Living For Lilac OOTD

Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new OOTD here on lifewithlilred! After getting my hair and tattoos done, I was feeling like a whole new woman and couldn’t wait to show it off. And, what better way to do that than with some OOTD pics?! With pink lemonade hair, I wanted to invoke all of the warm, spring vibes and sported an adorable matching skirt and top set. This look was pure fun to wear and with matching sets being so incredibly popular, it is very easy to replicate. Check it out:

I have no idea where the daisy earrings are from!

When I began styling this outfit, I had skirts on the mind because I wanted my tattoos to be visible. I browsed the several bodycon skirts in my collection and was coming up blank. Honestly, what you see above is a last resort because I wasn’t sure it was still going to fit. I purchased the matching crop top and skirt set three years ago from Altar’d State! Despite having a few butterflies in my basket about trying it on, I gave it a go anyways and it fit like a glove. Not overly tight, but not loose either which is exactly what you want for a matching set.

The beauty of a matching set is that your whole outfit is basically styled with minimal think work. This made for a very easy outfit building session for your girl! Before I moved onto shoes and accessories, I wanted to add one more piece to the outfit for variety and in case it was chilly out. I went with a patchwork jean jacket by Ci Sono, which fit the girly sweet vibe of the outfit perfectly. The lighter wash also complimented the soft lilac of the matching set. A good jean jacket is a spring staple and it’s also a neutral so you can wear it with almost anything and get away with it!

With the base of the outfit settled, it was time to wrap things up with shoes and accessories. For shoes, I chose a pair of speech bubble heels by LFL in cobalt blue. These added a punchy pop of color, length, and also didn’t break up my leg line too extremely with the low ankle strap. Since a ton of my tattoos were showing and that serves as an accessory in itself, I kept jewelry minimal and put on the cutest pair of daisy earrings as a nod to the beautiful blooms of spring. With that, I was ready to show off my brand new look!

New Coral & Lilac Nails

Hello! This past Monday, I was able to finally get my nails done after work and it was SO very needed. I was unable to come in during Christmas week because sick and my salon takes a week off after New Years so that was a no go either. After a much deserved break for all of the wonderful employees of Elysian Nails, my appointment for a fill couldn’t have come sooner. My nails were looking awful – they were insanely grown out, dull as dishwater, and there was some lifting too. I couldn’t stand it! Thankfully, a new to me tech got me right and it was one of the best fills I’ve had in months. Check it out:

During the grey months of winter, I normally opt for deeper colors for my nails. However, after a not ideal holiday break, I needed some brightness in my life and decided to change things up. I was craving the poppy, fun shades of spring and a coral polish caught my eye as I was scouring my selection. This hue just screamed spring and was like an instant pick me up. To keep with the spring motif, I went with a lovely lilac as my complimentary color and loved how it turned out. I seriously can’t stop staring at my nails as I type this and they are a breath of fresh air to start the new year with.

For such a pretty color palette, I needed pretty nails to match and my tech did an incredible job. I was very impressed with her from the jump because she was so detail oriented. For example, she took the time to really work on my cuticles and that is something that I have never had a tech do before. I didn’t realize how bad mine were until she removed all of the dead skin that was ready to come off. My tech tended to everything wrong with my nails with so much precision and care. By the time she was done, it was like the lifted nails never happened in the first place. My nails felt strong, sturdy, and sharp enough to poke an eye out and that’s exactly how I like it!

One of my favorite things about Elysian Nails is that your hands will always be in the best hands no matter which tech is pampering you. Everyone is so amazingly skilled and even though I couldn’t get an appointment with my go to girl, I was still treated like a long term client by the tech who did my fill. You simply can’t beat that level of customer service! ❤

New Hair, Don’t Care

New Hair, Don’t Care

Hi! I haven’t had my hair done or a day off, for that matter, since the day before my wedding. So, needless to say, your girl was in desperate need of both! This past week, I took a day off to have my dear friend and stylist, Anna, work her magic at the Shear Shop. This time around, we incorporated Pulp Riot’s Lilac into the red and pink for something totally different and totally fun. I am totally obsessed! To achieve my multi-colored hair, Anna used Pulp Riot’s Fireball, Blush, and Lilac after bleaching the roots. The Lilac dye was applied to all of my insanely grown out roots for a new twist on the convertible hair that I have been rocking. I love the full effect when my hair is down but it is also so cute when it is pulled up and you can see the lilac roots underneath the top layer.

My new hair legit makes me feel like a fairy princess and I have basically been living in front of the mirror since I got it done because I can’t stop looking at myself! The three different colors are just so pretty together and it is exciting to have such a big change from what I was doing before. While some might find it nerve wracking to have something so major done to their hair, I am never worried because I know that I am in the best hands with Anna and she delivers every time.

Nothing makes me feel more confident than freshly dyed and cut hair as well as my time spent with my stylist. I wouldn’t want to spend a day off anywhere else than in her salon chair and I am already itching to go back. New Wine & Lilac Nails

Hello!! This past Monday, I had a pretty difficult day at work and was so happy to have been able to spend some time at Elysian Nails getting pampered afterwards. To me, there is nothing better than sitting back and relaxing at the hair or nail salon and my fill couldn’t have come at a better time. As always, I left Elysian feeling like a million bucks with these pretty in purple nails:

When it comes to clothing and colors in general, I am not a huge fan of purple. Not that I don’t appreciate its beauty – it just doesn’t look good on me lol! However, I was feeling inspired by the oxblood nail polish that my friend, Danielle, gave me and was in the mood to try something different. The first polish that caught my eye was the deep wine color and I said “why not?”. For the accent color, choosing the lilac hue was an easy decision because I knew that it would look good and didn’t feel like thinking any more than I had to!

My favorite nail tech no longer works at Elysian, which makes me so sad but, luckily, I think I found a new go to gal with this past fill. My new tech completed my fill in roughly forty minutes and no sooner than I sat down, it felt like I was already done… It was great! 😀

Even though this was a super fast fill, my nails looked absolutely perfect and I loved the color combination that I selected. In fact, I already plan on going a similar route at my next appointment with a dark and light shade of the same color. I’m thinking a dark and light grey next. ❤
