Accessory Story: Natasha Necklace Edition

Accessory Story: Natasha Necklace Edition

Howdy! I have become increasingly fond of jewelry as of late from beaded Buddhas to rosary style necklaces and big hoop earrings, I love it all. But, if I had to narrow it down, I’d say that I am a huge fan of chunky gold jewelry. I always prefer gold to silver when it comes to my accessories and that extra weight to it just takes it over the edge for me. I have never been a fan of delicate anything – my style is very bold. And, chunky gold jewelry has that street style edge mixed with chicness from the lux coloring and I adore that combination. So, when I saw this Natasha chain necklace below, it was an easy decision to add it to my cart during my TJMaxx Fall Haul. Check it out:

Yes, I am extra enough that when I saw this bejeweled cheetah on gold chain links that I instantly had to have it. I don’t know why, but I freaking LOVE this necklace. Of course, the emerald and amber jewels on the cheetah are gorgeous but what I like most of all is the length. This chain link number is the perfect length for tucking beneath collars and leaving the cheetah visible as what looks like a cool fascinater on button up tops.

I have wanted a gold chain link necklace for a long time and, although it’s definitely not a boring piece of jewelry, the ones that I have seen never spoke to me. So, I guess all that needed to happen was putting a giant cheetah head in the middle of one for me to be all in. Lol, but seriously – this will be such a cool piece to spruce up business casual or more urban looks and I am so into it.

While doing my seasonal shopping, I am not so much interested in buying a whole new wardrobe (As nice as that would be!) as I am revamping what I already have. New accessories like purses and jewelry are the perfect way to do that with. I can’t wait to sport my new Natasha necklace with chunky cardigans and over turtle neck sweaters and it gave me just the right pick me up for my old clothing to feel fresh and brand new.

Do you prefer silver or gold jewelry? What is your favorite accessory? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

It’s In The Bag: Chillx By LeMiel Edition

Hello everyone and welcome to a new edition of It’s In The Bag, brought to you by my TJMaxx Fall Haul. I always thought that when it comes to accessories, I am a shoe girl through and through. But, as I venture out on shopping trips or online shopping escapades, I have come to realize that I hold a very special place in my heart for purses.

To me, a good shoe is what completes the outfit. But, now I find that your look is only as good as your best accessories. This has inspired me to branch out and invest in things like jewelry, hair accessories, and yes – purses. During my seasonal shopping hauls, I have noticed that I have bought a purse to fit the changing weather each time this past year. And, I’m so not mad about it, because I wound up with this little Chillx By LeMiel beauty. Check it out:

For those of you who don’t know, I am a HUGE fan of mustard yellow and will never not purchase something that I like in that color. So, when this gorgeous cross between a hobo and messenger bag caught my eye, I was all in. The perfect for fall palette of mustard yellow and the chocolate brown strap was just too good to pass up. And, the burnished bronze stud and lock detailing took it over the top into a purse that I didn’t just want but needed.

Although the color is what sold me, the shape of this bag also had a big part in the purchase, too. I don’t own any purses that are shaped like this one and I love the idea of carrying it by the small top strap instead of the long one that was included for a collegiate cool look. And, while we’re talking about the shape – can we please talk about all of the compartments?! Yes, please. I am all for a purse with a bunch of different nooks and crannies to keep all of my belongings organized in. All of the zippers and pouches will come in handy for all of my random odds and ends and I am definitely looking forward to utilizing them.

And, speaking of compartments – can we please talk about the two extra goodies that were nestled into them? Yes, please. While emptying the paper filling from the bag, I found a matching wallet and a huge reusable bag. I had known about the wallet when purchasing the purse but it was so nice to have the freebie tote bag included – it will be perfect for taking to the grocery store with my new favorite purse in hand!

What is your favorite fall color? How do you like to accessorize? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

TJMaxx Fall Haul: All Of The Skin Care Edition

TJMaxx Fall Haul: All Of The Skin Care Edition

Howdy! In case you haven’t noticed, skin care is something that is very important to me. I take my beauty routines seriously – everything from shaving to showering is well thought out by yours truly to accommodate my skin type. And, when it comes to my face, AKA: The money maker (lol!), I don’t mess around. Face masks, serums, eye creams, exfoliaters – I use it all and my skin thanks me for it by maintaining a smooth and creamy complexion.

My skin type is extremely normal, which is nice, because that means I don’t necessarily have to stick to one brand of skin care for forever. Rather, I play around and always end up purchasing a new skin care treat when I hit up TJMaxx. And, with colder weather coming in hot, it’s important to have a fully stocked supply of moisturizers and creams to keep your skin hydrated. During my TJMaxx Fall Haul, I took home the following:

skinskin2skin1

The Haul:

Each product that I purchased above are actually ones that I have used before, minus the SkinLab eye cream. I was so pleased with the performance of the moisturizers and coffee scrub that, instead of trying something new, I stuck with some old favorites. I absolutely loved using the SkinLab moisturizers – especially the gel one, which was nice during the summertime. And, I know that the cream based moisturizer will come in handy once the cold weather strikes.

Both of the moisturizers left my skin feeling hydrated without leaving any type of residue or making me feel greasy – which is really hard to do during the summer. I was happy to buy both of them again and am looking forward to trying out the eye cream. I am always on the hunt for a good one of those ever since The Body Shop discontinued my beloved Nutriganics!

The Wonder Therapy coffee scrub was also a major must because I am obsessed with it. I always exfoliate my skin before shaving and, until recently, I would use a gel scrub. I thought I was getting a close shave with the Satsuma and Strawberry scrubs from The Body Shop but, boy, was I mistaken.

The shave that I get with the cream based coffee scrub is unlike any other. It leaves my skin so smooth and hydrated that I don’t even need to apply lotion afterwards. But, of course I do anyways! The shave is so close that my skin remains smooth for at least three to four days before any stubble appears. Can your shaving cream or scrub do that?

I’m glad that TJMaxx had the products that I was eager to use again when I went shopping because sometimes it’s hit or miss. I’m definitely looking forward to using all of them in the future!

What is your skin care routine? How do you achieve a super close shave? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

TJMaxx Fall Haul: K Cup Reup Edition

TJMaxx Fall Haul: K Cup Reup Edition

Hello, hello! When I moved into my apartment, my parents gave me the most darling little red Keurig for my housewarming present. It’s basically the cutest and it also matches my little red toaster and general lifestyle perfectly, lol. But, with owning a Keurig means needing a supply of K cups, which I was running low on. Luckily, TJMaxx had my back with a delicious fall flavor. Check it out:

coffee

I am and am not a big coffee drinker. I actually still have some K cups leftover from my initial moving in haul and that was way back in April. However, when I want my caffeine fix, I want it bad and it’s also so nice to have a Keurig when it comes to having friends over. And, can we all talk about how much better Keurig coffee is than the regular old drip in a pot coffee? Because it definitely is. 💁

I knew that I wanted a fall flavor for my next K cup purchase, but I didn’t want to dedicate a whole box of them to pumpkin spice. The Maple Brown Sugar that I went with sounded so good with the perfect touch of sweetness to it so into the cart it went. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good PSL from Starbucks more than anything. But, it’s not my favorite by any means and the Maple Brown Sugar will feel fall like without feeling like overkill. I can’t wait to try it out! 😀

What is your favorite K cup flavor? How do you make your coffee at home? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Pajama Party: Tommy Hilfiger Edition

Pajama Party: Tommy Hilfiger Edition

Hello, hello darlings! With the turn of every season, I usually do one big TJMaxx haul to add some updates to the clothing appropriate for the change of weather. And, as far as I’m concerned, fall is basically here so a shopping trip was definitely necessary. I never really have anything particular in mind to purchase during my seasonal haul, I just go with whatever suits my fancy. This could be accessories like a new purse or jewelry or maybe some chunky sweaters and skinny jeans.

Regardless, after my haul, I feel like I have everything that I need for the season ahead and am content and excited to revamp old outfits with new pieces. The next few posts on lifewithlilred will feature everything bought during my TJ’s haul and we’re going to start that off with some new Tommy Hilfiger pajamas. Check it out:

I have a big love for PJs, even though I haven’t bought any in a long while. So, I couldn’t pass this darling Tommy Hilfiger short and sweatshirt set up when I saw it. And, getting it for twenty dollars instead of the original seventy-eight didn’t hurt the cause, either! They just looked SO comfy and I had to wear them the day that they came home with me and they ARE so comfy.

There is nothing quite like snuggling up in a cute pair of PJs during a chilly fall evening and that’s exactly why I got these. Wrapping a fleece blanket around bare legs is the ultimate comfort while popping in a movie and the sweatshirt does the job too in a different way. It’s nice and warm while not feeling too heavy and I went with a bigger size than normal so I could just wrap myself completely in it. It really is the perfect PJ set…

And, oh yeah, did I mention it’s cute? I adore the soft and snugly heather grey and the varsity jacket style lettering gives it the classic All American feel that Tommy Hilfiger is so well known for. Even in the sleep and lounge-wear department, TH delivers and I am just as obsessed with my new set as I am with all of my oldie but goodie Calvin Klein PJs.

Although this purchase isn’t something that I can wear out and about during the day, my nights needed an updated look, too, and my new pajama set is just what the doctor ordered to do that with. ❤

What is your favorite brand for sleep and lounge-wear? How do you get comfy cozy during a chilly night? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Accessory Story: Claire’s Haul Edition

Helloooo everyone! This past week, I took a client to the mall to do a little shopping and, unfortunately (but not really), I was the one who ended up buying something AS PER USHE. But, I just couldn’t help myself, because I got an amazing deal – six pretty accessories from Claire’s for a whole eighteen dollars thanks to clearance shopping and a buy three get three free deal. I am super happy with my new earrings and headbands and I know that without the promo and marked down prices I would have paid well over fifty bucks for everything I got. So, I guess it isn’t all bad! 😉 Check it out:

clairesclaires1claires2claires3claires4claires5claires6claires7

^^^ And, yes, the flower headband DOES light up!!

Buying accessories like earrings and headbands is usually pretty low on my fashion priority list. I have a few of each at home that I wear exclusively and that’s about it. I don’t know if it’s the price of them that bothers me or what, but I’d always rather buy shoes… obviously lol. So, when I found such a good deal for some new treats, I couldn’t pass it up.

I love, love, love my new earrings and am looking forward to wearing all of them, especially the gold circle ones – I think those are so cool! I’ve never owned a pair of feather earrings, either, and the black ones spoke to me, no surprises there. And, the cherries were too cute and the drop ones with the translucent pearls were too classic to not add those to the bag, too.

Although I adore the earrings, I am most excited about my headbands! I haven’t bought new headbands since high school I think, so that was definitely a purchase that had a long time coming! The light denim faux suede with the embroidered flowers is SO pretty and it will be a great way to accessorize a collegiate chic OOTD come fall time.

And, can we PLEASE talk about the light up floral one?! So. CUTE! I had no idea it lit up until the girl who was ringing me up told me and that just made the find even sweeter because it’s basically the coolest thing ever. I have never seen anything like that that I would actually want to wear and I cannot wait to style an OOTD and MOTD around it.

Was this little haul necessary? Not necessarily! But, I got a great deal and found some pretty little things that I wouldn’t have bought otherwise. Plus, there is nothing like refreshing your outfits with some new odds and ends that didn’t break the bank!

Where do you like to accessory shop at? How do you refresh old outfits? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Groovy Movies: Dollar Tree Haul Edition

Groovy Movies: Dollar Tree Haul Edition

Helloooo! One of my favorite stores that I frequent with a client of mine is the Dollar Tree. And, considering everything there is only a dollar, I can definitely afford it! If her and I end up at the Dollar Tree, I usually will end up indulging if there is anything good there, because I’d much rather pay a dollar for food, paper products, decor, etc. than the marked up price at the grocery store.

This time around, aside from food, I ended up purchasing five movies for a dollar each, which is such an amazing deal considering one movie from Target costs five bucks! So, I got five brand new movies for the price of one. Check it out:

movies

I am a huge fan of having movies to watch at home as well as books to read to keep me entertained instead of paying for a streaming service. Getting Netflix or the like will happen eventually, but holding it off by paying five dollars for some new flicks to enjoy definitely saves me money. Not that Netflix isn’t fairly cheap, but you all know that your girl likes to ball on a budget.

Frankly, the only movie that I super like out of the five that I bought is Masterminds. That is one of my favorite comedies and I could watch it one hundred times and still laugh hysterically, so that was a great find. And, as far as the other four go, they will provide me with something to do during a free evening and that’s good enough for me, even if I don’t end up loving them.

Lil Red will never be above bargain shopping and if there is a Dollar Tree in your area, I highly recommend hitting one up. You never know what goodies you’re going to find!

Where do you do the best bargain shopping at? Which streaming service do you recommend? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Sephora Haul

Helloooo everyone! I promise you I’m done shopping for a while, just kidding I will never be done shopping so I have a Sephora Haul to share with all of you! This needed to happen, though, because I can’t live without my leave in conditioner by IGK and I was almost out. So, I stocked up by getting two bottles of that and a bunch of free goodies. Make sure to check in tomorrow and the following day for swatches of the lip colors by Clinique and Jouer!

haul

The Haul:

  • Two IGK Mistress hydrating hair balms
  • Jouer lip creme in Rose Gold (FREE!)
  • Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey (FREE!)
  • Belif The true cream aqua bomb sample (FREE!)
  • AmorePacific enzyme peel sample (FREE!)

When it comes to shopping Sephora, I always try and get the most bang for my buck. And, although the IGK product I got is expensive, I got all kinds of free goodies and free shipping to make up for it. I can’t wait to show you guys swatches of the new lip colors because they are GORGEOUS. I am especially obsessed with the metallic Jouer lip creme in Rose Gold – you guys are going to love it!

I am also always up for aqua bomb style moisturizers so I will be looking forward to giving the sample by Belif a go. But, I am most curious about the enzyme peel by AmorePacific. So, be on the lookout for my post on giving that a try and we’ll figure out just what the heck it is together. 😀

Walgreens Haul

Walgreens Haul

Howdy! When it comes to my hair, we all know that Lil Red doesn’t mess around. I dye my hair every month on the dot and I follow a strict no wash policy to keep the red fresh to death until the next hair dye sesh. Now, I used to have no problem purchasing my hair dye (Vidal Sassoon’s Runway Red from the London Luxe collection) in stores, however, as the years have gone on it is a rarity for me to see it available for purchase in person. And, because of this, the prices for the dye online skyrocketed – they are at least thirty bucks a pop on Amazon and that is so not okay with me.

I check on the Walgreens website fairly frequently to see if they ever reup their supply because sometimes I get lucky. And, a week or so ago, I hit the jackpot. My beloved dye was available, I had a twenty percent off promo code, and free shipping so I was just like “let me get a year’s supply” lol and what you are about to see is nothing short of a miracle:

hair

It’s… it’s just beautiful.

I am SO happy to have gotten a year’s worth of my hair dye because now I literally don’t have to worry about it until August of 2020. Once I saw that Walgreens had my Vidal Sassoon available, I jumped at the opportunity and a year’s worth of my box color costed about what I would have paid for one month of getting it done at the salon. You just can’t beat that. And, because I dye my hair at home, it saves me money for treats like getting my nails done and buying ALL THE SHOES!

So, muchos gracias to Walgreens for pulling through in the clutch and providing Lil Red with the tools to keep her namesake going strong for another year. I LOVE YOU. ❤

Accessory Story: SJ Pearl Jade Necklace

Accessory Story: SJ Pearl Jade Necklace

Helloooo everyone and welcome to the next Accessory Story from my TJMaxx haul where we will be discussing another gorgeous piece by SJ Pearl. This longer in length jade necklace features a Laughing Buddha pendent, which we already established yesterday as a symbol for good luck and abundance in life. The beads on my new necklace are made of jade which offers wisdom and compassion among other good stuff. And, as I work with people with special needs, I can always use some of that! Take a look:

jade2jade3jade1

Very much like my beloved grandma, when I find something that I like, I tend to get it in every style and color. So, picking out my second Laughing Buddha necklace by SJ Pearl was a necessary evil that I am so not mad about! I love the rosary style length of this necklace and the subtle but beautiful coloring of the jade stones.

Like the obsidian necklace on yesterday’s post, it feels so nice to have the weight of my new jewelry around my neck because it just feels good, ya know? It makes me feel positive and kind of like the dark clouds that sometimes cover me are lifted ever so slightly. My SJ Pearl necklaces make a statement that’s both stylish and meaningful and it doesn’t get much better than that!

How would you style this necklace? Which symbols mean a lot to you? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
