Mini Golf Fun

Mini Golf Fun

Hello!! During mine and Johnny’s Fourth of July staycation, we did ALL of the activities. One of my favorites was going mini golfing together with my brother. We hopped into the Little Red Love Machine and headed to Fun n’ Stuff, which is an amusement center in my neck of the woods. There’s a little something for everyone young and old at Fun n’ Stuff – arcade games, laser tag, roller skating, bumper cars and boats, go karts, and two huge mini golf courses. The mini golf set up is awesome and has a pirate and dinosaur themed course. There were fun surprises scattered throughout like animatronic dinos, an octopus that shoots water, and challenging twists and turns with each put! Check it out:

image_50748417(2)image_50736641(7)image_50732289(3)image_50740993(12)image_50382849(3)image_50446849(5)image_50447617(11)image_50730497(3)image_50739457(8)image_50414849(7)image_50449409(12)

In my neck of the woods, there aren’t too many mini golf courses in a close vicinity. The only other one within a fifteen mile radius is called Downview and it is not the best lol. It is small, expensive, and can be completed in under a half hour. At Fun n’ Stuff, the pricing was infinitely better and you got so much more for it. For a whopping eight dollars and fifty cents, you could play the two mini golf courses for as long as you’d like. It took us at least an hour and a half to finish both the dinosaur and pirate courses and it was worth every penny!

Visually, the dinosaur course was a lot more appealing and the gigantic moving dinosaurs really stole the show. I also loved the smoking and steaming volcano. However, I think I liked playing the pirate course more because it was just cool! Putting the ball through cannons, going on the pirate ship, and the skull tunnel with glowing eyes really spoke to me. So much so that I actually won the game with fifty-three strokes on the pirate course which literally never happens. Let’s just say I lack finesse when it comes to the subtle art of put put golf! I am pleased to report that between both courses I got FOUR hole in ones so it was a banner day for yours truly. We definitely plan on going back before the summer is out. 😀

Mini golf is one of my favorite summertime activities and I am so glad we got to squeeze it into our staycation. There is nothing like some good competitive fun and next time we go back I am manifesting a win on both courses!!

What is one of your favorite summer outings? Are there any cool mini golf courses in your area? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Date Day!!

Date Day!!

Hello!! This past week has been so super nice because Johnny and I both had time off from work. We took some time to relax but we mainly jam packed each day with SO many activities. It felt really weird to be having all kinds of adventures when I should have been at work but the good kind of weird! My favorite day of my time off was definitely Tuesday because Johnny and I went on a date day in downtown Cuyahoga Falls AKA the Riverfront. It is such a quaint little area with all kinds of cute boutiques, eateries, and bars. I have wanted to do a shopping day there for so long and it was perfect!

dateedatee1

We began our date at the vintage shops and they are plentiful on the Riverfront. Surprisingly, I have never been to any of them before and now that I have, it is a dangerous combination lol. They were fabulous! My favorite one of all had to be A Signature Antiques and I could have literally spent all day and all my money there. A Signature had clothing, accessories, and decor fresh from the 1930s to the 1990s and it was like shopping in a time capsule. Everywhere I looked offered even more surprises with vintage ware that I have only seen in magazines and movies. It was enchanting, to say the least, and I walked away with two simply amazing accessories. I can’t wait for you to see them soon!

After spending time shopping in the past, we skyrocketed into the present. We visited a coffee shop/bar and got cocktails that we were able to sip as we strolled the Riverfront. There were a few other boutiques I wanted to check out but none of them held a candle to the vintage shops. That was okay, though, because it was just about time for our favorite bar, the Cashmere Cricket, to open. The Cricket is where we had our first date and we also went there to celebrate after getting engaged. It is a very special spot for us and we like to go as often as we can. We enjoyed sharing appetizers and the most divine cocktails. A watermelon mojito for Johnny and a pickle martini for me. It was the perfect way to conclude a perfect day. ❤

I loved my Date Day with my Johnny and being able to spend so much time together having fun this week. It will be hard to go back to work, but I will be looking back on our little staycation most fondly!

What is an ideal date day for you? Do you have any favorite vintage shops in your neck of the woods? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Elton John Brunch

Elton John Brunch

Hello!! This past Sunday, Johnny and I enjoyed a highly entertaining day at an Elton John Brunch with his mom for a belated Mother’s Day gift. This event took place at the Music Box Supper Club, which is located in The Flats in Cleveland. While the venue hosts regular bands from time to time, they are known for having tribute performances and it is an absolute blast. We haven’t been to the Music Box Supper Club since seeing a Bruce Springsteen tribute band called Swamps of Jersey years ago. That was a total hoot so we all knew we were in for some fun at our brunch outing. Check it out:

image_50738689(5)image_6487327(41)image_6487327(40)image_6487327(39)IMG_8253IMG_8260IMG_8258

I think myself, Johnny, and my beloved mother-in-law will say that the brunch portion of our time at the Music Box Supper Club left a lot to be desired. However, the mimosas were A-okay and our Elton John for the afternoon was spectacular. Tommy Lee Thompson from Akron (Represent!) was a brilliant combination of old and new Elton and he had the entire audience singing, dancing, laughing, and smiling from ear to ear. He had cheeky quips, could tickle the keyboard keys like nobody’s business, and the unmistakable Elton John voice to match. We were seated facing his back during the show, but this was actually a good thing. We could see everything he was doing on the keyboard perfectly and it was mind blowing!

For the hour and a half performance, Tommy Lee Thompson performed several classic Elton John hits. He also spent some time playing Billy Joel, The Monkees, and Carole King. Although these songs were good, I think we were all happy when he went back to Elton John. It was the Elton John Brunch, after all! Johnny and I were elated that he opened the show with The Bitch Is Back because it is our jam. And, as always, we got very sentimental when he performed Your Song. Our sweet niece did her flower girl thing to Your Song when we got married and it holds the most special place in our hearts. You could tell that everyone in the audience had some time of connection to the songs being played and it was so nice to be part of a crowd full of people having the literal best Sunday ever. ❤

We had a banner time celebrating Johnny’s mom at the Elton John Brunch and have grand plans for more visits to the Music Box Supper Club this summer. They have a stellar tribute band lineup and we are SO there for it!

What is the best tribute band you have seen? What is your favorite Elton John song? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Constellations Show

Constellations Show

Hello!!! Johnny and I had an incredibly busy weekend, but it was such a fun one. On Friday, our sweet niece had her preschool graduation. Saturday was the first show for Constellations, a metalcore band that I do social media management for. And on Sunday we celebrated my brother’s birthday. The show on Saturday was an absolute blast and I have been looking forward to it for a long time. This was the first time I got to meet all of the band members in person. The guys and gal of the Constellations crew were all exactly how I imagined them to be – a total delight. Not to mention they tore their first set up!

IMG_8152IMG_8124IMG_8128IMG_8174IMG_8166IMG_8192IMG_8164

Constellations had their first show at Mahall’s, which is about forty-five minutes away from us in Lakewood. Mahall’s was such a cool venue that featured the concert space, a bar and restaurant, and a vintage bowling alley on the lower level. Before the show, Johnny and I enjoyed drinks at the bar, taking pictures, and mingling with the band and other concertgoers. Everyone was decked out in their emo/goth/metal best and we loved to see it! Constellations was the first opener for Until I Wake and that was great because Johnny and I can’t hang like we used to lol. They took the stage around six fifteen and…

It was INCREDIBLE!!! Right from the jump with their first single, RIP, they were completely in their bag. Between the music, their stage presence, and the vibey deep red and indigo lighting, Johnny and I were blown away. It was so very cool to finally see what the band is capable of and the joy that was radiating off of them when they were doing their thing. The guitarists, Chandler and Heather, went into the crowd with their instruments and the audience just went nuts. Max on bass gave the band a thumping heartbeat. Mike on drums was so effortless in his performance and our vocalist and screamer, Tre, led the show like a seasoned pro. Needless to say, I was beyond proud!

To Johnny’s delight, we helped the band load up their van after the performance (He missed it!) and got to hang out before it was time to make our way home. We sang Constellations praises the whole way back and can’t wait for the next show!

Who is your favorite local band? What is your favorite music venue? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Louie Run Fun

Louie Run Fun

Hello everyone! This past week has been a crazy busy one because I started my brand new job as Tim Misny’s social media manager. It has been an absolute whirlwind and I have been enjoying myself so much! My first assignment, so to speak, was this past Sunday at the Lake County Fairgrounds for the 40th Annual Louie Run. The Louie Run is the “unofficial official” kick start to the motorcycle riding season in Ohio and honors those who lost their lives or were injured through motorcycle accidents. It also tips its cap to those who have made a positive impact on the motorcycle community. This was definitely an event that Johnny and I didn’t expect to find ourselves at, but it was SO awesome!! Check it out:

image_50397953(7)image_50450945(10)image_50434305(7)

The Louie Run was jam packed with activities (classic car and motorcycle shows, stunt shows, etc) food trucks, vendors, and musicians and it was my job to capture it. As soon as Johnny and I arrived on scene, it went straight to shooting Facebook Live segments and snapping pics and videos to post on social media throughout the week. We were going here, there, and everywhere so I could conduct interviews and showcase all of the excitement of the day. Even though it was exhausting, it was a complete dream come true! I have conducted several interviews in the past, but it was always with people I knew. On the spot interviews are something I have never done before or even had the opportunity to do and I think I nailed it. 😀

Basically every single moment at the Louie Run was hectic and every time I thought Johnny and I had a moment to catch our breath, it was onto the next thing. That’s not to say that we didn’t love every minute of it, though! We were also still able to pencil in a few moments for non work related fun too. We adored seeing the tiniest rider of the day proudly rolling around on his mini bike and all of the random conversations we had with the attendees. Johnny and I also got the biggest kick out of the several requests for pictures I got as we strolled around the fairgrounds. It had me feeling like a celebrity and it was really cool!!

You can watch all of my Live segments from the Louie Run on Tim Misny’s Facebook page and there is much more to come all week. I can’t wait to see what my new job has in store for me next!

What is an annual event that takes place in your neck of the woods? Have you ever rode a motorcycle before? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Misnyland Spring Picnic

Misnyland Spring Picnic

Hello!! Way back in November of last year was the first time I visited my friend and Ohio’s favorite personal injury lawyer, Tim Misny, at Misnyland. This was thanks to a contest that I won for rocking his Misny Merch line in an OOTD post. Over the past month and change, Tim hosted a similar merch contest with the prize being a picnic at Misnyland last weekend. Johnny and I were invited to go and we were elated because it has been a while since we had some quality Tim Time. The picnic was an absolute blast and the weather was just right for an afternoon outdoors. I think we looked pretty snazzy too:

ktkt1

The picnic this past weekend was basically a repeat of the party Johnny and I attended last year. Hey, if it’s not broken don’t fix it because Tim knows how to throw a get together! There was music playing, delicious pizza from Tim’s favorite shop, golf cart tours of the property, photo ops, and mingling with Tim and new friends. And, yes, I mean new actual friends because Johnny and I made some and we are thrilled. Their names are Grant and Amanda, an adorable married couple who were invited because of an artistic masterpiece:

kt

Grant is the owner of Matrix Tattoo and completed this piece of Tim Misny’s iconic eyebrow arch a week or so before the party (the recipient of the tattoo was invited too). As soon as this picture was posted, my Facebook was blowing up from people tagging me in it and I sent it off to Tim because I knew he’d get a kick out of it. I was assuming he would extend an invite to the picnic their way and am so glad he did because they were the coolest. Grant and Amanda had so much in common with Johnny and I and we are so excited to have a game night with them soon. 😀

Tim Misny’s parties are the best because you get to meet so many new people who you already have a perfect ice breaker with – You’re all fans of Tim! It can be so hard to meet anybody new when all you do is work and watch Criminal Minds lol. Johnny and I haven’t socialized in a group setting in so long and, I have to admit, we were both a little rusty. By the end of the party, however, we didn’t want to leave because we had so much left to say to all of our new friends. Whether it’s through his billboards or a party on his own property, Tim Misny sure knows how to bring people together. ❤

Be on the look out for brand new content with Tim and I soon for the release of the spring and summer Misny Merch line. It’s going to be a hoot!

Is it easy or hard for you to meet new people? Where do you like to go to meet new people? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Total Solar Eclipse

Total Solar Eclipse

Hello! The solar eclipse this past Monday has been the buzz in Akron, Ohio for months because we just so happened to be in the path of totality. For once, something cool was happening here and everyone was SO excited for it and for good reason. The Total Solar Eclipse was one of the most amazing things I have ever experienced and Ohio delivered. I mentioned earlier that we were fearing a cloudy day and, thankfully, that wasn’t the case whatsoever. We had the most perfect, sunny weather for the ultimate view of the big show and it was truly spectacular.

These pictures I took are not the best and they do not do justice to the solar eclipse at all. But, I did the best I could with limited visibility lol! Check it out:

image_50441217(11)image_50394625(2)image_50338305image_50349057(1)image_50391553(5)image_50405889(4)

There were countless eclipse festivals that Johnny and I could have attended on Monday, but we opted to stay home and watch it with our downstairs neighbor from the porch. I’m so glad we did because we were delighted by what we saw when we walked out the door. It seemed like every single person in our apartment community was outside watching too and it was such fun to be all together and cheering as the sun and moon performed. Even if we did go to a festival, I highly doubt we would have had a better view because ours was crystal clear and mainly unobstructed.

The total eclipse happened around 3:15 and Johnny and I were able to go outside as soon as we finished up with work at 2:45. During that time, the moon was moving and grooving closer to the sun and rapid progress was being made every time we looked up. This was neat to see, but the magic happened when totality was reached. During that four minute window, everything went completely dark. Street lights came on and the temperature dropped ten degrees. You could feel it immediately! It was such a surreal feeling to experience nighttime in the middle of the day and I think everyone was simply blown away. I sure was!

Minutes after the total eclipse, we were back to a typical afternoon level of sun and warmth. However, the feeling of witnessing a once in a lifetime phenomenon remained. Johnny and I are still not over it and why should we be? It was beautiful. ❤

Did you watch the solar eclipse? What is something cool that you experienced in nature? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Easter Extravaganza OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Easter Extravaganza OOTD! My Easter was short and sweet with a quick visit to my mom and dad’s for some lunch. We just ended up getting a take out meal from Giant Eagle and everything was so good. So good and SO very filling! After our lunch paired with champagne, I was ready to go home, put on my pajamas, and sleep for the rest of the week lol. Of course, it wouldn’t be a holiday without getting dressed up in your Sunday best to just eat food. Despite being in my Sunday best, these pics were the absolute worst:

Although Easter breaks my rules of never doing anything on a Sunday, I was pretty excited for it. We were going to do an Easter egg hunt for my sweet nieces and I couldn’t wait to assemble the eggs with candy treats. Then, my sister ended up having to work and Ohio did that typical Ohio thing… It rained all weekend so any outdoor egg hunts were no longer an option anyways. I’ll be looking forward to having a belated egg hunt with better weather soon. ❤

Another Ohio uh oh will actually be happening today. In my neck of the woods, we are in a path of full totality for the solar eclipse. It has been the hot buzz here for over a month and there are countless festivals and events taking place. For once, people are traveling from all over just to come to Ohio lol. Unfortunately, I don’t think anyone is going to be getting the show they expected because it will be cloudy all day. This has been a “what if” joke online and leave it up to my state to make good on it. Maybe next solar eclipse four hundred years later… 😀

Like the weather in Ohio, the blooper pictures are never the best. But, hey, at least that’s to be expected with both of them!

Are you going to view the solar eclipse? Are you going to an event for it? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Condado – Not Impressed!

Condado – Not Impressed!

Hello! Most people hate Mondays, but I absolutely love them. It may be a three AM morning for me, but I always look forward to it. I take a client to work, then I either work from home or go to my online boss’s office. Working with my online boss is just the best and it is so nice to collab face to face on all of our different projects. It’s also awesome to be able to work side by side with someone whose company I enjoy because I am so used to working by myself.

This past Monday, I had an in office day and decided to bring home a treat for me and Johnny: Condado! One recently opened by where I work and I haven’t had it in years. Not since a show Johnny played forever ago in Columbus. I remember it being really good then, but not so much now… Check it out:

image_50434817(9)image_50436865(8)image_50395393(6)

For my meal, I did the build your own tacos with a double stacked Sweet Lucy shell (a soft and hard shell with guac and queso), elote queso, and a marg to go. I couldn’t wait to dig in when I got home because I didn’t have time to eat before I left for work. While it was good, it wasn’t that good. The rice was really bland, the queso and guac didn’t have much (if any) flavor, and the chips for dipping were basically cardboard. In fact, I thought the chips from Chipotle were infinitely better! One saving grace was that the to go margaritas were pretty strong and that definitely helped lol.

In my neck of the woods, Barrio reigns supreme in the build your own taco world. Barrio mainly has locations in Ohio, but also has a few scattered across random states too. Despite endless options to add to your taco, I always get the exact same thing every time because it’s just so good every time! Once you have found a combination that you like at a restaurant, it’s hard to try anything different because it simply isn’t the same. I’m happy that I gave Candado another try because it has been on my to do list, but Barrio will be the move from now on. Way better food and prices too!

I’d be a liar if I said I wasn’t wishing my order from Condado was Chipotle or Barrio instead. If you already have a favorite build your own taco place like me, Condado is not going to blow your mind so you can save the trip! 🙂

Have you tried any new eateries recently? What was a restaurant you tried that was disappointing? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Greg Sestero Meet & Greet

Greg Sestero Meet & Greet

Hellooo everyone! I don’t know about all of you, but Johnny and I had a banner weekend! On Friday, I got dinner with my bestie and then a few of our friends came to the apartment. We had a date night on Saturday and on Sunday we celebrated my sweet niece at her fifth birthday party. For our date, Johnny and I attended a screening of The Room at the Nightlight theater in downtown Akron. The best part of all? Greg Sestero who played Mark was there!! Check it out:

image_50409985(5)image_50423553(9)image_50429441(6)image_50406913(7)image_50362625image_50416129(9)image_50365441(1)image_50390273(3)

I was introduced to The Room by a theater friend when I was in high school and it will forever be one of my favorites. I have been to countless midnight showings of the movie in Cleveland and have made all of my friends and family watch it with me too. In fact, Johnny and I watched it on our first date! It has always been a dream of mine to go to a meet and greet session with Greg Sestero or Tommy Wiseau. Unfortunately, their tours always take place in locations like LA, New York, or Portland so this dream has never came to fruition. Until this weekend!

Thanks to one of the social media pages I manage that is all about entertainment in Akron, I learned about the Greg Sestero event at the Nightlight. I bought tickets for me and Johnny immediately and was counting down the days until March sixteenth. I have been looking forward to this for so long and our evening at the theater was everything I ever hoped it could be and so much more. It’s not every day that one of your lifelong dreams comes true. 🙂

When we arrived at the Nightlight, I couldn’t believe my eyes. Greg Sestero was just there lol. Johnny and I were one of the first people to get to the theater and we were able to walk right up to him. We chatted, took selfies, Greg signed my copy of The Room and The Disaster Artist, and I bought a copy of the original script of The Room that Greg signed too. It was SO insane to meet Greg and I was incredibly nervous. I shouldn’t have been because he was nice as can be and welcomed all of us moviegoers like good friends.

After our meet and greet, Johnny and I grabbed some drinks and made our way into the theater for the show. We sat right at the front in comfy recliner chairs and this was an excellent choice… Before the screening of The Room began, Greg came in to introduce the movie and talk a bit with all of us. Then, he pulled out a copy of the script for The Room and wanted some audience members to read lines with him. Since Johnny and I were right in front of him with our own copy of the script, he chose us to play Johnny and Lisa. And, of course, Greg read as Mark. We flipped to page eighteen and read about two pages worth of lines together. It. Was. AMAZING!!!!

The screening of the movie was not as rowdy as prior ones that I have been to, but we all had a ton of fun. Although we didn’t do some of the traditional chants and phrases throughout the movie, we were all laughing hysterically, cheering, and yelling out our own quips to make us laugh even more. After the show, Greg came back in for a Q&A and told us he could hear us all perfectly from way outside the theater! The talk back session at the end was enlightening and Greg answered all of our questions (including two of mine) truthfully and with good humor – he does a stellar Tommy Wiseau impression! This was, hands down, one of the best nights of my life!

I am still elated from mine and Johnny’s night at the Nightlight and I don’t think it will ever wear off. I will be looking forward to when Greg or Tommy comes close by again so fingers crossed they make their way to Akron soon for round two!

Have you ever seen The Room? What is your favorite quote from it? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
