Hello one and all and Happy Monday! In all of the blogging world, there is one special gal who always comes to mind first. And, that is Nida from Shopaholic Blogs. Nida was the very first guest blogger that I ever had on lifewithlilred and she has become a staple on my page every time I host a guest bloggers series. She is funny, fashion forward, and downright fabulous! Not only that, but it’s impossible not to smile while reading her posts and watching her videos.

Welcome to a fabulous fall inspired 🍂 post courtesy of my long time blogging BFF Sarah of lifewithlilred 💞. I love collaborating with Sarah on guest posts, because she gives me so much creative freedom and she is always so appreciative of my work that it pushes me to do better every time.✨ So, for this fall themed post, I decided to put together an autumn OOTD (Which, by sheer coincidence, happens to be my favorite kind of post💓).

Technically speaking, there really is no fall season here in Dubai since summer ☀️ lasts all the way to November and then we jump straight into a very mild winter. However, just because we don’t get to experience actual fall 🍁 doesn’t mean that we can’t dress up for it! 😉

My take on fall included a bright, flowy top in a gorgeous yellow color, which I think is reminiscent of the splendor of autumn. I paired it with statement crop pants in a deep forest green 🍃 and beautiful foliage in all shades of green, yellow, and orange.

Both pieces are from the Loft petites collection, which is my go to store for trendy, affordable clothing. ✨ I finished the look with these charming (Though extremely uncomfortable 😳) sandals by Jessica Simpson.

As a reader of my page, Christina knows that I have a fondness for learning new languages and, today, she is going to teach all of us about the Norwegian term called “koselig”. The Magic Of Koselig

Warm light from candles, a cold breeze, and rustling leaves as you scoop up some stew your friend just made. You take a sip of some beer and talk with your friends about everything and anything. A fire is lit and you hang out well into the night. You get drunk, forgetting that the weather is not so great – or is it? This is Norwegian Koselig.

The more popular sister to Koselig is Hygge from Denmark.“While there’s no one English word to describe hygge, several can be used interchangeably to describe the idea of hygge such as coziness, charm, happiness, contentedness, security, familiarity, comfort, reassurance, kinship, and simpleness” says hyggehouse.com. Let’s describe it better in pictures:

Hello! Today, we are going to hear a little something from my darling friend, Carlie, over at Bombshell on Celebrating Mabon. As you will read in this post, Mabon is a Pagan nature holiday that gives thanks to all things fall and it’s something that Carlie enjoys participating in. Carlie will also be back later on this month with more fall and Halloween fun so definitely keep it posted, because she’s awesome! ❤

Autumn is my favorite time of year for many reasons. The weather starts to get cooler, I love seeing the leaves changing beautiful colors, Halloween aka Samhain, and celebrating “Mabon”. Like Samhain, Mabon is a Pagan nature based holiday that represents the beginning of the Autumnal Equinox. It also signifies the second harvest of the calendar and promotes equality and balance. It’s a very positive time of the year where a lot of people celebrate the changing of the seasons, create their own little traditions, and enjoy nature of course. I hope you all are looking forward to the beginning of Autumn/Mabon as much as I am. This year the Autumn Equinox begins Friday, September 21st. And, if you want to celebrate Mabon in any way, it goes from September 21st to Saturday, September 29th!

Cooling Down

Heyyy! With August coming to an end, the weather in good ol’ Northeast Ohio is finally cooling down. So much so, that I got to break out one of my faux leather jackets and be able to wear it comfortably. Needless to say, I was really FEELING MYSELF and taking selfies was a must. And, obviously sharing them with all of you is a must too! Take a look:

Once cardigan and light jacket weather ensues, I instantly feel happy. Fall weather is my favorite type of weather and I love dressing for it. I can style a mean autumn outfit, and walking around during the day knowing that I look my best is a surefire way to keep my confidence high no matter what I have in store. I can tell in the pictures above that I was feeling great, and I’m looking forward to more fall days to keep that streak going!

Can’t settle on one shade? Fear not! All of these colors compliment each other well, so feel free to give yourself an accent nail or two!

Hey everyone and welcome to my last swatch from my sample packet compliments of Givenchy’s Le Rouge Liquide collection! Today, we will be swatching a deep berry color called Rouge Suedine and I am actually lightweight obsessed. Clearly, I saved the best for last, so take a look and let’s discuss:

After actually wearing this color on my lips, I will say that it’s more matte than I anticipated it being but it still felt and had the semi appearance of a gloss. The application of this product was smooth, even with your basic single use wand, so I could imagine that using an actual tube would be even better!

I love a good berry lip for fall, and I enjoyed having blackberry stained lips for the day when I gave it a try. The only disappointment was that I must have reapplied the lippie at least three times between the morning and early afternoon, because the color in the center and corner of my lips faded drastically. Had that not been a factor, I would consider buying Rouge Suedine, because the color really is lovely. I’ve never experimented too heavily with berry lips, so this is a good starting point to find the perfect shade and brand for fall.

More New Clothes!

More New Clothes!

Howdy! Right about now marks the time when I love to shop, because fall clothes are beginning to be introduced in stores. And, as we all know, fall is Lil Red’s season. The clothes, the weather, the activities, the clothes – I love it all! But, most importantly, I love the clothes! Fall fashion is the jam. From cozy sweaters and cute boots to layering all the things, my fashion sense truly shines in autumn.

To help kick start my fall wardrobe, some online shopping at TJMaxx was a must, and I was able to welcome these pretty little numbers home. Check it out:

  • Faux Leather Skirt by BB Dakota: $20
  • Rust Colored Sweater by Lush: $10

The midi skirt is an article of clothing that I have admired from afar for a long time. Because of my 5’1 stature, most midi skirts end up looking maxi on me, until this BB Dakota one came along. I. Love. It. So. Much. It fits at my natural waist instead of on my hips, so the extra length doesn’t go down my legs but, rather, up my torso to make for a real midi skirt instead of a maxi. And the faux leather floral material? Forget about it.

This skirt is going to look amazing with a pair of heeled booties, a tucked in black sweater, and a denim jacket over the top if it’s a bit chilly out. I am so excited to finally be able to style my first midi skirt and am looking forward to hopefully finding more midis that I can actually wear as a midi in the future!

And, we can’t forget about the ten dolla holla sweater by Lush! This top is so totally comfy and the colors are so totally perfect for fall AND for me. Rust orange is one of my favorite colors to wear, because it’s deep enough that it doesn’t clash against my bright red hair. Instead, it plays up with my pasty pale skin tone and creates a really nice look overall.

You really can’t beat a brand new sweater for ten dollars and I am psyched to wear it already. This is a perfect lazy fall day top, because all you need do is pair it with a good pair of skinnies and boots and go. Love it!
