New Black & Ruby Nails

New Black & Ruby Nails

Hiii everyone and happy weekend! It has been over a month since my last fill and I was so happy to finally get my claws prettied up on Wednesday. After what seems like a year of not being in the salon chair, my nails are now back to their normal fierce selves and I am looking forward to another month (And then some!) of wear. Check it out:

rubyyy* Featuring my minion socks!!

I am so in love with the color of my accent nail this time around. So much so that I am even considering getting all of my nails painted that color next time *gasp*. This shade is called Red Carpet and it looks like a freaking blood diamond. I love that the red is so deep that it looks like it is mixed with black. It is so glam in a dark way and I feel so badass I can’t hardly stand it.

As always, my nail tech, Steve, did an amazing job shaping and sharpening my talons and he finished in a record time of an hour and a half, which is most impressive. Steve’s thoroughness and attention to detail is so one of a kind and I always feel completely spoiled after I leave his salon!

What color of nail polish are you wearing right now? How often do you go in between getting your nails done? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Mastering The Art Of Giving A Thoughtful Gift

Standard

Gift buying can be very stressful, whether it’s for birthdays, Christmas, Easter, or the other hundreds of events that seem to take place each year. It’s not that you don’t want to give gifts to the people you love – it’s that choosing gifts for so many different occasions and so many different people can be exhausting and overwhelming. You don’t want to disappoint anybody, but it can often be hard to think of any good ideas. Obviously, your loved ones will say it’s the thought that counts, but that’s the problem – there are no “thoughts” in your head. Until you read this article, of course!

A day out:

One of the best gifts that you can give to a loved one is a day out together. Spending time together is a gift in itself, as cheesy as that might sound. Obviously, you shouldn’t say “I am the present” because that might seem a little as if you forgot to buy a present for the person in question (Plus, you don’t want to sound bigheaded!). But, a day out is certainly one of the most thoughtful gifts you can give somebody if you do it correctly. Think about that person’s favorite place in the world and take them there. If their favorite place is too far away – like a vacation destination in Europe, for example, fear not! Assemble a care package of gifts europe themed and it will spoil them with mementos and a reminder of their happy place.

A personalized gift:

Adding a customized touch to a present tells the person that you made or bought this thing especially for them. This will definitely make an impact on the person for whom you buy the gift, because it lets them know that you put some thought into the present. You could view here if you wanted to get a custom phone case for a friend. You could get a photo of the pair of you printed on it. You could even create a personalized piece of artwork for someone if you have creative ability. Of course, think about what they might like but think outside of the box too! A proud pet parent would love a Dog Mug with their four-legged friend’s picture on it. An exercise enthusiast could get great use out of a personalized duffle bag. As we’ve discussed throughout this article, a gift doesn’t have to be expensive – it just has to be thoughtful. A customized present definitely shows that you’ve put thought into it.

Food (candy and other treats usually work best):

If you’re really panicking about birthdays that are just around the corner, then food is always a safe bet. Everybody loves food of some kind, so just think about the preferences of the person in question and go wild. Whether it’s a Christmas gift, birthday gift, or even a baby shower gift, food is the type of present that works for any occasion you can imagine. Obviously, you’ll need to make sure it’s presented nicely; get some gift wrap, a bow, and perhaps a nice plate (depending on what it is, of course).

Food is a simple gift, but it’s one that is guaranteed to succeed if you know the person well. Of course, it should be an exciting piece of food – a few apples might not be very exciting unless they’re a fruit fanatic. If they’re a fan of sweet treats, however, then those always make the perfect gift. You could even bake your own treats for the person in question. The homemade touch adds some personal flavor to the gift. As mentioned in the previous point, personalized gifts are always very well received.

Drink related gifts also tend to be very well received. Perhaps you could do a smoothie kit with a blender and recipe book? Or maybe your giftee appreciates a drink or two over the weekend. If so, you could check out the Bourbon Boujee Buddy Bottle Bundle or a similar package gift with their favorite alcoholic beverage. The beauty of food and drink presents is that they are sure to be used and your giftee will think of you when they do so.

Yummm!

A nostalgic gift:

If you really want to tug at somebody’s heartstrings, then you should opt for the nostalgic angle when you buy them a present. Show them that you not only remember the recent good times you’ve shared together but the good times you’ve shared over the years. Perhaps one of your parents has a birthday coming up. You could buy them a copy of a board game that you used to play together when you were little. Maybe it was lost somewhere along the line, so it’ll be a sweet gesture to give your parents a new version. Or maybe you could find some old photographs of you and your childhood friend – reminding them that you’ve always been close friends and you always will be.

artt2

Board games provide hours of fun, too!

Concert tickets:

As you’ve probably gathered by now, the most thoughtful gifts are ones that show you know or care about the person in question. That’s why a concert ticket to see their favorite artist is such a great idea. It combines a few of the things we’ve discussed already. It could be a fun evening out for you and your buddy, but it’s also a thoughtful gift because it shows that you know them well. Plus, the joy of seeing their favorite musician will be a great gift in itself.

Gift buying can be stressful with all of the occasions to present presents for throughout the year. But if you put some thought into it, you’ll be just fine!

House Buying Considerations: Is Bigger Always Better?

Standard
House Buying Considerations: Is Bigger Always Better?

When it comes to choosing a home, most of us want one thing arguably above all other considerations: space. There’s an inherent association between a property being nice and a property being large; an association so strong that many of us struggle to see smaller homes as particularly attractive at all. However, it’s worth considering whether large homes are actually all that we imagine them to be. So let’s try and settle this once and for all: when it comes to homes, is size always important?

YES: Large houses are more aesthetically pleasing

As discussed above, for some people, size is everything when it comes to aesthetics. If you want a good looking home, then bigger most definitely is better in most people’s eyes. If you are of the same opinion, then it’s worth remembering that you will have to live with, and make the most of, the property you choose. You have to love it, so if you don’t think you could truly love a smaller house, then this alone may be a significant enough factor to justify choosing a larger property.

If you are on the market for a larger home, it’s a good idea to start with newly formed neighborhoods as the home sizes are often geared towards families. Enter a search for “new community in Summerlin” (or your local area) to gather inspiration on what you like and what you don’t. Be sure to include your must haves and nice to haves too. That’s going to make your real estate agent’s job much easier as they will be able to narrow down houses that meet your requirements. When it comes to finding the right house for you, you need to have the right people in your corner to help. Whether you’re looking at Knoxville homes for sale or somewhere local, always research for well reviewed real estate agents to make your home buying experience as easy as possible.

NO: The larger a house is, the more there is to clean and maintain

As attractive as a large home may be, there’s no denying that the larger the space, the more time you’re going to have to spend caring for it. More rooms means more cleaning; large yards means more gardening chores – if you’re not a fan of these and other maintenance tasks as listed on https://www.nytimes.com/, then bigger might be rather unpleasant for you.

YES: Big houses can be downsized if required, so they’re more flexible

Some would argue that big houses have a huge amount of flexibility. If you find that you don’t need a large house, then you can always follow the guide to downsizing on https://wrenrealtyinc.com and sell your property. You can then use the proceeds of the sale to buy a smaller house; potentially even outright. In contrast, if you opt to buy a smaller home and then realize you need more space, you’re not going to have the same level of flexibility. While you could use your smaller house as equity towards a larger purchase in the future, you’re still going to need to obtain a much larger mortgage to meet the cost difference.

Few of us think far in the future when buying a home; we think about satisfying our needs and requirements for the immediate future. Thinking a few decades down the line is an important aspect of securing your financial future, so the downsize/upsize issue is one that you will want to consider. However, situations do arise that make it necessary to move house and that’s okay. If your job requires you to relocate, for example, you could fast track your future by using the services provided by cornerstonehomebuyers.com (Or a similar company in your local area) to sell your house for cash. Planning for the future is a necessity but it’s always a good idea to plan for the possibility of change in your life too.

NO: Large houses are more expensive in every regard

If you want to keep your finances under control, then a larger house is not going to help you towards the goal. Larger houses have higher purchase prices, expenses, tax requirements, maintenance costs… the list goes on and on. If you’re budget-conscious to the point where the costs are your only consideration when purchasing a home, it’s safe to say that bigger is most definitely not better.

Having said that, there is still a way to get your dream home that falls under a price that fits your budget. Working with companies like this Gold Coast Buyers Agency (or something similar in your local area) can help you to better narrow down your search so you can spend time visiting homes that fit your budget, preferences, and aesthetic. They can introduce you to properties that you may have overlooked and could be a great resource should your budget be a primary concern.

YES: Large houses are more valuable

This point almost goes without saying, but it is worth noting if you’re intending to purchase your next home as part of an investment in your future. The more square footage a house has, the more potential value it is able to offer. This may be enough of a factor for it to make it worth living with higher maintenance costs, as the potential investment return is more substantial in the future.

When you are considering such a major purchase, it cannot be emphasized enough how important it is to work with a trustworthy real estate agent. They are there to help you save money, stress, and time and should be utilized to their full advantage. If you are beginning the process of shopping for a new house, enter a search online for “top realtor producers in cincinnati” (or your local area) to find the agent who is right for you.

NO: Large houses are often targeted by burglars

It’s obvious why this would be the case; it’s a simple assumption that the level of affluence that allows someone to buy a large house should also mean that they have more possessions worth stealing. Of course, there are ways of protecting your home, and modern home security innovations make this easier than ever. However, it is nevertheless worth considering the potential for enhanced risk of burglary before buying a large house.

Final Thoughts:

As you can see from the above, there are arguments both for and against large houses – so how can you know which is the right decision for you? These points are all things that should be brought up with your Finlay Brewer real estate agent or the local professional you are working with:

  • Which of the facts about is the most compelling to you personally? If you are especially concerned with aesthetics, then a larger house might be the best choice. If you’re more focused on saving money, then a smaller house is more suitable. Focusing on the aspect that is most important to you should help you make the correct decision.
  • Apply subjectivity to your personal situation. For example, if you plan to have children soon, buying a house with more bedrooms than you need right now is justifiable.
  • Ensure that you consider your needs for the current period in your life, but try to keep one eye on the future, as well. Property is an important purchase, so you have to try and think many years into the future. While it’s impossible to predict how things will pan out for you entirely, having some inclination of how you would like your life to progress can be extremely beneficial when making the size decision.
valuee2

Which size of house is right for you?

By combining your personal experience with the inherent truths listed above, you should be able to come to a house size conclusion that is well-informed and tailored specifically to your needs. Good luck!

Appropriate Gifts For All Occasions

Appropriate Gifts For All Occasions

There are many gifts to give for holidays, birthdays, and the like that are simple for you to buy and appreciated by the recipient. Unfortunately, some of these items leave you feeling like you didn’t buy an actual gift or you are left wondering how to present it to the person. Use the following tips to ensure that you are going to please everyone on your gift list this year:

Gift Cards:

Nothing makes a better gift than gift cards. You don’t have to worry about getting the right size or color, and the recipient can shop for exactly what they want. However, it doesn’t look like much of a gift. Be creative and tuck gift cards into coffee mugs along with candy or chocolates. Purchase a decorative box and slip it inside, or give it inside of a wallet to add some panache to the presentation.

Sweet Treats:

If you love to bake, cookies and cakes are always a welcomed gift. Presentation is everything in these situations. Purchase decorative plates to put them on and wrap the treat in cellophane tied with a ribbon bow. You can also place them in a basket along with a Christmas ornament or one of the Jim Shore figurines from Coppin’s gifts during the holidays.

Food:

Food makes an ideal get well gift, new home gift, or holiday present. If you are giving an entire meal, put it in a picnic basket or carrier that they can keep. You could also present it on a dish or platter that you purchase just for them. Take advantage of aluminum covered, disposable bakeware too. Put all of the containers in an insulated bag tied shut with a big bow.

By taking a simple gift and going one step further with it, you elevate items like gift cards, baked goods, and food to a new level. Anyone would be pleased to receive these gifts, and no one will accuse you of taking the easy way out when it comes to gift giving.

Tiny Little Haul

Tiny Little Haul

Hii everyone and TGIF! When it comes to purchasing makeup, I am pretty frugal and try to stick to drugstore brands only. But, that’s a different story when it comes to mascara! I am obsessed with Too Faced’s Better Than Sex mascara and consider it a staple item for when I’m painting my face.

Trust and believe that if there were a drugstore dupe of Better Than Sex, I’d buy it in bulk. But, it was getting to the point that I was mixing at least three different mascaras to get the lashes that I wanted and, even then, they still weren’t as big and bold as I would like. To save myself the concocting catastrophe, I now only buy Better Than Sex and I’m not even mad about it, because my lashes always look amazing. In fact – I usually buy two at a time!

haull.jpeg

Not only am I, for the most part, frugal about my makeup purchases, but I am kind of a cheapskate when it comes to my nails, as well. I normally wait for over a month to get my nails filled and I rhinestone them myself, because I will be a monkey’s uncle if I pay five bucks per nail for some bling!

After restocking my mascara, I had to re-up my rhinestone stash, too, especially considering that I spilled the remains of my near empty bag during my last fill. It costs me a little less than four dollars per bag, and I am able to save at least ten dollars per fill by rhinestoning my nails myself. You can’t beat that!

There is no shame in splurging for things like acrylics or a high end makeup brand. But, it sure makes me feel better about it by cutting the costs on other things with DIY bling or clipping coupons for my drugstore dupes!

What do you splurge on when it comes to beauty products? How do you save money when restocking your makeup must haves? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Fun Facts For Ya

Fun Facts For Ya

Hi everyone and happy Thursday! It’s only half way through April, but I feel like it is dragging on to no end. The weather in Ohio has been snowy one day and springy the next and I just can’t deal with Mother Nature’s mood swings anymore. So, to have a quick and easy post today, which is all I can manage when I’m in the bipolar weather blues, here’s some Fun Facts For Ya:

  1. I just saw A Quiet Place in theaters and it was pretty good! I wouldn’t call it as amazing as everyone else is, but that’s strictly because I’m not a fan of the “creature” related horror films. However, I will say that it was a very unique experience to be in a theater and feel like everyone is holding their breath the entire time, which really mimicked the vibe of the film.
  2. I have been holding off on getting a haircut for the past couple of weeks due to a lack of free time so it has been hats, beanies, and throwing my hair into a little bun all day every day. I’m over it!
  3. Other than fall weather, I love spring time temperatures where you just need a light jacket to feel comfortable. So, hopefully that will get here soon once Mother Nature is done throwing her bitch fit.
  4. This past year, I’ve really been making an effort to drink more water. But, I don’t think I could ever eliminate pop completely, as I am a Diet Coke fiend!
  5. My new favorite place in the world is a bar that I live close to called Quarter Up. It is two rooms filled with old school arcade games and table top board games and it is a blast! We just went for my sister’s birthday on Sunday and it was much enjoyed by all who attended.
  6. I am completely exhausted as I write this, because I had the craziest dreams last night so it was a night of restless sleep. Apparently, I was screaming in real life, which I thought I was just doing in dream form, sooooo that’s weird. Lol, shit.
  7. There is a slew of movies that I want to see in theaters soon including The Strangers, Blockers, Truth Or Dare, and Hereditary. Shockingly, it’s not all horror movies since I threw a comedy in there!
  8. Not to beat this into the ground anymore, BUT I can’t wait for warmer weather so that I can go running outside, which I really enjoy. Walking the hallways in my home to get my steps on my pedometer is getting really old really fast!
  9. I am a sucker for eating out and consistently crave Chipotle, Taco Bell, Indian food, and Mexican food daily. It’s my cross to bear, I suppose.
  10. It is my 24th birthday on June 7th and I am simply dreading it. I wish that I could stay 22 for forever – that was a good year.

Those are just a handful of fun facts about me – and I am looking forward to hearing some facts about you! What are some well or little known factoids about you? Do you have any unique or weird talents? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Back To Your Best: Back Care Advice

Standard
Back To Your Best: Back Care Advice

At one point or another as you get older, you are likely to suffer from some sort of back issue. Our modern lives involve a great deal of sitting down in hunched positions, which can lead to problems further down the line. As well as this, being overweight and having poor posture can all contribute towards pain and discomfort. And, as anyone who has suffered from back issues in the past will know, they can be quite debilitating. So, let’s talk through a few of the ways that you can take better care of your back so that you can reduce your risk of developing problems.

Prior to implementing any changes, it is a good idea to schedule an appointment with a doctor for neck and back pain treatment near you. The solutions might be simple like some of the ones below or they could be more involved. It is important to know that beforehand to prevent your situation from worsening.

Your Choice of Footwear:

It may come as no surprise that high heels cause more stress on your spine, but you may be shocked to learn that ultra-flat shoes like ballet flats and loafers can also be problematic. You should also avoid wearing flip-flops and other backless styles of shoes. All of these footwear types involve you tensing your feet, which will, in turn, put stress on your back. If you are going to wear heels, you are better off wearing small ones (around one inch). Even if you wear trainers all of the time, you need to remember that these wear out over time and will need to be replaced.

Your Workouts:

We have already discussed how a sedentary lifestyle can contribute towards a bad back, but suddenly launching yourself into an extensive workout routine isn’t going to do you much good, either. Instead, you should build up your physical activity slowly if you haven’t done any for a long time. And it is more important to make sure that you are practicing the correct technique – particularly when you are lifting weights of any kind. If you get into any problems, there is more info about a chiropractor here. Regular stretching is also important, especially before and after any workouts.

Your Mattress:

The type of mattress that you are sleeping on every night makes a big difference to the condition of your back. And while you might think that sleeping on a very hard mattress is the best thing if you suffer from back pain, there are actually many studies which dispel this belief. In fact, mattresses of a medium firmness have been found to be best when it comes to alleviating the most common symptoms of back pain. You should also replace your mattress every few years as it will wear down over time and won’t offer the same level of support that it once did.

Your Desk Set-Up:

Many of us have jobs which involve sitting down for hours on end, so you need to make sure that any workstations that you have are set up ergonomically to reduce any back pain issues which could be caused by your desk. You should aim to position your monitor at eye level to avoid having to hunch over to operate your computer. You should also position your chair so that you can rest your feet comfortably on the floor. Get into the habit of assessing your body position on a regular basis to ensure that you are sitting upright in your chair with relaxed shoulders. If you spend more than a couple of hours a day talking on the telephone, it is worth investing in a headset.

How is your desk set up?

Your Baggage:

The bags that you carry around regularly can also play their part in damaging your back and affecting your posture. If you have luggage such as a laptop bag that is always worn over one shoulder, you should avoid always wearing it on the same side as this can cause you to put extra stress it. Better still, you should switch to a rucksack which distributes the weight evenly between your shoulders. It is also worth emptying out your bag on a regular basis so that you are not carrying around any more weight than you need to.

Your Car:

Your car can be a particular source of problems if you spend a great deal of the day driving. Many of the issues are caused by seat set-up, so make sure that you position it to suit your needs and use some extra cushions if you feel like they are necessary. The vibrations caused by the car are a source of problems, so you should make sure to take regular breaks when you can to get out of the car and go on a short walk.

Your Health:

We already mentioned being overweight as a major cause of back problems, so you should take steps to cut down on excess pounds. If you are a smoker, you may be shocked to learn that back pain is on the long list of problems closely associated with tobacco usage. It is believed that smoking reduces the blood supply to the discs between the vertebrae, therefore leading to their degeneration. Too much stress can lead you to retain a lot of tension in your body. You should try to reduce the stress in your life, which can be another contributing factor by engaging in breathing techniques and meditation.

Or yoga!

Back pain is something that you want to avoid at all costs, and these are just a few of the ways that you can reduce your chances of suffering from it.

Everyone likes to feel special and significant; this is a very cheap yet effective way to achieve that.

10 Ideas To Kick-Start Your Business For Summer

Standard
10 Ideas To Kick-Start Your Business For Summer

If you’re someone that tends to notice a bit of a change in your business at different times of the year, then you’ll often need to get creative with your company strategy. Many businesses experience seasonal fluctuations in sales or even their company culture and employee engagement. And, if you’re one of them, you’re going to want to pick up some tips and tricks on how to cope with them, because even the most successful businesses are faced with challenging times. However, the trick isn’t centered around how or when they happen, but how you react and get things back on track. Summer is coming up and it’s time to really work on your business ideas to support the season. But what can you do? Some of the following:

Aim To Go Viral:

Let’s kick off with something that you really want to try and do – and that’s to go viral. It’s safe to assume that you’re going to be on social media, and you probably have some campaigns up your sleeve for summer, too. But if you really want to kick-start your business, you’re going to want to reach a massive audience and get a lot more traction with your posts. Make sure that you keep those tactics in mind when you’re planning out the execution of your campaigns.

Of course, going viral is something that is easier said than done if you are unfamiliar with the world of social media. If this is the case for you, it could be incredibly worthwhile to find a marketing agency like InSync Media to assist you. They will be able to form a cohesive marketing strategy, execute it, and get your posts in front of more people.

Host An Event:

If there’s one thing that we all love during the summer, it’s a good old-fashioned event. And it’s great to have an excuse to throw a big party. Give yourself plenty of time to get planning and establish an event marketing timeline so you can be completely prepared for it. Think about which customers, media outlets, or even influential people you might like to invite. When you host an event, you’re not only going to get people talking about your business at the event itself, but you’ll also get the additional coverage on social media which can give you a boost, too.

Launch A New Service:

You may not be able to launch an entirely new product in a few short months, but you could up your game when it comes to services. Whether you want to offer a personal shopping service online or create a VIP delivery option, it is a great way to shake things up and see a spike in your sales. If you are considering improved delivery options, you will probably need some help. Impacked Packaging helps companies source packaging with reliable services and great prices to match. You and your customers will both be happy!

ten1

Get to planning!

Bring In More Video:

If you’re not someone that tends to use a lot of video in your marketing campaigns or even internally in your business, then this could be something that you change. But don’t worry, you don’t have to be a professional videographer to make this happen. In fact, it’s probably good that you don’t attempt it yourself, because when you bring in the right company, such as www.lifetime-media.com, the quality will be better. Whether you are doing internal videos or promotional material, the use of video is going to give you an exciting new dimension to play around with.

Work With Influencers:

Influencers have an ever-increasing presence in the lives of consumers. These are the men and women that your consumers follow and look to for advice. So, of course, choosing to team up with them to promote your business or to support a launch that you have coming up is going to be a good idea. Make sure that you create a strong strategy for this as www.foundr.com talks through. That way, you’ll be sure to choose the right influencers and be able to get the best results.

Collaborate With Another Company:

You could also think about collaborating with another brand. This isn’t going to be one of your direct competitors, but you could definitely look to work with a company that has a similar audience to you, but perhaps in a different industry. That way, when you launch a product or host an event together, you’re going to be targeting the same consumers, but you’ll also get double the exposure by tapping into their engaged audience, too.

Create Limited Edition Packaging:

Everyone gets excited when the word limited edition gets thrown around. Again, creating a new product might not be manageable for you, but you might be able to launch some spring or summer themed packaging to impress your customers this season. If you are shipping a product like fragrances, tea, or coffee in limited edition packaging, do keep in mind that airtight packaging does not necessarily mean smell proof. You will want to research different materials and seals carefully for the best costumer experience.

In the same breath, you might also want to consider switching up the labels on your products to create a brand new look for old favorites. Businesses like Columbine Labels in Denver (or something similar in your local area) provide custom label printing services. Your labels will be one of a kind and customers will be sure to take note. You could even launch a sale to discount the products with the old labels.

Run A Competition:

Customers always love an exciting competition. So take a look at the best ways to run a successful contest, make some plans, and launch one or two over the summer just for fun!

Start A New Series:

We’ve mentioned your social promotions a few times now, but for a very good reason. It’s very likely that you tend to stick to the same kinds of promotions and the same types of posts. So if you really want to shake things up for summer, then you’re going to want to launch something new. A series is a great idea for this. Whether it’s a range of interviews, thoughts from your teams, or posts based on a set topic, this can be a really interesting way to engage your audience online.

A social media series is the perfect way to introduce something brand new for the summertime. Maybe your homemade skin care line now has SPF and you could work with influencers to promote it. Your food truck might be serving up tasty summer smoothies and could benefit from a professional in food and beverage marketing. Summer is the time to explore and have some fun with your content so don’t wait until the last minute. Start brainstorming now!

Launch A Flash Sale:

Finally, you could think about launching a flash sale. And no, you don’t have to overdo the discounts here. If you want to drum up some excitement, you could hide codes around the website or send out gifts with purchases. Either way, timed promotions like this can often give your sales a boost when you need it the most.

Summer is just around the corner, so get to planning something exciting and new and watch your business bloom.
