Shopaholic Styles: All Autumn Everything OOTD

Hello one and all and Happy Monday! In all of the blogging world, there is one special gal who always comes to mind first. And, that is Nida from Shopaholic Blogs. Nida was the very first guest blogger that I ever had on lifewithlilred and she has become a staple on my page every time I host a guest bloggers series. She is funny, fashion forward, and downright fabulous! Not only that, but it’s impossible not to smile while reading her posts and watching her videos.

Nida creates a mean OOTD post and her take on a fall themed look can be seen below:

Shopaholic Styles: All Autumn Everything OOTD

Hola companeros blogueros ❣️

Welcome to a fabulous fall inspiredΒ πŸ‚ post courtesy of my long time blogging BFF Sarah of lifewithlilred πŸ’ž. I love collaborating with Sarah on guest posts, because she gives me so much creative freedom and she is always so appreciative of my work that it pushes me to do better every time.✨ So, for this fall themed post, I decided to put together an autumn OOTD (Which, by sheer coincidence, happens to be my favorite kind of postπŸ’“).

Technically speaking, there really is no fall season here in Dubai since summer β˜€οΈ lasts all the way to November and then we jump straight into a very mild winter. However, just because we don’t get to experience actual fall 🍁 doesn’t mean that we can’t dress up for it!Β πŸ˜‰

My take on fall included a bright, flowy top in a gorgeous yellow color, which I think is reminiscent of the splendor of autumn. I paired it with statement crop pants in a deep forest green πŸƒ and beautiful foliage in all shades of green, yellow, and orange.

Both pieces are from the Loft petites collection, which is my go to store for trendy, affordable clothing. ✨ I finished the look with these charming (Though extremely uncomfortable 😳) sandals by Jessica Simpson.

I hope that you guys enjoyed this fall inspired OOTD! 🍁 Sarah and I look forward to your comments. 😘

Thanks to Sarah for this fun opportunity and until next time loves xoxo❣️

How do you style a fall OOTD? What is your favorite store to snag affordable, on trend clothing at? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

OOTD Time

Hiii everyone! I have to admit, I have really been slacking on taking updated photos of myself for social media and blogging purposes. However, there have been a few days where I’ve really been feeling myself enough to take some standard mirror pics to feature some OOTDs that I love. Take a looksee:

ootdootd1

Look One:

  • Floral Top: Loft
  • Jeans: TJMaxx
  • Platforms: TJMaxx

Look Two:

Look One was a semi business casual outfit for work. Because I am out in the community and not in an office while working, I can get away with making the outfit more casual than business! I love my bright yellow top from Loft, which looks friggen awesome with my hair and skin. I also love how both the top and my Bamboo brand shoes are both channeling an Oriental vibe, which played off of each other in a really cool way. I was a bit ambivalent about pairing yellow and red together, because all I can think about is ketchup and mustard – but I was very happy with this OOTD and after seeing how I looked, I stopped thinking about the Micky D’s color combo instantly! πŸ˜€

On the other hand, Look Two was strictly an outfit for play and it has turned into one of my favorites. I love how the slouchy Harem pants look with the more fitted moto jacket and how my shoes ended up getting tucked under my pants. It created a really interesting silhouette and, even though I was super comfy in this OOTD, I felt totally cool. I rarely dress for comfort, because sometimes it sacrifices the style aspect of a look, but that wasn’t the case at all for this one and I definitely plan on rocking similar outfits in the future.

I live for creating cool outfits, and now I just need to be more dedicated about taking pictures of them! How do you style a business casual OOTD? How about a look for play? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Unsung Wardrobe Heroes: Black Skinny Jeans Edition

Unsung Wardrobe Heroes: Black Skinny Jeans Edition

Hey everyone and happy Monday! I hope that all of you had a wonderful post holiday weekend and are now not overly stuffed from your Thanksgiving meal! I’ll be honest, I totally ate a plate of leftovers at nine in the morning on Black Friday – so not mad about it! Today, in Unsung Wardrobe Heroes, we’re going to be discussing the Lil Red staple that has been a must in my closet for the past four or so years. We’re talkin’ black skinny jeans:

loft4lofty2

Lil Red is a punk rocker at heart, with a love for all things emo screamo, horror, bleak, dark, black, and dismal. So, obviously, black skinny jeans are the way to go for work/play/hanging out. Loft has, hands down, the best jeans that I have ever worn in my life, and almost all of my skinnies are from there. They fit like a dream, it takes a long time for them to fade, and they’re reasonably priced, making them an obvious choice for when I feel the urge to buy a new pair.

So why all black, you might ask? Why not blue or colored jeans? Other than a passion for All Black Everything, the truth is, is that black is slimming. Lol, I’m being so serious. Jeans in any other color but black make me feel like a beached whale. When I’m in my black skinnies, I feel slim and sleek while still giving my ASSets a great shape. I don’t know, I’ve never really cared for blue jeans and when it dawned on me that I don’t like how they make me look, I’ve steered far clear of them for years.

We’ve covered that black skinny jeans are slimming, but have we talked about how they go with everything? BECAUSE THEY GO WITH EVERYTHING!! I have an extensive wardrobe that is filled with interesting shapes, bold patterns and colors, and look at me statement pieces. Ain’t nobody got time for trying to find the perfect bottom to go with something bold on top. Black skinny jeans are a one stop shop and I can literally grab any top and jacket to go with my skinnies collection and be done with it – which is something that I do have time for!

In conclusion, black skinny jeans are the bomb and everyone should have at least one pair in their wardrobe arsenal. Although, one is a number that I scoff at, considering I have about six pairs and they’re all so similar yet SO DIFFERENT! If you don’t have a pair, you have the Lil Red Guarantee that you will love them, so get out there and BUY ONE!

So there you have it, the latest issue of Unsung Wardrobe Heroes: Black Skinny Jeans Edition! Where is your go to destination for jean shopping? What is your preferred jean color? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Unsung Wardrobe Heroes

Helloooo everyone and welcome to a new segment here on lifewithlilred. Unsung Wardrobe Heroes is all about celebrating the staples that make up your closet that might not get enough credit. I know between my shoe hoard, love for bold jackets, and loud statement pieces, that my day to day clothing items (Especially for work!) seem to go unnoticed. Today, we’re going to talk about one of my literal favorite work shirts that also doubles as an amazing top for play. Take a look and let’s discuss:

shirtloftloft2loft1

I really, really freaking like this shirt from Loft. I remember seeing it close to a year ago and thinking that I had to have it – and getting it for about fifteen dollars definitely didn’t hurt the cause, either! White is a color that I’m timidly trying to add more and more of into my wardrobe, and this was the shirt that started that movement. I love how the stark white pops against my skin and hair. Then, the bold, black paper fan pattern adds the touch of edge and fun that I have to have in everything that I buy.

This shirt is ideal as a top for work, and I love that it is so much more than a basic white button down thanks to the contrasting colors in such a charming pattern. But, as you can see from the first picture, this top is perfect for play, as well! This past summer, I preferred to wear this top tucked into shorts, along with a Panama hat and platform heels for a sassy ensemble to wear to my favorite outdoor shopping centers.

The best thing about this Loft top, though? It’s how easy it is to take this shirt from work to play in a few simple steps. I never change into a different outfit after work, but if I am going out afterwards, this top can turn into a nighttime look with a quick change of shoes, jacket, and accessories – talk about an Unsung Wardrobe Hero!

So there you have it, the newest lifewithlilred segment, Unsung Wardrobe Heroes! What are some favorites in your closet that doesn’t get enough credit? How would you style my Loft top? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Forest Green Fabulous OOTD

Hellooo everyone and welcome to the final post in my Falling For Fall guest bloggers series, brought to you by Nida of Shopaholic Blogs. I am so excited to welcome Nida back into the blogging world after a brief hiatus here on my page because she is just my absolute favorite! I missed her terribly in the blogosphere and I know that all of you did, too, so let’s take a look at the gorgeous fall OOTD that she created for us all the way from the UAE:

Forest Green Fabulous OOTD

Hello Bloggers! πŸ’•

Welcome to a fabulous fall guest bloggers series courtesy of who else but my blogging BFF, Sarah, the lovely lady with a love for all things red️! (I LOVE YOU! -Sarah)

I have been totally absent from blogging for quite a while now owing to a multitude of reasons, which I will address in detail in a post coming soon. Till then, let’s focus on today’s blog post which is about all things fall, which sadly doesn’t apply here in UAE because we have an abundance of summer ️year round. β˜€ So when Sarah asked me to be a part of her fall guest bloggers series, I was left scratching my head because temperatures here were at boiling point!🌑
Nevertheless, I am not one to let down a friend, so I picked a day when the heat was not as deadly as usual and tried my hand at creating a Fall Look in the desert for you guys.🌡 I worked really hard to fake a breezy fall look, so I hope that all of you enjoy it! Much love to Sarah, as always! πŸ’•
Here’s presenting a how to fake fall in the summer️ without melting OOTD: πŸ˜‚

Outfit Details:

🍁 Dress: Loft petites – I adore this Grecian style dress. The pleating at the waist is so figure flattering and the color is spot on for fall.
🍁 Scarf: Zeen – This is a Pakistani brand that does gorgeous scarves at a budget friendly price. I love the color combo on this scarf and it doesn’t hurt that it matches my lippie perfectly! 😘
🍁 Shoes: Charles & Keith – I love the pompom detailing on these sandals, which are right on trend for summer and fall.
🍁 Accessories: Pottery Barn – I know the pumpkins were a little cheesy, but hey! A little improvisation just adds to the look don’t you think? πŸŽƒ
🍁 Don’t forget to show me and Sarah some love️ by liking this post and commenting down below! 😘
Okay, so all of Nida’s pictures are always beautiful but how freaking cute is that last pic with the pumpkin?! Just dying!! Thank you so much again to my Shopaholic Blogs babe for concluding my Falling For Fall guest bloggers series with a bang! Tune in tomorrow as I wrap things up and show some love to all of my amazing guest bloggers who helped make this fall celebration so special.
Does your location have all four seasons? How do you style a warmer weather fall look? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Loft Haul

Loft Haul

Hiii everyone and happy Monday! I hope that all of you had a fabulous and relaxing weekend. My Saturday was spent getting my shop on at Loft and scoring an amazing haul for a seriously amazing deal. If there’s one place that I know that I can turn to for totally profesh but super fun business casual attire, it’s Loft. And let me tell you, my work wardrobe was in definite need of a pick me up. The beauty of the clothing at Loft is that their clothes can really be dressed up or down depending on what you need to use them for. I love that my Loft clothes can double for work or play and that you can get great deals if you know how to shop their sales. Check out my latest haul and then I’ll reveal the price for all five items that you won’t believe! Take a look:

loftylofty1lofty2lofty4lofty3

The Haul:

  • Two shirts both originally priced at $54.95
  • One pair of jeans originally priced at $69.95
  • Two pairs of sunglasses originally priced at $24.50

I Paid: About $80

So how did I do it? This is all compliments of my mom, actually. Thanks to beaucoup Loft Cash, percentage off promotions, and fifteen dolla holla sunglasses, she was able to dwindle down a staggering price to something much more reasonable. My mom started shopping Loft a couple of years ago and I have always been so impressed with the clothes that she has purchased. Like I mentioned earlier, they really are the perfect work or play wardrobe staples. The clothes fall in that amazing “youthful but not trying to be young” category, which means that women of any age can pull off their clothing and still look great.

It’s not like I’m a super avid Loft shopper but when I do spend time in their store, I always seem to manage to find some really nice stuff. Their jeans, for example, are the best thing that has ever happened to the bottom half of my body so whenever I can get a good deal on their black skinnies, I always have to indulge. The frayed ends of my latest black skinny purchase (because we all know that it’s all I wear!) were a fun little detail and I’m hoping to take a razor blade to the knees if I’m feeling crafty enough. I don’t own any ripped denim but I really like the idea of it, so if anyone is a savvy pants ripper and has any tips for me, please send them my way!

And, of course, I freaking LOVE my new tops. In the pictures, they might look like your standard T, but they are actually made out of one hundred percent polyester so it feels silky and looks sleek as opposed to the regular old cotton T. These tops have an adorable eyelet detail on the back and the colors in each of them are my favorite. Green and yellow are two colors that happen to look really good on me, thanks to my pasty pale skin tone and vibrant red hair. As soon as I put these tops on, they just felt and looked SO good and if they had any additional shirts in different patterns I probably would have bought them, too!

Both of these tops will be great for when I’m out and about at work or paired under a moto jacket for errands or drinks with friends. I love the kimono feel of the yellow top and the deep green paired with the brighter teal details really had me feeling some type of way! It’s going to be really fun to create new looks for my day to day work and play wear for an outfit that’s business cashe or a young twenty-something on the go (generally going to Taco Bell).

Finally, I am obsessed with my new sunnies! I haven’t bought new sunglasses in forever because now I usually just opt for my Chanel shades from my nail tech, Vinny. But these new ones are SO fabulous and I got each of them for seven bucks, so it really doesn’t get much better than that! The solid black frames scream Miu Miu to me and the duel colored tortoise shell and navy sunnies are so unbearably chic. Both of these sunglasses are shaped in styles that I don’t already have in my sunnies arsenal so it will be nice to throw on a fresh new pair of shades before I hit the road in the Little Red Love Machine!

Obviously, Loft was really good to me this weekend and my closet so thanks me for it! I am super happy with my latest Loft Haul and am ready to welcome spring with some shiny new wardrobe additions. Who else is a major Loft fan? How are you upgrading your wardrobe for spring? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Loft Unicorn Sweater

Loft Unicorn Sweater

Heyyy everyone and happy Thursday! I feel like such a dummy because I forgot one of my absolute favorite presents that I received from my mom in the Best Of My Holiday Haul. My mom and I love shopping at Loft and in early December, the most darling sweater was featured in their holiday ads that we were thumbing through. It was a deep navy blue and had an outline of a unicorn stitched in the middle with baby blue thread. I expressed my love for it to my beloved mother and the sneaky devil must have ordered it shortly after! Take a look:

loft5.jpeg

So. Cute!

One thing that I really love are fun and unique sweaters. It is so easy to get lost in the blah of constant cable knit that one might simply forget that there is so much more in the world of sweaters. As one of my favorite 60 degrees and below weather staples, I am always on the lookout for new sweaters to add to my collection. I love fun colors, patterns, and pictures and I think that this unicorn stitched sweater is just perfect! Thank you so much for such an amazing gift, mom. I LOVE YOU!! ❀

Loft has more adorable animal sweaters in store and online but bear in mind that they run very large. The sweater pictured above is an extra small so it might be wise to size down so you’re not swimming in it!

My new Loft Unicorn Sweater is one of my favorites and I have already worn it twice since receiving it on Christmas! Who went to an ugly sweater party this year? What is one of your favorite sweaters in your wardrobe? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Post Christmas Shopping

Post Christmas Shopping

Hi everyone and happy hump day! I hope all of you are having a fabulous week so far. The day after Christmas, my mom and I ventured to the mall to make some returns and do a little shopping. It was actually not as crazy as I expected it to be and thanks to some gift cards and holiday cash, I was able to add two fun new things to my wardrobe. Take a look and let’s discuss:

f21loft4

The Haul:

  • Forever 21 cropped rainbow sweater
  • Loft velvet skinny jeans

F21 Sweater: I lucked out this Christmas and ended up getting some gift cards to Forever 21 which is easily one of my favorite stores. I think that this sweater is the cutest and it was only twenty dollars which, in my opinion, was a steal. My mom and I went shopping at just the right time because I snagged the only small that was left among a bunch of larges! GREAT SUCCESS. I am actually wearing my new sweater along with my velvet skinnies from Loft at this very moment and it looks adorable! Pictures will definitely be up some time this week so stay tuned! πŸ™‚

Loft Jeans: First of all, Loft literally has the best skinny jeans that I have ever worn, so I was so happy to score another pair that was marked all the way down to twenty-seven bucks from seventy! Second of all, I have had a love/hate relationship with the velvet trend that has been so popular as of late. I love some of the velveteen pieces that I’ve seen but I hate that none of them speak to me on a personal level! But, black velvet skinnies are definitely something that I can do since you guys all know that black skinnies are all I wear. Not only is the fit of the Loft skinny jeans superb but the velvet adds a fun new texture to every outfit and I am loving them with my Forever 21 rainbow sweater! ❀

After a tiny post Christmas shopping haul, it’s now time to save my money and store away my Forever 21 gift cards until spring to add to my warm weather wardrobe. However, this is going to be SO HARD considering my email inbox is legitimately overflowing with sale notifications from all of my favorite stores! GET BEHIND ME, SATAN!!

So there you have it, my Post Christmas Shopping! Has anyone scored some amazing after holiday deals? Where is the best place to get the best price after the holiday season? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Monday Update: Business Casual Edition

Monday Update: Business Casual Edition

Hello everyone and welcome to this week’s Monday Update here on lifewithlilred! As my graduation from Tri-C is approaching at the end of the fall semester, I’ve been doing my best to gradually add some Business Casual attire into my wardrobe. I lucked out and was able to find the most adorable button down top from Loft while I was out shopping with my mom and I got it for a STEAL. I scored this originally fifty dollar shirt for eleven bucks! Take a look:

^^^ So cute!

Loft is a store that I would never go out of my way to go in to. I have a few really nice pieces from there but other than that, I’d rather be in Forever 21! However, my mom loves to shop at Loft and she had hella coupons on top of a forty percent off sale that they were having so she wanted to spend some time in there to see if she could find some deals. I like trying to find clothes for my beloved mother so I went in, too, so we could browse the store together.

For the most part, nothing was particularly screaming out at me. I’m only twenty-two and a lot of the clothes there definitely looked like it was for women older than me. But as I was perusing around the store to look for clothes for my mom, I came across my new button down top. I liked that it was short sleeved and I thought the pattern was just darling. I wasn’t anticipating on liking it enough to buy it but I figured that it wouldn’t hurt to try it on and see.

Obviously, I ended up liking it a lot considering I’m writing about it! When I first had it on, I didn’t know what to think. It was the most grown up thing that I’ve ever tried on before but I kind of liked that. The top also looked awesome with what I already had on – a black Brandy Melville maxi skirt and army green Guess wedges. The more I studied myself in the mirror, the more I liked what I was seeing.

I think the fact that the shirt looked so professional and put together was a plus. But I was more drawn to the fact that I could wear it for work and play. I imagined all of the different ways that I could wear it while out and about – tucked into a pair of shorts, paired with black skinnies and a cardigan, or exactly how I was wearing it in the fitting room. This top had endless possibilities outside of wearing it to school, work, and my internship and that’s what made it so fun.

After weighing out all of the amazing pros that this top had to offer, I could find no cons and knew that it had to be mine. I was really happy that I wound up finding a new addition to my attempt at a more grown up wardrobe and I was even more thrilled that I got it for such a great price! Nothing beats paying eleven dollars for an originally fifty dollar brand new to the store top!

So there you have it, this week’s Monday Update: Business Casual Edition! How do you sport a business cashe look? What stores do you shop at to achieve it? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Girls Night Out OOTD

Hi everyone and happy Sunday! Welcome to another guest blogging post here on lifewithlilred, compliments of Nida, from Shopaholic Blogs. I am so lucky to have Miss Nida writing a post special for lifewithlilred every Sunday for the month of March! Her blog is fantastic so make sure you check it out and give it some love. This week, I asked Nida if she could create an OOTD perfect for a Girls Night Out and as usual, she did a fabulous job! You can see all of Nida’s OOTDs if you click on the Fashion category on my page but for now, take a look at all of the model status pics of Nida showcasing her outfit. Then, be sure to stick around to hear what she has to say about all of the pieces in her look:

Hello loves! πŸ’–
This week’s OOTD collab with the fabulous Sarah is all about hanging out with the girls! 😍 I love girls night out! It’s a time for us to get dressed up, relax, and have a great time together. For me feeling comfortable = feeling confident. ✨ All of the looks that I put together are 100% something I would wear. So without further ado here’s to a great night out with the girls! πŸŽ‰
✨ Top: Loft – Black is the color I reach for time and time again. With the right accessories it transitions seamlessly from day to night.
✨ Pants: Old Navy – From spring to summer these crop pants are comfortable and stylish. And unlike skinnies they won’t cut off your circulation half way through dinner! πŸ˜‹
✨ Kimono: Garage – This flowy, gorgeous piece is right on trend with its beautiful print and fringe detail.
✨ Shoes: Nine West – I’m not a heels person at all but a special night out with the girls is not complete without blingy, sky high footwear! πŸ’–
✨ Jewelry: Forever 21 – F21 allows me to stay on trend with the latest pieces at prices that won’t break the bank. πŸ’Έ
✨ Bag: Mango – I usually don’t buy small bags since most of the time I’m lugging a truck load of stuff. But I love the detail on this bag and it doubles as a clutch! 😍
✨ Makeup – I’m clueless when it comes to makeup and I consider it a major victory if I can get the liner on both eyes to match. For this look I literally had ten minutes so I had to keep things short and sweet! ⏰

Makeup Used:
πŸ’« Moogoo tinted face cream in Beige
πŸ’« IT Cosmetics concealer in Neutral Medium
πŸ’« Bare Minerals blush in Rose Radiance
πŸ’« IT Cosmetics lipstick in Damsel
πŸ’« Bobbi Brown gel liner in Caviar
πŸ’« Coastal Scents ultra shimmer palette
πŸ’« IT Cosmetics Celebration Foundation in Medium Beige
πŸ’« IT Cosmetics Hello Lashes mascara
πŸ’« Fashion Files nail polish in Cotton Candy

There you have it, ladies, an OOTD for a night out with the girls! Show us some love and let us know what you think about this look! Sarah and I would love to hear your comments! Many thanks to Sarah once again! πŸ’ž
Until next time xoxo! πŸ’‹
