Best Sister Ever? Best Sister Ever!

Heyyy there and a happy Tuesday evening to all of you! So yesterday my sister, Kristen, texted me with an ominous picture of a cardboard box saying that she got me a present. I was so curious about what she gifted me with and as soon as she was home I ripped the box open to find this gorgeous new mirror:

mirror

Kristen told me that when she saw this while out shopping she just “had to” get it for me…She knows me all too well! I have a deep love for all things Egyptian – if you’re familiar with my site then you’ll know I have a big Isis tattoo piece on my side. So needless to say, I was simply thrilled when I saw this unique home decor piece! I decided to hang my mirror above my jewelry department in my closet boutique so I have a perfect view of what necklace and earrings to wear with each outfit. You can see the new home for my mirror in my featured image photo.

I am so thankful for all of the amazing treats and gifts that Kristen surprises me with. I’m thankful for the times when we lay in bed snuggling or are going out and about to run errands. I’m thankful for any time that we spend together because I know that it’s time spent with my best friend. I hate to brag, but I really do have the best sister ever! ❤

I hope all of you are having a wonderful rest of your day and make sure you tune in for Woman Crush Wednesday: Anne Hathaway Edition tomorrow! Who else has a sibling that’s your best friend? Does anyone else have a love for Egyptian everything? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Monday Update: Follow Up Edition

Monday Update: Follow Up Edition

Helloooo everyone and welcome to the newest Monday Update: Follow Up Edition. I’m writing this update to bring you all of the news on events that I’ve mentioned in previous posts, so let’s get to it so I can keep all of you lovelies up to date on the life of Lil Red!

In last week’s Monday Update, I mentioned that I had an audition for a play called The Boys Next Door, and unfortunately I did not get a part – but I knew I wasn’t going to. Allow me to explain. The play features only one female character so the competition was going to be stiff to begin with, but frankly, I wasn’t even considered competition. I rolled into the audition only to be surrounded by men aged forty-five and up who were trying out for the show. With most of these guys doubling my age, it’s obvious why I didn’t get a part, especially when the female character is a love interest. I’m all for an odd couple, but a pairing of a twenty-something along with someone pushing fifty just wouldn’t look right.

Despite the realization that I wasn’t going to get the part as soon as I walked into the theater, I still gave it my best shot and did very well. I made the director and the auditioners laugh and I really do think that I made a lasting impression. I’m glad that I’ve never been one to throw in the towel during situations like that because my audition was very strong, so maybe I’ll come to the director’s mind when he’s working on a show with a more suitable character for me. If a staggering age gap was not an evident issue, I think I would have been a little disappointed over not getting the part. Lucky for me, I had nothing to be sad about because I knew from the get go that being cast for the show was impossible. Regardless, it was a great experience and an awesome little audition to get me back into the spirit of entering back into the theater circuit!

If you’re familiar with my site, then you’ll know that it was my best friend, Lea’s, birthday this past week! My darling girl turned the big 2-1, so we went barhopping in Kent, Ohio to celebrate. We had the best time doing shots and throwing back fruity drinks to our hearts content. Lea had a great twenty-first birthday outing, therefore, I had a great time too. All I wanted was for her twenty-first birthday celebration to be better than mine and we definitely exceeded that goal! Take a look at how cute we are:

leaaa

In other news, I have a really special post in the archives that will be published hopefully within the week featuring a ukulele strumming duo, Recipe of Life. The sweet girls of ROL, Shelby and Ariel, are a force to be reckoned with straight out of Stow, Ohio and I can’t wait for you guys to hear them! Their music is the epitome of beachy fun, so make sure you keep your eyes and ears pealed for it!

Annnnnd to conclude this Monday Update filled with exciting follow ups, I can tell you that things with my boyfriend, Kyle, are just dandy! 🙂

^^^ This basically sums up how I’m feeling, minus the cocaine. 😉

So there you have it, this week’s Monday Update: Follow Up Edition! How was everyone’s weekend? What are you most looking forward to this week? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Loser

Whatsup everyone and happy Sunday! So yesterday night my darling friend, Tyler, and I were FaceTiming and we had a very enlightening conversation that I would like to share with you. Sit back, enjoy this ironic choice of music, and let’s discuss:

During my chat with Tyler we both were expressing to each other how happy we our with our lives for the most part. This cued us to reminisce on high school and just how much it fucking sucked for the both of us. Saying that we had it rough during the supposed “best years of our lives” is a severe understatement. I had to laugh at one point with him, because this weekend I was interviewing a lovely girl for a new piece on lifewithlilred and she said something along the lines of how she always wanted to be my friend in high school because she thought I was really cool. When I told Tyler this, I followed it with “I don’t understand why, I was the biggest burnout, depressed loser ever in high school”.

After we chortled at my pathetic expense (lol), Tyler told me something that I thought was very profound. “Maybe it’s not such a bad thing being a loser in high school. I mean yeah, it sucked, but I feel like we both appreciate things so much more now”. I seriously couldn’t agree more. Tyler and I are both insanely pleased with where we’re at right now, which made how all of the “cool kids” from high school are doing now worth mentioning. It definitely seems like the tables have turned in a way, with the losers running the world and the cool kids stuck in their still in high school mentality. I’m not gonna lie, this is very gratifying!

The moral of the story? If you are or were a “loser” in high school – don’t fret, because your time to blossom is legitimately right around the corner. All you have to do is wait just a little bit longer and you’re going to be on cloud nine in no time. Now I get that saying to play the waiting game is easier said than done. No one knows how bad high school can suck more than me. But I promise you this, a happier life as a twenty-something is worth the wait. So for the time being: keep your chin up, grin and bear it, and know that two of the biggest losers that the high school world has ever seen are doing just fine now.

^^^ It seemed appropriate. 😉

I hope all of you are having a fabulous weekend chock full of lots of fun stuff! Can anyone relate to this post? Where are the cool kids and losers that you were in high school with at now? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Happy 21st Birthday, Best Friend!

Hellooooo everyone and happy Tuesday! Tomorrow is a very special day because it’s my darling best friend, Lea’s, 21st birthday! Lea and I have been waiting to be 21 together since our friendship began over seven years ago and now that moment is almost here! Some of my all time favorite memories have been with my sweet girl, so take a look at some cute pics and then enjoy a BFF love letter from yours truly:

bff1bff2bff3

Dear Lea,

Happy birthday, my pretty princess! Words can’t even describe how lucky I am to have you as my best friend. From our humble beginnings as little high school freshmen to our full on adventures as freshly turned twenty-one year olds, growing up with you by my side has been something I’m forever grateful for. I’ll never forget this one time when we were both having boy problems a year or so ago and I called you in tears. I came over to your house, we got ice cream, and we laid in bed for hours complaining about how much boys suck. But then something really cool happened – our whining turned into laughter. After we had our fill of chocolate ice cream and moping we got super silly and ended up having a blast. The fact that we can turn a not so great situation into us laughing until we cry really says a lot about our friendship. (That it’s perfect…just like us!)

Throughout our BFF saga, you have instilled such a joy for life in me that I didn’t know was possible. I am so confident that our friendship will only continue to grow and blossom and I can’t wait to see what our futures have in store for us. You are the epitome of beautiful inside and out. Not only do you have such a gorgeous heart but you’re also a real stunner too! Lucky me! 😉 I love you so much Lea, and I hope you have the best birthday in the world because you deserve nothing less! Love, Sarah ❤

I hope everyone is having an awesome day so far! Do any of you have a birthday coming up? What was your favorite birthday celebration? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! And make sure you send Miss Lea some birthday shout outs! Much love. -Sarah

Oh You Crafty, Huh? BFF Canvas Art

Hellooo everyone and TGIF! My laptop is still in the hands of the Geek Squad so this post is being prewritten at the local Cuyahoga Falls library…The things I do for lifewithlilred!! On Wednesday night my darling best friend, Lea, and I had a crafting extravaganza which resulted in the cuteness you see in my featured image photo! We had so much fun getting crafty and now I’m here to share with you guys our how to guide on how to make your own Bird Is The Word canvas art! Take a closer look at both of our creations and then let’s discuss! PS: Brownie points for whoever can guess which canvas is mine and which is Lea’s!

unnamed1unnamed2

Like it? Love it? Want more of it? Here’s the play by play on how to recreate it:

What You Need:

  • Canvas board
  • Paint/paint brushes
  • Silhouette image of your choice
  • Old magazines and newspaper
  • Scissors
  • Glue

Step By Step Guide:

  • Step 1) Paint your canvas. Lea and I both liked the idea of black and white stripes so our picture collage birds would really pop – but any color choice will do!! To get our stripes as straight as possible we held a newspaper to the canvas and painted underneath it once we had our stripe width to our liking.
  • Step 2) Find a silhouette image that you want to make your picture collage over. As you can see, Lea and I stuck with the classic white girl staple image of birds but anything will look awesome…Maybe. 😉 If my crafting partner and I ever make a canvas similar to this one again I would like to use a bird cage silhouette!
  • Step 3) Acquire magazines and newspapers to cut your images for your pic collage. Lea and I recommend using fashion magazines so you have lots of fun colors and patterns to choose from. We opted for three year old issues of People magazine and it was a blast cutting Taylor Swift to pieces for the sake of getting a cool pattern! 🙂
  • Step 4) Once you have enough bits and pieces of magazines to cover your silhouette, begin to glue them down. Fair warning, Lea and I both thought that we had more than enough scraps multiple times but had to refer back to our mags to get more collage material – so make sure you keep your magazines handy!
  • Step 5) Glue your silhouette onto your canvas and pat yourself on the back for a job well done!! OH YOU CRAFTY, HUH?!!! #Ihatemyself

So there you have it, the lowdown on Oh You Crafty, Huh? BFF Canvas Art! Lea and I had the best time during our crafting night and we both want to see if anyone can guess who made which bird! Have you made a craft similar to this one? What art project are you currently working on? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Monday Update: Beat The Heat Edition

Monday Update: Beat The Heat Edition

Heyy everyone and happy Monday! So last Thursday a very exciting occurrence happened that I can’t wait to share with you guys! The night prior around nine o’clock, I got a Facebook message from an old theatre friend, Zach, who desperately needed a girl to fill in for someone who dropped out of a film he was shooting the following day. I hadn’t heard from this kid in years and I was pretty curious about what he was shooting, so I told him to give me a call. We chatted on the phone for a few minutes about his production called Beat The Heat and after our talk, I was sold. The next day, I showed up at his place for some filming fun with a bunch of very cool new friends. Let’s discuss!

Beat The Heat is a fairly simple plot which revolves around a group of party-goers who are in for an unpleasant surprise when they wake up. According to the morning news, a tiger escaped from the zoo and everyone is recommended to stay inside until the tiger is captured. This is all fine and dandy until everyone realizes that the air conditioning is broken. With the house getting gradually hotter throughout the day tensions rise, relationships are formed, and pancakes are shared. The cast of characters includes:

  • Tucker: The douchebag
  • Stacie: The slutty nerd (my character)
  • Nick: A guy who knows nothing about fixing the air conditioning
  • Glen: Canadian
  • And much more!!

Everyone in the cast was so insanely fun to work with and a lot of the scenes included improv so it was very easy to work off of one another. Because all of us clicked so well, rash and ultimately hilarious decisions were made on things that should be included in the film – like the most ridiculous psuedo-sex scene between Stacie and Tucker. Now rest assured, if this scene were being done for the purpose of passion and lust, I would have never agreed to it. BUT, both Zach and I agreed that a silly sex scene is exactly what the movie needs to spice things up a little bit! Honestly, I’m so glad that I did it because it’s going to be so insanely funny and it was actually pretty liberating!

As soon as the film is done being edited, the final cut will be released in December and best believe it will be posted on here! So if you want to see my clothes removed with the snap of a finger, a Canadian melt into a puddle, and the worst tiger sound effects ever – make sure you keep it posted on http://www.lifewithlilred.com for more on Beat The Heat!

I’m not gonna lie, I was initially going to say no to participating in Beat The Heat. I prefer stage acting to film acting any day and I’ve been on a hiatus from acting for over a year. Needless to say, I was very worried about delivering a stellar performance. Thankfully, the acting bug came back to me as easily as riding a bike and it felt so damn good to be doing a physical manifestation of my creativity. I’m so grateful that my friend, Zach, thought of me to fill in on set because I haven’t been this excited about a project in years and I can’t wait to see the finished result!!

So there you have it, this weeks Monday Update: Beat The Heat Edition! I hope all of you are having a fabulous day so far! What was everyone up to this weekend? Anything fun? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

It Was A Good Day

It Was A Good Day

Heyyy everyone and TGIF! Sorry that I was MIA yesterday – Lil Red was a busy gal! Despite the somewhat stressful parts that occurred, I gotta say it was a good day. Let’s discuss:

My day began with running errands until mid morning or so when I had a lovely hang out with my old skating coach, Sarah, and her precious little girls, Charlotte and Brooklyn. It was a surprisingly hot day in Ohio, so we walked over to the local park so Charlotte could play in the wading pool while Sarah and I caught up on all of each others latest news. I always enjoy the times that I get to see Sarah and her darling family. I love all of their company and it’s so fun seeing how much both of the girls grow each time I see them!

Once I got home from the park, I had to finish my last exam for my summer classes…the dreaded math final. DUN DUN DUNNNNNN. All afternoon I checked and rechecked my final until I was satisfied and prepared my scanner at home to send it over to my professor. All summer my scanner worked perfectly and I never had a problem with it, so naturally it would stop working the day I needed to send my final in. For an hour I tried to fix the scanner on my own with the ancient 90’s technique of turning it off and turning it back on as well as unplugging and replugging it. Unfortunately, none of my efforts worked and at that point I was completely freaking out. My exam had to be turned in by the 31st and I refused to use the lame excuse of “my scanner broke” to my professor. I’m sure that an email complaining of technical problems would be answered with “nice try” anyways. -_____-

After lots of deep breaths, I decided to call tech support for the scanner and thankfully after an hour we were able to work together and fix the problem. My final got sent in with plenty of time to spare and I could finally stop having a stress induced heart attack. I think I did pretty well on my math test and I know for a fact that I did great on both my Sociology and Social Psychology class – I got a perfect one hundred on my Sociology final! HOLLA!

After my disastrous afternoon of technical difficulties, I had a wonderful hang out with my sweet friend, Cat, to look forward to. Cat was one of my sales associates at PacSun and she also happened to be one of my favorites! We had a fabulous evening of manicures and martinis at my bar of choice, the Cashmere Cricket. Thursday night is ladies night, so their delicious martinis are only five dolla holla and you can’t beat that! Our night consisted of pampering, girly drinks, and lots of laughs – it was seriously perfect. I’m so glad that Cat and I have remained friends outside of work because I just adore her. You know that you have a good friend when the first thing you say to your mom when you walk in the door is how much fun you had/how much you love your drinking partner! ❤

friendssss

Yesterday was the best kind of busy and for the most part I enjoyed every minute of it! I hope all of you guys had as great of a day as I did! What is everyone up to this weekend? Any fun plans? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Monday Update: Weekend Wedding Edition

Monday Update: Weekend Wedding Edition

Helloooo everyone and happy Monday! I hope all of you had a fabulous weekend – I know I did! I spent the weekend surrounded by my family and friends for the wedding of my brother, Peter, and his wife, Megan. Peter and Megan met each other during their undergrad years at Notre Dame, so my family and I packed up the car and drove to Indiana on Friday for the festivities. Saying that it was a beautiful weekend is the understatement of the century, so let’s discuss!

Friday was a pretty laid back day in comparison to Saturday, which was the day of the wedding. We arrived in South Bend, Indiana around three and then headed to a hotel for a bridal shower for Megan. It was a lot of fun getting to meet all of Megan’s family and her darling bridesmaids, Emily, Keaton, Andrea, and Jennifer. What I enjoyed the most about Megan’s bridal shower was watching her interact with all of her friends and family without Peter there. That was my first time seeing Megan without my brother in a social situation and it made me like her even more! After the bridal shower, we checked in to the hotel we were staying at to freshen up before the rehearsal wedding and dinner. Here’s a few selfies that my sister, Kristen, and I snapped before we left:

wed5wed3

^^^ Lol, I captioned our mirror pic “Just married” on Facebook!

The wedding rehearsal didn’t take long at all, which was great for me because I was SO hungry!! The rehearsal dinner was held at Papa Vino’s – the same restaurant where Peter and Megan had their first date. Papa Vino’s serves family style Italian food and it was so incredibly delicious. Plates and bowls of pasta, pizza, bread, dips, and desserts just kept coming and coming and I ate until I couldn’t take another bite. The evening was full of great food and conversation and by the time it came to an end, we were all beyond stuffed and tired. I was so ready for bed, so I was pretty happy when Megan’s family, my family, and the bridal party parted ways until the following morning for the wedding!

Peter and Megan’s wedding ceremony was held at the Basilica Of The Sacred Heart on Notre Dame’s campus and it is absolutely stunning. I could spend hours looking at all of the artwork and architecture that the church offers. The mass began promptly at eleven, but I was already crying well before then…I was so emotional! Watching Megan walk down the aisle with her father and watching Peter’s eyes get teary was my favorite part of the wedding. Megan looked drop dead gorgeous and Peter didn’t look too bad either! I was pretty shocked that my dad was crying during the wedding, which made my mom cry, which then made me cry. It was a big ol’ sob fest – but they were happy tears! The ceremony was elegant, sophisticated, and completely perfect. Peter and Megan looked so happy and in love and I really just can’t even.

After the mass it was time for pictures with the families and the bridal party. We took some photos in the church and then headed to the Notre Dame football field for some more photography fun. It was so cool being able to hang out on the football field as well as the football teams’ locker room for a Notre Dame style photo shoot. The pictures ranged from the bridal party in huddle formation around Peter and Megan in the locker room to an impromptu football game on the field. It was so fun watching all of these silly scenarios happen and it was such an awesome experience being able to explore the field and locker room. I got a picture in the locker room showers and when Kristen and I were opening some of the lockers we found a pair of boxers and a jock guard…SCANDALOUS!!! My cover photo is the bridal party in its entirety compliments of the photo shoot, starting from left to right: Emily, Jennifer, Andrea, Keaton, Megan, Peter, Michael, Andrew (my brother!), Brian, and Thomas. What an attractive group of people!

wed1wed2wed7

^^^ Take note of how Peter wrote his and Megan’s names and wedding date on the locker room whiteboard! So cute!!!

While the bridal party continued their photo shoot throughout the campus, my parents, Kristen, and I returned to our hotel to prepare for the wedding reception. Makeup was touched up, hair was straightened, deodorant was applied and then we were off to the country club where the reception was held. The open bar cocktail hour began at five and best believe that Kristen and I got turnt right from the get go. By the time dinner was served around six thirty, I was already five glasses of moscato in and feeling wonderful. The vegetarian entree for dinner was excellent, it was a pasta primavera and my only regret is that I didn’t eat more! After dinner, Megan’s dad and my mom gave a toast and then it was time for the father/daughter and mother/son dance. My mom and Peter danced to the best of their ability and it was actually really good! Take a look at some pics of the mother/son dance and the blushing bride and groom:

wed6wed8

^^^ I LOVE THEM!!!

After all of the traditional toasts and dances were complete, the dance floor was opened to everyone. Kristen and I continued to throw back wine and danced our asses off with all of our family and friends. Halfway through the reception I was white girl wasted and I don’t remember much about the rest of the night other than how much fun I had! I do remember falling right on my knee on the dance floor because people kept spilling their drinks and it was really slippery. I now have a nasty purple and black bruise taking up the majority of my left knee. Hurray! I don’t remember breaking a nail. I do remember laying on the floor with Jennifer and Andrea to complain about said broken nail. I don’t remember how many glasses of wine I ended up drinking. I do remember having an amazing time…I also remember mentioning that already! I danced with everyone from my parents, my brothers, my sister, my cousins, Megan, the bridesmaids, the groomsmen, and a bunch of other people whose names I can’t recall. GREAT SUCCESS! (Except for the being sweaty part…that was gross.)

By the time the reception was over, Kristen and I were completely out of it and ready for bed. My family and I drove back to Ohio the following day around noon and returned safe and sound in the early evening. The entire weekend was incredible and I am so thankful to have been a part of it. I adore my new sister-in-law like no other and I’m so excited for what the future holds for the newlyweds! Peter and Megan will be leaving for their three week honeymoon in Italy today and I wish them nothing but blissful fun and safe travels. I LOVE YOU PETER AND MEGAN!!!

So there you have it, the Monday Update: Weekend Wedding Edition! I hope all of you enjoyed reading this post just as much as I did writing it! What was everyone up to this weekend? Anything exciting? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Monday Update: Old Faithful Edition

Monday Update: Old Faithful Edition

Heyy everyone and happy Monday! Sorry that I was MIA this weekend – I was pretty busy with school and reuniting with some of my old tried and true favorite friends. Because of these fabulous hang outs I had an awesome weekend despite one unfortunate encounter! Let’s discuss.

Friday night was absolute perfection minus throwing up for a half hour in my front yard. My darling boy, Seth, took me out for a night of drinking frivolities and heart to hearts. After a bottle of wine and four vodka sours it’s safe to say that Lil Red got white girl wasted! Seth took really good care of a bitch and was such a trooper the entire night, even when I was super sloppy. He’s handsome and kind and a real keeper – especially considering that he had to witness me puking my brains out and made sure that I got in the house okay instead of peaceing out. Seth and I have known each other for over six years now and he still manages to blow me away when I see him. What a guy! Lucky me! 🙂

cuteee

^^^ That picture was from the last time we hung out for my birthday! Isn’t he such a cutie?

On Saturday I woke up with the worst hangover in the history of ever, so I spent a lot of the morning and afternoon laying in bed and being miserable. But I had to get up eventually because my beloved basic ass Pantech phone decided to completely stop working. After making myself presentable and eating half of my weight in carbs, my mom and I headed to the Verizon store to get me a new cellie. I’m very anti smart phone simply for the fact that it saves money by not having one so I just went with the basic ass Cosmos to replace my basic ass Pantech. I can text and make phone calls on my new phone and that’s all that really matters to me!

My day on Saturday was going pretty well despite my lingering headache and constant cotton mouth. However, a run in with my ex best friend at Starbucks made my evening kind of sucky f0r three minutes. (I got over it pretty quickly!) It was just very awkward and when I saw her I wanted nothing to do with her – so I guess that’s how you know a friendship is over. After that little run in happened, I decided that I wanted to take advantage of one of my dear friends’ offer to go out with him that night. I met up with one of my favorite ex-coworkers in the world, Nick. Him and I go way back from the time I was sixteen and first starting at PacSun and we’ve been friends ever since. Even though I was really tired I made it out to a bar in Akron that his roommate works at and we had a terrific time! This was our first time going out together where I could drink legally so it was an exciting milestone in our friendship! After a drink or two and a lot of laughing about morbid, vulgar, and completely off putting subjects I called it a night and went home. Being able to hang out with my sweet Nick made going out even though I was exhausted completely worth it!

^^^ #babes

I’ve had such a blast rekindling relationships with people who I haven’t seen in forever. By losing one friend I gained a lot more and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve had a lot of really great people fill my time this summer and I wouldn’t change one thing! So here’s to the Old Faithfuls – my tried and true friends who have been there for me in the long run. I love and appreciate all of you so much! ❤

I hope that all of you had a good weekend and a wonderful start to your week! What was everyone up to these past few days? Anything exciting? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Lil Red’s Psychic Experience

Standard
Lil Red’s Psychic Experience

Whatsup everyone and happy Thursday! So a very interesting occurrence happened today that was just too wild not to write about. I went to visit my dear friend, Neva, at her nursing home and while we were hanging out I had a run in with a psychic. Allow me to explain.

^^^ This bands name is Psychic Friend so including their music seemed appropriate!

So yes, Neva and I were hanging out and one of the residents approached us. His name was Doug and after Neva introduced us he asked what I do. I told him that I was in school and that I was really into writing. Without skipping a beat, Doug immediately said “you’re a blogger”. Taken aback I replied with, “How did you know that?!” He then began to tell me that he was a psychic medium and told me that he sees great success for my blog in the future. After telling me of the success that lifewithlilred has in store for me he regarded my clothing because as usual I was dressed pretty formally for an every day occasion. Doug told me that he could see me walking around on Fifth Avenue in a pair of expensive knee high boots and then told me that I was definitely a writer in my past life.

While Doug and I were having this talk, Neva was growing impatient and wanted to go back to her room. So we headed back to headquarters after I hugged my new friend goodbye. After a lovely visit with Neva and her friends I said my farewells and got back into the Little Red Love Machine to go home. As I was driving for the next five or so minutes all I could do was think about Doug and everything that he said to me. It truly made my day so I just had to turn around and thank him – I honestly wouldn’t have been able to forgive myself if I didn’t. So I turned my whip around and went back into the direction of the nursing home and reentered the building in search of my friend.

Once I found Doug’s room, I knocked on the door and told him that I didn’t want to leave without saying goodbye and thanking him one more time. Once again, he told me that I had good things in store for me and that he could sense my talent and energy from across the room. He told me that I was a 19th century European writer in my past life and then began to tell me what my past self was life. Doug told me that I could gamble with the best of them and out-smoke and out-roll a cigar better than any man. He compared me to Emily Bronte countless times and said that my creativity is something that should never be contained. The entire time I was thinking about just how wild and cool the whole situation was. I don’t know if Doug got the idea of me being a European from the purse I was carrying that dons the British flag on it but hey, I’ll take it. I also found it intriguing that he mentioned gambling, considering I’ve had a few recent trips to the casino. The cigar smoking part was also very fascinating to me because I smoke cigarettes now. Weird!

Doug and I talked for another fifteen minutes or so before we parted ways. He told me that he was leaving the nursing home tomorrow when I said that I would stop in and see him next time I visited Neva, so I was SO glad that I turned around and saw him again. My gut feeling to turn my car around and talk to him was spot on and I’m beyond thankful that I got to spend some time with Doug. Psychic or not, he made me feel genuinely good about myself and I felt obligated to return and express my gratitude to him. I can only hope that our visit with each other made his day just as much as it made mine!

So there you have it, my psychic experience for the day! Has anyone ever had a psychic reading before? How accurate was it? I wanna hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
