Happy Birthday, Ankhor You!

Helloooo everyone and happy Tuesday! Today is a special day because it is my fellow Gemini darling’s 27th birthday! K.M., the author of the wonderful, fantastic, amazing blog, Ankhor You, is one of my literal favorite people on the planet. Not only is she immensely talented and a beautiful fashionista, but she is sweet, kind, and freaking hilarious. I am SO lucky to have such a lovely lady as a friend and it has been so much fun getting to know her better during our almost weekly FaceTime dates and frequent texting. I hope that all of you will join me in wishing K.M. a very happy birthday and I just know that 27 will be her best year yet! ❤

Ruby Tulip Launch!!

Ruby Tulip Launch!!

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! This is a very exciting day because lifewithlilred’s very first signature scent is here in the form of Ruby Tulip, a roll on fragrance oil. Ruby Tulip was created by the unbelievably talented scentstress of Angie’s Bath & Body – a dear friend, Angela. Her and I collaborated on this scent and she took what little ideas I had and turned them into a beautiful fragrance. Ruby Tulip is available for purchase on Angela’s Etsy shop and with shipping will be just over fifteen dollars. A total smell goods steal!

As I pondered what to say about this scent, I hit a brick wall. Especially because Angela’s description of Ruby Tulip on her site is simply perfect. So, I’m taking the stumped wordsmith’s route here and sharing that with you because I literally couldn’t have said it better myself:

RUBY TULIP CUSTOM PERFUME – 1/3 oz. (roll-on)

This a very special creation. A dear friend of mine asked me to create something special for her and her beloved blog readers. And so I did.

RUBY TULIP is made from all natural ingredients and with pure love. It took almost 2 months to get all of the essential oils to work perfectly together and now it’s ready for the world. It’s a citrus scent, but lightly. It wears very well and may only need 1 touch up throughout the day.

INGREDIENTS: Fractionated Coconut oil, lavender essential oil, lemongrass essential oil, rosemary essential oils, sweet orange essential oil, and a smidge of honeysuckle fragrance oil.

You have the option of adding rose petals or ordering without. The rose petals are a beautiful addition to the perfume.

Ruby Tulip is packaged in a 1/3 glass roll-on bottle w/cap. It will be shipped in a black roll-on box and organza bag via USPS 1st Class Mail.

I truly hope that you love this scent as much as I do.

Thanks,
Angela

^^^ Told you I couldn’t have said it better myself!!

I want to thank Angela again for the hundred millionth time for creating Ruby Tulip for me but most importantly for all of you! Angela is an incredible businesswoman and you can check out her latest ventures on my most recent Accessory Story. While checking out Ruby Tulip’s page on Angela’s Etsy shop, be sure to treat yourself to some more divine bath and body care goodies like her body butters and sugar scrubs – I promise you that they won’t disappoint!

The Ruby Tulip Launch is a go and I am so excited to finally be able to share it with all of you! Who plans on making a Ruby Tulip purchase? What should Angela’s and my next fragrance be called? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Pedi Party

Pedi Party

Hey everyone and happy Sunday! So yesterday I had myself a little Pedi Party with one of my favorite high school teachers and it was such fun. I had never gotten a pedicure before and was treated to it as a college graduation present. And guess what?! I didn’t even let my ticklishness get the best of me – which I unfortunately can’t say for the one and only massage that I have ever gotten!

As you guys know, I am a devout fan of my acrylic nails so you would think that I would have gotten a pedicure by now. Not the case, guys. Not the case. I guess I really just have never cared about my toes enough to pamper them. 1) They’re not pretty to look at. 2) I barely have nails worthy of painting on my tootsies. And 3) My pinkie corn chip toe is an embarrassment to mankind!

Despite the litany of ugliness that I just described, my nail tech did an amazing job of salvaging some dignity out of my toesies and left them looking so pretty! Take a look, and if you have a foot phobia: SORRY but if you have a foot fetish: YOU’RE WELCOME!

Obviously, I went with black to match my talons! :*)

All in all, the pedicure was fabulous and I had a great time spending the afternoon with my dear friend. However, I do feel like kind of an asshole because my legs were SO. HAIRY. I guess I didn’t really think to myself “Hey, Sarah – your legs are hairier than most guys right now. Maybe you should clean yourself up”. I mean obviously I didn’t because when the poor nail tech was scrubbing up my legs he was fighting against a forest of prickles! What can I say, WINTER IS MY HIBERNATION TIME and don’t think for one minute that I didn’t apologize profusely for him having to rub on woolly mammoth fur. 😉

With my tail hung between my (hairy) legs, I tamed the beast last night and now have legs as smooth and pretty as my little black seashell toenails. GREAT SUCCESS! Thank you to my wonderful friend for such a treat of an afternoon yesterday and thank you to my nail tech for putting up with me! 🙂

I hope everyone is having a fabulous day and my final questions for you are:

  • Would you rather not shave your legs for a year or not wear makeup for six months?
  • Would you rather get a hot stone massage or a mani/pedi combo?

I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Happy 21st Birthday, Best Friend!

Hellooooo everyone and happy Tuesday! Tomorrow is a very special day because it’s my darling best friend, Lea’s, 21st birthday! Lea and I have been waiting to be 21 together since our friendship began over seven years ago and now that moment is almost here! Some of my all time favorite memories have been with my sweet girl, so take a look at some cute pics and then enjoy a BFF love letter from yours truly:

Dear Lea,

Happy birthday, my pretty princess! Words can’t even describe how lucky I am to have you as my best friend. From our humble beginnings as little high school freshmen to our full on adventures as freshly turned twenty-one year olds, growing up with you by my side has been something I’m forever grateful for. I’ll never forget this one time when we were both having boy problems a year or so ago and I called you in tears. I came over to your house, we got ice cream, and we laid in bed for hours complaining about how much boys suck. But then something really cool happened – our whining turned into laughter. After we had our fill of chocolate ice cream and moping we got super silly and ended up having a blast. The fact that we can turn a not so great situation into us laughing until we cry really says a lot about our friendship. (That it’s perfect…just like us!)

Throughout our BFF saga, you have instilled such a joy for life in me that I didn’t know was possible. I am so confident that our friendship will only continue to grow and blossom and I can’t wait to see what our futures have in store for us. You are the epitome of beautiful inside and out. Not only do you have such a gorgeous heart but you’re also a real stunner too! Lucky me! 😉 I love you so much Lea, and I hope you have the best birthday in the world because you deserve nothing less! Love, Sarah ❤

I hope everyone is having an awesome day so far! Do any of you have a birthday coming up? What was your favorite birthday celebration? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! And make sure you send Miss Lea some birthday shout outs! Much love. -Sarah

There are good ships, there are bad ships….

But the best ships are friendships. Duh. My best friendship of over six years with my sweet Miss Lea is probably one of the best things that ever happened to me. I’m so lucky that we were in freshman year English class together, because it was the only class we had together during our entire high school career. Meeting her probably would have been impossible if otherwise, since we had different friend groups, lunch schedules, and extra curricular activities. In the entire duration of our friendship we’ve never had one argument, disagreement, lovers spat, quarrel, or whatever you wanna call it. We respect each other way too much to ever be hurtful to each other. I don’t think many people can say that about others. Both of us our blessed with the gift of making literally anything fun. We can lay in my bed and talk for hours on end and still find things to talk about. We’re so comfortable with each other that we can be as silly as we want and find it the most amusing thing in the world. Our next friendship milestone is finding the perfect best friend tattoos. However this is easier said than done. So if any if you have ideas for a unique friendship tattoo, please let me know! This is me publicly announcing how much I love my best friend. Here’s to a million more years of friendship!
