Bath Bomb Blitz: Secret Arts Edition

Bath Bomb Blitz: Secret Arts Edition

Hello everyone and welcome to a new edition of Bath Bomb Blitz! This amazing Jelly Bomb from Lush is called Secret Arts and it was part of my birthday gift from the beautiful Kate of Ankhor You. Kate knows me all too well, because only a true best friend would gift me with a bath bomb that turns the water black! Check it out:

When I first popped Secret Arts into the bath tub, I was so pleased to see the water turning into an inky black, because bathing in black water is one of my emo kid fantasies. And, as the bath bomb began to dissolve, it revealed a deep magenta core that spiraled out into the water. It actually looked a lot like a Golden Snitch from Harry Potter… except not golden at all, but you get the point.

As I made my way into the tub, I noticed a layer of film over the water that didn’t look like anything I’ve seen before while Bath Bomb Blitzing. Little did I know, I was using a Jelly Bomb, and it transformed the water into a rich, creamy gel. It actually felt a lot like butter and it definitely felt a lot like magic. A coincidence from my BFF who also loves Harry Potter as much as me? I think not!

After making the discovery that I had a skin treatment included in this bath bomb, I took the time to rub the body butter film all over myself and it was so delicious. It moisturized my skin so well that I didn’t even need to apply lotion upon exiting the tub but, of course I did anyways to revel in the full bath time experience.

The only negative about this product was the clean up afterwards. It left a slippery, black residue in my tub that needed serious elbow grease to remove. It literally looked like an oil spill took place in my bath tub. So, if you’re not interested in a heavy duty tub scrubbing after your bath, then Secret Arts is not for you. But, if you don’t mind it, then it will be a magical bath time, indeed.

*Cue Harry Potter theme music*

O’Keeffe’s Lip Repair Lip Balm Review

O’Keeffe’s Lip Repair Lip Balm Review

Howdy! So, normally, I’m not a huge lip balm kind of gal. I’m notorious for licking it off my lips if it tastes good, I hate the little white flecks that form on your mouth after wearing it for a while, and sometimes my lips feel even dryer after applying the LIP CHAP in the first place. But, then I tried this here O’Keeffe’s Lip Repair Lip Balm and my opinion changed drastically. Check it out:

okeeffe1

Weirdly enough, this lip balm was given to me FO FREE at the Cleveland Zoo when I went last week. It was so random, but I’m glad for it, because I can’t get enough of this stuff. Why, you might ask? Because…

  1. It’s unscented, so I’m not eating chapstick all day because it smells so good. There is probably so much Lip Smackers in my belly from my childhood!
  2. I’ve applied this product several times since I got it, and I haven’t had one single white fleck problem on my mouth.
  3. The texture is thick (But not too thick!), and my lips feel hydrated after using it as opposed to thirsting for another application.
  4. Because this balm is so rich, it leaves your lips with a gorgeous creamy color instead of anything too glossy or sticky.

I’m not one to gab about lip balm, but I really am gaga over this one and would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. You won’t be disappointed!

What is your favorite brand of lip balm? Have you used any O’Keeffe products before? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

June 2018 Finishes

Hello! In just a few short days, my birth month will be drawing to a close. And, that can only mean that it’s time to go over my beauty finishes for June! So sit back, take a look at my empties, and let’s discuss:

Would I Use Again?

  • L’oreal Extraordinary Oil hair serum: MAYBE
  • The Body Shop Cocoa Butter: YES
  • The Body Shop Strawberry Body Butter: YES
  • The Body Shop Satsuma Body Butter: YES

Why/Why Not?

L’oreal Hair Serum: Guys, it took me over ONE YEAR to finish this L’oreal serum and, I must say, that it did its job well. I applied two pumps to my hair after my shower every morning, and it left my locks shiny, silky, and frizz free post straightening. And, it smelled awesome! If given the opportunity, I would use this again. But, I’m not married to the product and am looking forward to trying something new.

TBS Cocoa Butter: You all know how much I love me my cocoa butter! I seriously cannot get enough of this stuff and have to buy a tub every time I see it at TJMaxx. I feel spoiled rotten whenever I use it and the rich chocolate scent never gets old. I got six full body uses out of this container.

TBS Strawberry & Satsuma Body Butter: These mini butters were from a Christmas gift, and I finally got around to using both of them up. Granted, it didn’t take long, because I only got a full body and a half use out of each container. But, that’s okay, because they were still nice to use and I love both scents – especially Satsuma!

This month, I enjoyed using lots of body butter and finally finishing my serum from L’oreal. I am really happy with all four products that I used up in June and am looking forward to reviewing more empties come July!

Is there a product that has taken you forever to use up? What is your favorite body butter scent from The Body Shop? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Bath Bomb Blitz: Lush’s Over & Over Edition

Bath Bomb Blitz: Lush’s Over & Over Edition

Hello! This past weekend, I finally got to enjoy a nice, long soak in the tub with one of the bath bombs from Lush that I received for my birthday. I was feeling so worn out, so I decided to go with the Over & Over bath bomb, because of its bright yellow and orange color to see if it might help energize me. And, after watching it take off in different directions in my tub like a little rocket, it surely did! Take a look:

orangeorange1orange2orange3orange4orange5orange6orange8orange7orange9

This is so bad, but my first thought when this bath bomb hit the water was “great, it’s going to look like a tub full of pee”, because of the initial pale yellow color. But, shortly after, I was proven wrong, because the pink coloring from inside the bomb began fizzing out in full force. So much so, that it literally made the bomb whiz off in the opposite direction of the tub like a shooting star. It. Was. Awesome.

From then on, the bomb began fizzing its vivid yellows, oranges, and hot pinks for a solid ten minutes, all the while it was filling my bathroom with a scent that was like freshly squeezed pink lemonade. The swirling colors left the final shade of the water a really pretty sunset orange and it felt like laying in a bubble of sunshine once I finally got into the tub.

Not only was the bath bomb display gorgeous but, because it’s made with cocoa butter (My favorite!), it left my skin feeling so hydrated and good – especially after shaving the Woolly Mammoth legs! 10/10 would use this bomb Over & Over again!

What is your favorite bath bomb from Lush? What is your favorite non bath bomb product from there? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

New Beige & Black Nails

New Beige & Black Nails

Hello and happy Hump Day! I finally had time last week to get a much needed fill for my claws, and I’m feeling pretty blah about them. I went with the usual black and chose a beigey nude color for the accent nail. I was feeling really good about the color palette, because I wanted matte nails and I thought that the black and beige would look amazing like that. But, it wasn’t until after my nails were painted that my nail tech discovered that they were all out of matte top coat. -___- I’m not thrilled with my latest fill, but we can’t always win in life! Lol, here are my claws this time around:

beige

Another major pisser about this fill is that TWO of my nails broke on the exact same day, which literally never happens. The nail related irritation that day was so real, I could have screamed. Despite the major claw flaws, my talons are shaped up and sharpened, which pleases me more than an exciting color palette. I still would really like to go the matte route, though, so hopefully next time they will have a top coat for me!

What do you do about broken nails? What color of polish do you have on right now? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Bite Beauty Lip Crayon Swatch In Glace

Bite Beauty Lip Crayon Swatch In Glace

Hi! As promised, today we are going to swatch the second gift from my Sephora birthday freebie – their lip crayon in Glace! The swatching experience for this lippie was an unfortunate one, because after I snapped my pictures, I dropped the crayon on my white carpet. :((((( It was a hot mess, but a blogger’s job is never easy, so let’s get on with the show:

glaceglace1glace2

As described in yesterday’s post, this lip crayon by Bite definitely has a minty smell to it, which certainly makes for a different sensation when wearing a lipstick! As disappointed at myself as I am for dropping this on the carpet, I think that Glace is a lovely shade. It doesn’t have as glossy of a look to it as yesterday’s swatch did, which I like a lot, because I am a matte girl at heart.

This lip crayon is especially nice, because the size of it doesn’t feel like a mini one at all, as opposed to the itty bitty lipstick from yesterday. It’s cool that a huge company like Sephora genuinely wants to pamper their costumers on their big day, because this crayon will definitely last for a good long while. But, then again, who am I to talk considering I’ve only finished one tube of lipstick in my entire life! :’D

Do you prefer matte or glossy lip colors? What is your favorite brand that Sephora carries? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Bite Beauty Lipstick Swatch In Chai

Bite Beauty Lipstick Swatch In Chai

Howdy everyone and happy Monday! I am really feeling my birthday treats from Sephora – a lipstick, lip crayon, and lip balm and scrub by Bite Beauty. I finally have gotten a chance to swatch them and am feeling it EVEN MORE! Take a looksee at Chai and then tune in tomorrow to see the swatch of the lip crayon in Glace!

chai2chai1chai3

Aside from my initial first impression on this lipstick being gorgeous, my second one was that it smelled awesome! This lippie had a very minty smell to it, which is great because it looks pretty and freshens your breath. How can you refuse that sales pitch?!

In my initial article about my Sephora birthday gift, I mentioned how both this shade and the color I’m swatching tomorrow will look lovely on literally anyone, and I stand by that statement wholeheartedly. Chai has such a soft, dusty rose undertone to it, which works well with any skin tone, hair, or eye color. I like that Sephora really thinks about what will be the most inclusive shades for their birthday treats and completely knocks it out of the park each time.

This is my second year in a row getting a birthday prezzie from Sephora, and I am equally, if not more, satisfied with the Bite Beauty kit this time around. Chai is a perfect date night shade and can easily transition from work to play while still looking appropriate. This color is also suitable for all four seasons because it truly sits right in the middle of too dark and too light, making it an amazing shade all year round.

What has been your favorite birthday gift from Sephora? Who is a fan of Bite Beauty products? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Sephora Beauty Insider Birthday Gift

Sephora Beauty Insider Birthday Gift

Hi!! Before I even began shopping at Sephora, and by shopping I mean just buying Better Than Sex mascara, I was sure to sign up for their Beauty Insider rewards program to cash in on free product for my birthday. This year, you could choose between a mini moisturizer and mud treatment by Glamglow or a lip kit by Bite. Of course, I chose the lipsticks to experiment with the gorgeous shades offered in the prezzie. I’ll swatch them later but, for now, check out how nice this freebie is:

Seen Below:

  • Mini Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Chai
  • Mini Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Glace
  • Agave Lip Treatment Sample Duo (A scrub and balm)

I am completely in love with both the lipstick and lip crayon by Bite. Chai and Glace are shades that would look great on anyone, and it’s always fun to try out new makeup – especially products that you wouldn’t necessarily buy for yourself. And, the scrub and balm sample duo will be great during a spa night to keep my lips pucker perfect!

Check back soon for swatches of each shade! ❤

Which birthday freebie from Sephora would you choose? Which stores and eateries have the best rewards programs? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

New Pixi Eyeliner

New Pixi Eyeliner

Hello everyone and happy Monday! My mom is a big fan of Pixi cosmetics and always scores super awesome deals when shopping their products online. She always manages to get some type of freebie or percentage off of her order, making the purchasing of a more expensive makeup line totally worthwhile. During her last online haul, my mom got two mini eyeliners for free, and bequeathed the black one onto me since she wouldn’t use it. Take a look:

pixi1pixi2

I have to say, this Endless Silky Liner by Pixi offers the smoothest application that I’ve experienced from any drugstore brand. Although I use similar eyeliners to this one, you can definitely tell that they are a pencil. Not the case with this one. The liner itself feels so creamy and the color is so pure and I can kind of see why people would spend about fourteen dollars for a full sized one of these.

Would I ever venture into purchasing from the Pixi brand after I finish this eyeliner? Maybe if it was a really amazing deal. But, I’m okay with sticking to my CoverGirl eyeliner for now! 🙂

What brand of eyeliner do you use? Do you use a liquid liner or a pencil? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

“You Don’t Wash Your Hair?!”

Standard
“You Don’t Wash Your Hair?!”

Hello!! So I have received many a request asking me to write about how I don’t wash my hair, so here it is. Bear in mind, that these are the results for my body. I can’t promise anything for anyone else, so please don’t get mad at me if a similar phenomenon doesn’t happen for your hair! Okay, with that disclaimer out of the way, here we go:

I began dyeing my hair when I was fifteen or so, and even at that age, I was a penny pincher. I would avoid washing my hair for as long as I could to keep the color looking fresh and sleek. But, it wasn’t until red became my staple color that I began thinking about what would happen if I just stopped washing my hair altogether.

Throughout my life, I never had problems with oily or greasy hair and never really experienced dandruff or dryness, either. My hair has always been very healthy, so it made the early stages of my no wash regime easy, because even after a week, my hair still remained nice and fresh. It was awesome.

I think that I was about seventeen when I began dyeing my hair red regularly, and it pissed me off when I would wash my hair and see the color literally washing down the drain. But, still, I was in high school and for fear of people thinking that I was weirder than I already was, I kept with my weekly washing routine. And, all of the while, my hair was just fine. No oil, no grease, no odor, nothing.

I maintained my week or so wash schedule for a while, but then, a new beauty revelation came out about four years ago – dry shampoo. So, you’re telling me, that there’s a product out there specifically made so that you don’t have to wash your hair?? Amazing!! For the next one or two months, dry shampoo became my best friend, and I worked my way up to just not washing my hair, period.

But, then, I noticed a few major character flaws with dry shampoo. It left my hair SO difficult so work with, it looked dusty, and I hated the baby powder smell. I also didn’t see the point in paying for it when my hair was doing fine without any products like that for years. So, I eliminated dry shampoo and washing in one foul swoop.

And, guess what? It was all okay. Even with using product in my hair daily and being a cigarette smoker, my hair has been so used to cleaning itself that it remains oil, grease, and odor free for an entire month. The only time that I get my hair wet now, is when I redye it monthly. And, even then, I only condition my hair because I am so anti shampoo.

I have literally been training my hair for this point in my life for seven years. And now, for a solid four of them, I haven’t been washing my hair at all. My hair is my crowning jewel and its vibrant red summarizes my personality and brand perfectly. And, with a wash free lifestyle, I get to keep my color looking freshly dyed until I need to touch up my roots. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Who else embraces a no wash lifestyle? Who is willing to try out something like that? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
