Hello! Us Mid-Westerners are of a different breed when it comes to the cold weather. In Ohio, you can see so many people rocking baggy shorts or just a hoodie for a winter coat even on the briskest of days. As Elsa says, the cold doesn’t bother us, anyways. Which is why I just had to laugh on Sunday when Johnny wanted to get Dairy Queen and, since I was coming off of my period, ice cream sounded very good to me. Mind you, it was in the twenties and snowing all day!
Enjoying a Dairy Queen Blizzard in the middle of winter is definitely one you can scratch off of your Mid West Bingo card if you have it and don’t forget to mark the Free Space of “saying ‘ope'”. But, hey, the ice cream was so damn good I would do it all over again in a heartbeat on an even colder day. Lol, check it out:
While ordering, I was struggling to choose between the Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough and Butterfinger Blizzard. Johnny suggested that I get both and just get a smaller size of one or the other and let’s just say that he didn’t have to tell me twice. This is, honestly, something that I never do. I really don’t have a sweet tooth – that’s one hundred and fifty percent Johnny and I barely so much as glance at all of the candies and treats at our place. However, the past week had been so busy and doubly draining because of Aunt Flo and your girl just needed some ice cream, lol.
The Snickerdoodle Blizzard was absolutely divine and it tasted exactly like Cinnabon in ice cream form. I have only had Cinnabon once in my life when I worked retail six or so years ago and had to help out in a mall that had one in the food court. I got an iced coffee from there and still think back on that cinnamon/vanilla taste fondly. This Blizzard took me all the way back to my days as a mall employee, getting that coffee on my break, and thinking it was the best thing I had ever tasted. My only regret about the Blizzard? That I didn’t order a bigger size of it!
What is a warm weather activity that you enjoy even in the cold? What is your favorite ice cream flavor? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
