The Updates That Will Take Your Bedroom From Drab To Fab

The Updates That Will Take Your Bedroom From Drab To Fab

I am a firm believer in everyone having an amazing bedroom that reflects their personality or their interests. For example, I am a lover of all things fashion and I wanted my room to have a boutique style feel with all of the clothing, shoes, and accessories that I love on display for all to see. Not only does it make me feel like I’m in a giant walk in closet but, I have to admit, it’s nice to have my friends admire all of my favorite things as if they were in a chic little New York shop! Here are some tips for making your room the best that it can be and totally, uniquely you.

The Updates That Will Take Your Bedroom From Drab To Fab:

When you look around your bedroom, you should love what you see. It should be a space that’s comfortable, cozy, and totally appealing. Your bedroom is the place that you start and end the day in, which is why it’s so important for it to be a space that you love. Believe it or not, our surroundings have a big impact on our happiness and moods, hence why it’s so crucial to have a well-designed bedroom.

Decorating your bedroom should not just be jamming a few pieces of furniture into the room and calling it quits; it’s about creating a space that is smart and stylish. It should also be somewhere that you actually enjoy spending time in. If your bedroom is lacking a sophisticated and stylish design, it’s time to change that. The updates listed below should help you to take your boring, dreary bedroom and turn it into a space that you look forward to spending time in.

The first step to revamping your room is to consider what style you would like to decorate your bedroom in. Have you always dreamed of having a hotel-style bedroom that’s luxurious and elegant? Do you love the idea of a pretty pastel-hued room? Perhaps you’re a big fan of rose gold and pink? Before you start designing the space, you should know what type of look you would like to create. If you’re unsure about which style would work well in your bedroom, it’s a good idea to take the time to get inspired. Flick through home design magazines, read interior design blogs, and use sites like We Heart It for ideas.

Once you’ve decided on what type of style you would like to design the room in, the next step is to focus on the walls. Do you have any preference over how you decorate the walls? Does the idea of matte paint sound more appealing than sheer paint? Would you prefer to use wallpaper to decorate? Take the time to think about your wall decoration choices to establish the best option is for you. If you like the idea of using paint but want to add a pop of pattern, consider adding an accent wall with wallpaper. It’s amazing how much difference a feature wall can make to the look and feel of a space.

It’s best to leave laying new flooring until after the painting has been completed. Otherwise, you could end up accidentally staining your new flooring. When it comes to selecting the perfect type of flooring for your room, it’s a case of working out what is most practical. For bedrooms, carpet can be a good option because it’s soft and gives a cozy feel. However, if you’re someone who is prone to spilling things, hard flooring might be a better option. If you’re worried about the room feeling too cold, you could always add an area rug or could invest in underfloor heating. A major benefit of hard flooring is that it tends to be longer lasting than carpet, making it a better value for your money.

The furniture that you choose for your room will depend on your sense of style, as well as your budget. You may need to reuse old pieces of furniture from your bedroom if money is tight. Or, if you have a large budget, then you might choose to replace your old furniture with new pieces. The most important thing is to choose pieces that work well with the design style of the space, as well as with each other. Of all the furniture that you invest in, the bed (and mattress) is the most important part. This is because, in any bedroom, the bed should always be the focal point. When it comes to choosing the perfect bed and mattress, it’s a good idea to read up using resources like the Tempur bed and mattress guide, for example. It’s also worth looking on sites like Pinterest for frame inspiration.

Last but not least, focus on the accessories for your bedroom. These are just as important as all of the other features when it comes to transforming a dreary space into a fabulous one. Take the design style of the room into account and pick out accessories that will enhance the space and make it look and feel more stylish. Think area rugs, bedding, cushions, wall art, lighting, mirrors, and ornaments. The more creative you can be with this, the better.

Major Mistakes Everyone Makes With The Exterior Of Their Home

Major Mistakes Everyone Makes With The Exterior Of Their Home

There are so many articles on the internet about interior design. Tips on things like what colors to use, what fabrics are on trend, and the type of furniture to pick. It’s no wonder that sometimes we forget all about the outside of our homes.

It is easy to think that the architect and builders had responsibility for that part and now that we live there, we just don’t have to worry about it. Of course, this is completely untrue! We need to think about the exterior just as much as the interior. Read on to make sure that you don’t make the common mistakes that most people do when looking after the outside of their homes.

What Counts as Outside? Okay, this seems like a silly question, but some people just think of the outside of the home as the exterior walls. But that isn’t the case. The exterior is everything that you own that is on the outside, so walls, gardens, drives, and roofs are all included in this category.

Don’t Forget to Paint the Outer Walls: Having said that, let’s look at the walls first. If they are in poor state, it is going to make your home seem run down. That is why it’s important to regularly check the aesthetic appearance and condition of all of the outer walls. If they are structurally sound but looking a bit grim, then you can give them a fresh coat of paint. Refreshing the paint is a fabulous way of looking after the exterior of your home. Not only does it look nice but it also protects the walls from weather damage, too.

If painting isn’t an option and you want to retain the natural stone or bricks of your home, then you can have the walls cleaned. This is usually done with high-pressure steam jets and can be expensive. But it does have the marvelous result of making your old home seem brand new, without losing any of it’s character.

Don’t Ignore Regular Roof Maintenance: It’s also vital that you keep on top of any roofing services that needs to be done. Loose slates and tiles can be dangerous for your family and visitors. A shabby roof can make the whole property look a mess, not to mention they can let in water and cause dampness in the interior of the house. Speak to your local roofing services specialist to see if your roof needs some urgent TLC. A search for “Roofing contractor in Clinton Twp, MI” or your local area will help you find a professional to come and take a look.

Make the Windows Sparkle: One thing that few people love to do is clean the windows, especially when they have to do this outside as well as this inside. But think about it. The outsides windows are what come into contact with the must debris, dust, and rain so they are much more likely to be dirty. If you simply can’t bring yourself to do both sets, inquire about a local window cleaner with a reasonable rate. Then they can help you keep the outside of your home as attractive as possible.

How To Create An Amazing Den In Your Home

How To Create An Amazing Den In Your Home

Everyone needs a great getaway spot in their home. Whether it be for hunkering down and studying for the next big exam or a place to chillax and binge on America’s Next Top Model – an at home hideaway is a must. This article will provide you with some pointers to making your den (or man or ladies cave!) perfect.

How To Create An Amazing Den In Your Home:

As kids, who didn’t love building a fort with chairs and blankets and creating the ultimate hideaway? It was even better if you could decorate it with fairy lights and take in secret snacks too! But just because we’re grown-ups doesn’t mean we don’t still crave that little luxury hideaway where we can go and relax. And if you’ve got kids, even better. Why not create a den room where all of the family can chill? If you have a spare room that’s just being filled with clutter, why not convert the space into a family-friendly den? Below are some ideas on how to get started.

Think About The Space: If you’re using a spare room to make your luxury den, it’s probably smaller than your living room. First, take some time to think about how to use the space. Ask yourself what is important to you and the family? If it’s a place where you want to host movie nights and go to watch TV, then make that your focal point. If you would rather create a den that is made for reading and writing, then think about incorporating good lighting and storage for lots of books and notepads. Perhaps your den is going to be a playroom for young and old. If so, then consider investing in some drawers and cupboards so you can keep board games and card games organized and tidy.

Make It Cozy: A den is all about creating an environment that induces relaxation and fun. Invest in luxury throws and blankets so people can get down and cozy. A couple of oversized Sack Daddy’s will also give the space a laid back ‘den vibe’. Take a look here at www.sackdaddy.com/pages/cozy-sac to discover how these awesome extra large loungers will make your den the ultimate space for relaxation and respite. Bean bag chairs are also great for the kids, too!

If your den is going to predominantly be a reading room, then make sure you have bright overhead lighting. But if it’s strictly for hunkering down for movie nights, ensure that you have lights on a dimmer switch or the soft glow of side lamps. Fairy lights will add extra ambiance and create a magical feel. If you’ve got kids make them feel grown up by investing in a mini fridge where you can keep water and juices that they can get when they are with their friends. And if it’s adults only, you can chill your Champagne in here before settling down for a Saturday night movie! A den should be decadent but cozy. Somewhere you can kick off your shoes, put your PJ’s on, and totally unwind!

Décor Of the Den: If you’re making a family den, let everyone get involved in the decorating. Let the kids be in charge of one of the walls. This could include allowing them to paint the wall in their favorite color. Or perhaps adding oversized wall decor stickers of their favorite animals. Check out Amazon have some great ones right here: www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=wall+decor+stickers. Choose a color theme that exudes relaxation. Soft grays or warm shades of red will work well. Let everyone pitch in with decorating the room and make it a place where everyone will want to snuggle down for the evening.

I am absolutely obsessed with Despicable Me and my boyfriend got me minion wall stickers for my birthday! They are so cute and add the perfect touch of fun to my room. The stickers were surprisingly easy to apply and look as good as new after months of being on my walls.

What would be in your dream den? If you have a den or decked out basement in your house, what do you use it primarily for? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Amazing DIY Tips Every Homeowner Needs To Know

Amazing DIY Tips Every Homeowner Needs To Know

Here’s a fun little post for all of my DIY-ers, Pinterest royalty, and crafting gods! As for me? I’ll stick to my handyman! 😉

Amazing DIY Tips Every Homeowner Needs To Know:

As a homeowner, you may have considered doing the odd couple of DIY projects. Even if you aren’t a very crafty person, you may have been swayed to dabble with some DIY just because it can be a major money saver! The world is your oyster in the world of DIY. You could simply fix some old furniture that needs repairing. Or you might have bought some shelves that need putting up. Once you get super confident in your DIY skills, you may even start to make your own furniture! However you want to use DIY in your home, here are some tips that can help you do a great job every time!

Invest In Top Quality Equipment: If you want to do a really good job in all of your DIY projects and tasks, you will need excellent equipment. This means that you might have to pay a bit more to get the best tools out there in the shops. It may be slightly expensive, but it will certainly be worth it! The better quality tools and equipment will also last for a lot longer compared to cheaper ones. Not sure which tools are the best to buy? See here for great benchtop bandsaw reviews. You’ll find plenty more reviews for other tools online.

Keep Your Old CDs: You may just stream your music online these days but that isn’t an excuse to throw out all of your old CDs. In fact, you should keep them and use them in your home decorating. You can break up the CDs themselves and create cool murals with them. These funky murals can be used throughout your home but will look especially good in a room that gets a lot of attention as a great conversation starter. Got a whole load of old CDs? Repurpose them as some dumbbells to use in your workouts! 😉

Sketch Out Plans: No matter what your latest DIY project may be, you should always sketch out a brief plan. This can help you envisage the finished result or product. The sketch doesn’t have to be too detailed or artistic. Just as long as it gives you a clear idea of how you plan on using all the materials. If you are simply redecorating a room, sketching can come in handy, too. This will give you a chance to carefully consider the use of space and lighting so neither affects your design too much.

Hang At The Right Height: Do you have some photographs or paintings that you want to hang on your walls? Then you need to make sure that these are hung at the right height. Otherwise, they might look odd compared to the rest of your decor. Ideally, the center of each piece needs to be at eye level. This is usually around sixty inches above the ground. If the ceilings in a room are particularly high, you can afford to hang your artworks slightly higher.

DIY should never be too tasking. And all of these tips should make it even easier! You may never have to hire a handyman to do your household jobs again!

Where are all of my DIY fans at? What was the latest thing that you have crafted? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Give Your Home a Bit of Retail Therapy

Give Your Home a Bit of Retail Therapy

My family has been trying to remodel room by room for the past couple of years. We have been in my home for over twelve years (I think!) and it is always fun to change and rearrange as time goes by. These tips might prove helpful for you if you are in a home renovation process similar to mine!

Give Your Home a Bit of Retail Therapy:

A bit of retail therapy is always great so now it is time to treat your home. There is plenty that needs to be sorted out when it comes to buying for your home. Think about the areas that matter the most or that really need to be improved on. Making a list of what projects you want to prioritize is an excellent first step in the remodeling process.

We’ve Got You Covered: You should think about what you’re going to use to cover the home. The exterior of the property is really important and is going to be exposed to the elements constantly. You need to choose the right material to cover your home with and be aware of all of the different options that are offered. That’s why it’s important to look at alternatives to wood or brick. Vinyl exteriors are really great because it’s cost-effective and low-maintenance. And it leaves your property looking picture perfect as well. It’s also one of the more eco-friendly modern alternatives for the home these days.

Kitchen Makeover: The kitchen, they say, is the heart of the home. And that’s why it’s important to try to make your kitchen as awesome as possible. Sometimes this might involve going for a kitchen makeover. But, other times this might involve actually buying a brand new kitchen. So, you need to make sure you assess how you can improve it, and then set about making those alterations. You’ll probably find that by choosing an open plan kitchen design you maximize space and you improve the general aesthetic. If you’re looking to sell your home at some point, you’re going to need a revamp of the kitchen

The tiles in this pic are almost identical to the ones in my kitchen!

Double Glazing: If you don’t already have double glazing at home, this is something that you might want to focus on. It’s very difficult to imagine a home these days without double glazing. Although, if you live in a listed property, you won’t be able to do this. Double glazing presents many advantages to your home. The two main ones being added security and better energy efficiency. You will save money in the long run by going with double glazing. It is one of the best investments a homeowner can make. And you need to think about what sort of double glazing you want to go with. First decide where you’ll use it – you probably want to go for all the windows in the home, and maybe the back door as well. You should also make a decision between wood effect, and uPVC for your double glazing.

Outdoor Additions: In your garden, you may decide that you want to create a garden path. In order to do this, you’re going to have to make sure that you choose the right materials for it. You don’t just want a dirt path going up to the house because this may be messy and won’t look as nice. A lot of people like to use gravel and stones, which is fine. But, wood chips would be even better. There are many advantages of using wood chips in the garden. For one thing, they are light and inexpensive alternatives to gravel. But, as a bonus, they are organic and benefit your soil immensely. You can enjoy bio-dynamic gardening by making full use of wood chips in your garden and pathways.

Looking after your home is really important and a big part of this is treating it to some retail therapy. Therefore, it is crucial to make purchases that will help to improve the home and that are sensible, attractive, and long lasting.

How To Create A Chic And Sleek Home Office

How To Create A Chic And Sleek Home Office

How To Create A Chic And Sleek Home Office:

If you have an extra room in the house that is used just for junk, clear that clutter now and make way for a chic and sleek home office instead. Whether you work from home or not, an office is a great place to hide away when you have extra weekend work or when you want a quiet spot to go through the bills. But there’s no point in just jamming in a desk and chair and calling it an office. If you’re going to do it, you might as well do it with some panache! Here are some ideas to get you started. For more interior design tips follow this click!

Link to photo

Style: First of all, consider the style of the office you want. Do you want a more masculine, industrial feel? Or perhaps a monochrome palette? Maybe you want a girlie office of pinks and whites or possibly a more vintage/crafting kind of space. It’s important to know what you want before you start laying the floor, painting walls, and buying storage. Use Pinterest to find lots of ideas and don’t be afraid to shop around on multiple different websites or stores if you are looking for an eclectic aesthetic. If you would prefer a more uniform look, it might be a good idea to stick with an option like Vincent and Barn to find everything you need in one place.

Flooring: Once you’ve cleared the room of clutter, you’ll have a clean slate to work with. The first thing to do is invest in new flooring. Carpet just doesn’t feel right for an office. The floor should lend itself to the sound of your snappy heels crossing the boards in a way that screams authority and control! Laminate floors that look and feel like wood are a great and affordable choice for your home office. Light grey authentic oak laminate looks particularly plush when creating a working environment. You’ll find plenty of options to match your style and budget when you shop laminate flooring for designs that suit your space. Plus, if you want to add some warmth or texture you can also invest in a patterned rug to soften the look.

Walls: If you’re going for an industrial look, you’ll want a darker palette of stylish deep grays or navy for the walls. A monochrome palette will look fresh with black and white striped wallpaper. And for a feminine office why not paint the walls white and use a floral motif wallpaper on a feature wall? Designers Guild offers some great choices of wallpaper in all sorts of styles.

Desk Space: Again, what desk you choose will depend on your style. But no matter what your theme, Ikea does some great tables that work with nearly every style. The Ikea Glasholm/Finvard tempered glass table with wooden legs and extra storage is a pretty good bet for most office spaces. It looks light and airy, and the two bottom leg shelves can be used to store a printer or boxes of documents. Choose a chair that you feel most comfortable working from. Make sure the height is correct and that there is enough room to move around. And don’t forget to choose a desk lamp that gives you enough light for when you are working late. Personalize your space with pretty colored folders or utilitarian style products, if minimalism is more your thing. But add a dash of bright color somewhere along the lines to keep you feeling motivated and energized!

For my home decor fans, keep it posted on lifewithlilred for the latest renovations to Chez Red! Who has done some remodeling of their home as of late? What is your home decor style? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Stay Warm This Winter With These Toasty Decor Tips

Stay Warm This Winter With These Toasty Decor Tips

I am one of those people who are always always cold. So if you are anything like me, then I am sure that you will find this post useful to help keep you nice and warm this winter:

The cold weather will soon be upon us! How are you planning on staying warm at home this winter? Of course, you will always have your heating system available to heat your rooms. But did you know that there are also some other useful decor ideas that can help you stay toasty through the winter. And, no, I’m not just going to tell you to put on an extra jumper and woolly hat! Here are some of the best tips that you should take advantage of to make sure you don’t feel the chill this winter:

Thermal Drapes: Did you know that thermal drapes are a thing? They are a lot thicker and heavier than regular ones. But that doesn’t mean they have to be gray and unattractive. Quite the contrary! You will find that you can find them in a variety of colors and patterns. If you hang them on all of your windows, you will prevent any drafts from cooling down your home. They also help to insulate your rooms and prevent hot air from escaping through the windows. And that will save you a lot on energy bills!

Gas Fireplaces: There are some appliances that you can add to your home to help support the central heating system. For example, gas fireplaces. If you ever feel too cold, even with your heating on, just turn on the fireplace. And if it is ever a bit chilly, but not cold enough to turn on your entire home’s central heating, use the fireplace. What’s more, you can now get a double sided fireplace that can heat two rooms at once.

Get Some Throws: Throws are a great addition to any family living room. They are inexpensive and will add gorgeous bursts of color to your sofas and armchairs. Plus you don’t have to take them away once spring is here and the weather starts to warm up. Simply leave them on the backs of your chairs and sofa. But they are especially great in the winter. Once you start to feel a little chilly, grab a throw and snuggle up into it! It’ll be a great way to get cozy during a movie night!

Scented Candles: Now that autumn is here, the nights will start to get longer and darker. It can be very depressing when you come home to a dark house after a busy day in the office! Thankfully, there is an easy way to brighten things up. Just add some candles to your living room! This is a quick and cheap way to create an atmospheric room. For an extra cozy touch, use scented candles and fill your rooms with autumnal aromas.

Use Festive Decorations Wisely: There are a number of Christmas decorations that can help you seal up gaps and prevent drafts. Buy a Christmas doorjamb that can compliment all of your other decorations. Not only will your door be draft-free, but your home will look exceptionally Christmassy!

Winter is coming! But you don’t have to suffer; especially now you have these toasty decor tips.

Big Chill Kitchen Makeover

Standard
Big Chill Kitchen Makeover

Hi everyone and welcome to a fun Kitchen Makeover edition of lifewithlilred, compliments of Big Chill! When I was asked to create my dream kitchen by Big Chill, I just couldn’t refuse. They specialize in vintage appliances that are sure to make an amazing centerpiece to get people talking at your next dinner party. There are so many darling choices to pick from that it was hard to choose a favorite! Shop along at: bigchill and see how I would decorate my dream kitchen:

^^^ The thing about my style, is that it’s very eclectic. There’s no rhyme or reason for why I like certain things and I’m never too concerned about creating the perfect match. Is my dream kitchen worthy of being featured in the top five “world’s most beautiful kitchens”? Probably not, but I sure had a good time making it! Take a peek inside my mind and see why I picked the items featured above:

Cherry Red stove: As I browsed through Big Chill’s website, the first item that really caught my eye was their Cherry Red stove – which shouldn’t be that big of a surprise! As soon as I saw it, countless ideas for a retro 1950’s chic kitchen began to bloom and I knew that I wanted it for my centerpiece. Yes, it’s one of my favorite colors but it’s just so darn fun! I love to cook and thinking about creating meals for my family on this little beauty made me so happy. It’s bright, cool, and the perfect pop of color for a kitchen that wows.

Kitchen cabinets: I like how the cabinets that I found are kind of shabby chic. They scream “1950’s starter home kitchen” to me and I think it’s really charming. Once you have true vintage style appliances line the ones from Big Chill, you just have to ride out the theme and I think these cabinets do it perfectly. I would change the color to a few shades lighter but other than that, I’m a fan!

Black dishwasher: Despite all of the darling colors you can pick from on Big Chill’s site, I didn’t want to go too crazy and stuck with a classic black dishwasher. To me, the color looks matte, which is nice because it lets the vibrant appliances like the refrigerator and stove do the talking. Of course, you may need the help of Ferris Plumbing, Heating & Cooling to get it fitted but that can make your kitchen refit even more convenient. Not all homes from back in the day had a dishwasher but it was a must for me because Lil Red does not do dirty dishes!!

Hand towels & wall art: I wanted some sweet hand towels to lay around the kitchen so I kept with the color red and found some cute checked ones to scatter about. They’ll be perfect for slopping up spills of wine, coffee, and junk food! I also wanted some unique pictures to hang and I really like the black utensil decor. The wall art is simple but it still looks sharp and stands out and I think they’ll make a great addition to my dream kitchen.

Beach Blue refrigerator: Oh yes, I love love LOVE this Big Chill fridge! The Beach Blue color is so vibrant and bright, it’s just delightful. I also really like combining this cheery blue with the Cherry Red stove. This refrigerator is pure fun and I couldn’t imagine how envious my friends would be if I had this appliance in my home.

Kitchen table: A vintage style kitchen needs just the right table and I adore the red and white dinette that I found. It looks like it came straight out of the cutest mom and pop diner and it really ties the retro theme together. All it needs now is a nice big bowl of fresh fruit and a vase full of bright and blooming flowers.

Pink Lemonade Microwave: For Lil Red, a microwave is a must. No one likes to cook all the time! I went with Big Chill’s Pink Lemonade microwave for my kitchen. I didn’t want to repeat any of the colors of the other appliances so I went with the pink, which is a color I don’t normally pick. I like how girly and sweet it is, though, and I think it compliments the other appliance colors really nicely. The Pink Lemonade color is more muted, too, which I think is a plus. A microwave any brighter would probably clash with the other items in my kitchen.

Vanilla walls: To complete my kitchen, I would paint the walls a rich and creamy vanilla. To me, that color is a neutral even though it isn’t your standard black, white, or beige. I think the vanilla walls would make the Big Chill appliances really pop and it has a great quirky and retro feel overall.

Ta da!! My Big Chill Kitchen Makeover! I had so much fun writing this article and giving a go at home decor. Please make sure you check out the other wonderful appliances that Big Chill has to offer at: bigchill. How would you decorate your dream kitchen? What color of appliances would you get from Big Chill? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Best Sister Ever? Best Sister Ever!

Heyyy there and a happy Tuesday evening to all of you! So yesterday my sister, Kristen, texted me with an ominous picture of a cardboard box saying that she got me a present. I was so curious about what she gifted me with and as soon as she was home I ripped the box open to find this gorgeous new mirror:

mirror

Kristen told me that when she saw this while out shopping she just “had to” get it for me…She knows me all too well! I have a deep love for all things Egyptian – if you’re familiar with my site then you’ll know I have a big Isis tattoo piece on my side. So needless to say, I was simply thrilled when I saw this unique home decor piece! I decided to hang my mirror above my jewelry department in my closet boutique so I have a perfect view of what necklace and earrings to wear with each outfit. You can see the new home for my mirror in my featured image photo.

I am so thankful for all of the amazing treats and gifts that Kristen surprises me with. I’m thankful for the times when we lay in bed snuggling or are going out and about to run errands. I’m thankful for any time that we spend together because I know that it’s time spent with my best friend. I hate to brag, but I really do have the best sister ever! ❤

I hope all of you are having a wonderful rest of your day and make sure you tune in for Woman Crush Wednesday: Anne Hathaway Edition tomorrow! Who else has a sibling that’s your best friend? Does anyone else have a love for Egyptian everything? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Cool Decorating Ideas

Heyyy everyone and happy Sunday! So every once in a while my parents and I like to hit up Tuesday Morning, which is a lot like TJMaxx minus the clothing. The store has a lot of cool home decor pieces including everything from furniture, mirrors, artwork, and any knick knack you can imagine in one convenient location. Every time I go to Tuesday Morning I tell myself that when the time comes for me to decorate my own apartment I will most definitely be shopping there. I took some pictures of some pieces that I thought were fun and unique to share with you guys and maybe give you some ideas of your own for decorating! Take a look:

IMG_3553[1]IMG_3555[1]IMG_3556[1]IMG_3557[1]IMG_3558[1]IMG_3559[1]IMG_3560[1]IMG_3561[1]IMG_3563[1]

^^^^ Rad, right??

I’m a really big fan of the antique-y vibe that I get from all of these cool little odds and ends. My absolute favorite thing pictured above is the step ladder shelf. I admire that baby every time I go to Tuesday Morning and I would love to have it in my room to house my beloved shoes on. I also really like all of the floral painted wall hooks – I can picture a plethora of those hanging up on the walls in my room to display all of my hats and scarves. I get happy just thinking about it! One item in particular that I’m not sure that I would put in my apartment would be the bust statue – but I guess it would be a pretty good conversation piece! What I was instantly drawn to today when I entered the store was the mini pedestals with the glass container covers. Those are absolutely gorgeous, and my first thought when I saw them was that I would love to display all of my jewelry in them. I imagined a row of the containers going across my desk with each of them holding a necklace or bracelet. So cute! It’s always so fun going into Tuesday Morning to see what’s new and exciting, and I can’t wait for the day that I can go there and fill up a shopping cart with all of the decorations that my little heart desires! Until the fateful day that I move out, I’ll just be admiring all of these items from afar!

I hope these pictures inspired all of the decorators out there to get to work on a new project! Where is your favorite place to buy home decor at? What is your favorite decorative piece in your living quarters? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Have a great day! -Sarah
