Helloooo everyone and happy Hump Day! Welcome to another edition of Woman Crush Wednesday – Amy Winehouse style! I wanted to dedicate this weeks #WCW to one of my all time favorite female artists on the planet…Dearly beloved songstress, daughter, and icon, Ms. Winehouse has moved my soul with her music and incredible spirit and I wish she were still here today. So this ones for you, Amy. Rest easy.

Dear Amy Winehouse,

A documentary about you called Amy is coming out on Friday and I have to admit that I’m pretty excited. I’ve missed seeing videos of your performances, media coverage (only the good ones!), and photos of you. I just miss you in general, so it will be a joy to see you again from a big screen at the theater. I’ll never forget the first time that I heard “Rehab” on the radio and I can vividly remember thinking “who is this girl?” I had to know more about you and so I dived headfirst into your music and have never looked back. I never heard anything like your voice before and it had this amazing ability to make me feel very deeply every single emotion that you described in your songs. I could feel your heartache, your anguish, joys, sorrows, and triumphs and it was always a beautiful experience. Your talent was a one in a batrillion person gift and there will never be anyone like you ever again. It always cracked me up when I would watch you perform and see such a small girl with a big gigantic voice. It made you even more appealing to me to be able to watch this tiny little thing belt out pure power and genuine strength. You were such a gorgeous soul and woman and the world misses you more than you could even imagine. I, for one, miss you terribly! I just adore you to pieces and I hope you’re smoking a big fat cigarette with a clear and peaceful mind where ever you are. I LOVE YOU!!!!

Dear Britney Spears,

Oh Britney, you gorgeous little doll, you. You are the epitome of fabulous and words can’t express how much I adore you. I grew up listening to your music on mediums ranging from Radio Disney, MTV, Hit Clips, and everything in between. You were my first example of what a super star really is and you showcased that beautifully. Each and every single one of your songs is iconic in their own right and don’t even get me started on what a legend you are. Pictures of you adorn both mine and my sister’s bedroom walls and all of your albums are safely stowed in our cars and iTunes. You are such a stunner and it’s been a joy watching you grow up as well as your two precious little boys! My sister and I are your number one fans and we both love you so much!!!

If The Shoe Fits – Juicy Couture Edition

Helloooo everyone and happy Saturday! So if there’s one thing that Lil Red loves, it’s shoes, shoes, and more shoes! With a collection of almost fifty shoes and counting it’s safe to say that I’m a big fat shoe SLUT…and that’s so okay with me! I thought that it would be fun to introduce a new segment to lifewithlilred and I fell in love with the idea of discussing all of my pretty little shoe babies one by one. The idea for “If The Shoe Fits” was conceived last night, so welcome to the first edition – Juicy Couture style!

^^^ They’re so pretty!!!

I had lots of different shoes in mind to talk about first, but I thought that my Juicys would be appropriate to help ring in the new segment considering I wore them yesterday and got at least ten compliments on them. I got these bad boys about a month and a half ago at Kohl’s for around sixty dollars and I haven’t been so happy with a purchase in a long time. These funky wedges are SO unique and I’ve never seen anything like them before, therefore, I had to have them! It was truly love at first sight when I saw these pretties for the first time and the love grew deeper when I slipped the size 6 1/2 on and they fit like a glove. After they were on my feet and I could examine them in the mirror and strut about in them, I knew that they were going to become one of my favorite pairs of heels…and I was right! There’s something about my Juicys that remind me of bowling shoes and I can’t put my finger on it. Some of you might find that as a turn off, but not me! When I was in high school, I bought a pair of bowling shoes from the Goodwill and best believe I rocked them like no other! So clearly, Lil Red is pro bowling shoes, pro wedges, and pro Juicy Couture to the extreme!

When I was wearing my pretties yesterday while I was out and about I got so many compliments that I can’t even keep track of them. One lady told me that she usually “wasn’t one to go gaga over shoes” but mine were the exception! So I guess that’s how you know that they’re fabulous! I love wearing my Juicys with sweet floral dresses and my black super skinnies. My featured image photo is from my brother’s graduation last month where I broke my wedges in for the first time…It was a historic event. The graduation was a historic event…and so were the shoes! 😉

Oh sweet Gwen, you beautiful little starlet! I so admire your talent and your amazing fashion endeavors. I had the pleasure of seeing you perform in No Doubt when I was fifteen and was blown away by your show-woman-ship and rockin bod. So for that, it is only fitting that you receive a hubba hubba! Everything that you do, I love – fronting No Doubt, your solo career, coaching on The Voice, and all of your amazing clothing lines. I have countless Harajuku Lovers purses and fragrances as well as your perfume for L.A.M.B.! You are so fabulous and creative and I always look to you for celebrity style inspiration. Thank you for giving me music that I can sing poorly to while driving the Little Red Love Machine. Thank you for creating clothing lines to bring some of your flawless style to a gal in Akron, Ohio. Isn’t She A Model Or Something?

Heyy everyone and happy Sunday/Father’s Day to all of the dads in the world! So during a recent hang out with one of my friends he told me that him and his coworker had a conversation about me. Initially I was like “Oh Jesus” because that made it sound like the conversation was a bad thing, but thankfully I could breathe a sigh of relief because their little chat was actually very flattering! Apparently I’m Facebook friends with the guy who my comrade was talking to and when my name was mentioned he said “Oh, I think I know her – isn’t she a model or something?” I thought it was so sweet and then it reminded me of the countless messages that I get on Facebook weekly asking me if I’m a model or telling me that I should model. Usually I just laugh these compliments off, but secretly (not so secretly now since it’s on my blog!) I really would like to try my hand at some modeling. I suppose I would be pretty good at it and apparently a lot of other people think so too! But to set the record straight, as of now I am no model “or something” – merely just an average gal blogging an average blog! This is also just a round about way of saying how totally thankful and flattered I am for everyone’s lovely comments and compliments…it’s always much appreciated! That being said I think I really should get some photographs taken of yours truly – something that looks professional and not so obviously taken from my iPod by my beloved mother! Lol if anything it will be fun to post on here to show you guys. I’ve actually had quite a few people offer to photograph me, but their body of work is all very risque and that’s definitely not my thing. I’m all about the quirky, sassy, and clothed!! It’s definitely frustrating when my inbox is filled with people wanting to take my picture with my ass hanging out, but what can you do? …Politely decline – that’s what! And believe me, I’m sure that none of ya’ll want to see me in my skivvies! But for the time being I’ll just throw some oldie but goodie pics of me up on lifewithlilred and see what happens. You never know, Tyra Banks might call me for her millionth season of America’s Next Top Model or something! 😉 HOLLA!

Whatsup everyone and happy Hump Day! Ohmygod guys, homegirl just worked up a sweat. I just finished a timed exam that was an hour and a half long in one hour and twenty-eight minutes. I seriously feel like I’m going to have a heart attack!! But luckily that’s all over and now as I kick back with Madonna’s “Like A Virgin” playing on the ol’ iPod I can get my blog on. Today is Woman Crush Wednesday and after completing season three of Orange Is The New Black two days ago I need to give a #WCW shout out to the beautiful Miss Ruby Rose!

Last time I did a #WCW post on here, it was for my sister…but that post was made out of love and not in the crush way which would be weird considering she’s my sister. However, you are my legitimate woman crush. I described my school girl swooning over you to my friends as “the way I could imagine a teenage boy would feel” and I am not mad about it for a second. You are simply stunning. You have a one million kilowatt smile, perfect skin, the coolest haircut ever, and a rockin bod. Can I get a hubba hubba and an amen? As soon as your character was introduced on #OITNB my heart basically fell into my butt and I couldn’t watch you play Stella without the worst case of puppy dog eyes ever. One More Picture Of Me…Hurray ;)

Lol, heyyy guys. As you can tell by the title, another pretty pic of me got uploaded so I wanted to share it really quick! (Photo credit goes to Kate Powell, holla!) Take a look:

^^^ The pasty pale is SO real in this photo and I completely love it!! I also hate to brag, but my lashes look really great in this picture! Applying ten minutes worth of mascara every morning really does pay off apparently! #lashwhore I’m sure you guys have noticed that I wear my black cross earrings in literally every photo I post on here, and that’s because I wear them every single day. These earrings are my all time favorite! Sometimes people ask me “But Sarah, you’re a hardcore atheist, why are you wearing cross earrings?” My reply is always something along the lines of “I like them because they’re edgy and cool and crosses don’t necessarily symbolize religion.” But that’s neither here nor there – the point is: I love these earrings, and until I find a new pair that I’m hopelessly obsessed with, I’ll be wearing them for forever! As you guys have seen from all of my pictures, I am the epitome of “white” haha my pale skin puts vampires to shame. Therefore, I’m on the hunt for a super cute parasol that I can carry around this summer as a fashion statement and to protect myself from the sun. So I need your help…If you know of any cool websites that carry vintage-esque parasols, PLEASE let me know!!! Thanks! 🙂

^^^ Love, love, love. I’m a fan of every single picture that Kate took, but I’m particularly fond of the ones that she put in black and white. As you already know, both of us have a deep love for putting the black and white filter on basically every picture we take together! I’m not sure how many more pictures Kate will be posting online, but if I get my hands on a few more, best believe that I’ll be posting them on here for your viewing pleasure! So today my sister asked me if she could be my “Woman Crush Wednesday” to which I replied “I’m my own Woman Crush Wednesday” (classic Sarah!)…But secretly, Kristen is always my WCW and my Woman Crush Every Day (WCED) for that matter, so take a look at this major hottie!

^^^ Damn!!! My favorite picture is the last one because it really captures Kristen’s true beauty. :’) (PS: The dress that Kristen is wearing in my featured image photo is what she picked out when we went shopping at Urban Outfitters during our weekend in Wisconsin. So cute!)

I love my beautiful, sweet, sassy, super, gorgeous, pretty, hot, annoying, smelly, and smart sister more than anything. She’s my best friend, she shares my DNA, and she touches my butt sometimes when we cuddle. :*) Who could ask for anything more in a sibling and in a #WCW? Monday Update: Online Shopping, Lil Red Style!

Hello, hello everyone and Happy Monday!! I hope all of you had a terrific weekend and a lovely Mother’s Day! I did some cleaning out of my vast closet this weekend and hit up Plato’s Closet this morning to get rid of some of my clutter. Before I drop off the items that they didn’t want to purchase at the Goodwill, I wanted to give all of you gorgeous readers the opportunity to get to them first! (And speaking of Goodwill, make sure you take a look at my article “Thrift Shop Fun At Blue” to read all about my amazing thrifting experience this past weekend!) So pull up a chair, get comfy, and check out this cute dress and jewelry that I have up for grabs. And as usual, here’s the breakdown of each item and where they’re from!

  • Sheer dress: Lux, size Small (Forgive me for forgetting where I purchased this bad boy!)
  • Beaded pendant choker: I got this beauty in a fair trade store in Chicago. If memory serves me correctly it was made in Africa.
  • Beaded floral choker: This fun little piece was purchased from The Market Path in Akron, which is another fair trade store. Once again, if memory serves me correctly, this necklace was made in India.
  • Knick knack necklace: American Eagle

The Lux sheer dress is seriously so cute. It looks darling under a black slip and paired with some funky wedges. The gap backed detailing is especially fun and the eyelet button on the back neckline is another sweet little add on. I love fair trade shopping too much, particularly fair trade jewelry shopping as you can see! Nothing is better than buying some great pieces that go to an even better cause. While cleaning my closet this weekend, I went through my jewelry collection so I could try to dwindle it down because it was getting out of control. Despite how cute all three of the necklaces I have up for grabs are, I rarely wear them and they’re just taking up space.
