Helloooo everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Misny Merch OOTD! Johnny and I had the best time at Misnyland and I couldn’t wait to show off the new swag we were gifted with from Tim Misny. After lunch with some of my family at veg+, Johnny and I walked the little trail that runs through the bottom of Timber Top AKA Timber Bottom to shoot my athleisure look. We strolled along the scenic banks of MUD CREEK (It really is named that lol) and returned home with lots of pics that I was happy with. We also came back home with some shots that looked like this:

My “whoops” face

I actually don’t mind my face in this picture but it looks like I don’t have an arm lol cue the whoops face!!

Timber Top is a pretty alright place to live. I honestly don’t know how it isn’t when we have Mud Creek running through the property! There are also hella dogs to pet and that’s always a delight. Johnny and I love our chihuahua friend named Nacho and I am so impressed that I spelled chihuahua right on my first go. Sometimes, however, Timber Top is redonkulous. This past year or so, someone died from carbon monoxide poisoning, a building caught fire, and people were breaking bones falling through stairs. SMH.

This past week, we thought another Timber Top tragedy was unfolding before our eyes because we were awakened at 10:30 at night to the sound of a fleet of firetrucks, police cars, and ambulances speeding through the property. We had no idea what was going on a few buildings down the way, but it seemed serious. We could see the flashing lights through our windows, could hear the commotion through the walls, and were waiting on baited breath to see what was going to happen….

Thankfully, it was nothing!! Someone was running their dryer at night and because of the cold, it looked like the vents were smoking. While this may seem like a massive inconvenience to some, I’m SO thankful that someone called it in. After another building catching on fire, you cannot be too careful and I am most appreciative to our local safety enforcement for being so Johnny on the spot. What was a trick of the eye could have been something serious and I am so glad that it wasn’t and that no one got hurt. Whoever called this in was focused on keeping our apartment community safe rather than sorry and I commend them! ❤

You never know what’s going to happen in Timber Top and it is a blessing that a goose egg came from our nighttime wake up call. Here’s to an accident free new year in good ol’ TT!!

What was something you thought was serious that ended up being nothing? Do you have any funny named landmarks in your neck of the woods? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Misny Merch OOTD

Standard
Misny Merch OOTD

Hello!! When Johnny and I visited Misnyland, we were each treated to a new T-shirt or long sleeved shirt from the Misny Merch collection. Johnny got himself the same shirt that my dad purchased for me for my birthday and what I wore in my Misny To The Max OOTD that made me a contest winner. I opted for a black long sleeved shirt with Tim’s signature catchphrase “Make Them Pay” going down the side of the sleeves. This was great because I actually wanted to buy that shirt, but I placed my order in late May and wanted a T-shirt for summertime. With some brand new Misny swag to rock, I had to style a new OOTD and came up with an athleisure ensemble that I wore to lunch at veg+ (Check out yesterday’s post for a review!).

Remember that proceeds from every order of Misny Merch benefits the Cleveland City Mission! Now, let’s get to it:

image_50726657(3)image_50767873(2)image_50764289(1)image_50450945(8)image_50454017(7)image_50732033(3)

Who? What? Wear?

Long sleeved shirt: Misny Merch

Leggings: Express

Balaclava: Steve Madden, TJMaxx

Tie dye tennis shoes: Nike, PacSun

The bumblebee earrings are from Target!

As you all know, athleisure OOTDs aren’t really my thing, even more so since I haven’t ice skated in forever. As odd as it is, this outfit was me stepping outside of my comfort zone! This was a strategic outfit, though, because I knew that I would be with my nieces when I wore it and would be able to chase after the too cute toddlers comfortably. I also chose to go the athleisure route because the Misny Merch shirt is huge on me so wearing it in a more sporty ensemble made sense.

The base of this outfit was so simple to establish. I already had my new shirt in mind and you can’t have an athleisure look without a great pair of leggings. My sister turned me on to the leggings from Express and they are simply the best. I wore them constantly when I skated, I love to lounge in them, and they fit like a glove. I rarely wear leggings in public because I am a die hard black skinny jeans fan and I felt like I was in my pajamas in the best way ever lol. And, trust me when I say that I simply shined when Val insisted on reenacting the “stampede” scene from the Lion King?? So weird haha but I could have ran for days! 😀

With the base of the outfit settled, it was time for shoes and accessories. I went with my purple tie dye pair of Stefan Janoski Nikes and it felt most strange not sporting a killer pair of heels. Then again, it wouldn’t be a sportswear outfit with my go to platforms on! Despite the pop of purple, the outfit was still looking rather plain so I enlisted the help of my new Steve Madden balaclava from TJMaxx. I wore it like a cowl and it was incredibly toasty and added the visual interest that was missing. Finally, I chose a pair of bold, bumblebee studs for an extra dose of cuteness and was ready to take on the day the Tim Misny way!

Lil Red goes athleisure in my Misny Merch OOTD and it was a fun and oh so comfy change of pace. Thanks for the shirt, Tim. You’re the best! ❤

Do you have any merch from one of your favorite celebrities? What is your favorite charity to support? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Hellooooo darlings! We are going to wrap things up with my Misnyland Party OOTD by checking out the blooper reel! Then, keep it locked for a new vegetarian restaurant review, another brand new OOTD, and lots more fun here on lifewithlilred. 🙂 It has been over a week since Johnny and I attended Tim Misny’s fall fest at his home and I honestly still can’t believe it happened. I have watched the video of my interview with him quite a few times and it almost feels like watching a dream! There is nothing dreamy about the following pictures, though, so let’s take a look see and poke some good old fashioned fun at yours truly:

I’ve come to terms with the fact that I will ALWAYS have a random piece of hair sticking up in pictures. *Face palm*

I know, I know – I look freaking awesome in these pictures that it’s hard to believe that I currently don’t feel awesome. In fact, I am suffering from a cold from hell as I type this and literally have a plastic bag hanging on my chair to deposit used tissues in! My Misnyland weekend was a whirlwind and not only was I lucky enough to hang with Mr. Misny, but I also got to spend lots of time with my sweet nieces, Val and Raya. Guys, I love those little girls more than words can say, however, they are the biggest bio-hazards on this good Earth lol.

This past Friday, I had dinner with Johnny, my sister, and her fam and on Saturday we all got together again for lunch. My fave little ladies both had a bit of a cough and I figured it wasn’t that big of a deal until their germs caught up to me! For the past few days, I have been Sneezy, Snotty, and Coughy – those are some of the names of the Seven Dwarfs, right? I am one of those people who would rather have the flu than have a cold so I have been a Lil Red mess. That will never stop me from creating daily content, though, and even while I feel like ass my loyalty always lies with lifewithlilred. I just don’t understand how those little kid germs hit so hard every time!

Looking good feeling awful, amiright? On the bright side, this cold sponsored by Val and Raya happened well before Thanksgiving. Nothing will stand in the way between me and my beloved green bean casserole, damnit!!

Have you been sick yet this season? What are some of your remedies to get rid of a cold? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Misnyland Party OOTD Bonus Pics

Hellooo everyone and welcome to some bonus pics from my Misnyland Party OOTD!! Johnny and I spent this past Friday afternoon hanging out with Tim Misny at his appropriately named estate “Misnyland”. Rubbing shoulders with one of Ohio’s biggest local celebrities was due to a contest I won and all I can say is, your girl knows how to style an OOTD! 😀 Speaking of OOTDs, I knew I had to pull out all of the stops for this party and I was feeling my damn self in my new 7 For All Mankind dress. So much so that I have some extra content to share with all of you! Check it out:

image_50447361(3)image_50432001(8)image_50461953(6)image_50747649image_50750977(1)image_50454529(7)

After our afternoon at Misnyland, Johnny and I decided that we would take pictures on the way to his parents’ house. There really wasn’t anything noteworthy to post up by except for oodles of churches so we figured we would take what we can get. Granted, if we both didn’t burn up within five feet of the house of worship we picked lol. Obviously, we both lived to tell the tale and I loved how all of these shots turned out. ❤

As you saw yesterday, the church offered gorgeous green doors which is much more lively than my usual brick walls haha. What I liked best, however, was the huge courtyard in front with brick paving and greenery. It looked so pretty and I’m sure it looked even better during the summer or when all of the leaves from the trees hadn’t hit the ground yet. Either way, it was the perfect setting to twirl around in and my dress was the perfect thing to wear to do said twirling. The movement of the skirt was so much fun and it was impossible to stand still. There were a lot of duds in this bonus pic shoot, but I was thrilled with the ones that turned out well. Twirling pictures are definitely not my strong suit! 😀

We have seen the good from my Misnyland Party OOTD so it will be onto the yikes tomorrow. Keep it locked for the blooper reel!

Where is your favorite place to take pictures? Do you tend to buy a new outfit before an event? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Misnyland Party OOTD

Misnyland Party OOTD

Hello!! This past Friday, Johnny and I enjoyed a wonderful afternoon spent with Ohio’s very own local celebrity, Tim Misny. This party was at Tim’s home called Misnyland and the amazingly good fortune was on account of an OOTD I created for a contest that was being ran for the launch of the Misny Merch shop. I have never spent time with someone as well known as Tim Misny, let alone be invited to their estate and I knew I had to pull out all of the stops with what I wore. So, I styled this:

image_50401793(4)image_50422273(9)image_50425601(7)image_50393345(3)image_50428417(7)image_50406145(7)

Who? What? Wear?

Faux Leather Dress: 7 For All Mankind, TJMaxx

Cardigan: t/o, TJMaxx

Heeled Boots: Target

Heart Necklace: Meredith Leigh, TJMaxx

The earrings are from Target!

Thanks to the TJMaxx shopping trip that I had before my trip to Misnyland, styling this OOTD was incredibly easy. I found one of my all time favorite TJs purchases, the faux leather snakeskin patterned dress by 7 For All Mankind and it really spoke to me. The shape of this dress was so classic and chic while the pattern and material offered the edge that I love to spice things up. I knew that I would shine in this dress at the party and the infinite amounts of compliments I received proved me correct. I was so flattered!

Since there wasn’t else to do with the dress but put it on, it was onto building the rest of the outfit. Despite the chilly day, I didn’t want to wear a jacket because the dress in all of its glory wouldn’t be able to be seen. So, I opted for a loose knit cardigan by t/o instead. This cardi is literally as old as dirt but it served its purpose well. Yes, I was freezing my nads off – but I looked good doing it lol! I chose this cardigan for its more open design and also for its color. The oatmeal hue matched against the lighter taupe shades in the snakeskin pattern and it really helped lighten things up and made the pattern pop even more.

With the base of the outfit fully settled, it was time for shoes and accessories. Originally, I had planned on wearing one of my longer pairs of black boots, but I decided against that. My dress was a bit longer than a tea length and I wanted to be able to at least show a little skin. I went with a heeled pair of boots from Target that I got for a song. These shoes are also as old as the hills, but they tied in with the dress beautifully and I love the curved shape of the heel. It adds such a unique touch to a fairly basic pair of boots and provided some extra height without going overboard. I didn’t know what kind of terrain we would be on at the party and am so glad I chose a heel with some more bulk because we were on gravel!

The last step was to complete the look with accessories. For earrings, I went with a gorgeous pair of dangly black jewels in a teardrop shape. Since this was a more covered look, I wanted to accentuate the skin that was showing and the earrings framed my face and neck perfectly. I was torn between adding a necklace because part of me liked the open square neckline and part of me felt like something was missing. As a compromise, I selected my tiny heart pendant by Meredith Leigh and it took up space without taking away from the rest of the look. I love all things hearts and this necklace is one of my faves. 🙂

I am beyond thrilled with how my Misnyland Party OOTD came out – so much so that I have some bonus pictures from this look to share with all of you tomorrow. Keep it locked!

What is your go to party attire? What is your favorite pattern to rock? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

New Steve Madden Winter Accessories

New Steve Madden Winter Accessories

Helloooo!!! Yesterday, we took a look at my new favorite dress purchased from my last shopping trip to TJMaxx. That wasn’t the only thing I got, however, and today we’ll be checking out the super fun New Steve Madden Winter Accessories that came home with me too. I have a huge collection of hats, scarves, and gloves for the cold weather and it is safe to say that I am a little bit obsessed with winter accessories. They are such a great way to update your wardrobe without breaking the bank! The selection at TJ’s was excellent and I walked away with an adorable pair of earmuffs and a knit balaclava. Let’s get to it:

image_50367745(2)image_50413057(9)image_50443521(4)image_50394113(4)image_50380801(3)

^^^ Peep the original price tag for the earmuffs. I purchased them for ten dollars. SCORE!!

This was a rather exciting accessory haul for me because I don’t own earmuffs or a balaclava. That is the beauty of TJMaxx – you never know what you’re going to find to spice up your wardrobe! The first thing that my eyes locked in on at the accessory wall was the smiley face earmuffs. How cute are those?! They were over the top, vibrant, so much fun, and oh my goodness were they comfortable on. They fit just right without being too tight and my ears were so toasty and warm. I knew that these would make a vibrant addition to the grey days of winter and the price I got them for was a total steal. 😀

The next thing that spoke to me was the knit balaclava, which is something that I knew existed but have never seen before in store. My new balaclava was something that was instantly appealing to me. I only own one jacket with a hood on it and it isn’t warm enough for winter wear. This was not only a fashion purchase but a practical one. There are some days when I have to go to work really early to get a client to work and it is always freaking freezing when I get in the car. Now, I have a balaclava to help with that – do you know how much heat we lose through our heads?! Not only will this help in the warmth department, but it is such a bold statement piece. Balaclavas are most chic and my new one will add a touch of sophistication to all of my winter coats!

I have no intention of buying a new coat this year and I love that I will be able to freshen my winter wear up with these fab new Steve Madden accessories. TJMaxx, you always continue to surprise me! ❤

What is your favorite winter accessory? How do you update your winter wardrobe? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

New 7 For All Mankind Dress

New 7 For All Mankind Dress

Hello!!! This past Tuesday, I spent a wonderful afternoon shopping with my mom at TJMaxx. We went with the intention of holiday shopping but, of course, we had to pick out some goodies for ourselves too!! My mom walked away with two adorable new sweaters and I had a fun haul with some new winter accessories and the 7 For All Mankind dress that we are discussing today. I was very happy to have found this dress because I had an upcoming event (on Friday the 10th) with a local celebrity thanks to this OOTD. I wanted to go all out for it fashion-wise and I knew that this dress would wow:

image_50451713(4)image_50436097(10)image_50756865(1)

At the end of the day, I could have worn something to my Friday event (Which you will hear more about later!) that I already own. But where is the fun in that?! This was going to be my first time rubbing shoulders with someone famous for more than one minute and I wanted to look my best. Our gracious host is a HUGE deal in Ohio and I wanted the pictures I was going to take to not only speak to that, but my fashion too. After piling my shopping cart full of Christmas prezzies, it was onto browsing the clothing department for anything that spoke to me. I couldn’t believe the stroke of good fortune from the fashion gods themselves when I laid eyes on my new dress! There was only one in my size and it was drop dead gorgeous.

My New 7 For All Mankind Dress is everything that I love when it comes to clothing. Snakeskin is my favorite pattern, I live for faux leather, the shape was flattering, and it was an all around unique piece. I knew for a fact that no one at the event would be wearing something similar and that in itself was good enough for me. But, was it going to look good on me? Thankfully and obviously, the answer was YES lol! As soon as this dress was on, I was sold in a heartbeat. The tea length A-line skirt offered so much playful movement and the pattern was to die for. It looked amazing against my hair – especially with the navy in it. OOTD ideas began swirling through my head at a rapid pace and I always know that I have found a winner if I am being inspired that much in a TJMaxx fitting room!

I will leave my outfit musings out because you will all be seeing the end result very soon and I want it to be a surprise. Keep it locked here on lifewithlilred for all the deets on my celebrity schmooze fest coming this week!

How do you know if a piece of clothing is something you want to buy? Have you ever met a celebrity before? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Holiday Shopping – It’s A Wrap!

Holiday Shopping – It’s A Wrap!

Hello!! One thing that I simply pride myself on is getting my holiday shopping done early AF. I have just a handful of prezzies left to buy, but I am pretty much as good as done and I am thrilled about it. To me, there is nothing better than being able to go into December with nothing to do but relax and wrap gifts up in my apartment workshop. And, let’s be honest, who really wants to go into a store as the holidays approach? They’re all madhouses and the selection is always picked over. If you need a bit of inspo to complete your shopping, here are a few of the things I purchased this year:

Art Gifts:

My nieces and nephew have plenty of toys, so I wanted to steer away from that. Other than just a few toys from TT, I bought some sand art and painting kits for the kiddos that are old enough to do them. Both my older niece and nephew love doing crafts and this was a perfect compromise of something fun that isn’t a new toy to add to their collection. Craft kits aren’t just great for children, but for adults too. There are paint by number kits, rhinestone art, or even supplying the goods for a wine and paint night. No matter your age, it’s exciting to make something by yourself so this is an excellent route to go if you’re in need of ideas.

Gift Cards:

To some people, a gift card is considered a “thoughtless” gift and I say FALSE. Gift cards are the bomb and I am totally fine with giving and receiving them. Don’t let the idea of it being a not well thought out gift deter you from using them because I literally don’t know anyone who isn’t happy to get one during the holidays. Gift cards make a wonderful add on or main gift and it is so nice to be able to treat someone to dinner, a movie, or a shopping trip compliments of you.

Ornament Kits:

During my last shopping trip to TJMaxx, I knocked out a lot of the remainder of my shopping. I was most excited to find ornament kits including one for your pet and one for baby’s First Christmas. If you have a proud pet owner in your life, this would be a really sweet gift for someone to be able to commemorate their fur baby with a paw print ornament. The baby’s First Christmas one was also an awesome find because it will be the first Christmas for my new niece. Thoughtful, effective, done and done.

Books:

The world is filled with an infinite number of books so use them! I purchased quite a few books for this holiday season and I know that they will be a hit with my giftees. Even if the person you’re gifting for isn’t a huge reader, coffee table books on one of their favorite things can make for a unique gift. Or maybe your giftee loves to cook? Pick out a new cookbook and a gift card to their local grocery store for ingredients to cook with! Books are a cool gift because you can add another gift that might fit that book’s theme for a really thoughtful surprise.

Food Gifts:

Food gifts always go over well and I was psyched to have found some nice chocolate gift sets at TJs for my clients’ families. A food gift could be a gift set, sure. But, it could also be a home cooked meal, a mason jar with ingredients for soup or cookies, a gift card to a favorite restaurant, or a meal delivery service. Everyone has to eat and I know your giftee would love a gift basket filled with their favorite ingredients, snacks, or candy!

The holidays are fast approaching and it honestly gives me anxiety that a lot of people aren’t done with their shopping yet lol. I hope these tips will better assist you as you continue to check people off of your shopping list!

When do you start holiday shopping? Are you an early or last minute shopper? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Akron Comicon Haul

Akron Comicon Haul

Hello!! Akron Comicon this past weekend was a blast and I spent the best afternoon with Johnny and my brother. We came, we saw, we shopped and each walked away with a bagful of goodies featuring all of our favorite things. I wasn’t able to attend the Con last year and Johnny surprised me with all kinds of gifts to decorate our apartment with. It felt so good to be able to participate this time around and I am loving all of our new swag! Check it out:

image_50438401(7)image_50397697(2)image_50399233(6)image_50411265(7)image_50408193(4)image_50445825(8)image_50741505(2)image_50426369(3)image_50448385(6)

^^^ The last three posters were made by Vile Consumption and the Wolfman was painted and autographed by Drac of Transylvania Tonight!

It was SO hard to exercise self restraint at the Comicon because there was a ton of merchandise from my favorite fandoms to buy! We’re talking Demon Slayer, Assassination Classroom, horror flicks, Lego, and much more. The first thing I selected was my Funko Pop of The Little Prince. I had no idea that this Funko existed and my brother got it for me in exchange for paying for our tickets. I have countless tattoos from the book and it is a piece of literature (and film) that is very dear to my heart. Best believe it is proudly displayed on our knick knack shelf! ❤

Johnny also treated me to a few little prezzies including the V mini fig from V For Vendetta and the crocheted Plague Doctor. Like The Little Prince, V For Vendetta is another book/movie that is one of my all time favorites. And, also like The Little Prince, I have a buttload of tattoos from V For Vendetta too! The mini fig is perfect and I love that Johnny always knows exactly what I would like without consulting with me. We both fell in love with our tiny Plague Doctor friend and as soon as Johnny saw me give it a cuddle, it was as good as ours lol.

Finally, the Akron Comicon was an amazing place to gather more art for our expansive collection. While visiting with Drac and Countess Carita of Transylvania Tonight, we noticed that Drac had a new piece of his artwork on display: The Wolfman. This was a must buy because we already have all of his other movie monster prints from last year’s Con. Now, we have the Mummy, Dracula, Frankenstein, the Creature From The Black Lagoon, Doctor Jekyll, and the Wolfman all painted and signed by Drac! We also couldn’t say no to the posters by Vile Consumption because they are hilarious lol. I was geeking out over the Sister Act one from The Nun, it wasn’t even a question about the David Pumpkins print, and Trick R’ Treat was an obvious choice because it’s one of our fave Halloween flicks. SAM!!! 😀

The Akron Comicon was a GREAT SUCCESS and I am so happy with all of our fun purchases. I can’t wait to get our new artwork hung up around the apartment! 🙂

What is your favorite fandom? What is your favorite horror movie? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Cute At Comicon OOTD

Cute At Comicon OOTD

Helloooo everyone and welcome to a brand new OOTD here on lifewithlilred! This past Saturday, I attended the Akron Comicon with my big bro, Andrew, and Johnny. We had an absolute blast and I cannot wait for next year’s Con. I have to admit, that I didn’t really know what to wear to this event. I don’t cosplay and I don’t have any clothing pertaining to a fandom except for a hoodie with Michael Scott on it. I also had no idea what the temperature would be like at Comicon – it was boiling at the Brick Convention! So, I just put together something cute and comfy with some help from my brother. The end result? Being told I look like a Pokemon gym leader so I think I won! Check it out:

image_50781185(1)image_50769665(1)image_50740737(9)

^^^ It was hard to get lots of pics at Comicon because it was jam packed!

Who? What? Wear?

Black Clover T-shirt: This is my brother’s and it’s from Hot Topic

Distressed Skinny Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters

Fire Boots: Dolls Kill, Cape Robbin

Comicons are all about repping your favorite fandom and I was SO happy that Andrew let me borrow his Black Clover T-shirt to wear. Black Clover is one of my all time favorite animes and I have been dying for a new season! Although I didn’t see as much memorabilia from it as I would have liked, everyone sill definitely knew the show I was sporting on the T. Andrew pulled through in the clutch because I actually did have on my The Office hoodie at first, but I just wasn’t feeling it.

Knowing while I was at home that I could change into the Black Clover T when we picked up my brother helped me style the rest of the look. Since the T-shirt was going to be big on me, I went with my super distressed skinnies from American Eagle. There’s nothing wrong with a baggy T, but I wanted to be able to show some skin to break up the bulk of it. These jeans helped balance things out and offered a pleasing silhouette between the oversized top and super skinny bottoms.

Since this was my first Comicon, I had no idea about the size of the facility and really wasn’t trying to wear a crazy pair of heels. At the Brick Convention, I made that mistake and it was one I deeply regret because my dogs were barking by the end of the day! For cute and comfort’s sake, I chose my amazing boots from Dolls Kill by Cape Robbin. These boots are absolutely insane and I am SO there for it. They give me Elton John in an anime vibes and I can’t think of anything better than that! My boots are over the top and oversized and their bigger shape gave cohesion with the T-shirt. This outfit would have looked kind of silly with a pair of skinny heeled stilettos. Picture it in your head and you’ll see what I mean!

Akron Comicon was the best and I loved the outfit I put together. It was simple, but effective and I was getting compliments left and right. Here’s to many more years of Cons with my two favorite guys!

What is your favorite fandom? Do you have any merch from your favorite shows or movies? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
