Couples Costume OOTD Bloopers

Howdy!!! Johnny and I absolutely rocked our Halloween costumes this year and he was the perfect Lord Licorice to my Candy Queen. We had so much fun dressing up together and, for once, I didn’t have to beg him to take pictures with me. That was the best treat of all! So, today, we are going to take a peek at a Blooper Reel that doesn’t just feature myself but my main squeeze too. And big ups to Johnny for being the best Blog Husband ever! Let’s get to it:

When I call Johnny my Blog Husband, I mean it in the most affectionate way possible because he truly is. We have been together for over five years and if he were the one typing this he would say it feels like an eternity lol. Regardless, we have been together for more than half a decade and in that time, Johnny has always taken my OOTD pictures without fail. In fact, when we got engaged he used my blog as a ploy…

The day we got engaged, Johnny suggested that we go explore downtown Cuyahoga Falls and we could take pictures of each other and us together with a tripod. I was beyond ecstatic by his idea because I had always wanted to style and photograph him. After our outfits were on point, we went on our adventure and I didn’t even have an inkling about a hidden agenda because we were having an amazing time. I was literally reveling in the experience because I normally have to ask him to help me create content – not the other way around!

After we were done shooting in different locations, Johnny said there was one last place we should take pictures at. He led me to an arch right by the Cuyahoga River and set up our tripod to take a video so we didn’t have to bother with the timer. Then, he told me it would look really nice if I faced the opposite direction. I STILL didn’t have a clue what was going on because of the elation I felt lol Johnny rarely directs me when we take pictures! Once I was turned around, he let me think we were both actively posing. But, really, he was getting down on one knee. You could only imagine my surprise when he told me to turn towards him. It was one of the best, most joyous moments of my life – all thanks to my Blog Husband extraordinaire! ❤

My Johnny is the most wonderful man in the world and I get ALL of the warm fuzzies whenever I think about our engagement. OR just thinking about him in general, which is constantly! ❤

Autumn Errands OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the Blooper Reel from my Autumn Errands OOTD! During the work week, you are never going to find me with a full face of makeup or wearing anything but Misny Merch lol. The weekend, however, is my time to shine! Regardless of if I wear the outfit all day or change into my pajamas immediately after, it always feels good to get dressed up. In this look’s case, I was absolutely back in my PJs as soon as we got home from Spirit Halloween. Short lived, yes. Still cute? Definitely! Maybe not these pictures, though…

Having a partner who revels as much as I do in Halloween like Johnny is truly a gift. We live for it and no matter how we spend Halloween celebrating, it is never not a good time. One thing we particularly enjoy is helping out with Trick or Treat in my parents’ neighborhood as my apartment community doesn’t participate. We come armed with bags and bags of candy, Johnny prepares a big bonfire, and then we sit back for a viewing of the costume parade.

In my youth, my siblings and I would literally wear the exact same costumes every year until we outgrew them. They were all super generic, but no one could tell me NOTHING in my Discount Drugmart princess costume lol. It is a scientific fact that the costumes from our trick or treaters put my old duds to shame and there is nothing cuter than seeing all of the kiddos in their Halloween best. We have seen several noteworthy costumes throughout the years, but one specific instance always is the first to pop into mine and Johnny’s heads. There was a two or so year old dressed up as a cup of coffee and her parents were baristas. When we offered her the candy bowl, her parents asked her what piece she wanted. Then, the girl pointed her little finger and declared “DAT ONE”. We still find ourselves saying it years later!

Chilly Day OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Chilly Day OOTD! These pictures were taken before an amazing afternoon with my main squeeze. That day, Johnny and I drove to Burton, Ohio so he could be a featured musician on the PBS show The World According To Polka. It was the best experience and Johnny absolutely crushed. I always say that we are a power couple but that week further solidified the sentiment. While Johnny filmed for PBS on Monday, one of the videos that I shot for Tim Misny aired on CBS that Friday! How cool is that?! Thankfully, none of these yikes shots were on TV so, naturally, I put them on my blog instead. Lol, check it out:

Who’s up for a game of Peek A Boo?!

A bow or a potential face plant? The world may never know! End scene.

During the work week, I feel like I am ALWAYS driving and that’s probably because I am. Driving to the homes of clients, driving clients, making the voyage to Misnyland, errands, appointments, it’s never ending. With the amount of time I spend in the Little Red Love Machine, you would think that I would listen to a book tape or perhaps a podcast. While Johnny loves them, they are not my bag at all. So, I opt for radio stations that play either rap (My favorite!) or Top 40 hits. Do I enjoy what I listen to? Not always – it often feels like there is literally nothing on. But, the music I do hear keeps me company and is familiar enough that I can perform solo concerts in my whip. It’s fun, keeps me alert and focused, and makes constantly being in my car something that doesn’t feel like a complete chore.

One thing that I have been living for recently as I listen to the radio is a new emergence of pop singers. IE: Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, and Chappell Roan. I was born and raised on Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera and have never stopped loving them. These new gals on the scene bring such a fresh take to old favorites and I am so there for it. As soon as I hear ANYTHING by my three main baddies on the radio, it’s game over. I transform into lead singer, backup singer, and musician at the drop of a hat. I’ve got to say, I sound excellent (Not) and maybe Sabrina, Olivia, and Chappell could learn a thing or two from Lil Red (Still not)!!

It’s basically one person Carpool Karaoke all day every day for yours truly. It’s a lot, yes. But, when the jams are on nobody can tell me NOTHING!!

When it comes to my preferences for TV shows, it’s a mixed bag. Yes, I love me my horror and true crime programs. I enjoy game shows, comedy series, documentaries, and political satire reports. I do, however, have a huge guilty pleasure – that being reality TV. Sometimes, I am just in the mood for something I don’t have to think about and reality TV checks all of those boxes. It’s mindless, can be funny, and always promises to be juicy. I take great pleasure in discussing these types of shows with my best girl, Kate. During our last FaceTime gab session, she told me about a show I just have to watch called The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Right off the bat, I told her that sounded dumb AF but she insisted. Because I trust Kate with my life and TV choices, I decided to give it a go and… I. Was. Obsessed.

Long story short, this show is set up like a Desperate Housewives series and revolves around the Mormon gals of the popular TikTok channel, MomTok. As you can imagine with any close group of girls, things aren’t always what they seem and it was drama central. I was SO there for it and was hooked within minutes. The scandals, the different personalities, and all around different culture piqued my interest. What I liked best of all wasn’t so much the drama as it was delving into social media as I could relate to a lot of it being a professional myself. Before I knew it, I had binged the entire series and Kate and I are eagerly awaiting Season Two. I have ate my words about my initial sentiments on the show and am now recommending it to everyone. And, if you do or did watch it, hit your girl up so we can gossip!!

Just because The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is wrapped up for a while doesn’t mean there’s not still plenty of dirt going around and you already know I’ve been keeping tabs. Bring on Season Two, baby!

On The Move OOTD Bloopers

I even got all dressed down for the occasion, which is something that rarely happens in a normal OOTD post. Hey, sometimes you’ve got to shake things up – exactly what the blooper reel is all about! Johnny and I are avid fans of scary movies and we watch them all year round. They just hit different during spooky season, though! Every October, Johnny and I attempt to watch a scary movie per day to complete the thirty-one movies in thirty-one days challenge. Have we ever completed it? Absolutely not, but we sure do like to try lol. If nothing else, it gives us something to look forward to when we are both home from work and up for a movie screening.

As per our tradition, we alternate between who is picking the movie. Thank goodness because I think we would spend all evening deciding if we went with the mutual option route. Johnny and I have extremely different tastes in scary movies. He loves a slasher and the dumber the better (Winnie the Pooh Blood & Honey, anyone?). Myself, on the other hand, much prefers dark psychological thrillers. They might not always have a jump scare aspect to it, but I really like that they make you think. We are definitely in for an… interesting array of movies all October long!

Regardless of what we watch, I so enjoy a cozy evening in with my main squeeze. Even if he makes fun of me every time I’m startled (Which is often)! 😀

Werk At Work OOTD Bloopers

Today, we are going to take a look at the bad and the yikes that came from a speedy shoot before I had to be at a content shoot. On Saturday, Johnny and I had a delightful treat day with our eldest niece. She recently started kindergarten and we are SO proud of her, so we just had to take her out and celebrate. We visited an indoor amusement center that features arcade games, laser tag, roller skating, trampolines, rides, etc. Her favorite thing is the gigantic playground smack dab in the middle of the facility. It is basically a McDonald’s PlayPlace on steroids and it seriously looks like the funnest thing ever lol. Unfortunately, us big people could only hang on the bottom floor of the playground… Until this weekend, that is!

As Johnny and I watched our niece explore, we both agreed that we really wanted to go down one of the enormous slides. We were the only people in the play area so we figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask the attendant and he said… NO. -_- Of course, we understood but were secretly peeved about it so we activated stealth mode. As we were standing around, Johnny clocked that the attendant had his back turned and told me he was going to go down the slide anyways. Like a thief in the night, he made his way up the towering structure and was simply gleeful when he emerged at the bottom of the slide. And, as the ride or die that he is, he stood guard as I took a trip down the slide too. We felt most cheeky with our small act of rebellion and it was one thousand percent worth it – that slide was amazing!

One of Johnny’s favorite things to do when playing video games is “being sneaky” and it definitely translated in real life. We all had the best day!!

Date Day OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Date Day OOTD! Johnny and I got all prettied up this past weekend for an afternoon on the town and we had the best time. We have been together for over five years and married for three of them. I still get butterflies when I see my main squeeze and it makes even the most simple outings of shopping and lunch feel special. Everything about our day was perfect… minus these blooper shots, anyways! Lol check it out:

This little story has nothing to do with date day, but everything to do with what is currently happening in my apartment at this exact moment. It is six in the morning as I type this and it’s raining cats and dogs out. I absolutely love rainy days and my bunnies, Melvin and Penelope, really enjoy them too. Normally, they are pretty rambunctious in the morning and are getting into adorable mischief. When it rains, however, they shift into pensive mode and use that time to have their bunny reflections.

One of Melvin and Penelope’s favorite spots to chill is behind their hutch next to a big window. Said window offers a four inch or so sill that they always try to chew on and requires constant intervention… Except for when it rains! Rather than chew, the bunnies will put their little front paws on the ledge and watch the weather. It is basically the cutest thing ever but I can never get a picture of it before they beeline away! The running joke between Johnny and me is that it would be SO funny if we could capture this moment while “Thank You” by Dido plays in the background. If you are unfamiliar with the title of the song, you might recognize its lyrics of:

Long story short, that is what is going on in real time at chez moi and it definitely gave me my laughs for the morning. Our rainy day bunnies will never not be funny to us!

Howdy everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Hello, Yellow OOTD. This look was worn on a mad dash of a ten plus hour work day and I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. I am pleased to report that I made it through and even put together a fun little look too! Like the theme of the day, taking OOTD pics was a rapid fire process. Have you had one of those “are you freaking kidding me?” moments recently? I definitely did this week! My brother and I like to hike together as often as we can. It is great exercise and gives us the chance to chat away or not say anything at all. There is a wonderful trail right down the street from us and it is one that we frequent regularly. We always thought it was strange when we visited the park that we had to walk a good quarter of a mile on a street to get to the trail itself. And, every time without fail, I would bring up that it was like we were in a horror movie.

Because of the process alone of getting to the trail, we never finished the path in its entirety. However, we are completing a Fall Hiking Spree and we both had enough energy that we decided to go for it this time. We walked, and walked, and walked some more. I had a minor heart attack when a snake slithered by me on the path but we trudged along as my blood pressure sky rocketed. Shortly after, we both realized that we had no idea where we were because the trail is anything but well marked. All that we could do was keep walking and eventually, we ended up at a parking lot that was infinitely closer to the trail. This entire time, we could have avoided the odd on the street trek had I known said parking lot existed. It’s nice to know now SMH!

This hike introduced us to a brand new world. Well, a brand new parking lot anyways. But, hey, we still had a blast and got a killer, albeit longer work out to boot!

Hello everyone and welcome to the blooper reel to my Super Casual OOTD! Thankfully, Johnny and I took these pictures before leaving for our niece’s second birthday party and not after. Not five minutes into the gathering, I spilled juice on my shirt. This is absolutely TMI but I had to walk around the party looking like I was lactating for two hours lol SMH. Despite this faux pas, a wonderful time was had by all and hopefully my boob stain wasn’t too noticeable! And, of course, the pics we are about to see are nothing short of a faux pas too. As summer draws to a close, I realize that I did not achieve a stereotypical “bikini body” this year. Or any year, as a matter of fact lol. This is okay because a true bikini body is just a body in a bikini. However, I have to admit that when I wore the crop top above, I was a bit self conscious. My tummy is far from perfectly flat and I am perfectly aware of it. I guess I was just a little more aware of it that particular day. But you know what I did? I wore the crop top anyways! Because at the end of the day, who cares? I still felt good in the top and that was all that mattered to me.

While I contemplated my belly, I thought about how different my body is as a thirty year old woman as opposed to when I was twenty. Was my stomach flatter back in the day? Absolutely. But bodies change and gaining some extra pounds comes with aging. I also considered my activity throughout the week. I have an incredibly strenuous work schedule and I try to go for a walk or hike at least four days a week. I asked myself if after all of that, did I really want to work out once I’m home from work and the resounding answer was a HARD NO!

During my whirlwind body thoughts, I came to the conclusion that I am happy with how I look and that is a beautiful place to be. Yes, I did initially feel self conscious in the top. But, I thought about it carefully and weighed my options. With that, I decided that there is nothing more for me to do than wear whatever I want, when I want. It was a liberating feeling and when I was done having my think session, I felt much better than I did before. And, when next summer rolls around, my bikini body will be ready. All I need to do is add a bikini. 🙂

Sweet Surprises: Halloween Decor Galore Edition

Hello!! Whenever Johnny and I are running errands, we like to pick up little tokens of affection if we see something that reminds us of each other. It could be a new record, a book, or even a candy bar to share for dessert. Whatever it is, it’s always exciting to return home and say that we have a surprise. This past week, Johnny stopped at Marc’s which is a discount grocery store in our neck of the woods. He had a few odds and ends to pick up as well as this silly little something that was hanging up at my work station once I got home:

As soon as I saw this wine related sign on my computer chair, I couldn’t stop laughing because I knew exactly why Johnny got it. Yes, I do love wine lol. However, the deeper meaning behind it is a nod to one of our favorite Saturday Night Live skits. Long story short, a family is celebrating a special occasion. The children and husband present the mom with wooden signs that have phrases on them. Think “Live, Laugh, Love”. As she continues to open the presents, the phrases get more and more ridiculous. For example, a sign about wine devolves into “I’m a mess and love drinking alone”. We are constantly quoting these segments and Johnny was so pleased to have found something similar and for only a dollar to boot!

This truly goes to show that it doesn’t matter how much you spend on anything, rather it’s the thought behind it. For one dollar, Johnny found spooky decor that reflected one of our running inside jokes and makes me smile every time I see it. My husband was chomping at the bit for me to get home and placed it in a prime position for maximum effect. He knows my routine of going right to the computer after work and had it waiting just for me. As far as I’m concerned, this Sweet Surprise was worth a million bucks because it made me feel like it. I am the luckiest gal. ❤

I didn’t need wine to focus on writing this post, but I sure appreciate the sentiment anyways. Shout out to Johnny for always being the absolute best!
