On The Move OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my On The Move OOTD! On Saturday, we took our darling niece out for Treat Day and the most fun was had by all. I even got all dressed down for the occasion, which is something that rarely happens in a normal OOTD post. Hey, sometimes you’ve got to shake things up – exactly what the blooper reel is all about! Let’s take a lookieloo at some WTF moments from the shoot:

Johnny and I are avid fans of scary movies and we watch them all year round. They just hit different during spooky season, though! Every October, Johnny and I attempt to watch a scary movie per day to complete the thirty-one movies in thirty-one days challenge. Have we ever completed it? Absolutely not, but we sure do like to try lol. If nothing else, it gives us something to look forward to when we are both home from work and up for a movie screening.

As per our tradition, we alternate between who is picking the movie. Thank goodness because I think we would spend all evening deciding if we went with the mutual option route. Johnny and I have extremely different tastes in scary movies. He loves a slasher and the dumber the better (Winnie the Pooh Blood & Honey, anyone?). Myself, on the other hand, much prefers dark psychological thrillers. They might not always have a jump scare aspect to it, but I really like that they make you think. We are definitely in for an… interesting array of movies all October long!

Regardless of what we watch, I so enjoy a cozy evening in with my main squeeze. Even if he makes fun of me every time I’m startled (Which is often)! 😀

Werk At Work OOTD Bloopers

Today, we are going to take a look at the bad and the yikes that came from a speedy shoot before I had to be at a content shoot. I like to think that my best face was put forward during my evening of making some media magic. These shots, however, certainly don’t fall under that category in the slightest! Let’s get to it:

On Saturday, Johnny and I had a delightful treat day with our eldest niece. She recently started kindergarten and we are SO proud of her, so we just had to take her out and celebrate. We visited an indoor amusement center that features arcade games, laser tag, roller skating, trampolines, rides, etc. Her favorite thing is the gigantic playground smack dab in the middle of the facility. It is basically a McDonald’s PlayPlace on steroids and it seriously looks like the funnest thing ever lol. Unfortunately, us big people could only hang on the bottom floor of the playground… Until this weekend, that is!

As Johnny and I watched our niece explore, we both agreed that we really wanted to go down one of the enormous slides. We were the only people in the play area so we figured it wouldn’t hurt to ask the attendant and he said… NO. -_- Of course, we understood but were secretly peeved about it so we activated stealth mode. As we were standing around, Johnny clocked that the attendant had his back turned and told me he was going to go down the slide anyways. Like a thief in the night, he made his way up the towering structure and was simply gleeful when he emerged at the bottom of the slide. And, as the ride or die that he is, he stood guard as I took a trip down the slide too. We felt most cheeky with our small act of rebellion and it was one thousand percent worth it – that slide was amazing!

One of Johnny’s favorite things to do when playing video games is “being sneaky” and it definitely translated in real life. We all had the best day!!

Date Day OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Date Day OOTD! Johnny and I got all prettied up this past weekend for an afternoon on the town and we had the best time. We have been together for over five years and married for three of them. I still get butterflies when I see my main squeeze and it makes even the most simple outings of shopping and lunch feel special. Everything about our day was perfect… minus these blooper shots, anyways! Lol check it out:

This little story has nothing to do with date day, but everything to do with what is currently happening in my apartment at this exact moment. It is six in the morning as I type this and it’s raining cats and dogs out. I absolutely love rainy days and my bunnies, Melvin and Penelope, really enjoy them too. Normally, they are pretty rambunctious in the morning and are getting into adorable mischief. When it rains, however, they shift into pensive mode and use that time to have their bunny reflections.

One of Melvin and Penelope’s favorite spots to chill is behind their hutch next to a big window. Said window offers a four inch or so sill that they always try to chew on and requires constant intervention… Except for when it rains! Rather than chew, the bunnies will put their little front paws on the ledge and watch the weather. It is basically the cutest thing ever but I can never get a picture of it before they beeline away! The running joke between Johnny and me is that it would be SO funny if we could capture this moment while “Thank You” by Dido plays in the background. If you are unfamiliar with the title of the song, you might recognize its lyrics of:

Long story short, that is what is going on in real time at chez moi and it definitely gave me my laughs for the morning. Our rainy day bunnies will never not be funny to us!

Howdy everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Hello, Yellow OOTD. This look was worn on a mad dash of a ten plus hour work day and I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. I am pleased to report that I made it through and even put together a fun little look too! Like the theme of the day, taking OOTD pics was a rapid fire process. Have you had one of those “are you freaking kidding me?” moments recently? I definitely did this week! My brother and I like to hike together as often as we can. It is great exercise and gives us the chance to chat away or not say anything at all. There is a wonderful trail right down the street from us and it is one that we frequent regularly. We always thought it was strange when we visited the park that we had to walk a good quarter of a mile on a street to get to the trail itself. And, every time without fail, I would bring up that it was like we were in a horror movie.

Because of the process alone of getting to the trail, we never finished the path in its entirety. However, we are completing a Fall Hiking Spree and we both had enough energy that we decided to go for it this time. We walked, and walked, and walked some more. I had a minor heart attack when a snake slithered by me on the path but we trudged along as my blood pressure sky rocketed. Shortly after, we both realized that we had no idea where we were because the trail is anything but well marked. All that we could do was keep walking and eventually, we ended up at a parking lot that was infinitely closer to the trail. This entire time, we could have avoided the odd on the street trek had I known said parking lot existed. It’s nice to know now SMH!

This hike introduced us to a brand new world. Well, a brand new parking lot anyways. But, hey, we still had a blast and got a killer, albeit longer work out to boot!

Hello everyone and welcome to the blooper reel to my Super Casual OOTD! Thankfully, Johnny and I took these pictures before leaving for our niece’s second birthday party and not after. Not five minutes into the gathering, I spilled juice on my shirt. This is absolutely TMI but I had to walk around the party looking like I was lactating for two hours lol SMH. Despite this faux pas, a wonderful time was had by all and hopefully my boob stain wasn’t too noticeable! And, of course, the pics we are about to see are nothing short of a faux pas too. As summer draws to a close, I realize that I did not achieve a stereotypical “bikini body” this year. Or any year, as a matter of fact lol. This is okay because a true bikini body is just a body in a bikini. However, I have to admit that when I wore the crop top above, I was a bit self conscious. My tummy is far from perfectly flat and I am perfectly aware of it. I guess I was just a little more aware of it that particular day. But you know what I did? I wore the crop top anyways! Because at the end of the day, who cares? I still felt good in the top and that was all that mattered to me.

While I contemplated my belly, I thought about how different my body is as a thirty year old woman as opposed to when I was twenty. Was my stomach flatter back in the day? Absolutely. But bodies change and gaining some extra pounds comes with aging. I also considered my activity throughout the week. I have an incredibly strenuous work schedule and I try to go for a walk or hike at least four days a week. I asked myself if after all of that, did I really want to work out once I’m home from work and the resounding answer was a HARD NO!

During my whirlwind body thoughts, I came to the conclusion that I am happy with how I look and that is a beautiful place to be. Yes, I did initially feel self conscious in the top. But, I thought about it carefully and weighed my options. With that, I decided that there is nothing more for me to do than wear whatever I want, when I want. It was a liberating feeling and when I was done having my think session, I felt much better than I did before. And, when next summer rolls around, my bikini body will be ready. All I need to do is add a bikini. 🙂

Flower Child OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the Blooper Reel from my Flower Child OOTD! These pictures were taken during a charming little date day I had with Johnny and is, hands down, one of my favorite summer OOTDs yet. From head to toe, I felt fabulous in this fit and it had me thinking that maybe dressing for summer isn’t so bad after all. Momentarily, anyways! Although I was feeling my damn self, there were definitely some pics that didn’t match the superstar vibes lol. Let’s take a look:

Whenever Johnny and I are out and about, we often get stopped to chat it up with people. We both have very distinctive personal styles and it turns into an instant conversation starter. This is something that we really enjoy because we love meeting new people and it’s always nice to receive compliments too! As we concluded OOTD shots and were making our way back to our car, we were stopped in our tracks by the tiniest voice saying that she likes butterflies too. When we turned around, we saw a little girl with her dad and sisters who took a liking to my sunglasses.

For the better part of fifteen minutes, we made chit chat with the lovely family visiting the area from Columbus. Johnny and the dad were able to talk music while the sister squad and I talked up a storm. We chattered away about animals, birthdays, Taylor Swift, and fun places they might like to see during their trip. By the time our conversation was done, the admirer of my sunglasses invited me to her fifth birthday party and I almost cried lol. It was just SO sweet and if they weren’t in completely different cities I might have had to take her up on it!

The point of this story is to engage with and be kind to everyone you meet. This chat totally made mine and Johnny’s day and it all started with four simple words of “I like butterflies too”! ❤

Hellooo everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Born To Ball OOTD! I took a brief hiatus from OOTD posts for a bit due to the craziness that is my life and it feels great to finally be back at it. I love to style outfits for any and all occasions – even when I put a look together just to put my pajamas back on afterwards. Fashion has always been a huge passion of mine, mainly because it is just pure fun. I have a blast every time I go shopping in my closet and seeing what I can dream up next! Of course, even if the outfit is straight fire, there will forever be pictures that are so not lol. Let’s take a look at some of these shots that definitely didn’t make the first cut:

Who, me?

As an adult, it can be really hard to do anything more than adulting. Go to work, make money to pay bills, return home exhausted, and then rinse and repeat until the weekend. Then, it feels impossible to live it up on the weekend when all you want to do is relax. I have fallen into this vicious cycle more often than I care to admit and have been trying my best to not let it happen again. Everyone needs fun in their lives and sometimes you just need to muster up the strength and go even if you aren’t entirely feeling it. Getting back into weekly OOTDs were my way of dipping my toes back in the water, so to speak, and it really has helped. It makes making plans and sticking to them way easier when you are already looking fresh to death!

Since mine and Johnny’s Fourth of July staycation, I have realized the merits of outings, home projects, and hobbies and I feel like the pep in my step is back. I have a lot of stress in my life and adding one more thing to my schedule used to stress me out doubly, even if it was something fun. Once I got out of my own head about it, making plans turned into a welcome relief and distraction instead of a chore. If you find yourself caught in a similar situation, I encourage you to dip your toes in the water too. Start small with something simple that brings you pleasure and keep building up from it. You will thank yourself when your life starts to feel more well rounded than just going through the motions. I sure did. 🙂

Date Day OOTD Bloopers

Hellooo beautiful people and welcome to the Blooper Reel from my Date Day OOTD! Johnny and I had some absolutely glorious time off for Fourth of July and it was such a treat. During a normal workweek, we only ever make plans for the weekend. In one week, it was like we squeezed a month’s worth of weekends in and we had a blast! It was so nice to enjoy the summer weather and it was perfect last week. It was never overly hot which is exactly what your favorite vampire couple needs. On Tuesday afternoon we took a stroll through an outdoor shopping center and, of course, I needed to find a brick wall to post in front of for some OOTD shots. And, yes, bloopers too:

It is a very rare occasion that I call off of work because, first and foremost, I freaking love my jobs and secondly, I am self employed. The whole no PTO thing can be a massive pain! A lament I’ve had this summer is how awesome life would be if we still got a summer vacation lol. Could you imagine three months of nonstop fun?! It would be a dream! Then, Johnny blessedly had a week and change off for the holiday and I knew that it was my big chance for a summer staycation too. I worked a few shifts as well as online, but a majority of our time was spent with our version of fun in the sun.

We did a little bit of this and a little bit of that during our staycay. There was shopping, mini golf, running around the park like crazy people with our nieces, and catching up with our friends. We had some delicious meals out and I had time to cook a delicious meal myself! When we weren’t out and about, Johnny and I spent a lot of time in our game room that he has been working so hard on. We listened to records, played cards and Scrabble, or just sat and talked. It was a novelty to hang out somewhere other than our living room and we were still able to monitor our mischievous little bunnies for maximum safety! ❤

I loved every minute of my staycay with Johnny and am so glad we had the opportunity to have done so. I was able to turn my summer blahs into boo-yeahs and can’t wait for more adventures!

Spring Picnic OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Spring Picnic OOTD! Last Friday, Johnny and I made a trip to Misnyland to hang out with Tim Misny and contest winners for a picnic. We all had an awesome time and it was definitely a straight shot to the nostalgia because a party like the one we attended was how I met Tim in the first place. It was so fun to meet other Misny super fans and I think it’s just the tops to see people so happy thanks to my new boss’ efforts. I’m just hoping they didn’t see these moments when I was taking OOTD shots:

Mirror, mirror on the wall – who’s the fairest of them all?

Post bloopers, I like to talk about a funny occurrence or something random. I guess this story is going to fall under the random category… I don’t know about all of you, but I live for throwback music. The 90s and 2K era for pop, rap, and alternative just can’t be beat and it’s nice to know that my musical taste stunted around 2010 lol. Because I drive a lot for work, I have grown increasingly fond of radio programs. I love playing the trivia games on 107.9 and listening to the Jeremiah Show on 96.5. My favorite thing, though, is Throwback Thursday on 88.1.

88.1 is a super cool station that is run by the students at the University of Akron and is what I listen to the most frequently. Every Thursday, they play throwback hits all day and it makes for the best day ever. The irony is not lost on me that these students were probably not even born when these songs were coming out! But I digress. As the weather has turned lovely in Ohio, it made my last Throwback Thursday even better than usual. With the windows down and music blasting, it almost made me forget that I was on my way to work. But, hey, that early Britney Spears is going to do it for me every time!

I have officially turned into one of those people that has got to listen to their radio programs and I can’t say I’m mad about it. My next goal is to dedicate some time to doing tons of entries to play trivia on 107.9 because I am confident I can win it. So, don’t be surprised if baby girl has a future come up lol!

Living For Lilac OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Living For Lilac OOTD! During a very easy work week last week, I enjoyed getting new tattoos and my hair done. I felt so spoiled and pampered and have been simply obsessed with the results. It has been a long while since I did a total hair transformation or gotten a tap out session and my only regret is that I didn’t do it sooner! I was feeling my damn self while taking OOTD shots over the weekend and a few of the pics were my favorite in recent history. The ones we are about to take a look at? Eh, not so much! Lol, check it out:

I like to think of myself as seasoned in the art of getting tattoos. I got my first one the day I turned eighteen and have been tattooed more times than I can count in the past twelve years. In fact, a recent post featured my golden rules for a long tattoo session. I follow these standards religiously and they have never failed me – even during the longest almost ten hour appointments. So, tell me why I decided to just forget one of these rules the day of my last tap out?!

Before my appointment, I had a good breakfast and snacked on the way to the tattoo shop and as I waited to get started. Once my artist began working on the first piece, it was go time and I let my mind go to my happy place. In between singing along to the bumping music at the shop and chatting with the artists, I was on my phone or in my own little world. Before I knew it, we were already on the last piece of the day. It was then that I realized it had been a fat minute since I had eaten and it caught up to me quickly.

This was the first time I had EVER gotten the shakes when being tattooed and I was so thankful that I stocked up on snacks at the gas station beforehand. After housing almost an entire bag of honey roasted peanuts, I was good as new. Like it had never even happened and the rest of the appointment went without a hitch. Don’t pull a me and be sure to EAT if you are getting tattooed – no matter how distracted or not hungry you are feeling. The shakes was the literal worst!

Although I failed to follow one of my tried and true tattoo rules, everything was a-okay and I was happy to have been able to complete the session. I have never tapped out yet! I can’t wait to get the last few odds and ends added soon! 😀
