Busy Day OOTD

Busy Day OOTD

Hello darlings!! Normally, my weekends are all about having some much needed R&R after a crazy busy work week. This Saturday, however, was a different story because there was SO much to do. Johnny and I needed to give our apartment a much needed deep clean, but first I had to get recertified in CPR and first aid. As an Independent Provider, it is a very important requirement to have that and my certificate was set to expire in February. I was so happy to be able to get it done, even though I wasn’t thrilled to wake up early! Before heading out on a snowy morning, I wanted to get OOTD pics out of the way for the comfy cool look I put together. Check it out:

Who? What? Wear?

Killin’ It Hoodie: Forever 21

Star Pattern Jeans: Kut From The Kloth, TJMaxx

White Combat Boots: Forever 21

Cheetah Print Headband: TJMaxx

Earrings: American Eagle Outfitters

It’s never much fun to do work related stuff over the weekend, but it’s even less fun when the weather freaking sucks lol. For this OOTD, I wanted a laid back look that I could be comfortable in (While still looking cute!) as I got my training done. On really cold days, I just want to wrap myself up like a burrito in a million blankets. That wasn’t the case for me on Saturday, however, so I went with soft pieces to represent my burrito cocoon that I so desperately wanted to be in!

Usually when I’m styling an OOTD, I start from the top down. This time around, I began from the bottom up with my Kut From The Kloth jeans. These star patterned skinnies are just so much fun and a really unique piece. I don’t get to wear them too often because it is difficult to pair them with ninety-nine percent of what is in my wardrobe. Despite not getting to use them much, they are well loved and nice and soft, which is exactly what I wanted as I went about my day.

Next on the agenda was finding a top that worked and I decided to go the hoodie route to keep up with the comfy cute motif. I popped on one of my Misny Merch Ts as an extra layer, then chose an oldie but goodie hoodie from Forever 21. What can I say, I planned on killin’ it at my training and I did! This hoodie is the freaking bomb. It is SO cozy and it almost feels like wearing a nightgown in the best possible way lol. In fact, I have nighties that are similar! The black and white color palette was also just what I needed to keep the jeans from clashing with it.

Finally, it was onto shoes and accessories. I pulled my hair back with a cheetah print headband because practicing CPR with hair in your face is a hassle. This headband was a gift from my mom and I wear it constantly throughout the week. The animal print added a pop of something different to the look and was far enough away from the pants to keep an uncluttered appearance. Long, dangly earrings were also a no go for a CPR class, so I stuck with a small pair of gold earrings which looked great with the headband.

Last but not least was shoes and I went for a pair of white heeled combat boots from Forever 21. I know, I’m also shocked that there’s more pieces from F21 than TJMaxx in this look! These boots added the extra length I needed since the hoodie was so long and the stark white complimented the text on the hoodie too. With that, I was ready to take on the day the comfy cute way and rocked it!

While nothing pleases me more than dressing up, my Busy Day on Saturday called for a dressed down OOTD. This outfit kept me warm and toasty on the blustery day while still looking my laid back best!

How do you normally spend your weekends? What is your favorite comfy cozy piece of clothing? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Out On The Town OOTD

Out On The Town OOTD

Hello!!! This past Friday, I had a wonderful holiday hangout with my bestie. Lea and I went to what is, easily, one of the best martini bars in our neck of the woods called the Cashmere Cricket for drinks and dinner. The Cricket is just the cutest little spot tucked away in downtown Cuyahoga Falls and it is one of my favorite places. In fact, Johnny and I had our first date and celebrated our engagement there! The Cashmere Cricket definitely requires more sophisticated attire than a typical bar so it is always fun to step out there. This is what I wore:

image_50456577(13)image_50458113(5)image_50455553(6)image_50460929(3)image_50747137(3)image_50452481(5)

Who? What? Wear?

Black & Navy Jacket: Xhilaration, Target

Skull Sweater: 360 Cashmere, TJMaxx

Skinny Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters

Heeled Boots: Bamboo, TJMaxx

Dark Green Hoop Earrings: Argentino Vivo, TJMaxx

Do you remember a point in your life where even if it was freaking freezing out, you still wouldn’t wear cold weather clothes? IE: A dress in wintertime? I definitely did that in my younger twenties! Now? Not so much lol. Although it hasn’t been super snowy in Ohio this winter, it has been damp and cold and it intensifies instantly as soon as the sun sets. Lea and I were meeting later into the evening and as much as I enjoy getting super dolled up for the Cricket, I wasn’t trying to set myself up for frostbite. So, I opted to stay warm and cute instead!

For my Out On The Town OOTD, I wanted to create a smoky and chic color palette – like a smoky eye look for your clothes. To start, I chose my V-neck sweater adorned in skulls by 360 Cashmere. This was a Christmas gift from me to me a few years ago and it is one of my faves. What I particularly like is the fit because it offers some slouch without being baggy. I tend to drown in truly oversized pieces! With an all over pattern like this sweater has, I kept things simple on the bottom with a plain black pair of skinny jeans. While I could have went for distressing or coating, I decided against it to keep any of the pieces from clashing which can happen with a bold patterned top.

Next, it was onto a jacket, shoes, and accessories. For my jacket, I selected a little number from Target. I have had this jacket for years now and it still hits every time. The shape is so classic and the color blocking of black and navy is such a unique touch. And, of course, it is very warm! These deeper colors really helped to create the color palette I wanted and I thought it looked lovely on top of the flint grey sweater.

Shoes came next on my agenda and I went with a pair of heeled booties by Bamboo. I love, love, love the gold brocade pattern and it was a great way to add something different to the outfit without going overboard. Since the palette of this OOTD was all neutral pieces, the gold pattern only enhanced rather than clashed. Last was accessories and I kept things minimal with a medium size pair of dark green hoop earrings by Argentino Vivo. Granted, there wasn’t much open real estate for additional jewelry and the patterned sweater, color block jacket, and gold detailed boots were enough of an accessory on their own!

It was fun to style this Out On The Town OOTD, but it was the most fun to go out with my best girl for a post holiday celebration. This look felt just right for the Cashmere Cricket and I can’t wait to go back. Happy Hour, anyone?!

What is your cold weather style like? How do you dress up for a night out? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

TJMaxx Skin Care Haul

TJMaxx Skin Care Haul

Howdy!! For Christmas and my birthday, I know for a fact that I am going to receive lots of gift cards to TJMaxx. Everyone seems to know by now that it is my happy place and a gift card to TJs is truly the perfect gift for me. With my Christmas gift card hauls, I always like to do a major restock of my skin care supplies. While it would be fun to blow the lot on new clothes and shoes (And I have before!), I like to get things that I actually need and skin care is of the highest priority. I take my skin care routine very seriously and I got enough product to last for at least five months FO FREE. You just can’t beat that! Check it out:

image_50414849(5)image_50440961(11)image_50437377(2)

^^^ All of these products are Leaping Bunny Certified!

I visited TJMaxx on January second and the store was understandably pretty bare to prep for their spring shipment. Unfortunately, this meant the skin care department was nowhere near as well stocked as usual. I had to really look to find the serums, moisturizers, toners, eye creams, and cleansers that would not only work for me but were cruelty free too. This was a lot easier said than done and I spent a majority of my shopping trip scouring the shelves. While I did walk away with everything I needed, the biggest disappointment was not being able to find any of my tried and true Evoluderm Micellar Water. Normally, TJs has an entire shelf full so that was a bummer but, luckily, I have more gift cards for when they get a restock! 😀

For this haul, I walked away with two toners, one cleanser, four moisturizers, four serums, and one eye cream. I was very happy with this because of how bare the skin care section was and I was able to find some familiar brands and brand new ones to try. What I am particularly curious about is the Provence Beauty serums in the bright yellow and baby pink bottles. And, yes, I did get them specifically for what they looked like lol. What can I say, I’m a sucker for pretty packaging! I was also most excited to find another Simple eye cream because of what a fantastic value they are. I have been using a similar product by Simple for the past FIVE months and I am still not even close to being done. Highly recommend!

I am very pleased with my gift card haul from TJMaxx and planned it out to perfection. I only paid nine additional dollars for what my gift cards didn’t cover and I thought that was a great success. Nothing makes me happier than a fully restocked skin care hoard and I can’t wait to test out the new to me products!

What are your thoughts on any of these products if you have used them before? What is important for you when it comes to skin care? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

New Rachel Roy Vest Thing

New Rachel Roy Vest Thing

Hello!! Tuesdays are one of my favorite days of the week because I don’t really have too much to do. I just have a short shift in the morning and later in the afternoon so I have from eleven to two thirty off. In that time, I either run errands, hang out with my parents, or work online. This past Tuesday, I decided to hit up TJMaxx because I had some Christmas gift cards and TJ rewards burning a hole in my pocket. I did a full restock of my skin care, which we’ll check out tomorrow and had just enough left over for this amazing Rachel Roy Vest… Thing? Lol take a look:

image_50433537(10)image_50439937(6)image_50456065(7)image_50442497(10)

Post holiday shopping at TJMaxx is one of my favorite things to do. Until their spring shipment comes in, I feel like all of the weird stuff that didn’t sell throughout the year gets brought back out and everything is marked down. Luckily for me, I LOVE all of the weird stuff and have made some of my best purchases during this time of the year. During my rounds in the clothing department, I was searching specifically for these items and ended up finding this Rachel Roy Vest/whatever. I don’t know what it is exactly, but I did know I liked the pattern going around the edges and on the tie very much.

In the fitting room, I realized that you put this vest on like a poncho. It slips over your head so two panels of fabric are in the front and then you tie it together. Once it was on, I was completely sold! This vest is such a unique piece and I have never seen nor own anything like it. I love the traditional vest style quilting paired with the flowers in deep fall colors. The fit was also everything because after it was tied, the shoulders came jutting out and created such a cool shape. I found the only vest like this in the store and I highly doubt I’ll see anyone wearing one of them in public. This makes it feel exclusive to me and that is always a huge selling point for me because I don’t want what everyone else has!

Throughout the new year, I will be making lots of new content with Tim Misny and my Rachel Roy Vest Thing is the first thing I plan on rocking during our next shoot. I can’t wait to serve up fashion looks and a whole lot of fun!

What is your favorite day of the week? When during the year is your favorite time to shop? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

All Better OOTD

All Better OOTD

Hello!!! Unfortunately, I spent my holiday break under the weather. I had the worst cold, aches, and fever and chills and was feeling pretty miserable. It was such a bummer, but at least I had an entire week off of work to rest and recuperate! By the time this past weekend rolled around, I was doing a lot better and was able to attend a family dinner at Hibachi Japan. It had felt like forever since I put on makeup and got dressed up so I couldn’t wait to finally take some OOTD shots! I kept my look for the evening comfy and cute and this is what I came up with:

image_50737921(10)image_67233281(1)image_50431233(6)image_50730497(1)image_67233281image_50727937(4)

Who? What? Wear?

Moto Jacket: Zara

T-Shirt: Misny Merch

Coated Skinny Jeans: Seven Jeans, TJMaxx

Vertebrae Platforms: Dolls Kill

Cross Earrings: EmLeigh’s and Mama B’s

Normally when I style an OOTD, I begin with a completely blank slate. This time around, however, I already had the base of my outfit established with the T and jeans and decided to keep it that way. The coated Seven Jeans inspired me to play with texture and I wanted to incorporate more of that through shoes and a jacket. While it is fun to experiment with texture outside of a neutral palette, I kept things simple and used all black clothing and accessories to do so. This is a lazy gal technique because it’s never going to be “too much” when your textured pieces are all the same color!

Next on my agenda was a jacket and I knew exactly which one I was going to go for – my embellished moto jacket from Zara. This is quite possibly one of my favorite moto jackets that I have ever owned and I think it is perfect. I love the stud details, the grey hood, and classic shape and it is one of my go tos during the winter. This jacket was also ideal for introducing another texture because the faux leather looks matte in comparison to the sheen of the jeans. Although these two pieces were completely different textures, it still flowed seamlessly because they were both black. Lazy gal, or just really smart? lol 😀

Finally, it was onto shoes and accessories. For jewelry, I chose a pair of dangly bejeweled black cross earrings. I wanted the pop of color to come from the burgundy T-shirt so I decided to let the earrings blend with the rest of the outfit. I also planned on leaving my jacket on during the evening so there was no need for anything additional. The last step was shoes and I went with a killer pair of platforms by Dolls Kill. These boots speak to my spooky soul and and they were just what I needed to complete the look. They tied this outfit together from top to bottom as they appeared matte but still offered a bit of shine and, with that, I was ready to hit the town!

Last year, my goal was to shoot as many OOTDs as possible and my goal remains the same this year too. I was able to shake off the yuck in my All Better OOTD and I can’t wait to see what outfits I put together in 2024!

How was your new year celebration? What did you do over your holiday time off? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Merry Merry OOTD

Hi darlings!! My Christmas break did not really go accordingly to plan because I was sick during a majority of it. Luckily, my family celebrated the holiday later in the week and I was able to rally enough to go and stay in my bubble. We had a wonderful day because my family in its entirety was there. All four kids, our partners, and my three nieces and sweet nephew. It was amazing and is what Christmas is all about! For my holiday outfit, I didn’t want to go too all out because I was wiped out. I did throw a little something something together, though! Check it out:

Who? What? Wear?

Feliz Navidad Sweater: Walmart

Skinny Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters

Platform Boots: Dolls Kill

Hoop Earrings: Argentino Vivo, TJMaxx

Johnny and I have loved being able to sport our Tim Misny holiday sweaters throughout December, so I wanted to wear something different for this look. We have quite a few Christmas sweaters to choose from, but my absolute favorite has to be the Feliz Navidad one. Sorry, Tim!! We purchased this years ago from Walmart and I’m not really sure why lol. I think we both just liked it a lot because I can’t recall ever wearing it to a get together with friends! This sweater is everything. It is festive, fun, and bright and I will never not be over the beads, tassels, and hot peppers hanging off of it. 😀

With a sweater this bold, I really didn’t have any other options for pants other than my go to black skinnies. So, we’ll move onto shoes and accessories! For jewelry, there wasn’t any open real estate for necklaces or bracelets. Of course, even if there was I wouldn’t have worn them because of all the bling on the sweater! I opted to keep things simple with my go to pair of gold hoop earrings by Argentino Vivo. My sweater offered a lot of movement and so do the earrings so that complimented each other nicely. These earrings are also big enough to hold their own against the sweater and added some lovely length to my neck.

Shoes were next and I was sick of wearing my red Bamboo boots for holiday OOTDs. I decided to go a very different route by wearing my devil horn Dolls Kill platforms instead for a little heaven and a little hell. Mainly, I wore these for the red glitter but privately I wore them to laugh about it in my head lol. I think they added perfectly to the pure over the topness of the sweater and they are definitely the Lil Red version of Dorothy’s ruby slippers. Once these babies were on, I was ready to celebrate the holiday in devilishly good style!

My Merry Merry OOTD put me in the holiday spirit, but that was nothing compared to how my spirits soared when I was together with my whole family. I hope all of you had a fantastic holiday too!

How did you celebrate the holiday season? Do you have any fun holiday sweaters? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

December 2023 Finishes

Helloooo everyone and welcome to the very last beauty finishes post of 2023! Skin care and bath and body care is very important to me all year round. However, there’s just something about using go to products that hits different during the wintertime. For a majority of the time since November, I have been in a perpetual state of freezing my nads off and it makes my morning and nighttime beauty routines feel even more pampering and luxurious. I finished lots of products this past month so let’s take a look and discuss further:

image_50381313(4)image_50426369(4)

Would I Use Again?

Lubriderm Lotion: YES (but only for new tattoos)

Coconut + Niacinamide Skin Recovery Face Wash by My Beauty Spot: NO

Bath & Body Works Mango Mandarin Body Spray: YES

Bath & Body Works Among The Clouds Body Wash: MAYBE

Pearlessence Dewy Glow Serum: YES

Azure Retinol & Collagen Moisturizer: NO

Why/Why Not?

Lubriderm Lotion: This month, I was completely out of lotion aside from my bottle of Lubriderm that I use when I get new tattoos. I have never used this brand for normal bath and body care before and, I’ve got to say, I was not impressed. I am all for a nice, light lotion and prefer it. However, the Lubriderm is so light that it was less than helpful in combating my dry winter skin. I will forever use Lubriderm when I get some fresh ink (Coming soon, I hope!), but that is all. Thank goodness I got lots of new lotion for Christmas! 😀

My Beauty Spot Face Wash: I have been using this face wash since the beginning of August, making it a fantastic value. Unfortunately, that was the only thing that the Coconut + Niacinamide face wash by My Beauty Spot had going for it. The coconut scent was pleasing, but I never got the feeling that this face wash was serving a purpose other than cleansing my face. There were no noticeable differences and my skin didn’t feel any different, either – not even from a hydration perspective. I like all of the products that I use to pack multiple punches and this was just not it.

B&BW Shower Gel: I am a huge fan of Bath & Body Works products and Among The Clouds only received a “maybe” for reuse because of its scent. This was not my favorite by a long shot and I think I wasn’t feeling it because I had just used up a B&BW shower gel called Poppy and I LOVED it. While Poppy was bright and invigorating with notes of pear, Among The Clouds was more soft and subdued. This shower gel was a mix of vanilla and berry and it was nowhere near as well liked as Poppy for both me and Johnny! Having said that, the B&BW shower gels are the best and it took over a month of daily use to finish the bottle.

Azure Moisturizer: I will be turning the big 3-0 in June and decided that now was as good of a time as ever to introduce retinol and collagen products into my routine. The Azure moisturizer was the first one that I sampled and it did nothing for me. In a sense, I liked that this moisturizer wasn’t as extreme as other products and I could dip my toes in the water with it. But, not being as extreme meant not as effective and there was no difference in the way my skin looked or felt after over a month of twice daily use. I would definitely not buy or recommend this product!

This wasn’t my most successful month of beauty empties, but I’m honestly so fine with it! I was happy to be able to use all of these products up – especially the ones that I have been working on for a while. Now, I can enjoy all of the goodies I got for Christmas. Be on the lookout for posts about that soon!

Which products did you use up this month? What are your thoughts on any of the above if you have used them before? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Merry & Bright OOTD

Howdy!! Johnny and I took some couples holiday photos which you saw yesterday to show off some new Misny Merch. My husband simply worked it and our Tim Misny pillow and holiday sweaters didn’t look too bad either! Wearing our Santa suit Tim sweaters together was a hoot. This was my first time wearing a holiday themed piece of clothing since I was little and I couldn’t have picked a better one to break the over two decade long hiatus. While taking couples photos was my primary goal from this shoot, I had to take a few OOTD shots too! May I present, my Merry & Bright OOTD:

image_50461953(8)image_50744065image_50738433(8)image_50434305(6)image_50430721(6)

Who? What? Wear?

Holiday Sweater: Misny Merch

Skinny Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters

Red Heeled Boots: Bamboo, TJMaxx

Red Heart Earrings: SugarFix by Baublebar, Target

Whenever I am styling an OOTD, I always start out by identifying a key piece to create a look around. While it is fun to go shopping in my wardrobe boutique, it can be overwhelming to have all of those options! My Merry & Bright OOTD was an incredibly easy one to style because the Tim Misny holiday sweater was the outfit’s focal point. Not only is the image on the sweater bold, but it is huge too and that was my sign to keep the rest of the look simple. Additional touches like a necklace or cold weather accessories would have instantly formed a cluttered appearance, which is not the way to go when you want to showcase one particular item.

Next on the agenda was jeans and to maintain the “simple is best” approach, I put on my plain black skinnies. Originally, I had on my pair of coated Seven Jeans and it was an instant no no. The sheen of them against the muted sweater didn’t look cohesive in the slightest. It was more like two separate pieces working against each other rather than being complimentary. Instead of trying on more pairs with distressing or patterns, I went with my old standby and am glad I did!

Finally, it was onto shoes and accessories. Since the sweater was green and featured a holiday motif, I decided to go red with the finishing touches. For shoes, I selected a darling pair of heeled boots by Bamboo. The pointed toe and bright hue are so sassy and added some fun attitude to the outfit. These boots also feature an amazing surprise, which you can see in the second to last photo. I love the tassel zipper! Last on the agenda was earrings and I chose a dangly pair of red hearts. These helped create some length to my neck since everything else was covered up and tied the look together from head to toe.

If you are loving the Tim Misny holiday sweater, you can purchase it at Misny Merch and help support the Cleveland City Mission. Keep it locked for the blooper reel tomorrow!

What is your favorite charity to support? What do you plan on wearing to celebrate the holidays? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Medieval Times OOTD

Medieval Times OOTD

Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new OOTD here on lifewithlilred! As you read yesterday, I visited a board game bar this past weekend called The Green Dragon Inn. It is my new favorite place in Akron and was decorated like a Medieval tavern. I am still amazed that this gorgeous space exists not even twenty minutes away from me! It took a minute, but I had the perfect cardigan in mind to wear for this outing and I love the look that I created with it. Let’s take a gander and discuss further:

image_50769665(3)image_50459905(3)image_6487327(27)image_6487327(26)

Who? What? Wear?

Chain Pattern Cardigan: MaxSport LA, TJMaxx

Cami Top: mittoshop, French Rooster

Skinny Jeans: American Eagle Outfitters

Heeled Boots: Candie’s, Kohl’s

The earrings were a gift from my aunt and the necklace is from the Goodwill!

I had seen pictures of The Green Dragon Inn before our outing and wanted to style an atmospheric look to mesh with the wonderful setting. The initial planning phase of my Medieval Times OOTD had me going through multiple different options. I was thinking faux fur for a while, but I literally just created an OOTD with a faux fur accent and knew I had to pivot. As I continued to rack my brains, I remembered a fabulous longer cardigan by MaxSport LA and couldn’t believe I didn’t think of it right away!

I loved this cardigan for my visit to The Green Dragon for several reasons. The pattern, first and foremost, was ideal for the setting. The regal color palette of black, red, and gold felt like a nod to way back when and the chain pattern reminded me of a suit of armor. The shape of this cardigan also helped match the vibe as it fit more like a robe and had a hood. This little MaxSport number had me feeling like a video game character come to life and that is exactly what I wanted.

Since the cardigan was so bold and offered a lot of length, I kept the rest of the look sleek and simple. This was the best way to go because another pattern or even texture had the potential to overpower this outfit in the worst way. For my top, I chose one of my go to camis from French Rooster to add a feminine touch with the lace and show some skin as I was almost completely covered up. Prior to settling for a pair of plain black skinnies, I actually had on my coated pair by Seven Jeans. However, their sheen really clashed with the soft cloth motif that I was already working with on top and swapped them out. See, sleek and simple was definitely the way to go!

Finally, it was onto shoes and accessories. For my shoes, I put on a pair of heeled thigh high boots by Candie’s. These boots are old as dirt, but they are one of my favorite pairs and I felt like they embodied the “video game character IRL” aesthetic I was building. Granted, an adventurer probably wouldn’t wear heels, but you all get the point. Jewelry was next and I knew I wanted to incorporate a necklace so I selected a small pair of ruby red dangly hearts to keep from jewelry overload. For my necklace, I went with an amazing pendant I found from the Goodwill as a teen. You can’t tell, but it features a portrait of George Washington crossing the Delaware River lol. This pendant or amulet, if you will, tied my look together and I was ready to enter into the realm of The Green Dragon. 😀

A bit of trial and error went into styling my Medieval Times OOTD, but it was well worth the effort. I wanted to create a character look to wear to The Green Dragon Inn and I think I nailed it!

What is your favorite video game? How about your favorite video game character? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Thanksgiving Pt. 2 OOTD

Thanksgiving Pt. 2 OOTD

Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new OOTD here on lifewithlilred! You guys already saw the look I created for Thanksgiving day at my mom and dad’s and today we’re going to take a gander at what I wore to celebrate with Johnny’s family. We spent a wonderful day with Johnny’s mom, dad, and aunt the day after Thanksgiving. We had a delicious meal, played lots of goofy games like Quiplash, and had an absolute blast. For Thanksgiving Pt. 2, I wanted to style an OOTD that was cute, of course, but comfy too. Your girl was in a food coma from the day before lol! Check it out:

image_50769665(2)image_50769921(2)image_50456065(6)image_50734593(3)image_50737409(1)

Who? What? Wear?

Cheetah Print Cardigan: Ruby Moon, TJMaxx

Black Sweater: Shrinking Violet, TJMaxx

Coated Skinny Jeans: Seven Jeans, TJMaxx

Red Heeled Boots: Bamboo, TJMaxx

Coin Necklace: Mia Fiore, TJMaxx

I have no idea where the cross earrings are from!

Whenever I think of “cute and comfy” for cold weather clothing, my mind instantly conjures up cardigans. I love me a cardigan SO much and have quite the collection in every style and knit imaginable. Cardis are a fun piece of clothing because they are truly a dress up or dress down piece. An outfit featuring a cardigan can be as casual or as dressy as you make it and I chose my cheetah print cardi by Ruby Moon to get my OOTD started. Like my husband, I am very fond of animal print and the cheetah pattern of this cardigan just hit different. The jet black pattern against the wheat colored base felt chic and added a touch of sophistication to such a classic comfort piece.

Once I had selected my cardigan, the rest of the outfit was super easy to build from there. It was FREEZING on Thanksgiving Day and it was just as cold on Friday too. To stay warm, I put on a black sweater by Shrinking Violet. This was the perfect layering piece for underneath my cardi because it was thin and form fitting. Remember when layering that two thicker pieces on top of each other is a major no no unless you like looking like a marshmallow! I also liked that this sweater was completely plain so it let the cheetah print do all of the talking.

Next, it was time to visit the pants department and I knew just what I needed: My coated black skinnies by Seven Jeans. These actually feature a snakeskin pattern but you would never know unless you are really looking for it. However, it wasn’t the pattern I was interested in for these jeans but the texture. With two knit pieces on top, I wanted to add some visual interest on the bottom and my Seven Jeans gave the sheen to break things up. This was another way to keep my OOTD feeling chic even though I was purely dressing for comfort.

Finally, it was onto shoes and accessories. For jewelry, I had a nice blank canvas from the plain Shrinking Violet sweater so I could get away with a chunky necklace that had some length. I went for a stunning necklace by Mia Fiore that featured a bright gold chain and an antique coin as the pendant. I also put on a pair of long dangly cross earrings to offer some extra length to my neck since it was rather covered up. Since the base of this outfit was completely neutral, I knew that I could have some fun with the shoes. I chose my pointed toe, cherry red heeled boots by Bamboo and it gave a fabulous pop of color. With that, I was ready to go eat even more Thanksgiving food! 😀

I styled two completely different looks this Thanksgiving and I love how both of them turned out. For Thanksgiving Pt. 2, I wanted to style a look that would never let you know I was dressing to be comfy and I think I succeeded!

What do you wear to dress for comfort? What is your favorite pattern to wear? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
