What Is The Weather? OOTD Bloopers

Hello everyone and welcome to the Blooper Reel from my What Is The Weather? OOTD! Today we are going to take a look at the yikes shots that definitely didn’t make the first, second, or third cut from a fun little weekend fit. You also get a chance to see the true excellence of Johnny’s photography work. He always delivers!! Let’s check it out and have a laugh:

One of my favorite summer memories is easily going to see Weird Al in concert for the third time. He played an absolutely wonderful show at Blossom Music Center and I was so lucky to have gone with Johnny and my big bro. We had the best time! And can we please talk about what a national treasure Weird Al is? For decades he has been making us laugh, sing, and channel our inner weirdness and he really is a gift to the world. As long as he continues to tour in the greater Akron area, I will be there with my crew in tow. What can I say, I’m a Weird Al groupie!

In honor of one of mine and Johnny’s all time favorites, we decided to have a weird and lazy Sunday this past week. We watched UHF, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, and clips from Al TV. It was a hoot! We hadn’t seen Weird before and were looking forward to it. It was funny but didn’t do much for me. However, UHF will always do the most and we were in stitches from start to finish. I have countless favorite parts but what I loved the most was pausing the movie when they showed the TV channel’s schedule. There were so many silly names for fake TV shows including: That’s Disgusting!, The Flying Pope, and the piece de resistance… The Young and Dyslexic. You just know how much FUN was had on that movie set and I would have given anything to have been a fly on the wall. Or to simply be in Weird Al’s brain for a minute to see what that beautiful, beautiful man is thinking about!

Always be weird, always laugh, and always be you. Take it from someone who knows best… Me and Weird Al lolol!

What is your favorite Weird Al song? What is something that made you laugh recently? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

Let’s Get Weird OOTD

Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new OOTD here on lifewithlilred! This past weekend I was lucky enough to have seen Weird Al for the third time in concert and it was absolutely fabulous. The show was held as Blossom Music Center which is an outdoor venue and we had lovely warm weather for the show. So warm, in fact, that it felt like summertime so I needed the clothes to match as well as pay an extra special shout out to Weird Al himself. Like my dad, that man loves him an Hawaiian shirt! Huge props to my dad for letting me raid his closet for the perfect Hawaiian shirt to wear to the show, which he actually wore to my wedding lol! Check it out:

The shirt is my dad’s and I have no idea where he acquired it from!

Shorts: American Eagle Outfitters

Wedges: Charles By Charles David, TJMaxx

You can’t see the earrings but they were purchased forever ago from Target!

As I was saying, my dad lives for a good Hawaiian shirt and has an impressive collection. When I asked him if I could go shopping in his wardrobe, he was so flattered and I was excited to pick out one to wear to the show. He had several strong contenders, but the shirt he wore to my wedding has always been my favorite. I love the sentiment, bright colors, and pattern and it was like it was made to be worn to compliment my hair! Of course, I had to make some alterations to the shirt so I buttoned the second to the top button and tied the excess to turn it into a cute crop top. It worked out really well, if I do say so myself!

Pairing my borrowed top with shorts was an obvious choice so let’s move onto shoes and accessories. For shoes, I selected a wonderful pair of summer wedges by Charles By Charles David. My dad is named Charles so it was SO. Much. Charles. in this look! These wedges are old AF but they are just right with summer outfits and pretty much go with anything. Sadly, this is the last outfit that I will be wearing them with because they actually broke when we were walking back to my car after the show. This is the second time I have had a pair of shoes break at Blossom but at least these ones broke afterwards as opposed to before like the first time SMH. I didn’t want to be weighed down with accessories for the show so I put on a dangly pair of chain earrings and was ready to get weird! 😀

Wearing my dad’s Hawaiian shirt to the Weird Al concert made the show that much more fun. With a few simple alterations, you can make anything work in a pinch!

What kind of style do your parents have? Have any of your shoes ever broke while you were on the go? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

“Weird Al”: Bigger & Weirder Concert

Hello! “Weird Al” Yankovic is a beloved favorite to me, Johnny, and my big brother Andrew and has been since childhood. Whenever he comes to the greater Akron area, it is an absolute must for us to see him and we were lucky enough to be at his Bigger & Weirder tour at Blossom Music Center this past Saturday. This is the third time I have seen “Weird Al” live and this was my favorite show, hands down. His opening act, Puddles Pity Party, was hilarious and Al’s set was a celebration of all of the fun and laughter he has gifted to the world for so many years. I’m still on cloud nine from it! Let’s discuss further:

Our night at Blossom began with the traditional long journey from the parking lot to the venue. Once we arrived, we had time to snag some shirts and make our way to a good spot. At Blossom you can either be in the pavilion or posted up on the lawn. I always like to go to the barricades that separate the two areas for the best view and we got ourselves a spot there smack dab in the middle. It was perfect! By the time we were settled, it was about seven fifteen and Puddles Pity Party promptly took the stage at seven thirty. We had no idea who or what this act was going to be but were hooked as soon as he made his entrance.

Puddles Pity Party is a one man show where he is dressed as a clown and sings the most gorgeous operatic music you will ever hear. It is such a strange juxtaposition but it works so very well. His performance also included excellent media including a “Cry Cam” and a moving montage of Kevin Costner as Puddles belted My Heart Will Go On. His set featured renditions of Come Cry With Me, Crazy Train, and Estoy Sentado Aqui. Our favorite had to have been Let’s Give ‘Em Pumpkin To Talk About because funnily enough, I just purchased wall art with the exact same sentiments! He was such a fabulous opener for “Weird Al” and when we got home, Johnny and I watched Puddles Pity Party perform on America’s Got Talent. It was so crazy to watch that when we literally had just laughed and cried with him!

After Puddles Pity Party got us all warmed up, we were ready for the big show and “Weird Al” didn’t disappoint. In fact, he played SO. Many. of our personal favorite songs that it felt like he made the set list exclusively for us. He opened with Tacky which was really cool because that’s what he started the show with the first time we saw him live. From there, he continued to deliver heavy hitters like Fat, Eat It, Dare to Be Stupid, eBay, Everything You Know Is Wrong, Like a Surgeon, Word Crimes, and so much more. His performance was high energy and everyone in the crowd was laughing, dancing, and singing our hearts out. It was the most amazing night and we still can’t quite believe we got to be there and hear a set that felt like we planned it. ❤

If “Weird Al” ever comes to your area, seeing him live is a complete must. I can’t wait for him to return to Akron so I can experience the magic for the fourth time!

What is your favorite “Weird Al” song? What was the last concert you went to? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

“Weird Al” Yankovic Concert

“Weird Al” Yankovic Concert

Hello!! This past Wednesday, my dad, brother, Johnny, and I went to see “Weird Al” Yankovic in concert at the Goodyear Theater in Akron. My brother and I haven’t seen “Weird Al” since 2012 during his Mandatory Fun tour and we had an absolute blast! Although we all stayed up way too late on a school night, we would do it again in a heartbeat for two and a half hours of nonstop laughs. Let’s get to it:

As you can see by the pictures, we didn’t have the best seats for The Unfortunate Return Of The Ridiculously Self-Indulgent Ill-Advised Vanity Tour. We were in the very last row of the balcony! However, this was actually fine by us because it was like having our own little private section and no one was breathing all over us lol. Despite the crappy pictures, we could still see everything perfectly… Except for when the stage lights were blinding us!

The show began with a set by comedian, Emo Phillips, and it was a riot. Him and “Weird Al” have been touring together for years now and he is also one of Johnny’s favorites so it was cool to see him live. He was SO damn funny and one of his jokes was one of the best parts of the night. Emo mentioned there were probably some liberals here and people cheered. Then, he said there were probably some conservatives here and some guy yelled “YEAH”. To which Emo replied with “Oh, okay. Don’t worry – I won’t talk about politics, religion, or science”. I think this guy was looking for some type of confirmation but he got completely MERKED and that’s always nice to see! 😀

After a rousing set by Emo, it was time for Yankovic to take the stage. The very long name of his tour meant that he was going to be performing some of his lesser known hits, which were primarily non-parody songs. He also told us stories about how each song came to be before playing them so it was neat to hear him just talking to us.

The opening number of the set was “CNR” and songs like “Lame Claim To Fame”, “Close But No Cigar”, “I’ll Sue Ya”, “Dog Eat Dog”, “First World Problems”, and “Skipper Dan” were all included. A moving coffee shop rendition of “Dare To Be Stupid” was also performed. We saw him play that during the Mandatory Fun tour and it was even funnier the second time around. That was definitely one of our favorite songs of the show!

To wrap things up before a lengthy encore, “Weird Al” told us about how his biopic “Weird: The Al Yankovic Story” will be released in November. He said he didn’t know how to feel about it, though, because there’s already a song that tells his life story… ALBUQUERQUE!!!!! So, obviously, everyone lost their shit and he added all kinds of silly bits to it that included starting the song over from the beginning. It was the absolute best.

An amazing time was had by all at the concert and we must do our due diligence to protect “Weird Al” Yankovic at all costs. The man is a national treasure!! ❤

What is your favorite “Weird Al” song? Who else is excited for his biopic? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
