Pursue Your Dream Career With These Tips

Pursuing your goals to land your dream job takes dedication and hard work. There is so much that goes into following your dreams, but don’t let that stop you from making them into reality. Giving up a career to pursue something you really want should not be taken lightly, but it can be done if you have the passion and dedication for it. Here are four tips to help get you started on your journey toward a dream career:

Know Yourself & Your Goals:

Before you even begin the process of pursuing your dream job, it is important that you take some time for self-reflection. Consider what your goals are, what kind of lifestyle you want, and how this job fits into those goals. Knowing yourself and understanding your goals will help guide the decisions you make about what kind of job you want to pursue. Write down your goals and create a plan of action to achieve them; this way, you can stay motivated and focused on the path toward your dream job.

Research Companies & Industries:

Once you have a clear understanding of who you are and what your goals are, it is time to research companies and industries that align with those goals. Take some time to explore different industries and pick out specific companies that interest you. Doing this research will help give you an idea of what types of jobs these companies offer and any potential opportunities that could arise in the future. In addition, researching and familiarizing yourself with a company before applying can give you an edge over other applicants.

Build Your Network:

Networking is key when it comes to finding your dream job! Building relationships with people in the industry who may have access to job opportunities or insight into hiring processes is important. Joining professional organizations or attending networking events such as conferences or seminars is a great way to meet new people who may be able to help further your career path. In addition, utilizing social media platforms like LinkedIn can also be an effective way of connecting with potential employers or recruiters who may know about jobs that aren’t posted publicly yet.

Stay Up To Date On Trends & Industry News:

In today’s ever-evolving job market, staying up to date on industry trends and news is important to stay ahead of the competition. Subscribing to relevant publications, blogs, or newsletters can help you gain valuable insight into what’s happening in the industry. For example, if you’re interested in pursuing a career in the medical industry, you can learn a lot from Hanid Audish DO. Industry experts like this can give you a valuable look into the job market and what positions are in demand.

Pursuing your dream job can be a long process, but it is possible. By following these steps, you will be setting yourself up for success. Good luck!

Back To School: My Reoccurring Dream

Back To School: My Reoccurring Dream

Hey! I have reoccurring dreams fairly frequently and if it isn’t dreaming that I’m back to working retail or in a play and have forgotten all of my lines, then I am dreaming about going back to school. In fact, I just had the dream last night and it never fails to freak me out as soon as I wake up. Not because it’s “scary” by any means but it feels so real that I wake up really thinking that I never took a class that was essential for me to graduate!

The dream always starts out with me in the counselor’s office at Cuyahoga Community College and he or she is explaining to me that there were a few classes in grade and high school that I didn’t take and, technically, never graduated from either of them. Then, with a flash, I am back at my grade school and retaking classes and tests like my life depends on it. It’s so wild!

Last night, the dream ended with me completing grade school because I was kind of waking up. Sometimes, however, the dream will end with me finishing the high school classes too. It’s basically the dream equivalent of Adam Sandler’s “Billy Madison” but not anywhere near as fun lol. No matter how the dream ends, trust and believe that I always wake up with a start! I dream really vividly and, as soon as I am waking up, I feel like I need to rush to get ready for school.

I have been having the same reoccurring dreams for literal years and each of them have never really changed. Clearly, that doesn’t mean that I don’t feel shocked every time they happen, though! Whether they are reoccurring or a one time thing, dreams can be so crazy and I am curious about everyone else’s so feel free to answer the following prompts:

What is the craziest, scariest, or funniest dream that you have ever had? Do you have any reoccurring dreams? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Creating Your Dream Home

Creating Your Dream Home

The COVID-19 pandemic has given us more time at home than many people have ever had before – myself, included. It looks like we will still be staying in for the foreseeable future so we might as well be spending this time in what we consider a “dream home”. If you are considering to start changing things up at your place, now is the perfect time. Not only is it a good time to start spring cleaning but, I’m sure everyone’s place is in desperate need of sprucing up and rearranging after spending almost an entire year inside!

Today, we are going to examine a few ideas from big to small to help you get started on creating a dream home that you can ride out the rest of the pandemic in:

Starting From Scratch:

If you are so sick of your house that you don’t even want to be in it anymore, you could start from scratch with our biggest change of building a new home. A brand new home that is completely designed by you and your family will, without a doubt, be your dream home since you had a say in everything about it! Sit down as a family and draw sketches of what you’d like your place to look like as well as a list of must haves that you need for it to be your dream home. Take a drive with your family to find the best location for your new place and don’t forget to obtain a building permit for said location or a building permit in Mississauga if you are in the area.

Adding More Space:

If you love your house but it’s starting to feel a little cramped, a much lesser project than building from scratch would be adding some extra rooms to your home. Whether this be a back sun room, an additional floor, or a guest suite, the additions will give your family more home to enjoy while allowing all of you to space out comfortably as we continue on with our lock down lifestyles. A guest suite could also become a lucrative business if you ever choose to rent it out!

Mini Makeovers:

Going room by room and giving each one a mini makeover is a surefire way to freshen up your space without breaking the bank. Mini makeovers can range from painting the room, installing new flooring or carpets, purchasing a new statement piece of furniture, or simply swapping out the decor from different areas of your home to make it feel like new again. Come up with a dream design for each room in your house, create a budget that you are comfortable with, and see what mini makeover magic you can create.

Home improvements and renovations to get your place up to your dream standards are not only exciting but are a great way to kill some free time while in lock down. Break out a dream journal for your house and get to work on creating a space that’s perfect for you and your family.

Best Dream Ever!

Best Dream Ever!

Heyyyy everyone! So this past week I’ve been having the most god awful dreams ever – assaulted in a Taco Bell parking lot, assaulted in a mall (so many assaults!), and lots of murder. Luckily last night I had a totally amazing dream to make up for all of the shitty ones. I dreamed that I got a job as a character actor at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. It was seriously the best dream I’ve ever had and it felt SO real. As soon as I woke up I thought that my dream was my reality and I was so disappointed when I realized that I was still in my bed in lame old Ohio. But guess what? My family is vacationing at Universal Studios this August! So while I was in bed, I grabbed my iPod and Googled different careers at Universal Studios until I found the acting jobs. As I looked through the audition listings for all of the different character jobs at the amusement park, I saw that they were basically holding auditions for different characters and shows every two days. So if I’m lucky, there will hopefully be a bunch of different auditions that I can go to while my family is in the area. While looking further into the audition requirements, I was happy to find out that pretty much all you need is a one minute comedic monologue – which is easy peasy lemon squeezey! In case you guys weren’t aware, I’m a huge theater nerd and have acted in multiple shows, so a comedic monologue is no problemo. And lucky for me, I have the most perfect one in mind to brush up on if there are available audition times during my vacation. I mean really? How cool would that be to be a character actor at Universal Studios?! (Which happens to be one of my literal favorite places in the entire world!) My dream last night was just too cool to pass up a perfect opportunity to at least try my hand at an audition. I don’t think I would forgive myself if I didn’t give an audition my best shot while I just happen to be in the area – which is a whopping eighteen hours away from Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio! So why not, right? And no matter what happens, it will be an amazing experience and I’ll be able to say that I tried my absolute best!

I hope all of you are having a fabulous weekend so far! Are any of you into acting? What was the last show you performed in? Are you or someone you know a character actor at an amusement park? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
