Helloooo everyone and welcome to the newest edition of Man Crush Monday – Spencer Krug style! My #MCM is one of my most beloved musician crushes. As the front man for some of my favorite bands such as Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, and Swan Lake as well as being in association with Frog Eyes, it only seemed appropriate to finally show some love to this multi talented artist. Dear Spencer Krug,

Oh Spencer, sweet sweet Spencer. I’ll never forget the first time my older brother introduced me to your music by playing Wolf Parade’s “I’ll Believe In Anything”. I was so blown away by your unique voice and your incredible ability to invoke emotion in all of your songs. The way that you can go from soft crooning to rocker howls at the drop of a hat keeps me on my toes and makes me feel firey passion deep in my loins. I would give anything to see one of your many bands in concert and I’ll forever be jealous of my brother for seeing Wolf Parade perform when they opened for Arcade Fire during their “Us Kids Know” tour. Your unmistakable voice and thought provoking lyrics are well matched to your staggering good looks. Hubba hubba, sir. If there’s one thing mama loves, it’s a good looking man who has musical talent – which basically sums you up in a nut shell. Whether your hair is long or short and no matter what band you’re currently repping, you are a stud and a half. The day that I can see you perform live is the day I can die happy. I LOVE YOU!!!!!!

Man Crush Monday: Craig Nicholls Edition

Heyyy everyone and welcome to the newest edition of Man Crush Monday – Craig Nicholls style! The front man of one of my favorite bands, The Vines, has been one of my celebrity crushes since I was ten years old. His eccentric antics and quirky looks stole my heart and I don’t think I’ll be getting it back anytime soon! Take a listen to one of my favorite songs by The Vines and then let’s discuss:

Dear Craig Nicholls,

Oh, Craig. Sweet and a tiny bit over the top Craig. “Ride”, the track I chose to honor you with will always be one of my go to jams. My brother introduced the song to me along with the super cool music video and I was hooked ever since. I have all of the albums by The Vines safely stored on my iPod and I play them frequently to get me hyped for school, auditions, or just running around doing errands. What instantly made me attracted to you was your wild personality. Usually I’m more of a fan of the sensitive, brooding types of guys but there was something special about you. Your blatant “who gives a fuck” lifestyle wasn’t something that you put on for publicity – it was who you are and I really liked that. It was and still is refreshing to see someone in the public eye who refuses to change despite the posh and pristine Hollywood image that’s constantly shoved down everyone’s throats. There are so many things that I love about The Vines but I think my favorite thing about them is your voice! Your slightly stoned and surfer boy vocals are seriously perfect and I can’t get enough! Not only are you amazingly talented but you’re also amazingly handsome! Hubba hubba to you, sir. Your disheveled hair, extreme facial expressions, and pursed mouth that’s constantly dragging on a cigarette rev my engine. You are truly one of my dream men and I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!

My #MCM this week is one that I’m quite shocked I haven’t wrote about sooner because I’ve had a crush on him since I was nine years old! Davey Havok will always hold a special place in my heart as one of my first love interests so it only seems appropriate to finally feature him! Oh, Davey. Davey, Davey, Davey. My older brother introduced me to the song I chose to honor you with when I was nine years old. After that fateful introduction, I became a hardcore AFI fan. In fact, AFI’s album, “Sing The Sorrow”, was the first CD I ever purchased. I still have it to this day, twelve years later, and I still love it just the same. Your music has gotten me through some of the darkest times of my life and for that I thank you. Your music has also helped me see the joy that can come out of dark situations and for that I also thank you. To put it lightly Davey, I am insanely infatuated with you. Your voice, your perfect face, your gorgeous hair! Hubba hubba, sir. But seriously, you have the most incredible voice no matter what you do with it – somber crooning, screaming, or that slightly high pitched singing that you do so well…It’s all nothing short of amazing. And can we please talk about your hair?! Please?! Black, blue, long, short, or angular which was stunning with your striking features – I love it all equally. Alright K-Bakes, I’m not gonna lie – I’m not too familiar with a lot of your work. SUE ME FOR IT, because I was a faithful follower to The Following from the beginning. That show was and still is one of my healthy obsessions and saying that I’m devastated that it’s over is a big fat understatement. Your performance as Ryan Hardy in The Following gave me a new found appreciation for the good guy and the show in general also made me develop a crush on serial killer, Joe Carroll…But that’s neither here nor there. You’ve been in the Hollywood game a while now, Kevs, and I must say, you’ve aged amazingly well – one might almost call it godlike. I am so shamelessly, hopelessly, and helplessly infatuated with you that maybe I should dig into the library archives and borrow Footloose. Until that day comes, allow me to say that you are SO handsome. I mean, really handsome. Hubba hubba to you, sir. Your chiseled features and sultry voice sure know how to make a bitch swoon. Oh Jason…Jason, Jason, Jason. Usually I like to start these little love letters with an ode to your talent BUT your good looks need to be mentioned ASAP, so let’s get to it. You are SO handsome it’s unreal. You’re handsome in the normal guy with something special way and I just adore it. Hubba hubba, sir. Alright, now that I’ve got that off my chest, we can go on to talk about some of my personal favorite career choices you’ve made. Arrested Development? Hello! I’ll admit, I only recently got into watching this show with my mom/partner in crime – but hey, better late than never. Your trademark Michael Bluth attitude of somewhat bored and indifferent is nothing short of perfect and I love that the nonchalant guy is your signature acting style because you do it so well. I’m a huge fan of your spelling bee gone wrong film, Bad Words. Even with your luscious locks buzzed in that movie, you still manage to look wonderful, which is a difficult thing to do. And of course, this post wouldn’t be complete without talking about everyone’s favorite, Horrible Bosses. I. Love. That. Movie. Oh Mr. Rickman, you handsome, brooding, baritoned man you! I am so weirdly and shamelessly attracted to you and I apologize to no one. After a Harry Potter kick with my boyfriend where we watched every single movie within a week, my passion for you was rekindled and the fire in my loins burns deep. (AYYY!) Your performance as Professor Severus Snape in the Harry Potter films was truly one for the ages. You fit the description of Professor Snape in the books so perfectly and you added on to the character with touches that were uniquely your own. No one could have played the part any better. Your acting throughout the Harry Potter films made me laugh and cry hysterically. Every time I watch the scene of your death in the final HP film, I cry like a baby – lord have mercy on a gal. And please don’t even get me started on your performance in Sweeney Todd because I could babble about your baritone for days. So instead of blathering about your sexy deep singing voice, I’ll just blather about your sexy good looks! Hubba hubba, sir. Like a fine wine, you get better with age and I’m so excited to see what your career has in store for you next. I LOVE YOU!!!!!

Man Crush Monday: Sandman Edition

Man Crush Monday: Sandman Edition

Helloooo everyone and welcome to another edition of Man Crush Monday – Sandman style! This weeks #MCM is a bit different because my man crush isn’t an actual human being but I still love him/lust after him just the same! Enjoy this ironic choice of music and then let’s get to it!

Dear Sandman,

First things first, even though you’re a graphic novel character, I am so weirdly and madly in love with you. Second of all, I’d rather call you by one of your other names, so Morpheus it is! This past year I’ve been on the biggest Neil Gaiman kick ever, so it was only a matter of time before I discovered the Sandman series. Within mere pages of the very first issue, I was totally obsessed. After one single month, I had completed the entire series from beginning to end and all I wanted was more, so I started to read them again! I think what I like so much about these graphic novels is the whole idea that bad people get punished and the good ones get rewarded in some way shape or form. That’s what attracted me so much to Morpheus initially, because he could empathize with the victims and he felt the need to protect them from any further damage. There’s something about reading the chronicles of his world in The Dreaming that makes me feel safe and that’s so important to me. Yes, beautiful Morpheus did have some not so great moments with past lovers, family, and friends but deep down in my heart I still feel like he always means well. Not only is Morpheus a somewhat benevolent lord but he’s also my emo kid fantasy come true. I mean seriously, he’s so gorgeous I can’t even. Hubba hubba. I’ve heard rumors of a possible Sandman film and frankly, I hope that it doesn’t happen. All I need are the words and pictures on paper to take me to a different world and no matter how amazing the film is, it just won’t be the same. Thank you to Morpheus for making me feel understood, thank you for making me feel like I’m not so alone, and thank you for always providing me with sweet dreams. I LOVE YOU!!!!

Dear Daniel Radcliffe,

Oh Daniel Radcliffe, you handsome, gorgeous, hunka hunk of burning love: words can’t describe how much I adore you. It has been such a delight watching you grow up from the timid first year student at Hogwarts in Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone to the fine as hell man you are today. From childhood, adolescence, and all the way up to being a young adult, Harry Potter has been a huge part of my life. Harry Potter was and still is my number one favorite source of entertainment – the books, the movies, the hours of discussions about said books and movies with family and friends, it’s always there and it never gets old. You brought Harry Potter to life in a way that was so perfect and convincing that I had to constantly remind myself that Hogwarts wasn’t a real place when I was younger. But who says? Maybe in some parallel universe wizardry and witchcraft is the norm and if that indeed is the case, then I definitely want you by my side more than ever! Thank you for bringing the beautiful boy with the jet black scruffy hair and scarred forehead to the big screen and thank you even more for helping me to believe in magic. I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Helloooo everyone and happy Monday!! Welcome to another edition of Man Crush Monday – Lil Wayne style! Pleeease judge me for it! I’ve had a crush on Weezy since I was fourteen years old so it only seems appropriate to give him some #MCM love! Let’s discuss:

Dear Lil Wayne,

First of all, do you mind if I call you Wayne? Ehh…We’ll just stick with Lil Wayne. ANYWAYS, I think you are so insanely handsome, much to the disagreement of a lot of my friends! But I can’t help it – your tattoos, dreads, and lip piercings really rev my engine. Hubba hubba. Now that we’ve talked about your staggering good looks, it’s time for a story featuring a teenage Lil Red: Once upon a time when I was fourteen years old, you were performing at Blossom Music Center and one of my girlfriends and I got tickets to see the show. That was when Drake had a hernia and had to cancel being your opening act, but I digress. So yes, my friend and I had tickets to your show and we were SO excited! And then a travesty occurred. My evil sister informed my mom of the vulgarity of your lyrics and I was condemned to a night stuck at home rather than at your concert. Luckily, I was a crafty bitch. Around the time of the concert I was involved in a theatre performance and I told my mom that I had a rehearsal with a cast party after the night of your show. My mom said that this was fine and my friend and I were thrilled because little to my parents’ knowledge, we were going to your concert! Unfortunately, I got too turnt at Blossom and I don’t remember much of the show other than making out with two different guys – but that’s neither here nor there. Despite the lack of memories of my night on the town, I do know that I had a blast and I was pretty hyped that my parents had no idea. I kept my teenage betrayal against my parents’ wishes a secret until I turned eighteen and then I told my mom. At that point, all she could do was laugh at my sneakiness and ability to keep my lips sealed about that night for four years straight. I lied to my parents to see you live and if I had to, I would do it all over again…Except I wouldn’t get so drunk. I LOVE YOU!!!!

Dear David Bowie,

Alright, let’s state the obvious – you’re gorgeous. I mean seriously, DAYUM. Everything about you just screams pure European glamour and I can’t get enough. I love looking at pictures of you and witnessing your fearlessness and how confident you are in yourself through your clothing, hair, and makeup. You sir, are stunning. So not only are you everything that my heart desires as far as appearance goes but you are also SO extraordinarily talented. “Suffragette City” was the first song by you that my older brother introduced me to and from that moment on, I was hooked. I must have been nine or ten when I first heard you and it was like nothing I had heard before. Your music has such a fabulous femininity about it but it’s still so distinctively rock n’ roll and I think that’s what really made me gravitate towards it. When I hear your songs I get filled with this confidence that I never knew I had before…it makes me want to grow out a rocker mullet and take on the world! I come from a family of fans of yours so my love for you has done nothing but blossom over the years. This post about you, my sweet David Bowie, would not be complete if I didn’t bring up the movie Labyrinth…So here we go: Your performance in this muppet filled masterpiece was groundbreaking, to say the least. I have no shame in admitting that Labyrinth is one of my all time favorites and that your junk looked AWESOME in those tight pants! Hubba hubba. David Bowie, you are a true gift to the world and I thank you for gracing all of us with your presence. I LOVE YOU!!!
