.

Meanwhile in Buckaroo, Edward “Nailbiter” Warren is MIA after encountering the masked killer in the tunnels underneath the serial killer graveyard. Crane has more pressing things on her mind, though. Between caring for Alice, she does some investigating of her own into Doctor Glory who works at the hospital and was warned about from Warren. She also seeks out town records that were supposedly destroyed in a fire. Where else would these records be except under the church of Reverend Fairgold that was built over the ashes of the old town hall. A begrudging alliance is formed between these two enemies – Fairgold will give Crane the records if they work together to stop the murders in Buckaroo and our time in Oregon draws to a close.

Back in Atlanta, Finch and Barker are hard at work tracking down the real Devil Killer as they are sure of Daniel’s innocence. As they investigate, Barker experiences pounding headaches and imagines scenes of graphic violence against anyone who looks at her sideways. This doesn’t sidetrack her too much and we learn that all of the Devil Killer’s victims are people who were formerly from Buckaroo. These people sought a life away from their hometown under new identities so they would have better shots at education, employment, and love. They needed help to make their escape and it came from an unlikely source: The Nailbiter, himself.

At the latest crime scene of the Devil Killer, Finch and Barker are reunited with Warren who has been in Atlanta since his run in with the masked killer. As we all know, Warren loves to play god and would track people from Buckaroo to see if they were being good boys and girls. He killed along the way and helped those who wanted a new life to flee. There are only two of Warren’s escapees left alive in Atlanta and the Devil Killer is still on the loose. Who could it be? And what is the shocking finale to volume four? Give it a read and find out!

Blood Lust strayed from the traditional formula of being confined strictly to Buckaroo like the first three volumes. It was quite a jump to go from the doom and gloom of Oregon to sunny Atlanta. This might seem like a pointless plot to the story line of solving the Buckaroo Butchers mystery, but it is most certainly not. The reasoning why is a huge spoiler, which I am so not about! What I can say, is that it is amazing how far the reach of the powers that be expands.

Volume Four gave us the opportunity to learn more about Agent Barker. She was a pretty minor role up until now so it was interesting to see her and Finch work together because they don’t exactly see eye to eye. We also got to experience very different sides of Finch and Warren as they worked the Devil Killer case, which was cool to see. In terms of intel to the mystery at hand, we gained a great big goose egg. This was similar to Volume Two and it might cause a bit of frustration to inquiring minds. However, Volume Two set the stage for absolute mayhem in the next issues and that is surely the case for what’s to come in Volume Five. I can’t wait to read it!

I am going to rate Volume Four of Nailbiter with a seven out of ten stars. This was probably my least favorite in the series so far but that’s not to say that it wasn’t really good! It was, but I expect Volume Five to be even better!

What are you currently reading? What should I read next? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

AFI Concert

AFI Concert

Hello!!! As you all know, I very rarely do much of anything that isn’t work related during the week days. My schedule is always crazy and I like to be well rested every day so I can do my best. However, sometimes exceptions need to be made because all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy! This past Wednesday, I enjoyed the most amazing sister’s night out with Kristen to see AFI and 30 Seconds To Mars at Blossom Music Center. We scored fantastic seats in the pavilion, had a perfect view of the stage, and spent the evening living our best lives together. Check it out:

IMG_8755IMG_8823IMG_8764IMG_8752IMG_8770IMG_8786IMG_8787IMG_8806IMG_8792IMG_8841IMG_8856IMG_8834

Kristen and I were not interested in seeing the two opening acts, KennyHoopla and Poppy because we never heard of them and frankly didn’t care. We arrived right when Poppy was finishing their set and they actually sounded really good so we are both going to be looking into that! Very shortly after we settled into our seats, AFI entered the stage and we were so happy to have gotten there right in the knick of time. We haven’t seen AFI in seven years since they played at the House of Blues and we didn’t want to miss a minute of it.

The show opened with Girls Not Grey and when I say Kristen and I lost our shit, I mean we literally lost our shit lol. We were going absolutely crazy singing our lungs out and dancing like no one was watching. We were both huffing and puffing after three songs and needed to take a breather and it turns out people were watching! The concertgoers sitting behind us apparently were deciding amongst themselves if we were sisters or not and one of the ladies was so triumphant because she called it. Kristen and I often get told we don’t look alike at all but that’s simply not true. Our style might be polar opposites but our faces are incredibly similar. The reasoning behind this gal’s educated guess was so sweet – she told us we were dancing exactly alike. ❤

AFI’s set included tons of crowd pleasers like Miss Murder, Love Like Winter, I Hope You Suffer, and Beautiful Thieves. Kristen and I were both elated that the show closed with our all time favorite of Silver And Cold! AFI sounded amazing from beginning to end and were just as good, if not better, than when we saw them almost a decade ago. Our only regret was that their set wasn’t longer. They played for roughly forty-five minutes or so with no encore and it just wasn’t enough. AFI was the reason we were going out to begin with and in my perfect world they would have played all night.

30 Seconds To Mars took the stage at nine o’clock and Kristen and I both agreed on leaving after thirty minutes to avoid traffic. We left after twenty minutes because they lightweight sucked lol. Neither of us are 30 Seconds fans but we were willing to see what the performance was going to be like and even stick around longer if we wanted to. It was cool to see Jared Leto in the flesh and I definitely made the joke of “Do a scene from Dallas Buyers Club” several times. However, their music was kind of lame, was basically just saying “woah” a ton, and we had no desire to stand there any longer. Jared did a lot of talking and in the twenty minutes that it took to walk back to our car, he was still talking. We were both so not mad about dipping out early!

Kristen and I were exhausted the following day but that is a small price to pay for a sister’s night on the town. I loved every minute of our time together with my best friend!

What was the last concert you saw? Who would you like to see live? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Lil Red’s Book Club: Nailbiter Vol. 3 “Blood In The Water” By Joshua Williamson Edition

Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new edition of Lil Red’s Book Club! In a spoiler free setting, as always, we are going to discuss the third volume in the Nailbiter graphic novel series called Blood In The Water. After finishing Volume One and Two in one sitting each, I couldn’t wait to pick up volumes three through eight at JC Comics. I had no chill on Volume Three either because I completed it in one go too! The story is so gripping and the artwork is so fantastic that I literally couldn’t stop and I am looking forward to cracking open the fourth one. Before we begin our chat, I will be placing a big fat trigger warning for gore, strong violence, and disturbing content. Now, let’s get to it:

image_50442497(13)

Blood In The Water begins where Volume Two ends – we are nowhere closer to solving the mystery of the Buckaroo Butchers, a masked killer is wreaking havoc, and Finch is preparing to interrogate Edward “Nailbiter” Warren for much needed answers. As a disgraced NSA agent, Finch has very… nontraditional ways of getting people to talk. After a grueling back and forth, Warren is finally ready to spill and they head to Sheriff Crane’s house to debrief and plan their next moves.

In the process of Finch questioning Warren and Crane trying to enjoy her one day off, trouble of a non serial killer related kind is brewing. If you recall from Volume Two, our Reverend Fairgold has a lot more than preaching on his mind. His beloved son was murdered and he wants someone, anyone to pay. Knowing that the cops are essentially going about this case blind, he encourages a group of vigilantes to take justice into their own hands with he as their fearless leader. If you also recall from Volume Two, Warren and Crane were high school sweethearts. How convenient that Finch, Warren, and the vigilantes end up on Crane’s doorstep at the exact same time.

Crane, Finch, and Warren make a quick getaway and go to the place where all of Buckaroo’s secrets are buried: The serial killer graveyard. Under the graveyard is a series of tunnels and jail cells and Warren knows them like the back of his hand. As they explore for answers, they stumble upon the lair of the newest killer – and the masked man himself yielding gigantic blades in each hand. With a gravely injured member of their party in tow, Warren insists on playing the hero and tries to fight off the killer… and his partner? As one person clings to life, someone with answers is finally awake. What can Eliot Carroll tell us in Volume Four? I can’t wait to find out!

WOW did Volume Three pack a punch. I actually think this might be my favorite one in the series yet. We gained a lot more intel and can really begin to see how the loose ends of the story will eventually tie together. Not only did we learn more information for the present mystery, but we also got to time travel to the past. Blood In The Water deep dived into Warren and Crane’s high school romance and its downfall. And, to add a cherry on top, we finally found out why Sheriff Crane is protective over Alice, Buckaroo’s resident weird teen. It was exactly what I wanted!

Blood In The Water was so excellent because of the previous two volumes. One and Two truly set the stage for the craziness that occurred on each page. Plots and details that other readers deemed “pointless” from the past two volumes became indispensable and goes to show that patience is a virtue in graphic novels. Like any good book, all can’t be revealed right off the jump. Volume Three was a testament to this and should serve as a healthy reminder to skeptics that the author, Joshua Williamson, will never stray us far from the path unless he has a good reason.

I am going to rate Blood In The Water with the coveted ten out of ten stars. Everything I wanted to know thus far in the series was answered and it doesn’t get better than that. I have a strong feeling that this is the turning point in Nailbiter when things get really good and I am so happy to have the full collection so I can binge read away!

What are you currently reading? What should I read next? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

New Strawberries & Cream Nails

Hello! This past Tuesday I enjoyed a much needed nail appointment at Elysian Nails during my break from work. It had been a fat minute since I got my nails done because I came down with the plague and wasn’t trying to bring that nastiness into one of my favorite houses of worship. Thankfully, I was feeling much better and my time with my go to nail tech couldn’t have come quickly enough. I had two nails that were lifting and must have super glued my fingers together at least three times trying to rectify the situation smh. That is no longer an issue I will have to worry about because my talons are fixed up and better than ever! Check it out:

Whenever my adorable mom gets her nails done or paints them at home, she can always count on me to tell her that whatever shade of beige or pale pink she’s using is boring lol. It is said from a place of daughterly love and has been a running joke between us for years. I guess my my mom’s preferences were rubbing off on me because I couldn’t get beige off of my brain while driving to the salon. I am a huge fan of the recent trend of pairing a nude shade with a bright color pop and decided to step into my Jane Era. I found the most gorgeous sepia hued polish among my selections, but I went with a soft pink rather than a neon. It made for a lovely strawberries and cream combo that looked so delicate and pretty!

Once my nail polish was chosen, I was able to go right to my tech’s station and the process ran like a fine tuned machine. While I love to take my time at the salon, my break time visits are very convenient for me and my tech knows that I need to head back to work at a certain time so I’m not late for my next shift. She is so accommodating of my time crunch appointment and never sacrifices the details while speedily shaping, buffing, and filing away. I have never once been late for my following shift and have always left with nails that looked and felt like a million bucks. It is the perfect way to spend a break and it feels so good to return to my long day with a renewed pep in my step.

These strawberries and cream nails are everything and a sweet homage to my darling mom’s favorite colors. I am living for my Jane Era!

What color of nail polish are you currently rocking? Which colors do you tend to avoid in clothing, nail polish, or makeup? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

So 70s OOTD

Hello darlings and welcome to a brand new OOTD here on lifewithlilred! After falling off of the OOTD wagon for a bit, I am back in full swing. Johnny and I have had lots of plans for the past several weekends and because he is the best blog husband, he is always willing to take my pictures as we go about the day. This past Saturday, we hit up the Jenks Building so we could shop for new to us records. Then, we visited Johnny’s parents and aunt for his dad’s birthday. A lovely outfit was needed for such a lovely day and I rocked the following:

image_50473217(7)image_50733825(3)image_50439937(10)image_50459393(3)image_50455553(7)

Sweater Dress: Heartloom, TJMaxx

Wedge Heel Mules: B.A.I.T., ModCloth

Butterfly Sunglasses: A Signature Antiques

The giraffe cuff is from Target and I’m pretty sure the daisy earrings are from Claire’s?

In July I went on a shopping trip to TJMaxx to spend birthday gift cards that were burning a hole in my pocket. The change of seasons is my favorite time to go to TJ’s because it’s when they bring out all of the… more unique clothing that didn’t sell. By a stroke of good fortune, I ended up with two pieces that were the only ones available in the store. A gorgeous chartreuse top and the sweet as can be sweater dress in this OOTD. My original plan was to save the dress for the next Misnyland Picnic I will be working in September. Obviously, I couldn’t wait because 1) I love it lol and 2) It was partially for practicality’s sake because picnic days are always insanely busy.

This Heartloom sweater dress is straight out of the 70s and oh so much fun. In fact, Johnny told me several times throughout the day that it was like something The Supremes would wear! The colors, pattern, and adorable big buttons work together to make a throwback piece that is truly special. I have never seen anything like it in stores before and I highly doubt I will any time soon. I felt like an absolute star in it and although not a lot of think work went into styling this OOTD, I still had a blast doing so.

Since all I had to do was slip on a dress, it was time for shoes and accessories. For shoes, I went with a fabulous little pair of wedge heel mules by B.A.I.T.. The marigold yellow worked perfectly with the colors in the dress and can we talk about that daisy print?! Yes, it kind of looks like an egg but I’m still going with daisies lol. Accessories were next and I kept with the yellow motif with a giraffe cuff bracelet that I got forever ago from Target. Then, I tied the look together from head to toe with a pair of stud daisy earrings and was ready for my close up!

I am so happy that I broke out my So 70s OOTD in advance and it turned out exactly how I pictured it in my head. I can’t wait to wear it again!

What is your favorite era of fashion? Which celebrity’s style do you admire? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Cute Jumpsuit OOTD

Cute Jumpsuit OOTD

Hello!! Johnny and I went on some fantastic outings this past weekend and we had the best time. Whenever we can go on a date together is a special occasion and I always want to look the part for it. Amazing company and a great outfit can turn the most ordinary date like a dinner out into something extraordinary. Johnny and I really do revel in a night out and just like me, he dresses to impress too! For date night, I put together a little look with an adorable jumpsuit. Oddly enough, Johnny had a dream the night before that we went on a date to a concert and I wore a jumpsuit. We are so in sync, even in our dreams! Check it out:

image_50738433(12)image_50744321(6)image_50748673(5)image_50728961(5)image_50725377(3)image_50766849image_50450177(9)image_50744321(7)image_50751489(5)

Jumpsuit: Japna, TJMaxx

Floral Platforms: Qupid, TJMaxx

Butterfly Sunglasses: A Signature Antiques

Pink Snake Cuff Bracelet: Betsey Johnson

Blue Snake Cuff Bracelet: I got this at the zoo forever ago lol

The large gold cuff is from Aerie and the stud earrings are from PacSun – both purchased when I was in high school!!

One style of clothing that I absolutely love is the jumpsuit. They are such a simple piece but so effective in creating a stand out outfit. The only problem with jumpsuits are that they are definitely made with people over five foot one in mind! I cannot tell you the amount of jumpsuits I have tried on at TJMaxx that were perfect – minus the fact that about one foot in leg length would have to be removed. It was certainly a stroke of good luck when I found the Japna jumpsuit seen above that I could just make work with an uber tall pair of platforms!

For mine and Johnny’s date night, we were going to do dinner and a movie. I’m not sure why I instantly thought of my jumpsuit (Maybe it was from Johnny’s dream!), but I thought it would be a comfortable option for reclining in a movie theater after a meal. We didn’t end up going to the movie after the fact of the outfit being styled and I stuck with it anyways. The canvas hued linen screams summer and I can’t get enough of the stitch details and bustier button up top. It is truly a summer staple and exactly what I needed for a balmy evening on the town.

Since the top and bottom of this OOTD were accounted for, it was time for shoes and accessories. For shoes, I went with a pair of pink floral print platforms by Qupid. These were a must for the added height and gave a sweet peek-a-boo pop of pink with every step. For accessories, I chose a pair of stud earrings because I didn’t want a dangly pair to overshadow the length of my neck. When you are a petite gal, you always have to think about accentuating your length – especially when you’re in something with a lot of fabric like a jumpsuit. Rather than necklaces or earrings, I accessorized with some funky cuff bracelets and was ready for a date night with my main squeeze!

This Cute Jumpsuit OOTD was a cinch to style and a joy to wear. I was literally in the outfit of Johnny’s dreams and it had him doing a quadruple take. I’ll take it!

What is your favorite summer wardrobe staple? What is your perfect date night outfit? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

JC Comics Haul Pt. 2

JC Comics Haul Pt. 2

Hello! During a visit a few weeks ago to the best comic shop in my neck of the woods, JC’s, I was introduced to a horror series called Nailbiter. It is about solving the mystery of why a small town has a double digit amount of serial killers. The owner of the store convinced me to give it a go with the promise that I would love it. So, I went ahead and purchased Volume One and Two. He was so right because I devoured both volumes and couldn’t wait to return to the store to get volumes three through eight that were special ordered for me. I picked them up this past weekend and cannot wait to sink my teeth into them! Check it out:

image_50424577(5)

I consider myself to be a pretty frugal person. Other than the every few months or so trip to TJMaxx and a meal or two out with Johnny in a month, I really don’t spend much on anything but necessities. This massive haul of the completed set of Nailbiter was a major treat yoself purchase for me and it was a thrill because I don’t do something like this very often. I was SO excited to have the entire collection and I was able to justify buying it all in one fell swoop. I’d much rather have the next volumes in the series readily available as opposed to going back to JC’s every time I need a new one. I have a feeling I’ll be back at the store soon enough once I’m done with the series! 😀

Back in my theater days, I used to love going to bookstores and buying new plays to read. It felt like I was spoiling myself and I remember rushing home to crack open my new purchases. This haul brought me back to that wonderful sense of anticipation when you just know you are about to read something good. These past few months have been trying times for yours truly between the stress of work and life in general and getting back into graphic novels has really given me something to look forward to. I considered my Nailbiter haul as a reward to myself for completing three successful months as Tim Misny’s social media manager and all of the hard work I’ve put in to make this job possible. Nothing says “celebrate” to me like a bagful of books… or new clothes… or shoes. 🙂

Johnny and I are definitely in our treat yoself era. Graphic novels for me and records for him. It is a joy to be able to invest in our hobbies and our time off of work is infinitely more pleasurable because of it!

How do you treat yourself? What is your favorite thing to shop for? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Date Night!

Date Night!

Hello!! Last week was an exhausting one. I spent the entire weekend in bed after coming down with a nasty bug and it made for a work week that seemed never ending as I recovered. By the time this weekend rolled around, I was feeling much better and was ready for some fun. Literally the only thing that kept me going during the week was the reminder that Johnny and I had a Date Night planned for Friday. We were going to do a Middle Class Fancy night on the town of dinner and a movie. Although it didn’t go exactly accordingly to plan, it was still a fabulous outing and just what I needed to shake away the remaining blahs of being sick!

image_50436097(13)image_50728961(4)image_50460161(9)image_50735105(4)image_6487327(57)

For our date night, we decided that Outback Steakhouse was the move, then we were going to see Long Legs in theaters. Yes, it does seem weird for a vegetarian to revel in going to a steakhouse lol. What can I say, I love their side dishes and the staff is always most accommodating on letting me know what is truly vegetarian friendly on the menu. While Johnny opted for a steak meal, of course, I went with a salad, mac n’ cheese, mashed potatoes, and a baked potato too. So, basically, just all potatoes and it was divine! We also sipped on tasty cocktails – a margarita for me and the shark themed cocktail seen above for Johnny. It was, admittedly, not that good but we did get a shark souvenir from it which we deemed as the most important thing. 😀

After our dinner, we wanted to go see Long Legs because we are huge horror fans and we haven’t been to a movie in a long time. By a long time, I mean in over a year when we went to see Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny on a Middle Class Fancy date last summer! Unfortunately, it didn’t work out because the movie was playing at the most inconvenient times at every theater we live by. We went to dinner too late for a 5:30 show and we were too tired to kill time until an 8:10 viewing. We are hoping to go see it this upcoming weekend and still had a blast after our dinner date. Once we were home we listened to records, relaxed, and chatted away until an early bedtime to take on the rest of the weekend well rested.

On Saturday we returned to our favorite local spot, the Jenks Building, to check out the new records they got in. Then, we had a lovely visit with Johnny’s family for my father-in-law’s birthday. It was a busy weekend, but a wonderful one. Stay tuned for OOTDs from these outings coming soon!

What was the last movie you saw in theaters? What would you do on a perfect date night? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Fun Date Day Ideas

Fun Date Day Ideas

Hello!! One of my favorite things in the world is to go on Date Days with Johnny. I think dating your partner is so important no matter how long you’ve been together. Johnny and I have been an item for almost five years and I still get those first date vibes whenever we step out on the town. At least a few times per month, we make it a point to go on a date with each other. It could be for a drink at our favorite bar, going to see a show, or just walking through the outdoor shopping center in Cuyahoga Falls. Whatever we do, it is always the best because we’re together having fun and enjoying each other’s company. Want to pencil in a date day with your significant other? Here are some ideas:

Antiquing/Thrifting:

When Johnny and I first started dating, we would often hit up the thrift store. This was especially entertaining because Johnny was playing in a band at that time and we would try and find the most flashy pieces for him to wear on stage. We also went antiquing on a recent date day and it was a hoot. The beauty of thrift and antique stores is that you literally have no idea what you are going to find. It could be something hilarious or something you didn’t know you needed until now. And, as a bonus, whatever you purchase can serve as a wonderful memento of your time together.

Picnic In The Park:

In Ohio, you have to take advantage of the nice weather because you never know when it’s going to completely change on you lol. One delightful way that we enjoy a beautiful day is a picnic and walk in the park. We will grab some to go sandwiches from Subway or Mr. Zub’s, post up at a park bench, then walk off our meal! Date days can be as lavish or laid back as you want and an outing at the park won’t break your bank but will still be incredibly sweet. It’s always nice to get active with your SO and maybe you will end up making a weekly hike part of your schedule!

New Experiences:

Going on dates is all about trying new things. Be adventurous! Check out that museum you’ve been dying to go to, sign up for a cooking class, take some ballroom dancing lessons. Turn your “I wishes” into “I wills” and see where the day takes you. Perhaps you could each write some ideas down for new locations, eateries, and activities and draw from a hat each date day. There’s a chance that you won’t like whatever was chosen and that’s okay. The most important thing is that you shared a new experience together and that creates lasting memories.

Road Trip:

Maybe you’re bored with the same old, same old in your neck of the woods. So go for a drive! Choose a maximum amount of time you would like to travel for and make stops along the way. Visit quaint diners, quirky shops, and scenic areas for lots of pictures. It’s amazing the places you can find when you venture away from your own backyard. Create a playlist for your drive, get ALL of the snacks from the gas station, and see where you end up. You might just stumble upon your new favorite place.

A Day In:

Sometimes, going out is just as fun as staying in! I absolutely love the nights when Johnny and I play board and video games, listen to music, and chat the evening away. Cook a meal together, indulge in some self care, do a craft, and just chill. You will surely find that this time with no other distractions than each other is even better than dining at a five star restaurant. If you are turning your day into something special, it will be no matter what you do!

Johnny and I had a lovely Date Day this past weekend and I can’t wait to tell you all about it. Stay tuned!!

What was the best date you have ever been on? How about the worst? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Bath & Body Works Haul

Bath & Body Works Haul

Hello!! A week or so ago I got some coupons from Bath & Body Works in the mail for a free wallflower and twenty percent off your purchase. This was perfect timing because I was in need of more of my foaming hand soap as it was pretty slim pickings during the semi annual sale in June. During a quick break at work, I was able to stop in and restock my soap, grab a freebie wallflower, and some new hand sanitizer too. The fragrance I got for hand sani during the semi annual sale reeked lol! Let’s take a look and discuss these scents further:

image_50734081(8)image_50442241(12)

Bath & Body Works was jam packed with fall and Halloween fragrances and I was living for it! If you haven’t peeped their Halloween collection, make sure you check it out because everything is fabulous. Rather than stick to one scent category, I got a little bit of everything and contained myself from buying literally every single spooky related product. It was much easier said than done! Here are my thoughts on the above…

Chew Make Me Happy: In case you couldn’t guess, this hand soap smells exactly like bubblegum! Johnny and I watch our nieces fairly often and they are always excited to see what smell goods I have when they visit. I knew they would go gaga over the bubblegum scent so this was definitely for them. I probably wouldn’t have bought this one if it weren’t for the kiddos, but they’ll love it so it’s good enough for me!

Candy Apple Cauldron: Apple is my absolute favorite scent so I was really excited to see that one of the new Halloween fragrances was Candy Apple Cauldron. It offers notes of “mysterious green apple, simmering sugar, and crystalized bergamot”. I can’t speak for if the green apple smells mysterious or not lol, but it smells identical to a green apple Jolly Rancher. I would happily use it all year.

Afternoon Apple Picking: All of the apple!!! Whenever fall rolls around, I have to get my Afternoon Apple Picking fix. It is truly the perfect fall scent and captures the essence of a crisp fall day at the apple orchard. This fragrance features notes of “crisp apple, succulent pear, and cinnamon”. Normally, I am not a cinnamon fan at all. However, it blends beautifully altogether and I think it smells like a steaming cup of hot apple cider.

Vampire Blood: Whenever spooky season is nigh, I always have to purchase my favorite scent of Vampire Blood. B&BW brings Vampire Blood back every year and I am so glad they do. It is a deep berry fragrance with notes of “red berries, blooming jasmine, and petrifying plum”. If you are a fan of berry scents, this is a must buy. The packaging for it is also so cute this year!

Sweet As Sugar: Holy moly – Sweet As Sugar smells good enough to eat!! The fragrance notes are equally as mouthwatering and feature “crumbled crust, gooey brown sugar, and sprinkled cinnamon”. I think it smells like caramel hot chocolate and it is divine. I would absolutely buy it again.

Hand Sanitizers: I selected Champagne Apple & Honey (Shocker!) and Cozy Vanilla Almond for my hand sanitizers. Both of these scents are completely straight forward. If you like apples or vanilla, you will like these fragrances without a doubt.

Wallflower: For my free wallflower, I went with Caramel Pumpkin Swirl. I am not big on pumpkin scents, but that doesn’t really matter because it doesn’t smell like pumpkin at all. This wallflower smells like straight up caramel. It is rich, decadent, and is basically like you’re unwrapping a Werther’s Original. Yum!

I am very pleased with my Bath & Body Works Haul and you can’t beat the price. I got all of these goodies for twenty-five dollars. Total steal!

What is your favorite fall scent? What is your favorite Bath & Body Works fragrance? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
