Medieval Times OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Medieval Times OOTD!! I so enjoyed visiting The Green Dragon Inn board game bar this past weekend and am already itching to go back. It was, hands down, the coolest place in Akron that I have ever visited and I am still amazed that this gem is just a hop, skip, and a jump from me. Sadly, the lighting in the bar itself wasn’t conducive to taking OOTD shots so I had to resort to snapping pics outside. Aside from my fantastic faces, there are two glaring bloopers in these shots so take a look and let’s discuss further:

The sassiest village person from a video game. “Doth said WHAT?!”

image_50415873(7)

Lol I genuinely have no idea what’s going on here

image_50452993(7)

The hood is coming up so it’s time to embark on an adventure

image_50439169(12)

…Is the hood even on??

image_50419457(9)

AYYYY psyche it is!!!!

image_50736641(5)

I LOOK DOUBLE GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

image_50414849(4)image_50438657(5)

Did you find the bloopers I was talking about?? If you guessed “the huge wad of chewing gum on the ground” and “my sunglasses stem pointing directly at my crotch” then you are a winner!! Lmao, I have no idea how I didn’t notice these two glaring issues while I was taking these pictures, but omg was I annoyed when I was looking through them later and realized it. With something as obvious and out of place as these particular problems, I was SO close to calling this OOTD a wash. Then, I had a brain blast…

I began looking for apps where I could edit these photos and remove the rogue gum and glasses stem. However, I ran into the problem of having to pay for every app I was interested in and I just wasn’t about to do that. Cheap? Yes. Petty? Always. After lots of searching, I finally found an object removal app that was free, but it was the jankiest process known to mankind. Getting rid of the gum and glasses stem on this app called “Fixit” or something of the like took a long time of trial and error. It was a very finicky, touchy app but that’s what you get when you don’t want to pay for something. On the bright side, I only had a few photos to edit from the original post and left the blooper shots as is because, let’s be real, it’s a hell of a blooper!

The Green Dragon, gum, and glasses oh my! These pictures were definitely my wake up call to do a better check of myself and surroundings before Johnny starts snapping away!

What is your favorite photo editor app? Is there a board game bar in your neck of the woods? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Lil Red’s Book Club: Little Cruelties By Liz Nugent Edition

Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new edition of Lil Red’s Book Club! Without giving any spoilers away, as always, we are going to be discussing a thriller by Liz Nugent called Little Cruelties. This book was, hands down, the best one that I have read all year. It was so unlike anything that I have ever read before because this book was told from the perspective of three brothers. Literally all of the books I have read this year came from a female point of view so that in itself was a novelty. Before we begin our book club meeting, I will be placing a trigger warning on Little Cruelties for rape, murder, mental illness, violence, and disturbing content. Now, let’s get to it:

image_67162113

William, Brian, and Luke Drumm are three brothers from Dublin, Ireland. They were born in quick succession to their mother who is an Irish celebrity and their father, a quiet man who is fifteen years her senior. Throughout the boys’ youth and beyond, the Drumm family would participate in “little cruelties” that would leave the brothers scarred and broken in their own special way. The cruelties that the brothers would dole out to each other was far beyond typical sibling teasing and rivalries. While the father tried the best he could, the cruelties from their mom, Melissa, was in the form of negligence and abuse – particularly towards Luke.

Little Cruelties begins at a funeral for one of the Drumm brothers and explores specific incidents told from their perspective that led to that moment. There is a third of the book dedicated to each sibling and it begins with William, the eldest. William was born knowing he was better than everyone because his mom said as such. He was the clear favorite and was used to getting everything he wanted. This made him a huge success as a film producer but a menace to women who he used and abused.

Despite William’s womanizer ways, he managed to marry a wonderful woman named Susan and had a daughter with her named Daisy. No one would ever go as far as to say he was the world’s greatest dad or husband and spent a majority of his time cheating on his wife. He wasn’t overly concerned about Daisy because her godfather, Uncle Brian, loved spending time with her. William has a sharp tongue, violent temper, and insatiable lust. His comeuppance is swift, to his brother’s delight and that brings us to Luke…

Luke is the youngest of the Drumm brothers and has always been strange. His mother made it obvious that he was less than perfect William and even plain Brian while his dad tried and failed to make Luke feel special. The trauma of his upbringing turned Luke into a religious zealot at a young age and he was convinced he could heal his family through prayer and living a noble life. His mental state has always been questionable but plummeted rapidly when he found fame as a pop singer at just twenty-one years old.

As Luke experienced fame and fortune firsthand, his mental health went into a downward spiral. He began drinking and using drugs heavily, experienced hallucinations, and went from a quiet young man to a violent one. Luke became a liability to his family because there was no telling what he would do and say when he had an episode. His brother, Brian, became his agent and caretaker to keep an eye on him and attempt to keep him on the straight and narrow. It worked sometimes and when it didn’t, the results were catastrophic. To learn more about Luke, you need to know more about Brian whose tale begins after a particularly high note for his youngest brother…

Brian is the middle Drumm brother and is considered the family “loser”. He is of average height, build, and looks and was constantly reminded as such in his youth. While William and Luke both found specific callings in their lives, Brian floated. He ended up in Paris as a teacher and not a good one. His attempt at a career ended up blowing up in his face, leaving him broke and homeless. As Luke toured in Paris, he met his brother there at his lowest and offered him a job. This turned Brian into Luke’s constant caretaker, but an overall good thing for both of them – for a while.

Thanks to Brian’s work as Luke’s agent, he was able to make money and more importantly, connections. He began working with other artists, singers, and activists but his biggest prize was becoming the agent for Daisy. This was an extra special “F you” to William and Susan and Brian orchestrated it to perfection. For all of Brian’s lack of success, one thing he was excellent at was holding a grudge. Little Cruelties begins and ends at a funeral. Which brothers are attending and which one is in the coffin? Read the book to find out!

Little Cruelties was a fascinating, devastating read and I devoured it. As I mentioned before, it was so different from other books I’ve read and Liz Nugent’s writing set the stage beautifully. She created a dark and atmospheric space to read about a family’s demise and I couldn’t stop turning the page to save my own life. Obviously, each brother was SO messed up in their own way but I loved being able to read it in their own words rather than the perspective of a wife or girlfriend.

If you read Little Cruelties, then I am sure you experienced similar sentiments to me about each Drumm boy; A burning dislike of William, sympathy for Luke, and a slightly less than burning dislike of Brian. The only difference between William and Brian was that William was forthright in his awfulness while Brian played his cards close to his chest. Knowing about each of Luke’s siblings and upbringing made him even more tragic and his illness not only understandable but expected.

The plot of Little Cruelties was excellent, yes, but the way it was set up was what made it my favorite book of the year. I thought it was so unique that William, Luke, and Brian’s portion of the book all featured the exact same stories in the exact same order. It was like Liz Nugent was writing you a map to figure out the grand reveal and I did. Every single chapter mixed with a bit of good old fashioned detective work told you everything you needed to know. You just needed to know where to look for it and even though I did tie all of the pieces together, I didn’t even care. Little Cruelties was that good.

Little Cruelties doesn’t deserve a ten out of ten which is why I am rating it with a twenty out of ten stars. This book was haunting and will completely break your heart. If you are up for the ride, then I cannot recommend it enough!

What are you currently reading? What should I read next? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Linguine With Sun Dried Tomato Cream Sauce

Howdy!! Johnny and I finally went grocery shopping this past week and I could not wait to try out some new recipes. I am planning on doing a Chipotle taste alike meal this weekend and I am most excited for that! During the week days, however, I am always looking for recipes that are easy to make with a limited amount of ingredients. My original plan for a meal this past week was to make sun dried tomato, spinach, and ricotta stuffed shells. Unfortunately, jumbo shells weren’t available at the grocery store, but I bought the ingredients anyways thinking the filling would still be good over linguine.

Later that evening, however, I began to pivot as I was fearful that the filling wouldn’t have enough sauce to coat the noodles with. I decided to start searching for a sun dried tomato sauce that would use some of the ingredients that I already had. After lots of scrolling through Pinterest, I found a recipe for a Sun Dried Tomato Cream Sauce by Midwest Foodie that I thought would work. The end result was, sadly, one that I was not pleased with. Let’s discuss:

image_50435073(8)image_50743553(2)

The Sun Dried Tomato Cream Sauce recipe was an incredibly easy one to make. All I needed to do was blend the tomatoes, oil from the jar, and garlic in a food processor. After everything was blended to a pesto like texture, I put it in a pan with more oil from the tomato jar and let it cook for about a minute. Herbs and vegetable stock came next and once that mixture had a chance to simmer, all that was left was to add the cheese and heavy cream. I followed the instructions to the letter and the only things I changed was using dried parsley instead of fresh and grated Parmesan instead of shredded.

This meal took me about thirty minutes to make and I was really excited to try it. I wanted to like it so badly and Johnny and I both agreed that it was good, but not great. The flavors in this sauce were fairly subtle and they didn’t pack as much of a punch as I would have liked. Granted, this might be due to the fact that I didn’t have fresh parsley or shaved Parmesan. This wasn’t a huge deal and could be fixed with some additional seasoning. The biggest issue was the sauce’s consistency. It was very, very thin and runny. Was it because I didn’t use the shaved Parm? Who’s to say? But, I don’t think it would have made that big of a difference.

I expect this sauce to thicken in the fridge and I’ll add more seasoning to it as I heat it up on the stove top for leftovers. I think that will help a lot, but I do not plan on making this Midwest Foodie recipe again. It’s always disappointing when a new recipe doesn’t go accordingly to plan, but it was fun to cook something brand new!

Have you tried any new recipes recently? How did they turn out? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

New Glitter Gold & Ruby Nails

New Glitter Gold & Ruby Nails

Hello!! This past week hasn’t been the best for yours truly so it was super nice to take a pause on Tuesday afternoon to get my nails done. I needed a new full set in the worst way and, as always, my nail tech hooked it up! Prior to my appointment, my acrylics felt dangerously close to a break with one wrong move. Now, they feel sturdy and durable and look amazing too. I am loving the glitter color combo I selected and my claws look perfect for the holiday season! Check it out:

image_50424321(12)image_50415361(8)

When I get my nails done around the winter holidays, I like to do something seasonal without being too obvious about it. I have never been one for nail art (way too expensive!) and the only holiday I go all out for is Halloween. To give a subtle tip of the cap to the holiday season, I wanted to steer clear of the traditional red and green motif. That’s not to say that red couldn’t be in the color palette, however, and I opted for a gorgeous glitter ruby and gold, instead. The ruby red had me feeling all of The Wizard of Oz vibes a la Dorothy’s slippers and the gold was like tinsel for a Christmas tree. This color combo feels festive without being too in your face about it and that is exactly what I was going for.

I spent a wonderful almost two hours at Elysian Nails getting all of the pampering done. It always takes a bit longer when I get a full set because soaking my nails off beforehand is an absolute must. I am a huge baby and I cannot stand it when my nails are taken off without a soak. It hurts!! Once my nails were soaked off, it was so weird to see my real nails beneath the acrylics. At this point, acrylics are my real nails so that will forever come as a shock lol. Thankfully, it wasn’t long until my nail tech created brand new nails for me and she crushed. They are strong, shaped to perfection, and I couldn’t be happier with the end result!

These Glitter Gold & Ruby Nails are about as festive as it gets for Lil Red, but I would be a liar if I said they didn’t make me think of Christmas every time I look at them. I can’t wait to celebrate with my family! ❤

Do you get nail art when you get your nails done? How do you incorporate the holiday season into your personal style? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Medieval Times OOTD

Medieval Times OOTD

Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new OOTD here on lifewithlilred! As you read yesterday, I visited a board game bar this past weekend called The Green Dragon Inn. It is my new favorite place in Akron and was decorated like a Medieval tavern. I am still amazed that this gorgeous space exists not even twenty minutes away from me! It took a minute, but I had the perfect cardigan in mind to wear for this outing and I love the look that I created with it. Let’s take a gander and discuss further:

image_50769665(3)image_50459905(3)image_6487327(27)image_6487327(26)

Who? What? Wear?

Chain Pattern Cardigan: MaxSport LA, TJMaxx

Cami Top: mittoshop, French Rooster

Skinny Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters

Heeled Boots: Candie’s, Kohl’s

The earrings were a gift from my aunt and the necklace is from the Goodwill!

I had seen pictures of The Green Dragon Inn before our outing and wanted to style an atmospheric look to mesh with the wonderful setting. The initial planning phase of my Medieval Times OOTD had me going through multiple different options. I was thinking faux fur for a while, but I literally just created an OOTD with a faux fur accent and knew I had to pivot. As I continued to rack my brains, I remembered a fabulous longer cardigan by MaxSport LA and couldn’t believe I didn’t think of it right away!

I loved this cardigan for my visit to The Green Dragon for several reasons. The pattern, first and foremost, was ideal for the setting. The regal color palette of black, red, and gold felt like a nod to way back when and the chain pattern reminded me of a suit of armor. The shape of this cardigan also helped match the vibe as it fit more like a robe and had a hood. This little MaxSport number had me feeling like a video game character come to life and that is exactly what I wanted.

Since the cardigan was so bold and offered a lot of length, I kept the rest of the look sleek and simple. This was the best way to go because another pattern or even texture had the potential to overpower this outfit in the worst way. For my top, I chose one of my go to camis from French Rooster to add a feminine touch with the lace and show some skin as I was almost completely covered up. Prior to settling for a pair of plain black skinnies, I actually had on my coated pair by Seven Jeans. However, their sheen really clashed with the soft cloth motif that I was already working with on top and swapped them out. See, sleek and simple was definitely the way to go!

Finally, it was onto shoes and accessories. For my shoes, I put on a pair of heeled thigh high boots by Candie’s. These boots are old as dirt, but they are one of my favorite pairs and I felt like they embodied the “video game character IRL” aesthetic I was building. Granted, an adventurer probably wouldn’t wear heels, but you all get the point. Jewelry was next and I knew I wanted to incorporate a necklace so I selected a small pair of ruby red dangly hearts to keep from jewelry overload. For my necklace, I went with an amazing pendant I found from the Goodwill as a teen. You can’t tell, but it features a portrait of George Washington crossing the Delaware River lol. This pendant or amulet, if you will, tied my look together and I was ready to enter into the realm of The Green Dragon. 😀

A bit of trial and error went into styling my Medieval Times OOTD, but it was well worth the effort. I wanted to create a character look to wear to The Green Dragon Inn and I think I nailed it!

What is your favorite video game? How about your favorite video game character? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Why You Should Embrace Your Inner Child

Standard
Why You Should Embrace Your Inner Child

Adulthood was once considered the time to ‘put away childish things’ as a famous poet once wrote. But why? There are so many benefits to embracing your inner child that we should all be making more time to get back into the kid headspace more often. Let’s discuss:

Laughter is the Best Medicine (and It’s Free!):

Remember when you used to laugh so hard that milk would shoot out of your nose? Okay, maybe don’t aim for the nose-milk part, but laughter really is good for you, and science says so, so there (see I’m getting childish already). It relieves stress, boosts your mood, and even burns calories. So go ahead, watch that cartoon, giggle at silly jokes, and let your laugh be as loud and unapologetic as a child’s.

Playtime Isn’t Just for Kids:

Play isn’t just for the under-10s; it’s a crucial part of being a happy, well-rounded adult too. Yes, really! Okay, so what does this play look like? This could mean anything from board games and sports to arts and crafts, or maybe even building up an army of your favorite collectible toys and letting them battle it out whenever you need to de-stress. Speaking of stress, ever tried adult coloring books? They’re like therapy, but with more crayons and less awkward silences.

Curiosity Didn’t Kill the Cat; It Made Life More Interesting:

Kids are curious about everything, and somehow, as adults, we lose that. Well, now it’s time to reignite your curiosity. Ask questions, explore, and try new things. It keeps life interesting and your brain engaged. Remember, it’s never too late to learn how to play the guitar or speak another language. Unless it’s Klingon. Maybe draw the line at Klingon. This will keep you feeling young, but more importantly, it will keep your brain healthy as you get older, too.

Emotions: Feel Them All:

Kids feel their emotions deeply and aren’t afraid to show them. As adults, we often bottle things up, and this is not, for the most part, a good thing. It’s okay to be vulnerable, to feel sad, happy, or even throw a good old-fashioned tantrum (preferably not in the middle of a supermarket, though).

Imagination: More Valuable Than You Think:

Our imagination seems to shrink as we age, but it’s one of our most powerful tools. Use it! Dream big, think creatively in your job, or just daydream about being a pirate. Imagination adds color to the mundane grayness of adult life.

Say Yes to Adventure:

Remember when a simple trip to the park felt like an adventure? Bring that feeling back. Be spontaneous, say yes to new experiences, and see where life takes you. It’s about making memories, not just to-do lists.

Your hair might be grey and your knees might ache like never before, but that doesn’t mean you can’t embrace the child within every day!

The Green Dragon Inn Board Game Bar

Hello everyone!! This past weekend I checked out a new board game bar in Akron called The Green Dragon Inn with Johnny, my brother, and our friend Ty. I have been itching to go since I saw posts on Facebook about it because it looked so awesome – exactly like a Medieval tavern and it did not disappoint. The space itself was beautiful, our waitress was most helpful and delightful, and the game we played per her suggestion was a hoot. A wonderful time was had by all and we cannot wait to go back! Take a look at some pics and let’s get to it:

image_50450945(9)image_50458881(7)image_50724865(3)image_67226625(1)image_50446337(5)image_50433537(8)image_67226881image_50387969(6)image_50406657(6)image_50442497(9)image_67200513(1)image_50733313(3)

The Green Dragon Inn sits on top of the second floor of a game store called Full Grip that is run by the same people. It is such a fantastic concept because you can go shopping for new games and play them at The Inn when you are done or test it out if they have the game available in their collection. After we browsed at Full Grip for a while, we made our way to The Green Dragon and were simply blown away. It was like walking into a movie set or something! The furnishing and decor instantly transported us to times of old and I was so impressed that this amazing space was in Akron. It felt like somewhere we would go if we were on a vacation!

Before we settled in our booth, our waitress gave us a tour of The Inn. There is a huge book shelf behind the bar filled with games and a moving ladder like in Beauty and The Beast. However, that is by no means their only selection. They have over eight hundred games to pick from and you can look through their website to narrow it down based on number of players, difficulty, and type of game. We all loved the “dungeon room” with the huge chandelier but the “secret room” was the best of all. This room is expertly hidden behind a bookshelf and it was just so neat to see something like that in real life. If I had all of the money in the world, a room like that would be my first order of business in a new house. 😀

After we were done exploring The Inn, we opted for recommendations for games from our waitress. We weren’t aware of the website we could have looked at beforehand to pick games out and didn’t want to spend time scrolling through it. Our waitress knocked it out of the park with the handful of games she returned with and gave us demonstrations of each game too. We decided to play Concept thanks to her guidance and oddly enough, Johnny and I have that game at home and have never played it! Granted, we never had enough people for it and also I think we both forgot about it lol. Concept was like Pictionary in board game form and it was perfect for our group. The rules were easy to understand and it was a game we would happily play again. In fact, we plan on bringing it to play on Christmas with our families!

As soon as we entered The Green Dragon Inn, we all knew that this was a place we would be returning back to. It’s safe to say that we have never seen anything like it before and we had the best time gaming and enjoying the atmosphere that has been so beautifully created!

Do you have a similar place to The Green Dragon Inn in your neck of the woods? What is your favorite game to play? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Gifts Of Experience Ideas

Gifts Of Experience Ideas

Hello!!! It is definitely crunch time for finishing holiday shopping and that can be a difficult place to be. Stores are probably picked over, perhaps some gifts won’t arrive on time for a celebration, or you have no idea what to get someone. But, fear not because there is a solution! We’re talking about the gift of experience. Gifts of experience are an amazing way to go if you are in a bind or are shopping for someone who has everything. Let’s take a look at some ideas to get you started:

Art Classes:

Whether you’re young or old, it’s always fun to try something new and that can be done with art classes. It could be pottery, watercolor, sketching, even glass blowing! No matter what form of art you choose, it will provide a brand new experience for your giftee and that is the whole point. You could even take the class with your giftee for some extra quality time. This is a great option for adults and kids alike and you might just be introducing them to their new favorite hobby.

Gym Membership:

If your giftee has a passion for fitness, why not pay for a month or two of a gym membership? It could be to their own gym or a new one if they don’t have a set place. Most gym memberships include being able to take the classes being offered so you could join in as a guest too! While this is a gift that is more geared for adults, it can be tweaked for kids too. Maybe they want to take swim lessons or a little movers class? The gym can help with that! This is a perfect gift with New Year’s Resolutions being right around the corner!

Scent-sational:

How about some pampering for your giftee? There are lots of specialty boutiques that can help you create your own signature scent for a candle or bath and body care. This is an ideal option for someone on your list who appreciates the finer things in life or who lives for a trip to Bath & Body Works. Bath and body care is always a popular choice for presents and making your own puts a unique twist on a classic gift. I would love something like this!

Date Night:

Do you have any couples on your holiday shopping list? Treating them to a date night will be a huge hit! This could be anything from a nice dinner out to a ballroom dancing class or tickets to a play. You can also make a date night in kit if you can’t find anything out and about that would strike the fancy of your giftees. This could include a bottle of wine and some new board games, a grocery store gift card to cook a meal together, or a few months of a streaming service to watch all of their favorite shows. Whichever way you go, this is a thoughtful gift for the couples in your life.

Body Mods:

There is nothing quite like the experience of a new piercing or tattoo! If there is someone on your list who has an affinity for body mods, then I cannot stress enough how well a gift card to their favorite tattoo or piercing shop will go over. You will have won the holiday celebration, period. Lol, this is coming from my personal opinion as a gal with more tattoos than she can count. Nay, I am a personal expert because I know for a fact your body modded giftee will be psyched!

Gifts Of Experience are a fun take on traditional holiday presents and are a surefire way to go if you are experiencing shopping stress. These gifts are also a lovely way to show that you are actively listening when your giftee talks to you about their hobbies and interests!

What is a gift of experience you have received? Are you all done with your holiday shopping? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

A Lil Red Update

A Lil Red Update

Helloooo darlings! Is it just me or have these past few months been crazy? I feel like I have been going nonstop and am so looking forward to Christmas break even though I literally just took time off for Thanksgiving lol. Even though I have been on the move between all of my jobs and I am exhausted, it hasn’t been bad at all! In fact, I have made quite a few changes to my work schedule and have been enjoying it – even though this change requires me to get up at three AM a few mornings during the work week. 😮 So early, I know but so worth it!

Since October I have been providing transportation to one of my old clients to take him to work. I pick him up at seven thirty in the morning, but that doesn’t mean that I can sleep in until I have to leave. After lots of mental math, I realized that I would need to get up at three for my morning to go like usual. Get up, work out, take care of the bunnies, shower, take the buns out to play, write, and work from home for my other job for two hours. After all of this, it takes me to seven o’clock when I have to leave.

The mornings are a doozy, for sure, but I have so loved seeing my old client again that I don’t even care. What’s even better is that our day together doesn’t end once we get to his job because I have recently became his job coach too! I got my job coaching certification a few years ago for another client and, unfortunately, it fell through. I never sought out another client for that particular aspect of my job so it was most exciting for the opportunity to give it a shot. I like to think I’m rocking it, but my client takes the cake and it has been a great experience for both of us. 🙂

My work in the field isn’t the only thing that has been keeping me busy busy because online work has been nuts too. Gotta love peak advertising season! Between lifewithlilred, my job as an in house writer for a tech entrepreneur, and potentially creating a podcast with a local celebrity, it’s safe to say that I have had a lot of quality time with my computer. It’s a lot, yes, but once again it is extremely fulfilling and I am thrilled with all of the ways that my different jobs have been taking off. I feel so proud of myself and it keeps me motivated to keep working hard to achieve even more of my goals.

With all of these changes to my work schedule, I am patting myself on the back and giving myself an “attagirl” for being all done with my holiday shopping! I knew there was a reason that I started around August because it’s one less thing I have to worry about now. Well… Except for wrapping everything lol but, otherwise, it’s a wrap. I can’t wait to keep working my hardest until my holiday break and hope the new year starts just as strong!

What has been going on in your wonderful world? How has work been going for you? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Thanksgiving Pt. 2 OOTD Bloopers

Helloooo everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Thanksgiving Pt. 2 OOTD! For Thanksgiving, I had four days off in total and it was absolutely magnificent. I cannot remember the last time I had that much time off in a row – probably not since we vacationed in the Poconos over two years ago! It was basically a Thanksgiving miracle, but it was SO hard to get back to work come Monday. I feel like I went through most of the week half asleep lol. During this OOTD shoot, however, I was wide awake because holy shit was it cold haha check it out:

Back in the day when I was ice skating a lot, I would say that I had a very high tolerance to cold weather. I was so used to it that it never really phased me. Fast forward to when I have not skated in forever and any semblance of tolerance to the cold has flown out the window. Whatever the weather, I will never stop shooting OOTD content. Having said that, these Thanksgiving photo shoots were freaking miserable! Not only was the temperature frigid, but it was windy as all get out and made things so much worse. It was the kind of cold that literally just goes right through you.

Speaking of being cold, it is forever freezing in my apartment compliments of my sweet husband. ❤ Johnny runs hot both in looks and temperature wise. Myself, on the other hand, am a huge freeze baby. We are constantly turning our thermostat up and down, much to each other’s displeasure. While I never back down from a challenge, I have admitted defeat in the Great Thermostat Battle of 2023 because I cannot win! That’s not to say that the cold apartment doesn’t have its perks because there is one… I put my freezing hands and feet on Johnny and lovingly remind him that he is doing it to himself. How adorable are we? 😉

I don’t miss the scorching days of summer, but I would be elated if I could transport to a 70s and sunny location right about now. I guess I’ll make do with make believe as I wrap myself in yet another blanket SMH!

What is winter weather like in your neck of the woods? What is your perfect temperature? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
