Middle Class Fancy At Applebees

Middle Class Fancy At Applebees

Hello! Johnny and I only have streaming services so we don’t see commercials very often except for on Peacock. It’s mainly just insurance and medication commercials lol but sometimes we are gifted by seeing the new items on the menu at pizza shops and restaurants. The one that really caught our eye last week was the OM-Cheese Burger from Applebees. It is basically a burger placed in a bath of melted cheese and it looked absolutely beautiful. Johnny asked if I wanted to go get it for lunch the following weekend and my answer was a resounding YES. I was looking forward to it all week and it was a wonderful Middle Class Fancy afternoon on the town! Check it out:

Saturday was an exciting day not just because of Middle Class Fancy but because it was the Royal Rumble, baby! Every year we watch with our bestie and turn it into a big event. Our lunch at Applebees was the perfect way to fuel up for the big show! From start to finish, our experience was excellent – as per ushe. Our server was a delight, the drinks were just right, and our food was dynamite. I think I should start a career in poetry! We also were able to utilize their fantastic 2 for $25 deal for our meals that offers one appetizer and two entrees. You can’t beat that and we opted for the mozzarella sticks and two OM-Cheese Burgers. Our server wasn’t sure if they could make the entree with an Impossible Burger but they pulled through and I am eternally grateful. This dish was what dreams are made of.

I was completely starving when we went to lunch and our food arrived blessedly quick. As soon as that fajita plate was put in front of me, it was go time. Unlike Johnny, I am a fries first kind of girl because fries will never be better than when they are first placed in front of you. The French fries were crisp, salty, and were good until the very last one. Then, it was burger time. When I told people we were going to Applebees to try this concoction, the majority of responses were that it looked disgusting lol. I replied that you had to see past the initial disgust to get to the beauty inside and it was a very accurate sentiment! This cheeseburger was in a pool of ooey gooey queso dip and it was just divine. The burger was juicy, the buns were fluffy, and that cheese though! I err on the side of cheesy whenever the option is available and it was like this meal was made for me. It was so tasty and filling and I honestly could have benefited from a nap afterwards. Exactly how a Middle Class Fancy date should end! ❤

If you are a cheese fiend, the OM-Cheese Burger from Applebees is a must try. Get your Middle Class Fancy on and have a blast!!

Beyond Meat Veggie Burger Review

Beyond Meat Veggie Burger Review

Hello! Whenever Johnny and I are in the mood for veggie burgers, we tend to go with the MorningStar Grillers. However, we had the opportunity to try a new to us meatless brand called Beyond Meat. This “opportunity” was completely random. I have NO idea where or how Johnny’s dad acquired two big bags of the Beyond Meat patties but he did and bequeathed them onto us lol. My father-in-law is always ragging on me for being a vegetarian (It’s hilarious – seriously!) but he sure is supportive and provided us with the best veggie burger we’ve ever had at home:

Meatless options have truly evolved over the years and Johnny and I have tried several that we were genuinely concerned was actual meat lol. I hate that!! In fact, the first time I ever tried a Beyond Burger in a restaurant, I had to have the waiter double check that that was for real what I was eating. Ever since that fateful incident, I have never had a Beyond Burger again. I can’t enjoy my food if I am worried with every bite I take! For a majority of my life, the meatless brands didn’t taste like the real thing in the slightest. It’s just what I’m used to, what I like, and what I feel comfortable eating.

I was a tad concerned that these Beyond Meat burgers would be a bust due to my preferences and, happily, that was not the case at all. These burgers were delicious! In stark contrast to the MorningStar Grillers, the Beyond Meat burgers were thick and juicy. The hint of flavor of a real burger was subtle and I appreciated that a lot for my own sanity lol. This also allowed for the toppings and the fluffy and sweet Hawaiian roll bun to do the talking. I put mozzarella cheese on my burger as well as a healthy dollop of Taco Bell Chipotle sauce. The end result was a flavor symphony and, boy, was it filling. We were totally stuffed at the end of the meal!

If you are like me and shy away from the “taste alike” meatless options, I cannot recommend the Beyond Meat burgers enough. If you are just looking for a yummy new veggie burger to try, I also cannot recommend the Beyond Meat burgers enough!

What is your favorite meatless brand? What are your favorite toppings on a burger? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Almost All Aldi’s Dinner – 2.0 Veggie Burgers

Almost All Aldi’s Dinner – 2.0 Veggie Burgers

Hello! Last week, I learned the joys of grocery shopping at Aldi’s when Johnny and I decided that we had enough of the high prices at Giant Eagle. We went on our shopping trip after work, which resulted in a cart full of almost everything that we needed for over one hundred dollars less. My mind was blown, my wallet was happy, and I was thrilled to have gotten all of our essentials for a fraction of the price.

I have been making excellent use of our grocery haul and have been cooking dinner every other night. On Thursday, I made doctored up veggie burgers with every ingredient minus the MorningStar patties from Aldi’s. They were a hit! Check it out:

Shopping at Aldi’s was, honestly, so exciting lol. I have always really enjoyed grocery shopping and it was fun to buy so many new to me items like the everything bagel brioche buns and aioli spreads. I was also stoked to find a Southwest salad kit, which I would get at Giant Eagle all of the time until they stopped carrying it. And, can we talk about their resealable cheese packages? I’m amazed that this isn’t the standard because it’s such a simple but revolutionary idea!

Our burgers with all of the fixings turned out wonderfully and took ten minutes to make. You just can’t beat that! The brioche buns were so thick and fluffy and our taste buds went on a spin with the smoky Gouda on top. The Southwest salad was crisp and it was accentuated even more with a dollop of the chipotle aioli for good measure. My 2.0 veggie burgers with Aldi’s ingredients completely blew the ones I was making before out of the water.

Although I love to try new recipes on Pinterest, I still make a lot of standby dishes that Johnny and I will always enjoy. I’d be a liar if I said I wasn’t a bit bored with it, but simple and quick meals are often the best thing for me to make during the work week. Being able to make our usual dinners with a twist on the ingredients used has been an absolute game changer. Now, if only there were an Aldi’s and Trader Joe’s right down the street from me!

If you are feeling bored with your standard groceries, go to a different store lol. Aldi’s has turned our go to meals into something special again and what we saved is unmatched. A change of scenery for grocery shopping goes a long way!

What are some of your standby meals to make? What toppings do you like on your burgers? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
