Monday Update: Birthday Countdown Edition!

Heyyy everyone and happy Monday!! I hope all of you are having a fabulous day so far! I’m currently taking a break after a four hour homework binge, so I thought that now would be the perfect time to let all of you know that my 21st birthday countdown has begun! There are officially only SIX DAYS left until my June 7th birthday. I repeat SIX DAYS! S-I-X D-A-Y-S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In case you can’t tell….I’m beyond excited! I have lots of fun stuff planned for a week full of birthday celebrations, so I’m trying to finish as much homework as I can now so that I don’t have anything school related to worry about for my special week – because let’s be real, turning the big 2-1 definitely calls for a weeks worth of tomfoolery! Yesterday my sister and I went shopping at my favorite mall, Belden Village in Canton where I treated myself to some new additions to my wardrobe…A jacket that I’ve had my eye on for forever at American Eagle that FINALLY went on clearance and a super cool and edgy black crop top with two floor length black sheer panels of material hanging from the front and back from Forever 21. I was soooo excited about my new jacket from AEO, because not only did I get it for half off which was a total steal BUT they only had my size (small) and an extra large left – so it was definitely meant to be! I would post pictures of these new pieces to show you guys, but my beloved best friend Kate is going to be doing that for me on our hang out evening this Wednesday, so be on the look out for some pretty new modeling pics of yours truly! I’m seriously so obsessed with both of these new wardrobe editions so I can’t wait for you guys to see them! As I mentioned earlier, I have a full birthday week of plans, so here’s a tentative outline of what my schedule will be looking like until my big day:

  • Monday: Finish my school work for a stress free birthday week! I have just a few more things to do and then I’ll be done already – hurray!
  • Tuesday: Get my hair cut so it’s nice and fierce for all of my festivities and then join my sister for an evening of pampering at a fancy salon while she gets her hair dyed.
  • Wednesday: A lovely hang out with Kate that will be filled with booze, crafting, and photography!
  • Thursday: An afternoon at the nail salon where my beloved nail tech Vinny will be giving me the princess treatment with a brand new set of nails! My talons take FOREVER to create, so it should be a pretty lengthy salon hang out with Vinny and the rest of the fabulous employees at Empress Nails!
  • Friday: A trip to the Toledo Zoo with my darling little BFF Lea for my birthday day trip! It’s our best friend tradition to take a day trip for each of our birthdays.
  • Saturday: My first night out at the bars with all of my friends! The white girl wastedness will be SO real!!!
  • Sunday: MY BIRTHDAY!!!!! This will probably be my day with my family unless Kate and I aren’t too hung over to have our individual celebration together. I’m not sure what she has planned but she told me that I need to be twenty-one for it – so maybe we’ll be going to a winery or something?! I have no idea, but I’m so excited to see what she has planned!!!

^^^ I LOVE MINIONS!! And speaking of those silly little yellow guys – at Build A Bear you can make a minion (as you can see by my featured image photo) and I want to make one so desperately it hurts! I swear I’m turning twenty-one and not five!!! So if someone could take me to make a minion of my own to hug and love on that would be great! 😉

So Far So Good!

Heyyy everyone! So I know you’re all awaiting with baited breath to hear how my summer classes are going – and for the most part they’re all going great! I started my math and Sociology class on Tuesday, and apparently I won’t be starting my Social Psychology course until June 8th which came as a rude shock. (So now I only have eight weeks to complete that course. -__-) At first I was pretty overwhelmed by everything because let me tell you – it’s a lot! In all of my classes we’re going through about two chapters worth of work and information per week to finish each course in a ten week time period…it’s a bit much! (And by a bit I mean a lot.) Despite the excessive work load, I’m feeling pretty good about everything for the most part. I’ve been tucked in at the local Starbucks basically every day this week with a bag full of my textbooks, laptop, laptop battery, headphones, notebooks, planner, and writing utensils to keep me company. Each day I usually spend four hours at Starbucks, then I go home and take a little break to let my brain breathe, and then I start up again for another two or three hours. I’ll tell you what – by the end of the day I’m exhausted and my brain feels fried. I’m learning a lot of information every day and I swear my brain is running out of room to store it all in. My Sociology class is easy peasy, it’s basically just reading the textbook. But my math class is already a major frustration. I’m taking all of my courses online this summer and it’s just so difficult trying to learn new math skills over the computer. Yesterday the chapter we were working on had to do with subsets and yada, yada, yada and I was so confused. I read the chapter multiple times, I watched the videos about the subject, I looked through the Power Point presentations, and I “chatted” online with a tutor for a solid thirty-five minutes and I still didn’t understand a damn thing. That’s what I get for taking a math class online, I guess. Luckily, I posted a Facebook status yesterday asking for help from anyone good at math and one of my favorite customers from PacSun messaged me saying that he would help! So we’re gonna meet up for coffee tonight so he can try to explain things to me. Fingers crossed that I walk away with a new understanding on stupid subsets! 😉

On the bright not school related side, my 21st birthday is coming up very soon! June 7th, to be exact!!! So rest assured that this entire upcoming week will basically be me telling you guys how excited I am to turn the big 2-1 like a million times…Sorry not sorry! 🙂 And if you feel like sending Lil Red some birthday lovin, you can always get me a box of my Vidal Sassoon Runway Red hair dye from the London Luxe collection! I like to have multiple boxes handy at all times, so feel free to add to my stockpile! THANKS! 😉 ❤

Well I must be off to finish my Sociology work and then I’ll be done with everything until Monday! Hurray! I’m so ready for a fun filled stress free weekend – god knows I need it! Anyways, we had a beautiful evening with the family tonight. We had a Chinese dinner at our favorite place The Mandarin House with our parents and then Kristen and I went to see Get Hard which was dumb as fuck, but we still had fun! Once we got back from the movies we enjoyed the adorable Hello Kitty ice cream cake that my mom got, as you can see in my featured image. It was so cute I almost didn’t want to eat it! To continue with the birthday festivities on her actual birthday (the 8th), we’ll be going to Hibachi Japan for dinner with a bunch of friends and then going out and getting white girl wasted after. Hurray for being 23! I hate to toot my own horn, but I also managed to get my sister a really fantastic gift: two tickets to see The Used at the House of Blues in Cleveland next month! I even learned how to fold the tickets into an origami envelope for her to open, which I was particularly proud of! When I gave her the tickets she told me that she planned on purchasing them the day I bought them because she heard there were only thirty or so tickets left. I’m so glad I beat her to it because she loves it! I’m very excited to take her on an emo night on the town for the show, and I’m really looking forward to seeing The Used play! So far it’s been a very successful birthday celebration and it isn’t even her birthday quite yet!

So, let me just say to the world and to my darling sister: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Words seriously can’t even begin to express the infinite love that I have for you. You mean more than the world to me, and I’m always going to be here for you whether you like it or not. I’ll be here to make you laugh, to annoy the fuck out of you, and to forever remind you of how important you are. My birthday wish for my sister is for her to see herself the way that I see her. Beautiful, hard working, determined, intelligent, hilarious, gorgeous, goofy, and every good adjective that I could possibly think of. You make me so proud to share your DNA. I love being able to tell people who don’t know that I’m your little sister. This sounds lame, but it makes me feel really cool! Like, how many girls get to say that “yeah, that hot little number who happens to be the birthday girl for the day is my big sister AND best friend”? Probably not many. I’m so thankful that we have the type of relationship that allows me to say that. You are the window to my walls, you are the sweat that drips down my balls. I love you Kristen and I hope your special day is just as amazing as you are! I can’t wait to celebrate with you and our friends! Let’s get drunk!!!

^^ One of my favorite memories in the world is thinking back to all the times that this song would play on the radio and how we would scream it at the top of our lungs each time. I’ve never told anyone this until now (so I might as well tell the world, right?), but this song is one of my all time favorites because of the treasured memories I associate it with. Yeah, a Demi Lovato song is one of my favorites. WHAT OF IT? So this one goes out to you, sis.

A Lucky Birthday Gift

Hey gang and TGIF! Today is a fabulous day not only because it’s Friday but because I’m FINALLY feeling better from my god awful flu! Hurray! So April is a fun month because my dad and my sister’s birthdays are super close together. My dad’s birthday falls on the sixth while Kristen’s comes two days after on the eighth. Yesterday I went birthday shopping for my dad at Lowe’s and because of a few recent unlucky incidents that my poor papa had to go through, I knew exactly what to get him!

Two years. Three instances of getting rear ended while driving. Those sentences basically sum up my dad’s unlucky spell when it comes to cruising around good ol’ Akron, Ohio. Unfortunately his third accident happened a week or so ago by some moron running into him on a highway exit ramp. The thing about the entire situation is, that if it wasn’t so goddamn sad and annoying, it would almost be laughable. Like really? Three rear ends in two years? (Every party involved was unharmed every time though, which is all that really matters) That’s bad luck if I’ve ever heard it! So once my dad came home with his busted up car and bad news, I had a stroke of genius as to what to get him for his birthday. My dad loves tending to his many plants indoors and his beautiful outdoor garden in our spacious backyard. Flowers, potted plants, vegetables, herbs, shade gardens – my dad does it all. With that in mind, I looked up different plants that symbolize good luck and learned that bamboo is one of them. I was really happy to find that out because my dad doesn’t have any bamboo plants in his vast collection. After I got the plant part taken care of, I looked into animals that symbolize good luck so I could find a nice ceramic one to put in the garden outside or indoors with the potted plants. I had my heart set on finding a ceramic turtle or frog which I learned was lucky, but there were none at Lowe’s that really screamed out “DAD” at me. While strolling through the gardening aisles I stopped at the wind chime section and found a really beautiful brass one sporting a sunflower and a blue bird. In my good luck research I learned that birds were considered lucky, so I hit the jackpot! My dad loves wind chimes so this will be a great addition to hang on our porch! Here’s a few pics of my birthday purchases for my pops!

So pretty!! Hopefully I can keep the bamboo alive for another three days until I can leave them in my dad’s very capable hands! 😉 This is super pathetic, but I think I already put too much water into their little containers. FML. Anywho, I’m really excited to give my dad these gifts because I know for a fact he’s going to love them! And he’ll get a reminder of how much I love him every time he cares for his new lucky bamboo. A nice bonus from these “good luck” gifts is if they actually brought some good luck to my old man…god knows he needs it!!!

I accidentally got an eyeliner stain on a white 100% polyester shirt and I was wondering if any of you had any tips on how to get it out…THIS IS URGENT!!!
