Country Cutie OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the Blooper Reel from my Country Cutie OOTD! This look was worn to Outlaw Fest to see Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson at Blossom Music Center. Honestly, the whole night was a blooper reel in itself and Johnny and I are still laughing about the antics we got into. I haven’t had a night that wild since the after party at our wedding lol. The bloopers didn’t begin at the concert but during the photo shoot beforehand so take a look at some yikes pics that really helped set the tone for the festivities:

As you can imagine, Johnny and I were definitely feeling the hangover blues the day after the concert. Luckily for us, we have concocted the perfect cure – AKA: A Day of Lay. Lay days are exactly what they sound like: Staying in bed, watching TV, and moving as little as possible lol. And, luckily for us, we have discovered a new “warm blanket” show (Johnny’s definition of a comfort show) to enjoy. A few weeks ago, we started watching Fresh Off The Boat and have been plowing through it at a speed of light pace. It is absolutely hilarious!

Fresh Off The Boat is based off of a book of the same name by Eddie Huang (I can’t wait to read it!). Eddie’s family is Chinese American and the book and show documents their move from Washington D.C. to Orlando, Florida to open a steakhouse in the nineties and get their own slice of the American Dream. The Huang family is comprised of proud parents, Louis and Jessica and their three boys named Eddie, Emery, and Evan. Louis’s mom, Jenny, also lives with them. She speaks no English but lives for Garfield comics and cruising in her electric wheelchair. 😀

From start to finish, every single episode has Johnny and me in stitches. The Huang brothers are all cute as can be and the littlest, Evan, is our favorite. He is just a doll! We also revel in the pure “Louis and Jessica” of our own relationship. Johnny is a Louis for sure. He is spontaneous, silly, and always has a new big idea. I am one thousand percent Jessica and I own it – strategic, thinks in black and white, never backs down from a challenge, and tears it up in a game of Scrabble. Fresh Off The Boat is the most delightful mix of funny and downright heartwarming and when we aren’t in hysterics, we are going “aww” at how sweet it is lol. It was easy to forget how hungover we were during our marathon when we were laughing the entire time!

Our daily viewings of Fresh Off The Boat are something I really look forward to and it came through in the clutch the day after the concert. We finished a full season in one day! 😀

Hello everyone and welcome to the Blooper Reel from my Pattern Pop OOTD! I have been looking forward to fall weather since summer started and, unfortunately, Ohio has been treated to sixty degree days for a majority of November. This has been a massive bummer for me because all I want to do is wear my jackets!! I was really stoked to break out my favorite snakeskin pattern trench coat in this look even if it was short lived. Then, my sentiments for cooler temps were heard and it plummeted this past week. In fact, it even snowed! All I have to say is, bring it on! And bring on these yikes shots too:

The Blooper and The Beast

When Johnny and I return home from work, we both have our routines. I will work for a bit more on the computer and while I do that, Johnny does the dishes and will play a video game or listen to a podcast until I’m done. Then, we get comfy for TV time. After completing our 31 for 31 horror movie challenge in October, we went back to our old standby of Law & Order: SVU. We watched that for a bit until, out of nowhere, Johnny made a drastic change. No, he didn’t put on Law & Order: Organized Crime. He put on Hey Arnold! lol.

I’m not going to lie, at first I was like “wtf”. I can’t say I have ever felt nostalgic for the shows of my youth, and Hey Arnold! was honestly one of my least favorites. After a few minutes, however, I was in. In an instant, the episode we were watching came back to me in full force and I couldn’t believe I still remembered quotes from it. Jokes that went over our heads when we were little had us in stitches and we have been belly laughing our way through every episode. Would I have chosen to watch Hey Arnold! instead of our regularly scheduled programming? Hell no. But I’m glad Johnny did! 😀

With all the craziness in the world, Johnny chose to put on something lighthearted and fun. I never thought I would say it, but I have been looking forward to coming home and watching cartoons every day!

What I Did During COVID (Nothing Lol)

Hello!!! As I write this, Johnny and I are finally on an upswing from our COVID experience. Thank gawd because, let me tell you, it was really horrible for a while. We were both feeling like absolute garbage and when one feels like garbage, there’s not much you can do but sit there lol. I will say, if we weren’t in the throws of the virus, it actually would have been quite pleasant to veg out and watch all of the TV. Johnny chose to stay downstairs with the bunnies watching WWII movies and I claimed the upstairs as my own to watch all of my guilty pleasures. This included:

The Saw Franchise:

My first order of business once we were bit by the COVID bug was to rewatch the Saw franchise in its entirety. I am a HUGE fan of those movies and I am excited to see the newest one in theaters once Johnny and I are feeling better. Yes, they’re violent. Yes, they’re freaking gross. And, yes, they aren’t for everyone, but to each their own. I watched all of the Saw movies in a whopping two days and even though I was feeling completely miserable, I kept thinking to myself “at least I’m not that person” for everyone playing a “game”. It actually kind of helped a little lol.

Sister Wives:

After my Saw bingeathon, it was time for my next guilty pleasure and that is literally every single show on TLC. Haha, I just can’t help myself – I love crappy television. I have been an on again off again Sister Wives viewer for years and I must say, this newest season has been explosive! Can we all please talk about what an asshole Kody is or?! He is the freaking WORST and I am so happy to see Christine and Janelle finally come out from under his stupid thumb. My only hope is that Meri follows suit soon so Kody can be left alone with Robyn, which is what I think he truly wanted all along. SHAMEFUL!!!

My Strange Addiction – Still Addicted?:

Speaking of crappy television… After I got caught up on Sister Wives, I finally was able to watch the follow up series to My Strange Addiction to see where the people on the show are at ten years later. It was just as weird as the original episodes and it was SO cringe worthy. There were people addicted to eating toilet paper, couch foam, cat hair – you name it. I was, however, very sad to learn that Nathanial’s beloved Chase, the car who he shared an intimate relationship with kicked the bucket. RIP to a real one.

The Office:

And, finally, when all else fails – there is always The Office. Like millions of people, I find The Office to be one of my favorite comfort shows. Johnny and I have seen every episode more times than we can count, but they are never not funny. This was a great show to put on when we were really sick because we could close our eyes and rest and still know exactly what was going on. There is no think work to The Office and it is what we both refer to as our “warm blanket” show. Whether we have COVID or not, it is always on our lineup at chez nous!

One can only watch so much TV, sick or not, until their brain turns to mush and I am very happy to be feeling well enough to pass some time reading. Keep it locked for a new edition of Lil Red’s Book Club soon as we discuss a thriller called We Love To Entertain!

Hello everyone and welcome to the blooper reel from my Summer Elder Emo OOTD! I don’t know about all of you, but I am SO ready for summer! What is it about this time of year that just makes you want to quit your job and lounge by the pool for three months straight? Lol, the weather for the past month in Ohio has been absolute crap and it has finally warmed up this week, making me so ready for some fun in the sun. And fun from OOTD bloopers, of course! For our post blooper commentary, let’s chat a bit about comfort shows. We all have those few series that we know by heart, but they still hit just as hard every time you put it on! Mine and Johnny’s are Seinfeld, The Office, Parks & Rec, and Superstore. However, our lineup has changed up because we have become die hard fans of The Kroll Show. We started watching this three season series in mid April and are already on our third viewing of it. Every time the show ends, we simply start it over again!

With everything going on in Lil Red’s world, I need a laugh as often as I can and The Kroll Show delivers every time. It is a sketch show created by Nick Kroll and features all of his pals including John Mulaney, Jenny Slate, Jon Daly, and Andy Milonakis just to name a few. Every character in the sketches are absolutely ridiculous, the music is hilarious, and we can’t stop watching it to save our own lives. Johnny and I are obsessed with Dr. Armond, Pawnslyvania, and you can’t forget Publizity. In barely a month, it has become our most quoted show and whenever we come home, we tell each other which earworm was stuck in our heads for the day. In my case, it is almost always the love song Dr Armond’s wife made for him. Total bop. 😀

Laughter can truly be the best medicine of all, which is why the blooper reels have become a staple here on lifewithlilred. It also might be why we have watched the exact same show three times in a row too! Johnny and I have fallen away from our normal horror and true crime amidst our current hardship and our comfort shows have taken over. If you are having a bad day, put on your go to show and enjoy – it will do you a world of good!
