Dunkin’ Donuts Disappointment

Dunkin’ Donuts Disappointment

Hi! This week, I received my freebie cold brew packets from Dunkin’ Donuts in the mail, and it was nothing short of disappointing. Take a look at some pics, don’t mind the Loony Toons pitcher, and let’s discuss:

dunkin1dunkin2dunkin3dunkin4

As you can see, the preparation of the cold brew coffee was easy and self explanatory. It wasn’t until I was ready to drink the coffee that everything went up in flames! In the morning, I woke up and was excited to give my cold caffeine drink a try and, unfortunately, I wasn’t able to taste one single drop.

While attempting to get the coffee bags out of the pitcher, they ripped and I had barely even touched them. It turned all of the liquid in the pitcher into a thick, coffee ground contaminated mess. Now, I probably should have just poured the drink into another pitcher so that I could add the extra water and then dispose of the bags, but I was tired and wasn’t thinking and really REALLY just wanted my coffee and ended up having none at all. So, needless to say, this freebie was an absolute and total bust. #disappointed

How do you like to drink your coffee? Who else has had some coffee ground disasters before? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Bite Beauty Lip Crayon Swatch In Glace

Bite Beauty Lip Crayon Swatch In Glace

Hi! As promised, today we are going to swatch the second gift from my Sephora birthday freebie – their lip crayon in Glace! The swatching experience for this lippie was an unfortunate one, because after I snapped my pictures, I dropped the crayon on my white carpet. :((((( It was a hot mess, but a blogger’s job is never easy, so let’s get on with the show:

glaceglace1glace2

As described in yesterday’s post, this lip crayon by Bite definitely has a minty smell to it, which certainly makes for a different sensation when wearing a lipstick! As disappointed at myself as I am for dropping this on the carpet, I think that Glace is a lovely shade. It doesn’t have as glossy of a look to it as yesterday’s swatch did, which I like a lot, because I am a matte girl at heart.

This lip crayon is especially nice, because the size of it doesn’t feel like a mini one at all, as opposed to the itty bitty lipstick from yesterday. It’s cool that a huge company like Sephora genuinely wants to pamper their costumers on their big day, because this crayon will definitely last for a good long while. But, then again, who am I to talk considering I’ve only finished one tube of lipstick in my entire life! :’D

Do you prefer matte or glossy lip colors? What is your favorite brand that Sephora carries? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Bite Beauty Lipstick Swatch In Chai

Bite Beauty Lipstick Swatch In Chai

Howdy everyone and happy Monday! I am really feeling my birthday treats from Sephora – a lipstick, lip crayon, and lip balm and scrub by Bite Beauty. I finally have gotten a chance to swatch them and am feeling it EVEN MORE! Take a looksee at Chai and then tune in tomorrow to see the swatch of the lip crayon in Glace!

Aside from my initial first impression on this lipstick being gorgeous, my second one was that it smelled awesome! This lippie had a very minty smell to it, which is great because it looks pretty and freshens your breath. How can you refuse that sales pitch?!

In my initial article about my Sephora birthday gift, I mentioned how both this shade and the color I’m swatching tomorrow will look lovely on literally anyone, and I stand by that statement wholeheartedly. Chai has such a soft, dusty rose undertone to it, which works well with any skin tone, hair, or eye color. I like that Sephora really thinks about what will be the most inclusive shades for their birthday treats and completely knocks it out of the park each time.

This is my second year in a row getting a birthday prezzie from Sephora, and I am equally, if not more, satisfied with the Bite Beauty kit this time around. Chai is a perfect date night shade and can easily transition from work to play while still looking appropriate. This color is also suitable for all four seasons because it truly sits right in the middle of too dark and too light, making it an amazing shade all year round.

What has been your favorite birthday gift from Sephora? Who is a fan of Bite Beauty products? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Sephora Beauty Insider Birthday Gift

Sephora Beauty Insider Birthday Gift

Hi!! Before I even began shopping at Sephora, and by shopping I mean just buying Better Than Sex mascara, I was sure to sign up for their Beauty Insider rewards program to cash in on free product for my birthday. This year, you could choose between a mini moisturizer and mud treatment by Glamglow or a lip kit by Bite. Of course, I chose the lipsticks to experiment with the gorgeous shades offered in the prezzie. I’ll swatch them later but, for now, check out how nice this freebie is:

Seen Below:

  • Mini Amuse Bouche Lipstick in Chai
  • Mini Matte Creme Lip Crayon in Glace
  • Agave Lip Treatment Sample Duo (A scrub and balm)

I am completely in love with both the lipstick and lip crayon by Bite. Chai and Glace are shades that would look great on anyone, and it’s always fun to try out new makeup – especially products that you wouldn’t necessarily buy for yourself. And, the scrub and balm sample duo will be great during a spa night to keep my lips pucker perfect!

Check back soon for swatches of each shade! ❤

New Pixi Eyeliner

New Pixi Eyeliner

Hello everyone and happy Monday! My mom is a big fan of Pixi cosmetics and always scores super awesome deals when shopping their products online. She always manages to get some type of freebie or percentage off of her order, making the purchasing of a more expensive makeup line totally worthwhile. During her last online haul, my mom got two mini eyeliners for free, and bequeathed the black one onto me since she wouldn’t use it. Take a look:

pixi1pixi2

I have to say, this Endless Silky Liner by Pixi offers the smoothest application that I’ve experienced from any drugstore brand. Although I use similar eyeliners to this one, you can definitely tell that they are a pencil. Not the case with this one. The liner itself feels so creamy and the color is so pure and I can kind of see why people would spend about fourteen dollars for a full sized one of these.

Would I ever venture into purchasing from the Pixi brand after I finish this eyeliner? Maybe if it was a really amazing deal. But, I’m okay with sticking to my CoverGirl eyeliner for now! 🙂

What brand of eyeliner do you use? Do you use a liquid liner or a pencil? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

My Beauty Hoard

My Beauty Hoard

Hey! When it comes to most of my material pleasures in life, I am lucky enough to have a lot of them. A beautiful collection of shoes, clothing, and accessories help to turn me into the fashionista by day so that I can delve into my pajama collection at night. And, when it comes to beauty products, a collector I am, as well.

I have always been a firm believer in buying in bulk and having the products on hand when I need more, rather than running to the store every month to reup. I am also a firm believer in the power of coupons, freebies, and treasuring gifts from friends, which also helps add to my collection seen below:

hoard

Now, that may look like a lot of stuff – but what if I told you that about fifty percent of the above products were free? Check it out:

  • The three cleansers in the front: FREE
  • Every single mini lotion or shower gel: FREE
  • The three shower gels from The Body Shop: FREE
  • Two mini body butters: FREE
  • Charcoal mask from The Body Shop: FREE

Meanwhile, the other products were all bought on the cheap. For example:

  • The seven perfumes from Bath & Body Works were purchased for about twenty dollars all together.
  • The body butters and skin care were all bought at TJMaxx prices
  • And the remaining shower gels were all bought with coupons.

So, where did all of the free swag come from? The three cleansers and some of the mini lotions are compliments of Walgreen’s freebie bags that I received when purchasing my hair dye. I always wait to restock my boxed color until I get an email saying that Walgreen’s is running their freebie bag promotion with a certain amount of money purchased so that I can score some free goodies while buying a necessity.

All of the Bath & Body Works minis are thanks to the free travel sized coupons that I get from B&BW. Right now I have over sixty dollars worth of free product from there in my hoard and I always have them handy for gift giving occasions. And, the rest of my free products were gifts that I use frugally so that I don’t have to buy more of my favorites until I absolutely have to!

The rest of my hoard was all purchased with the help of coupons or the amazingly low prices of TJMaxx. Very rarely do I purchase anything at full price anymore – and why would I?! With the power of apps, reward programs, coupons, and sale promotions, it’s simple to save and create a collection of your own.

Who else has a beauty care hoard at home? How do you score the best freebies and deals? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Bath & Body Works May Freebie

Bath & Body Works May Freebie

Hi! So Bath & Body Works finally sent me a freebie coupon after months of not receiving anything, so I was excited to run into the store and grab a travel sized lotion or shower gel. I was in a rush when I was in the store, and their new packaging definitely didn’t help, because I couldn’t tell what the idea was for any of their scents. Take a look and you’ll see what I mean:

gel

I really did like B&BW’s old packaging, because it let you know what the product would smell like without having to flip the lid. Now, you can’t tell what their scent would be like from anything and, frankly, I think the packaging looks cheap. I selected a new scent of theirs called Happy Vibes and it smelled okay. It’s a floral/citrus scent and the only reason why I selected it was because I was in a hurry. The flowers in this gel definitely overpowered any notes of citrus that you could smell, so I am not a huge fun. But, hey, it was free! 😀

How do you feel about B&BW’s new packaging? What is your favorite shower gel fragrance? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Tiny Target Haul

Tiny Target Haul

Heyyyy! This past week, Target was having a wonderful promotion where you got a five dollar gift card if you bought twenty dollars in self care products including makeup, shaving, skin, hair, and oral care. My mom and I decided to split the lot since she needed to restock on tooth paste and mouth wash and I wound up with these new skin care products:

target!

Although makeup shopping is fun, I live for skin care and trying out new products. I love the St. Ives scrubs more than life itself, and when I saw their newest Coconut & Coffee scrub, I was eager to give it a try. It smells amazing and, according to the container, it offers a deep clean which is exactly what I want when I use a facial scrub. I cannot wait to use this once I finish up the cleansing products that I’m currently using – but, I’m so excited that I might have to try it now!

I also ended up with a bottle of Garnier’s Micellar Cleansing Water, which came with a mini foaming gel cleanser for free. I am finishing up a bottle of Simple’s cleansing water at the moment and I’m not too impressed by it, but my sister loves the Garnier Micellar Water so I decided to go for it. It definitely didn’t hurt that they offered a freebie along with it, either! Regardless of not being blown away by micellar water in general, it’s a lot cheaper than eye makeup remover, so I’m a fan in that regard, for sure.

Has anyone used either of the products above that I purchased? What are your thoughts on them? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
