Husband’s Shirt Alert OOTD

Husband’s Shirt Alert OOTD

Hello! One of the best things about being married to Johnny other than EVERYTHING is his wardrobe! Even before we started dating, I had admired Johnny’s personal style from afar on Facebook. He is, easily, one of the most well dressed men that I have ever met and it’s fun to be married to someone who feels equally as strongly about fashion as I do. Whenever I am feeling uninspired by my closet for OOTDs, I turn to Johnny’s and play dress up. Which is exactly how I came up with this look:

Who? What? Wear?

Button Down Shirt: This is Johnny’s and it’s from Straight To Hell

Skinny Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters

Hardware Loafers: Chase + Chloe, Forever 21

Heart Earrings: SugarFix by BaubleBar, Target

Snake Cuffs: The blue one is from the Akron Zoo and the pink one is by Betsey Johnson

Cross Bracelet Ring: This is as old as the hills and it’s from Claire’s

On Saturday, Johnny and I had a pretty busy day with lots of errands and driving. Normally, I don’t dress for comfort and would wear anything in the name of fashion. However, I wasn’t too keen on driving to our destinations, getting in and out of the car, and walking around in a super busy outfit. And, if we’re all being honest with each other, I just didn’t feel like putting in the effort lol so I wanted to go for a simple and stylish look.

My goal for the new year has been creating as many OOTDs as I can and Johnny and I have been almost one hundred percent faithful to our Saturday photo shoots. After close to ten weeks of shopping exclusively in my closet, I was bored with literally everything! I vetoed so many outfit ideas and just when I was about to throw my hands up and grab a hoodie, I remembered that I had another wardrobe to browse through and headed to Johnny’s Closet; my favorite boutique!

For our outing, I knew that we would be experiencing a nice, warm day and headed straight to the short sleeve button down department. While Johnny is partial to the long sleeved button downs from Phix, he loves the short sleeve ones from Straight To Hell the best. He has several in a variety of different patterns and I have always wanted to wear the skull and sexy lady shirt. So I did!

With a shirt finally figured out, building the rest of the look was so easy from there and I returned to my own belongings to finish up. Although we have had teases of spring temperatures, it is still not warm enough for anything but jeans so that was an out of my hands decision. I am SO looking forward to shorts, skirts, and dresses weather! Now, it was time to accessorize.

For shoes, I chose my Chase + Chloe mini heeled loafers that are decked out in spikes and studs. I love how they popped against the minimal palette and the white on bottom seemed to make the pattern of the top even more striking. In the jewelry department, I was able to be a bit more carefree about it because anything would have worked against the neutral outfit base. I selected dangly heart earrings for some movement and it was a welcome burst of color around my face.

When it comes to other pieces of jewelry and several of my tattoos are visible, I tend to go either way. Sometimes, I let my tattoos do the talking and keep other accessories to a minimum. However, this OOTD needed a little something more so I put on three bracelets to spice things up. Even though the cross ring bracelet is old as dirt, it is one of my favorites because it is so unique and I wish that I could find more like it. Then, I added my two bedazzled snake cuffs on my upper arms for some bling and a touch of sweetness to the edgy pattern of the top.

After dragging my feet for something to wear, this Husband’s Shirt Alert OOTD came together in under ten minutes. It was cool, comfy and a perfect look for an errand filled afternoon. This outfit can be very easily recreated so try it out for yourself and keep it posted for the blooper reel tomorrow!

Out & About OOTD

Out & About OOTD

Hey! This past weekend, I did a whole lot of nothing and it is exactly what I needed. For the most part, I became one with my couch but, Johnny and I did have a few errands to run on Saturday. Since Saturday is our picture day anyways, I decided to keep things simple and put together a look for going out and about in. Our errands ended with Taco Bell for lunch so, as luck would have it, I even got to post up at a different brick wall! Check it out:

Who? What? Wear?

Leopard Print Blazer: Christian Siriano, TJMaxx

The Room T-Shirt: Christmas gift from my sister

Distressed Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters

Heeled Boots: Olivia Miller, TJMaxx

Cross Earrings: EmLeigh’s and Mama B’s

Floppy Hat: Brandy Melville, PacSun

During the work week, you can always catch me in jeans and a hoodie because I don’t go out into the general public very much, if at all. So, during the weekend, it only feels appropriate to get dolled up even if it is just for going out and picking up some odds and ends. This is probably one of the most casual OOTDs that have been featured on lifewithlilred recently. However, I used a few tricks up my sleeves to elevate it from the basic base of jeans and a T.

When I am not working or hanging out at home, I rarely wear T-shirts. This is mainly because when Johnny and I do go out, we take OOTD shots and I’d rather have a cute top on. This past Saturday was different, though, because it was actually really nice out and a sweater or heavier jacket would have been much too warm. So, I decided to use the heat wave as an opportunity to create a walk through on how to make an errands outfit more special.

For my T, I went with one of my favorites from one of my favorite bad movies of all time: The Room. My sister gave it to me a few Christmases ago and I LOVE it. Since the base of this outfit was composed of All Black Everything essentials, I chose my distressed AEO jeans to add some visual interest. It was also my only option because a dog slobbered on my unripped pair when I was walking lol but that’s neither here nor there!

Once the jeans and T were selected, accessorizing was key. I knew that I needed a light jacket and had just the one in mind: My knit blazer by Christian Siriano. This blazer was just right in terms of the level of warmth I needed, but its main purpose was the leopard print. I consider animal print to be an accessory in itself and the blah base of this OOTD immediately got spiced up by simply slipping the blazer on.

Prior to styling this look, I was having a bad hair day and knew that I wanted to wear a hat. I tried on several less bold hats in my collection and ended up going with the one I tried on first: The Brandy Melville. This hat is old as the hills, but it adds so much drama to a look because of its shape and movement. And, if it covers up a bad hair day? Even better!

After the main base for my outfit was sorted, it was time for shoes and jewelry. I also wanted to focus on adding length for a nice, sleek silhouette. To accomplish this, I put on my heeled boots by Olivia Miller. These boots blended seamlessly into my jeans so as not to break up the leg line and the chunky chain added some bling. To better accentuate my neck with the hat on, I popped on a dangly pair of bejeweled cross earrings. The result? I felt way taller than 5’1 and much more stylish than how this outfit first started out!

To crank up the heat on an Out & About OOTD, accessorizing is key! Use patterns to your advantage, choose pieces with movement, opt for big and bold hats, sunglasses, and accessories… And, as always, a little bit of bling goes a long way. This look is very easy to recreate and you will turn anywhere you need to be into your own personal runway!

Target Run

Target Run

Hello! I have not been in a store just to browse since the beginning of the pandemic and you guys have no idea how much I have missed it. For a while, I was only going grocery shopping and I stopped doing that a few months ago, opting for curbside delivery instead. Now that I am fully vaccinated, I feel much more comfortable running errands so when my sister texted me last Saturday morning asking if I wanted to go on a Target Run, I couldn’t say no!

Kristen picked me up with my niece, Valerie, and I was so excited because Target is Val’s favorite store and I have never been there with her. Such good taste at just two years old! It seems so simple but that small outing that lasted a little over an hour was enough to make me insanely happy. It was, finally, a warm spring day in Ohio and driving in the car with Kristen and Val with the sun shining and music playing on the way to Target felt like the first semblance of normal I’ve had in a long time.

I am just as surprised as all of you that my first window shopping trip in over a year wasn’t to TJMaxx but Target is a close second and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. We even ran into Jared’s really quickly after our Target trip so I could check on the progress of my wedding band and it is looking amazing. Kristen and I are planning on doing another shopping excursion soon because we are both in need of new summer clothes and I can’t wait. Here’s to many more safe outings all summer! ❤

What have you missed the most during the pandemic? Which store is your happy place? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Gardening:

It can feel daunting to tackle your garden maintenance, especially if your outdoor space has gone unloved for a while. You could seek out Pinterest for some garden inspiration, or you could hire a professional gardener to take the stress off you. Your garden might need a little spruce up or you might take the opportunity to hire a landscape gardener for a complete overhaul. Take back some vital weekend time you might otherwise spend wondering what to do with your garden.

Daily Errands:
