Get To Know Me Tag

Helloooo! Similarly to the Beauty Scenario Tag that I just did, I found the Get To Know Me Tag while I was browsing through my WordPress newsfeed. I landed upon Petya’s page at BeautyWithP, where she had completed the post. It looked like fun and, because FOMO, I wanted in. Check it out and get to know some more factoids about your favorite Lil Red:

1. What’s your full name? Sarah Renee Mushenheim (The most basic name ever lol)
2. What does your name mean? Sarah means “princess” and Renee means “reborn” or “born again”. And Mushenheim means whatever you want it to mean.
3. Are you named after anyone? Since Renee is a derivative of Irene, my middle name was for my Auntie Irene.
4. What’s your zodiac sign? Gemini
5. Do you believe in astrology? Yep!
6. What do you like about yourself? I’m sometimes funny and I’m smart.
7. What do you dislike about yourself? I get really angry sometimes and say things I don’t mean.
8. When was the last time you cried? A couple of days ago.
9. If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself? Sure!
10. Do you use sarcasm a lot? It’s one of my many talents.
11. What’s the first thing you notice about people? Their teeth.
12. What is your eye color? Hazel.
13. Scary movie or happy endings? Scary movies all day every day.
14. Favorite smells? Freshly cut grass and bread baking.
15. Do you have any special talents? I figure skated competitively for about ten years.

30. Favorite food? Anything vegetarian friendly. I love Italian, Mexican, Indian, and Thai food.
31. What’s your favorite time of the day? Early afternoon.
32. What’s your favorite quote? I don’t really have any.
33. Are you more likely to avoid conflict or engage it head-on? Avoid like the plague, lol.
34. Are you a good cook? People tell me that I am, so I would say yes!
35. If you could eliminate one weakness or limitation in your life, what would it be? My handful of mental health issues.
36. Tell us one of your bad habits! Smoking and drinking a lot of coffee.
37. Do you have any tattoos? Yep, one on my side, three on my arms, and four on my back. I can’t wait to get more!
38. What’s the thing you can’t leave the house without? My phone, my iPod for driving tunes, and my GPS if I’m going somewhere unfamiliar.
39. Do you believe ignorance is bliss? Of course.
40. What’s your biggest fear? Definitely death of a loved one.
41. Do you have any phobias? Not that I know of!
42. Have you ever met any celebrities? I met Hawthorne Heights back in my teens, and I’ve met Sasha Cohen and Todd Eldridge which was cool when I was skating.

Beauty Scenario Tag

Hey everyone and happy Hump Day! While browsing through my WordPress beauty feed, I noticed a Beauty Scenario Tag post by Fridoline and it looked like so much fun that I had to join in! Here we go:

You have to get rid of all your foundations and you can only keep one high end and one drugstore, which do you keep?

Much to everyone’s shock when I tell them this, I don’t wear any type of foundation or concealer products. I consider myself very lucky and my pasty pale complexion is one of my favorite things about myself.

You go for an interview and the lady interviewing you has lipstick on her teeth. Do you approach the subject or ignore it completely?

Oh wow… I have no idea how I would handle this. I actually don’t think that I would say anything. If a total stranger told me that I had lipstick or food in my teeth, I would feel so embarrassed. I think that it would be better if she found out herself or if a coworker who she knows better pointed it out. But, that’s just me.

You’re not feeling yourself and need a pick me up. Which lipstick do you put on to make yourself feel beautiful?

NYX’s Pure Red Matte Lipstick, of course. It’s my go to shade and is fifty percent of the reason why my nickname is Lil Red. (The other half being my red hair, obvs lol.)

You go back in time for a day to your teenage years, how would you do your hair and makeup differently?

When I was a teenager, I actually didn’t wear a lot of makeup. Maybe if I did, I would be better at applying it now! Ha. But, I had long hair as a teen and I wish that I dyed it red, because I think that it would have been so pretty. I’d love to see what it would have looked like, because it is so difficult for me to grow my hair out now.

You ask your hairdresser for a shoulder length Pixie Lott hair cut, but they hear wrong and give you a pixie cut.

Do you:

A) Smile, say thank you, leave and call your mom hysterical.

B) Cry in the chair and things get awkward.

C) Complain to the manager and demand a refund.

OR D) So, I had no idea who Pixie Lott is and I had to Google her. Her hair is very pretty, but it’s not me at all AND I look great in a pixie cut (#humblebrag) so I don’t think that I would have been too upset.

HOWEVER, since that’s not an option, I would probably go with C. I would be very nice about it and say “this is not what I wanted at all and I don’t think that I should have to pay for it”. At the end of the day, it’s your hair that got messed up, so paying for someone’s mistake just adds to the suckery of it.

Your friend surprises you with a 4 day city break and you have 1 hour to pack. Which ‘do it all’ palette do you pack in your makeup bag?

I don’t own any palettes aside from my Elf Nude Rose Gold one, so I guess that’s the one that I would be bringing, lol.

Your house has been robbed, don’t worry everyone is safe, but your beauty stash has been raided. What’s the product you really hope is safe?

Since 99% of my makeup is drugstore brand, besides for my Better Than Sex mascara, I wouldn’t be too disappointed about anything. But, I would be kind of pissed if the Tarte Lip Paint sample that I got for my birthday from Sephora got messed with because it’s an exclusive shade for the Beauty Insider members and I freaking love it.

Your friend borrows your makeup and returns it in awful condition.

Do you:

A) Just pretend you haven’t noticed.

B) Ask them to repurchase it.

C) Secretly do the same to something of theirs.

Can option D be “none of the above”? Lol, I’m not really keen on letting anyone but me use my makeup.

What is your favorite movie genre and why? Horror all the way! I’ve always loved scary movies. It’s fun to be all cozied up under a bunch of blankets and feel shock and then the laughter and relief when the scary scene is over.

What was the last TV show you binge watched? Uhmm… I think it was just rewatching Wentworth in its entirety… again.

Would you rather wear sandals and socks OR triple denim? Give me a denim tuxedo any day! I don’t even own sandals, anyways lol.

I love to do puzzles, Jumbles, and play Scrabble to keep my mind active.

Beauty Tag #2

Helloooo! This weekend, lifewithlilred was nominated for its second Beauty Tag by my sweet friend, Claudia, over at New Life – Fresh You. I love Claudia’s page and I’m sure that all of you will too, so do be sure to check it out! Here we go:

1. Do you remember your first makeup item?

It’s not exactly a makeup but I had hella LipSmackers chapstick in my youth.

2. Describe your perfect mascara. Have you found one that fits your specifications?

I am obsessed with Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara. It’s the jam.

3. What kind of coverage do you prefer from a foundation?

I don’t wear foundation. I never have.

4. Favorite high end brand?

I wouldn’t necessarily say I have a favorite, because I don’t wear a lot of high end products.

5. What cosmetics brands have you always wanted to try but still haven’t?

None that I can think of.

6. Favorite drugstore brand?

NYX!!

7. Do you wear false lashes?

No, I’ve actually never tried them, either. They seem like such a pain to get on!!

8. Is there any kind of makeup you can’t leave the house without?

Nope, I feel pretty okay about leaving the house with a fresh face.

9. What is your most cherished beauty product?

My favorite NYX red lipstick.

10. How often do you shop for makeup? Do you like to pick up an item here and there, or get lots of goodies at once?

I pick up things as I need them, so maybe once every few months.

11. Do you have a “beauty budget” or do you spend freely?

I spend freely. I don’t spend money unless I’m comfortable paying for whatever it is, though.

12. Do you utilize coupons, reward cards, and sales when you shop for cosmetics?

HELL YEAH! I’m all about saving money, so I love utilizing anything that can help me do that.

13. What type of product do you buy the most of?

I feel like I purchase skin care more regularly than makeup, so I’m going to say moisturizer.

14. Is there a brand you absolutely can’t stand?

Not that I can think of.

15. Do you avoid certain ingredients in cosmetics, like parabens or sulfates?

As long as the product is cruelty free, then I’m good.

16. Do you have a favorite place to shop for makeup?

Target, lol.

17. Do you like trying new skin care products or do you keep a certain routine?

I do have my staple skin care products that I will use for all eternity, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t like experimenting if I find a good deal or something new that I’d like to try.

18. Favorite bath and body brand?

The Body Shop.

19. If you could only buy from one brand, which brand would you choose?

The Body Shop, for sure. They’re a one stop shop and I use a lot of their products, anyway.

20. What brand do you think has the best packaging?

Hmm… I really don’t know.

21. Which celebrity always has great makeup?

It’s hard to say, because I don’t really pay attention.

22. Do you belong to any online makeup communities?

No.

23. Favorite beauty gurus:

I deeply admire the makeup skills behind the local drag queens in my neck of the woods.

24. Do you like multi-functional products like lip and cheek stains?

No. I’d prefer separate items.

25. Are you clumsy in putting on makeup?

I used to be, but not too much any more. Only if I’m really tired am I clumsy. Today, for example, I accidentally spilled one of my facial oils in a sleepy stupor. I was so pissed!

26. Do you use makeup base/primer for the eyes?

Nope. The less products that I use, the better.

27. How many hair products do you use on a typical day?

I only wash my hair once a month, when I’m redyeing it. I wouldn’t even call it washing, because I just condition it with the product that comes in the box kit. So I don’t own any shampoo or conditioner. However, when I’m straightening my hair I do use heat protecting spray and styling oil.

28. What do you apply first, concealer or foundation?

Neither, because I don’t use them.

29. Would you ever consider taking makeup classes?

Nah.

30. What do you love about makeup?

I love that it showcases the personality behind the person wearing it.

What do you think is the most important quality a blogger should have? I think that bloggers should be personable and have a good sense of humor.

If you can choose only one person and one essential item to travel the world, what will you choose? My sister and my wallet.

Which do you prefer – a self planned trip or a travel package of a tour operator? Why? A little bit of both. It’s fun to do things on your own and be spontaneous but having a set in stone plan is nice, too.

What do you think is the most versatile vegetable which you can use in any dish? Onions and garlic. You can never have too much garlic! Vampires beware!!

What do you think is more important to enhance your beauty – a good fashion sense or good makeup skills? Good fashion sense – I think that it showcases ones personality more.

What inspires you more – a biography of a great person or a heart warming fiction? I’m more fond of fiction. I haven’t read too many biographies.

What do you think is more important to you as a blogger – satisfaction of a creator/appreciation from your readers? Satisfaction as a creator, definitely. I take a lot of pride in my work and it feels good. Appreciation from my readers is just an amazing added bonus!

What do you prefer more on a special occasion – fine dining at a luxurious restaurant or a candle lit dinner at home? Why? Both are nice! It’s fun to get glammed up and go out on the town, but it’s just as great cooking at home with your family.

If you win the lottery some day what will you choose – fulfill your own dream or help any of your loved ones fulfill his/her dream? You can only choose one not both. Oh dang… I’d say, help a loved one because my family definitely has a vested interest in wanting all dogs to have a good home so it would be like my dream, too!

Which one do you think is an absolutely essential home decor – small live pot plants or photo collage frames? We have a lot of potted plants at home so yes, I think greenery is a must.

Hi hi hi! This past weekend my friend, Claudia, over at New Life Fresh You nominated lifewithlilred for The TMI Tag. I have never been nominated for this one, and it’s basically a huge Q & A so it should be a lot of fun. How much do you weigh? 120 pounds give or take.

Do you have any piercings? Yep. I’ve had over thirty in my life time but now I only have my bellybutton, two on my ears, my septum, and two studs on each nostril. I would love to get a facial dermal or my lip pierced again!

Do you have any tattoos? Yes, I have five and am planning on getting three more this month.

What’s your favorite drink? Moscato and Diet Coke.

What’s your favorite song? Beautiful Day by U2 – lyrics from that song was the first tattoo that I got the day that I turned eighteen.

How long does it take you to shower? Fifteen to twenty minutes – I like long showers.

Meaning behind your blog name? Lil Red has been my nickname for five or so years thanks to my signature red hair and lipstick and lifewithlilred just flows really nicely.

Last time you said you loved someone? Before going to bed last night to my parents. 🙂

Last book you read? Honestly, I forget. I used to read every night before bed, but then I started teaching myself American Sign Language and that’s usually what I practice every night before falling asleep.

Hey everyone and TGIF! This past weekend, lifewithlilred got nominated for its fifteenth Liebster Award from the mastermind behind Health & Wellness: The Good Energy Blog. Q & A:

Where are you from? Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. It’s basically right by Akron and about forty or so minutes away from Cleveland.

What inspired you to start writing? I used to love journaling in high school, I still have all of my filled up notebooks in my closet – that might be a fun thing to revisit on the old blog! But, as far as my blog goes, enough people told me I should so I rolled my eyes and said “fine” and have been hooked ever since.

What is your blog about? Fashion, beauty, lifestyle, home decor, and everything in between!

Give one phrase that expresses your intentions to reach out to the world? Uhhh… I dunno… Probably something like “Let’s all be awesome together” haha ayyy! *finger guns*

What is your favorite book? The Little Prince and The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night Time.

If you can choose anywhere in the world to visit, where and why? France, so I can get my French on with the locals. It’s very frustrating to be good at speaking French when there’s few people in my area that I can practice with.

Your favorite book? Since I have many, I’ll list some more: Gentlemen & Players, Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf (Even though it’s a play!), and I love The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo trilogy.

Who inspires you? My parents and three siblings. AND MY TWO DOGS!!! 😀

Name a hobby you enjoy? I love figure skating and learning new languages. I am currently teaching myself American Sign Language.

What is your favorite season? Fall, fo sho.

Name one good quality about yourself? I’m freaking hilarious and DEAD SEXY. 😉

Helloooo! My darling friend from Girl With The Paw Print Tattoo recently nominated lifewithlilred for its first Awesome Blogger Award! Not only am I obsessed with the name of this blog, as it derives from one of my favorite series of books, but I am also in love with how open and honest its author is. It takes a brave person to put their lives out there with the goal of helping others, and I am constantly impressed by the content on GWTPPT. Do be sure to check it out! What do you hope to achieve in 2018? I hope to continue making progress in therapy and working hard in all of my jobs and on my blog.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years? In a lovely apartment or home with a bunny and two dogs.

What is one thing you cannot live without? Coffee, Diet Coke, my family, and friends. Not in that order!

What is your favorite movie and why? I love V For Vendetta and Pan’s Labyrinth because I love the stories, directors, and actors in each film.

If you could go back in time to any era, where would you go and why? The 1980’s! It seems like so much fun and I am a huge fan of the music from that era.

What is your favorite candle scent? All vanilla everything.

What was the most recent thing you got excited about? Seeing amazing fireworks while ringing in the new year.

What are topics that appeal to you the most on the blogging community? Beauty, fashion, and mental health.

Did you accomplish any goals you had for last year? This is bad, but I never really make goals for myself. I am proud of getting myself started in therapy, though.

If you had one million dollars, what would you do and why? Find a home for every dog on the planet!
