Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Little Mermaid Themed Bikini

Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Little Mermaid Themed Bikini

Helloooo! So I shit you not, the last time I bought a bikini was damn near over six years ago. Crazy, I know. But, I don’t really like swimming because I hate getting my hair wet so it hasn’t been that big of a deal. However, with my apartment complex having a pool and the family going to Hilton Head this summer for vacation, I figured it was time for a new one. Joyyyyyyy because bikini shopping sucks, amiright or amiright?

BUT NOT THIS TIME!

I have had my eye on a bikini from Hot Topic for a few months now and I finally made my way to the mall to try it on over the weekend. And, by god, it worked! I literally tried it on once and I knew that it was a-okay, which NEVER happens. Check out this cuteness:

When you’re a more busty girl, bikini shopping can be about a bitch. I only feel comfortable in bikinis that have bra like support and this Little Mermaid themed top definitely offered that. It fit shockingly well for a bikini top that wasn’t from Victoria’s Secret, which is where I figured I would end up purchasing one from. So not mad about it, though!

And, can we please talk about how darling the little skirted bottoms are?! I’ve always wanted bikini bottoms like these and they are just so perfect. The bikini set is sexy while still being adorable and with my red hair I feel like a punk rock Ariel ready to hit the pool!

I scored my new suit for just under forty bucks with Hot Topic’s buy one get one for ten dollar deal and I thought that this was a steal. While online bikini shopping at VS, just one bikini separate was at least forty dollars or more. For once, I am so excited about being seen in a bikini and I promise I will take some pics as soon as the pool opens! πŸ˜€

Lil Sephora Haul

Lil Sephora Haul

Helloooo everyone! Within the past year or so, I have become absolutely addicted with shopping Sephora. Can you believe that there was a point in my life when I didn’t understand why people were so obsessed with it?! I used to think that it was so overpriced but, if you know how to shop their deals online, then you literally make out like a bandit with tons of free goodies and promotions.

Whenever I need a reup on my beloved Better Than Sex mascara, I always turn to Sephora’s website so that I can get some free swag with the things that I needed to purchase anyways. In my most recent haul, I grabbed two more BTS mascaras, my favorite highlighter in Sephora’s Golden Hour collection in Dusk, and three freebies. Take a look:

sephora

The Haul:

  • 2 Better Than Sex mascaras by Too Faced
  • Golden Hour collection highlighter in Dusk by Sephora
  • Laura Mercier lipstick in Classic Red – FREE!
  • Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfume sample – FREE!
  • Jack Black Pure Clean Daily Facial Cleanser sample – FREE!

Although I do love shopping Sephora online, it is sometimes disappointing to receive your package and see that the samples that you ordered were replaced with different ones. I originally chose a face mask and serum sample as my two freebies and got the perfume and cleanser, instead, most likely because the two I wanted were out of stock. It’s fine, but I’m not really a perfume girl and I can never tell if I like a cleanser by just one sample use. This has actually happened the past several times I ordered with Sephora and, believe me, I’m not mad about it. It’s just more annoying than anything.

Another unfortunate instance with this order was that the box for one of my mascaras was completely un-intact, which is a little disconcerting with makeup. I’m not worried about it, but it’s just not a good look to open your box and see one of the rather expensive mascara tubes just hanging out in there instead of in its package. Normally, Sephora’s packaging is on point and this was easily the worst overall order I’ve had since shopping with them.

Despite the hiccups with my freebie samples and the poor packaging, I am excited to try the Classic Red lipstick shade by Laura Mercier, which I got for free with a twenty-five dollar purchase. Be on the lookout for a swatch post for that soon. And, here’s to a better unboxing experience next time!

Moving On Up: Groovy Movies Haul

Moving On Up: Groovy Movies Haul

Greetings! I am an avid movie fan and am always trying to expand my DVD collection. Especially because I refuse to get expensive cable while being in my apartment and I have yet to decide which entertainment streaming service I want to go with. So, until I figure that out, it will be nice to have things to watch or something to just pop in for background noise.

Target is usually my go to destination for new movies because they have an excellent five dollar selection – and you’re not going to not buy something for just five bucks! I also managed to get some movies FO FREE at one of my local libraries with a small donation so that was really nice, too. Check it out:

movies

Those who know me will know that I am a huge fan of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo series. I loved the books and the Swedish films are to die for. I was not the biggest fan of the American version but, it was there, so I figured why not. My mind was also blown by seeing Get Out at Target available for just FIVE BUCKS so I obviously needed that. And, for some comic relief, I love all things Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman so Identity Thief was a total must, as well.

A lot of the libraries in my neck of the woods are doing their spring cleaning and many of them have shelves full of free books, movies, and book tapes to select. So, it was nice to grab a few for a little donation even though the ones that I picked out are not my favorite. But, if I need a good cry, I’m glad that I now have Nebraska to help out with that! πŸ˜€

Moving On Up: Queen Of The Amazon Edition

Helloooo! A little factoid about Lil Red is that I am so incredibly directionally challenged. Frankly, even if I know exactly where I’m going and how to get there, it still feels like I don’t know where I’m going. And, because I refuse to get a smartphone, buying a GPS of my own so that I don’t have to steal the one belonging to my parents was a must. I do a lot of driving for work in areas that I am not always familiar with and the last thing I need is to end up in Timbuktu with a client in the car. So, I went with this here GPS set that I ordered off of Amazon:

haul3

Thanks to all of the points that I had racked up on Amazon from all of my shopping with their credit card, I was able to get this GPS and its accessories for fifty dollars instead of eighty. My new set comes with a dashboard mount or a suction cup one for my front window as well as a sun blocker and an at home and car charger. I was so happy to have gotten all of the goodies with the GPS because they are all much needed and you absolutely cannot beat the price that I got it for. Here’s to Lil Red never getting lost again! πŸ˜€

Moving On Up: Family Dollar Haul

Moving On Up: Family Dollar Haul

Hiya! The discount stores during my shopping hauls for moving have been my most frequented. And, my neck of the woods has a ton of them. Lol, us Akronites are partial to our Dollar Tree, Family Dollar, Dollar General, and Five Below. πŸ˜€ But, for good reason. I was able to knock off some items from my “to buy” list for a fraction of what I would have paid at Target or even TJMaxx, ready for when the movers come. Take a looksee:

haul1haul2haul

As I’ve mentioned in a few of my previous posts, the lighting in my apartment sucks on ice. It is really dark in there with not a ton of windows so I’ve been on the prowl for different lamps to brighten things up. I paid twenty bucks for the two lamps seen above, which will be perfect for my office and my bedside table. I also purchased four jumbo candles for five dollars apiece to create a nice glow that will smell really good! Especially the watermelon one – yum!!

And, finally, my storage bench. I have always loved these, but I have not been able to find just the right one so I was really happy to have snagged this one at Family Dollar. I got it for thirty-five dollars, which I consider a steal. I love the fabric and the shiny silver design and the inside storage is actually very deep so I’ll be able to fit a lot my things in there that I can’t quite find a place for. A successful haul, indeed. πŸ˜€

What is your favorite discount store? How do you create good lighting? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Moving On Up: What Else Do I Need?!

Hello, hello! All of you have been following my process of getting ready for my move into apartment life and I thank you for it. I am so excited and, honestly, I wish I could move in right now! But, my move in date of April 20th will be here before I know it and I’m happy to say that pretty much all of my preparations for it have been made. Of course, there are things I still need, like home decor – but I’d rather get all of that once all of my furniture is moved in because then I’ll have a better understanding of how I want to decorate.

During moving prep, my shopping hauls definitely helped me feel more excited rather than stressed out and my bedroom has officially been overtaken with all of my purchases:

moving

^^^ So. Much. STUFF!!!

While I am feeling good about everything I have, I just know that I am forgetting some things and that is where all of you come in. Has anything been missing from my apartment hauls? What are some apartment necessities that I will need? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Moving On Up: Target Haul Edition

Moving On Up: Target Haul Edition

Hello! During my shopping for my move, Target has been especially kind to me. I have gotten the most useful things from there, including pots and pans, Tupperware, a trash can for my kitchen and a bunch of other odds and ends to help fill up my apartment. And, I got all of the goods below for prices that I was comfortable paying, which made me happy. Moving has proven to be expensive (Surprise, surprise lol) so balling on a budget has been a necessity. So, thank you to Target for helping me get the following:

targettarget1target2

It’s hard to pick what I am most excited about from my Target haul, but I’d probably have to go with the box set of The Hunger Games, haha. I love those damn movies and books so much so when I found the set for TEN DOLLARS, I couldn’t pass it up! Plus, until I decide what entertainment subscription I want to get, I just plan on watching a movie when I have some time to sit and relax. So, this purchase will definitely help fill a random few hours or maybe even a whole day on the weekend for a marathon…and wine.

My other bigger buys include a folding shelving unit for my office, potentially, and a floor lamp, which will look really nice beside my TV set. As I mentioned in other haul posts, the lighting in my apartment sucks so finding floor and table lamps has been a major priority. I hate dull lighting so brightening things up is an absolute must.

And, finally, I love the armed pillow I got for when I’m reading and I also grabbed some bathroom supplies including three sets of a bath towel, hand towel, and wash cloth as well as a new scruffy and some Jergens. A more odds and ends purchase but they definitely needed to happen!

Which entertainment package are you subscribed to? How do you create good lighting in your home? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Moving On Up: Keurig Edition

Moving On Up: Keurig Edition

Hi! I, admittedly, am not the biggest coffee drinker in the world now post surgery. I am much more of a tea type of gal. But, a Keurig was definitely an apartment necessity for when I’m extra tired in the morning or am entertaining guests. I planned on ordering one for myself off of Amazon, but my parents beat me to it and got me a little red Keurig. Check it out:

coffeecoffee1

I am really happy to have a compact Keurig that won’t take up a lot of room in my kitchen, because I don’t have a lot of counter space. This design is just what I need and having it in red was an obvious must! Of course, a Keurig isn’t complete without k-cups, which I purchased at Target.

I got a deal on the Archer Farms brand which made each pack of k-cups seven dollars if you buy two or more so I picked out three delicious sounding flavors in Buttery Caramel, Caramel Macchiato, and Vanilla Bean Creme Brulee. These will be tasty hot or cold and I can’t wait to serve a cup to my guests!

How do you drink your coffee? What is your favorite k-cup flavor? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Moving On Up: Bed Bath And Beyond Haul Edition

Moving On Up: Bed Bath And Beyond Haul Edition

Hi! Preparing for my move has been a very positive experience for me. In fact, I just hired movers yesterday to help me out during the big day. Thank you, Two Men And A Truck! πŸ˜€ I am feeling good, because I pretty much have gotten all of the big stuff that I need to take care of out of the way. Including setting up my internet, electric, the movers, and getting all of the furniture I need. Now, it’s all about the little odds and ends, like some of the following that I picked up from Bed Bath And Beyond:

bbbbbb1

I got my dad a salt lamp for Christmas this past year and I liked it so much that I had to get one for the apartment. The lighting in my place isn’t the best, so I’ve been on the hunt for floor and table lamps to help brighten things up. I think that my new salt lamp will look perfect on the vanity I got for my bedroom and will be a great night light, too.

I also picked up some supplies for my bathroom, a toothbrush holder and a value pack of toothbrushes to go with it. I didn’t even know Bed Bath And Beyond sold toothbrushes but they don’t call it Bed Bath And Beyond for NOTHIN! And, finally, my drinking buddies! I bought this pack of drink markers from TJMaxx for my cousin, Laura, who microblades my eyebrows and we both loved them. So, I was insanely happy to have found a pack for myself at BB&B. These cute pool boys will help keep me company in my apartment and will be very handy during my housewarming party. Nobody better pocket theirs, though! 😑

With every shopping trip, I feel more and more prepared for my own place. My credit card is on FIRE but, at least it’s racking up points on Amazon so I can get more stuff! πŸ˜€

Which stores offer the best credit card or rewards program? Do you have any silly drink markers? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Moving On Up: Mall Haul Edition

Hello everyone and welcome to the next haul in my Moving On Up series. Shopping for my new apartment has been an absolute blast. So much so that any type of stress that I have been feeling about the move has literally melted away. Talk about retail therapy, amiright?! In this haul, I picked up some random essentials at a few different stores in the mall including Bath & Body Works, Party City, and Spencer’s. Take a look:

mall

I love, love, love the foaming hand soaps from B&BW and I knew that I wanted to have those in my place for the kitchen and bathroom. I took advantage of the five for twenty-three dollar sale and picked out some real winners. The lemon scent will be perfect for the kitchen, but I am most looking forward to using the Peach Bellini and Blueberry Crumble, which both smell insanely delicious.

I also found the darling “Welcome” sign from Party City, which I am really happy with. I spent ten bucks on it and I feel like I got it for a steal! I love the colors, the flowers, and the cursive print and it will look so charming with the hard wood in my apartment. And, finally, no twenty-something’s pad would be complete without shot glasses from Spencer’s! Peep those Step Brothers ones! πŸ˜€ #turndownforwhat

I enjoyed this shopping trip to the mall a lot, because it was fun stuff that I picked out. Shopping for the bigger, more expensive things can be kind of a lot so it was nice to purchase all of the little items that felt like treats and will be well loved at chez moi.

What is the decor like at your home? What is your favorite hand soap scent? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
