Graduation Countdown!!

Standard
Graduation Countdown!!

Hey everyone and TGIF! According to my handy dandy calendar, I only have TWENTY-SEVEN DAYS LEFT until I graduate. But who’s counting? The answer is ME. I have been literally staring down the clock every day just wishing for time to go by faster so I can tick another day off in my mental countdown. Unfortunately for this Lil Red, time seems to be dragging on for forever during this home stretch period.

I guess this is a good and a bad thing, though. With Christmas just around the corner, it is important for me to incorporate some online or real life holiday shopping into my homework and work schedule. When time really seems to be lagging, I just hop on the computer and check out the latest additions to my normal website stomping grounds. That doesn’t always mean that I’m shopping for other people, though! A combination of boredom and stir craziness always brings me back to sites like ModCloth and TJMaxx so that I can ogle at all things pretty!

I’m glad that this vortex of a twenty-seven day eternity is giving me some time to get my holiday shopping taken care of but, my goodness, I cannot wait for it to be over! Asides from the obvious of the excitement of walking across the stage in the ceremony, I am very excited for my graduation party! My family rarely has get togethers so I am thrilled to be able to host a celebration at my home for little old me!

The afternoon portion of my grad party will take place at Chez Red and will include my family, some former teachers, and my students and their parents from the Special Olympics. Then, in the evening I will be meeting up with my friends at my favorite bar, the Cashmere Cricket! It is going to be such fun, I can’t even handle it. The last get together that I had was for my twenty-second birthday this past summer but prior to that I have literally had nothing so an entire day dedicated to me, me, me is just what I need! (And, don’t tell anyone but I can’t even remember my birthday party so consider my evening out a redo!)

The Graduation Countdown is freaking ON and until it strikes zero, your girl will be freaking out! I hope everyone is having a super fab week and enjoys their weekend. Who has finished their holiday shopping already? What is on your holiday wish list? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Coping With Christmas: Ways To Live Up To The Ideals You Have In Mind

Coping With Christmas: Ways To Live Up To The Ideals You Have In Mind

We are now less than seven weeks from Christmas! Let that sink in for a moment. Less than fifty days away (http://emailsanta.com/clock.asp). Are you excited yet?

Of course, Christmas itself is a joy in most ways. But the thing about Christmas is that it happens in December. Right there in the winter, in the cold and the rain and, yes, the snow. So we can be excited for the season while simultaneously having a few fears about it.

What we need to do is focus on making Christmas as wonderful as the legend has it. To make sure that that happens, it’s important to meet the challenges that the season throws at you. And challenges there will be. So are you ready to roll up your sleeves and give it the best you’ve got? Of course you are! You might just need some guidance in that – and a refresher course in enthusiasm.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow: There’s no getting away from it – in the heart of winter the chances of heavy snow increase. It’s not the case everywhere but if you’ve got a White Christmas, then it may look like a picture-book. It may be what you want but it is also something you need to be ready for. Your yard can be treacherous to walk in – especially for elderly relatives. Snowblowers from the likes of http://snowshifts.com can make a big difference to keeping everyone safe.

Too Many Guests For Comfort? Christmas is a family holiday and it stands to reason that if you have a big family, you want a big family Christmas. Of course, if you happen to be the host for that gathering, it means your home gets fuller. And you may not see the damage until everyone else goes back home.

Your home is built for a certain number of people. When more cram into it and stay for a few nights, that’s more food being cooked. More dishes being washed, more showers being taken, and more people utilizing the throne room. It means pipes can easily get blocked – especially as colder temperatures could lead to freezing. So keep a plumber on speed dial. Overnight, turn off your main water supply – it makes freezing less likely.

Emotions Run High, For Better Or Worse: The fact that you have a lot of people in the home together can lead to some of the best memories you’ll make. And if the weather permits, it means the chance for some trips out and walks in the snow. But the longer a lot of people are cooped up together the more chance there is for discord.

So there has to be metaphorical cooling-off as well as the literal kind. If there tends to be tension between certain people, allocate cooler heads to them so groups can separate and steam can be let off.

When everyone has gone home after the family gathering, you want your home to still be that cozy refuge from the winter weather. But more than that, you want it to be somewhere you can feel happy and relaxed so you can enjoy the rest of the holiday season.

The Grapes Of Bath – Stop Getting Angry About Your Bathroom And Do Something About It!

The Grapes Of Bath – Stop Getting Angry About Your Bathroom And Do Something About It!

Is the smallest room in your house a real bone of contention? Do the kids treat it like a play room? Is there mold where there shouldn’t be? Is it a nightmare to keep clean? If so it’s no wonder that you are annoyed. Keeping the bathroom in a decent state can be a trial. But there are some things that can help you on this epic quest. Keep reading to find out what they are.

Gadgets: First of all, if you have a family bathroom, then you need to take into consideration everyone that will be using it. Unfortunately, it is not just your own personal retreat for some ‘me time’ and to escape the hardships of the day. Especially if you are sharing it with your kids.

Luckily there are a few gadgets that can help you keep your bathroom a bit nicer for everyone that needs to use it. Try out something like a toothpaste squeezer. Not only will it get all the paste from the tube, saving you money, but it will also stop the kids from getting it everywhere.

Or how about using a reminder like the Amazon Dash button? All you have to do is press the button next to the item that you are running low on. No more running out of hand soap or toilet roll in your house!

Decor: Some bathrooms are just beyond the pale if they look dirty no matter how much your scrub them. Or, if they are looking a little dated compared to the rest of your house, then it might be time for a new bathroom suite.

You want to go for the best quality that your budget will allow so your new throne room will last as long as possible. You will also need to consider your style options. Will you go for a sleek modern bathroom or something with a bit more character?

Whatever you do, don’t forget to check online bathroom shops that stock items such as luxury baths and showers.

Cleaning: Hands up who likes cleaning the bathroom? No one? Shocker! Seriously though, cleaning the bathroom can seem like a major bore and a horrible chore. But you want it to be clean so it’s hygienic and pleasant to use. So how can you reconcile these two things?

Well, you can get everyone that uses it into a good routine. If you use the last piece of toilet roll, then you have to change the roll. If you spill something, you have to mop it up. Not only will this make your bathroom a much more pleasant place to be. But it will also get your family into good habits for when they are older.

You can also do small regular cleans instead of trying to take on a filthy bathroom all in one go. Take 10 minutes out of your day to wipe down and disinfect the bathroom work surfaces. Then, the next day, use a bathroom foam to clean the surfaces quickly and without much fuss.

Want To Look Gorgeous For Your Christmas Party? Start Preparing Today!

With the holiday season right around the corner, it is important to look your best. Work parties, family get togethers, bumping into everyone and their brother at the store – it is a time when it might seem like all eyes are on you. It may only be the end of October, but these tips will help you prep for looking your best this holiday season and all year round. Take a look.

Want To Look Gorgeous For Your Christmas Party? Start Preparing Today!

Work Christmas parties are often the highlight of the year and an occasion many people look forward to. It’s a chance for you and your work colleagues to let your hair down and enjoy yourselves after a stressful year. It’s also the perfect excuse to get dressed up and look your absolute best. While you understandably want to have fun, Christmas parties can help your career. If you stand out, network with others and impress your boss, you may have a promotion in your sights. So to give you the confidence to do this effectively, you need to feel good about your appearance.

Even though it might seem premature, there are things that you can do now to help you look gorgeous in time for your work party. Take a look at these tips to help you get prepared well in advance.

Get Style Inspiration: One of the benefits of getting ready for your Christmas party now is that you have plenty of time to find the perfect outfit. But before you hit the shops, you need to get some holiday style inspiration. To help you get started, talk to your boss and colleagues about the type of affair that the party will be. This will ensure that you choose an outfit that makes a statement while also being suitable for the activity. For instance, if you are going out for drinks at a local bar, a ball gown might not be appropriate.

So whether it’s a casual meal or a big holiday ball, you can start getting inspired by potential outfit ideas now. You can go on http://www.pinterest.com/ and look at fashion magazines and blogs. Social media is another resource you can use. You can also try on outfits at your favorite stores and boutiques to see how they look and make you feel. This can give you a clear idea of what suits you and what doesn’t. Don’t forget to look at possible accessories and shoes to accompany your outfit too!

Getting inspired before you start shopping can be extremely beneficial. It helps you find possible outfits that will suit your body type and colors that suit your skin tone. Knowing what kind of outfit you want to buy can simplify your shopping process and make it less stressful. You can also start planning how you want your hair and makeup to look. Don’t forget accessories too! Any holiday look isn’t complete without a touch of bling from paradigm jewelry. All of this information can make choosing a fabulous outfit for your Christmas party as easy as possible.

Whiten Your Teeth: A bright, white smile can make you seem more friendly and approachable to others. This is ideal if you plan to network and introduce yourself to others at your Christmas party. It can also make you feel more confident about your appearance which can make you feel amazing. So if you want to enhance your smile in time for your Christmas party, you need to whitening your teeth now. It can take weeks and multiple whitening sessions to get the results you want. This is why it’s always best to do this sooner rather than waiting till later.

The majority of dental surgeries now offer teeth whitening services to their patients. So contact your dentist to make an appointment. Alternatively, you can whiten your teeth by yourself at home. There are a number of kits you can buy that use either strips or mouth guards. These kits are easy to use and can give you excellent results but some are better than others. See http://TeethWhiteningAtHomeTips.com/ to find out which whitening strips are the most effective. It will be hard for you to stop smiling throughout the party when your teeth look so clean and bright.

Make an Appointment at Your Salon: As soon as the countdown to Christmas starts, hair and beauty salons will be overwhelmed with appointments. Remember that thousands of other people will be attending Christmas parties and want to look their best, too. To ensure that your hair looks beautiful for your party, you need to book an appointment at your salon now. This will ensure that you can have a consultation with your hairdresser beforehand to try out different hair styling ideas. You can also have your hair dyed, cut, and blow dried so it looks as fresh as possible for your party.

If you are unable to get an appointment for a consultation or cut at your hair salon, don’t panic. You can hire a mobile hairdresser to visit you at your home instead. But again make sure you make an appointment quickly as they too will get booked up.

Start a New Skin Care Regime: When you are self-conscious of your skin, it can stop you from being confident and carefree. This is not how you want to feel when you celebrate the holidays. Instead of letting this continue, start a new skin care regime instead. This can help you get fresh and clear skin that makes you feel unstoppable. Makeup application can also be improved with clearer skin. It will go on more smoothly and stay in place longer. You also won’t have to wear as much because you won’t have blemishes or pimples to cover up.

It’s advantageous to start this regime as soon as you can to give your skin time to heal and adjust. Otherwise, you may not get the results you desire. There are countless products you can try to get glowing skin. But it’s vital that you create a regime with products that suit your skin type for the best results. Visit http://www.webmd.com/beauty/ or talk to beauty specialists to discover what your skin type is.

As part of your new regime, also get into the habit of cleaning your makeup brushes each week. Dirt, sweat, and old makeup can linger on your brushes and clog your pores. So using clean and hygienic brushes can benefit your skin significantly.

Even though your Christmas party might be not be happening just yet, these preparations will ensure that you look gorgeous no matter what. The more you do in advance, the less stressful the getting ready process will be. So rather than leaving it till the last minute, start preparing for your Christmas party today. You won’t regret it!

Dreaming Of Your December Decor Yet?

Standard
Dreaming Of Your December Decor Yet?

I know it’s early still, but why not get excited about the upcoming holidays? I know I am! All the magic and atmosphere of those few short weeks brings a little cheer that can last through the entire winter. And you get to spend all that extra time with your lovely family! There’s food, drinks, friends, gifts, and lots of lovely decorations. What’s not to like?

Whether you’re a Scrooge with no fairy lights or a grid grinder that lights up the whole street, the festive period should bring you some joy. Most of us like a small number of twinkling fairy lights on the tree. And if you have kids, you might add some outdoor lights to your roof line as well. If you’re worried about the cost, or the effect on the environment, consider LEDs. They use far less energy so they’re much cheaper to run. You can also add a timer so the lights go out automatically when you want them to.

If you love crafts and DIY, you might work on a festive project each year to create your own decorations. Perhaps you like to paint a snowy scene? Or maybe make your own paper chains to hang around the room? Of course, if you prefer to buy good quality tree decorations or fun Christmas ornaments, they will last for years and can be used again and again. Pick a theme that means something special to you and your family. Or choose something quirky each year to bring a smile to all of your faces. If crafting is so not your thing, revel in decor shopping instead. Websites like Hammacher offer a one stop shop for all of your holiday decor wants and needs. Curl up in a blanket, get cozy, and shop away to fully immerse your home in the festive spirit – no crafting required!

If you’re like me, buying gifts might be your most favorite part of the season. Or it might be the bit that you dread the most! It’s always fun, though, if you take someone along with you. A friend, mom, or sister could be the perfect companion to help you make some fun gift choices. Stop off at a cafe for an eggnog and Christmas cookies! Make a fun day of it and you’ll soon be in the festive spirit.

Real tree or artificial? There are lots of reasons for choosing an artificial tree. They can be reused. You can leave the decorations on all year while it’s in storage. And you won’t get all the mess. But you also won’t get that lovely scent. You won’t get the joy of picking the perfect size for your tiny apartment. And you won’t have all the fun of dragging it down the street! Personally, my family has had the same artificial tree for years and the best thing about it is that you don’t have to take it down right away out of festiveness or laziness. Regardless of the reason, my family tree may or may not have been up until May of last year…

Do you like to have a festive centerpiece on the table for your Christmas dinner? You can make them quite easily with a few crafting essentials. Choose candles or battery powered lights for a warm glow. Just make sure your other table decorations are fire proof! Do you add decorations to your wine glasses? Glass charms come in all sorts of shapes and sizes. Pick a festive set, and charm your own glasses.

It’s lots of fun decorating the tree and the rest of the house for the festive period. It can be a good way to come together as a family, too. Best of all, it’s something wonderful to enjoy looking at for a few weeks while the weather is bad!

What is your favorite holiday decoration? What was the longest that you ever had a Christmas tree up for? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Turn The TV Off And Spend Some Time As A Family

Standard
Turn The TV Off And Spend Some Time As A Family

TV and movie time as a family is great but getting out and being active together is even better! Here are some tips for creating some fun new memories sans the telly!

Turn The TV Off And Spend Some Time As A Family:

There’s no point shying away from the fact that technology has had a big impact on ours’ and our children’s lives. Gone are the days when kids would spend their time bike riding, climbing trees, and playing outside. Nowadays, most children prefer to spend their time watching movies or playing computer games. Of course, technology is highly beneficial and has improved our lives in a lot of ways.

However, in many ways, it has impacted family time. Making it just a little bit harder to get the quality time that as families, we need. That being said, just because technology makes it harder to have quality family time, that doesn’t mean it’s impossible. It’s just a case of coming up with ideas for spending time as a family that don’t include the TV or games consoles but are still fun and appealing to the kids.

Take a Camping Trip: One of the most exciting parts of any childhood is going on a camping trip. Kids love adventure, which is why taking a family camping trip is a great idea. The kids will be excited to spend some time out in the wilderness, a campsite, or even your own backyard; and you can look forward to spending some quality time together.

It doesn’t matter whether you go for one night or several nights, all that matters is that you’re doing something as a family. You can build campfires, roast marshmallows, and play games together. If you’re not keen on sleeping under the stars, how about going glamping instead? (My kind of camping!!) To keep the good times rolling, it is a smart idea to invest in Easy install kits for your camper so you can be connected in case of an emergency during your trip.

Start a New Family Hobby: Another way to spend some time together as a family is to start a new hobby together. This doesn’t have to be anything too time-consuming, just something that you can all do and enjoy together. Think about what yours’ and your children’s likes and dislikes are and then go from there.

Say, for example; your kids love treasure hunts and you love walking. If this is the case, Geocaching could be the ideal hobby to take up. Geocaching is where you use an app to direct you to the hidden treasure – AKA little things that other people have hidden. This may not be 100 percent technology-free but the app only acts as a map and gives you clues, it’s not the main part of the hobby. The fun part is trying to find the things that have been hidden. For kids, it’s a ton of fun and encourages them to get out of the house and be active.

Or maybe, you’re pretty handy at sewing. Why not make teaching your kids to sew your family hobby? Get your children a sewing book. Look online at the best beginner sewing machine for kids to ensure that you pick the right one. Spend some time teaching them how to sew. Sewing might be a slightly outdated hobby, but it can still be a lot of fun. Whether you’re making new clothes for dolls, Halloween costumes, or just putting some fun patches on a pair of jeans, the main idea is that you’re creating something together!

Cook Together: Reserving one night a week for a family cooking night is another possibility. Each week, spend one night cooking together as a family. This could be trying something new or it could be making simple things like pizza. It’s not about what you cook but about having some fun, getting a little messy, and teaching your kids some new culinary skills. To vamp up this idea even more, you could dedicate each week to creating a meal from a different culture. This will encourage your children to try new things as well as cultivate a sense of adventure when it comes to different foods.

Live Shows: For a change of pace in your entertainment, how about seeing a live show? From plays and musicals to concerts and magicians, it is so exciting to break away from the screen and see something in real life. Whether you are enjoying Christmas tunes like those performed in this Pigeon Forge Show or laughing away at a comedian, it is sure to create lasting memories. Perhaps every few months a member of your family could pick the entertainment outing so everyone gets a say in an event.

Why Finding The Time To Clean Your Home Properly Isn’t Really That Hard

Why Finding The Time To Clean Your Home Properly Isn’t Really That Hard

Do you ever feel like no matter what you do, nothing will ever be perfectly clean in your home? Or how about not having enough time to get everything nice and sparkly? If so, here are some tips to help you tidy up!

Why Finding The Time To Clean Your Home Properly Isn’t Really That Hard:

Cleaning is one of those jobs that never seem finished. It doesn’t matter how many times you do it, there is always something else that could be done. It can be hard to find the time in our lives to clean up to our own standards. But a clean and tidy environment is something everyone needs for a healthy and happy home. So how can we find time to clean even when we are busy working, raising our families, and having a life? Read on to find out:

10 Minutes: If there is a cleaning or organizational job that is getting to you and you just keep putting it off, why not try the 10-minute approach. It is so surprising how much you can get done in 10 minutes if you focus totally on the task in hand. You might even finish that job that looked like it could have taken you the better part of half an hour! But even if you don’t, once you have got started it is much more likely that you will keep on with the job. This is because you can see the progress that you made.

Even if you just can’t bear to do any more at that time, don’t worry. You have had a go and you can come back and do another 10 minutes later when you are feeling ready. This works particularly well if you have a large space to clean or if you have a cupboard full of junk that you need to clear out.

Automate: An important time-saving trick when cleaning is to automate as many jobs as possible. Using a dishwasher is an easy way to get those dishes from last night’s dinner party clean. Picking a certain time to load the dishwasher during the day is also a great idea, so you are not constantly washing up as you go along. Another clever way of automating a part of the cleaning is to get a robot hoover. They whizz around your home in the day when you are at work, hoovering up any dust and debris. Then your floors are kept clean and clear daily, all without you having to lift a finger. You can click here for info on robot hoovers.

Assign & Reward: Something that can help families of all shapes and sizes find enough time to keep the house clean is to assign some chores to the kids. Not only does this teach them a sense of responsibility but it also helps them feel that they are doing their part to contribute to the family. You may decide that they have to complete a certain number of chores to receive their weekly allowance. This will help them organize their own time and also show them the value of money as they have to earn it, instead of just being given it.

Routine: An additional time-saving tip for busy parents is to have a cleaning routine like this one here. Routines are used by professional cleaners to ensure that every aspect of the room that they are working on is clean and tidy to a sparkling standard. It can also help you keep focused and organized when doing the cleaning as you won’t get distracted by other tasks that are not on the list.

What is your least favorite chore to do? How about your favorite? (Mine is Swiffering!!) I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

The Golden Rules Of Keeping Your Family In Great Shape

Standard
The Golden Rules Of Keeping Your Family In Great Shape

It seems health crises are popping up all over the place these days. It might be obesity one day; a rise in diabetes the next – it’s clear there is an ongoing concern for the state of the nation’s health. It made me think of what we should all be doing to protect our families and loved ones.

We are all responsible, of course – particularly if you have children. With this in mind, I have been scouring the web and have developed my golden rules for excellent family health. Read on to find out more about my choices:

Immunize: Are you immunizing your children – or yourselves – against nasty diseases and conditions? So many parents are failing to take their responsibilities seriously by avoiding them and it’s such a shame. We could have left plenty of serious illnesses like polio and diphtheria in the past. But instead, some people’s failure to take baby immunizations seriously means that there could be a lot of problems in the future.

Diet: Head to your local park and you will see people of all shapes and sizes. Each to their own, I say – but I do take exception when I see so many overweight kids. It’s nothing short of scary – it just wasn’t like this even a decade ago. Now, kids run around – a lot. So when you see so many larger children, it’s clear there is a problem in society with diet. Too much sugary or fatty foods and an inability to teach basic nutrition are going to cost us all in the future. Great nutrition should be the building block of a healthy family. Parents – it’s time to step up the plate.

Exercise: Are you setting your kids a good example when it comes to fitness? Getting plenty of exercise will help you keep a healthy body and mind, but it also benefits your children. They will learn to enjoy exercise at an early age and will love doing things with you. Get your family more active and you will reap the rewards. I know not all children are sporty, but you don’t have to be to keep fit. Even going out for regular adventures in the woods can have a positive impact on the health of your kids.

Relationships: Keeping your relationships strong is another way to keep your family in great condition. Communication is key and it’s always a good idea to help your kids learn to speak well and let their thoughts out. Also, be careful about how you feel about your partners and children. Cultivating positive thoughts about everyone is a great way to strengthen relationships between everyone.

Challenges: Creating weekly challenges for your family is a great way to help children gain confidence in trying new things that are outside of their comfort zone. Doing challenges together as a family is also an awesome way to teach children the value of exploration. Even going to a different play park or swimming pool once in awhile can help. And, it also gives you that sense of adventure that can make your family bonds even stronger.

Are there any other golden rules of keeping your family in great shape? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Kids And Pets: Teaching Your Children Responsibility The Adorable Way

Standard
Kids And Pets: Teaching Your Children Responsibility The Adorable Way

My first pet was a guinea pig way back when in the fifth grade. He was the most precious little thing – black and white with a brown circle around his left eye. My fifth grade level of creativity settled on the name of Oreo and he was simply the best. I have always been really fond of small, furry animals and now the latest battle is getting my boyfriend to get me a bunny! So far I have been unsuccessful but that’s nothing that a little persistence can’t cure! Check out some more ideas for pets that are perfect for children in this article:

Kids And Pets: Teaching Your Children Responsibility The Adorable Way:

Any parent knows the feeling that creeps up when the kids decide that they want a pet. There is a conversation that always takes place between the parent, who is keen and reluctant at the same time, and the kids. You know that there will be early enthusiasm, followed by distraction. You will be left being the one who looks after the pet – which you won’t mind, but there are valuable lessons about responsibility here.

It doesn’t help that the most usual pets are the ones who often require the most looking after. Everyone loves a kitten or a puppy. As they grow, though, they need to be seen through some milestones. Unless you want a misbehaving adolescent dog or a litter of surprise kittens, they need to be “fixed”. And if they act out while you’re away from home, it’s carnage. So to get kids used to looking after a pet, a less high-maintenance one may be a great start.

Birds: Noisy And Full Of Character, But Not Too Much Stress: A tropical bird can be one of the most enjoyable pets for kids and adults alike. It is advisable to find one that is already habituated to humans. Find a hand raised Amazon for sale and look forward to some of the most entertaining years of your life.

Of course, they need to be fed but that’s no sweat. Even the most squeamish kid can find the fun in feeding bits of fruit to a parrot. And be careful of your children trying to teach the parrot rude words. It’s almost inevitable, but the more attention you pay, the less likely there will be “hilarious consequences.”

pets1.png

Bird is the word

Tortoises: The Anti-Parrot (In Most Ways): If you’re looking for a low maintenance pet, you can’t go far wrong with a tortoise. Your kids may initially be skeptical. You can’t take a tortoise for a walk on a leash, or teach it to beg for scraps. However, they are sociable and patient animals. One major advantage that they have is that they can live to a ripe old age. Anyone who has ever consoled a child through the loss of a pet knows how much of a relief this is.

pets2.png
TURTLE!!

Guinea Pigs: Full Of Fun And Easy To Handle: If you’re looking for something in the small rodent family, then the Guinea Pig is the ideal pet to get your kids used to furry friends. They’re highly sociable and don’t mind being handled. They also know when they are about to be fed, which leads to an excitable squeak that the kids will adore. And when they’re euphoric, they do something called “popcorning.” On that, we’ll let the video speak – or squeak – for itself.

pets3.png

So. CUTE!

Of course, you will need to talk seriously with your kids from time to time about how to look after a pet. Naturally, their attention spans are not at the same level as yours. But as they gain the skills to care for a pet, you can think about cats and dogs too. Just watch out if you have a cat and a parrot. Cats like to chase birds, and they may see an adult parrot as the ultimate challenge!

What was your first pet? What kind of pet do you have now? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
