Hiii everyone and happy weekend! Ugh, I don’t know about any of you guys, but I have been feeling so blah lately. I am in the process of getting over a flu/cold thingie that lingered on with me for a week and am now just trying to get myself back up to snuff. I had hot and cold flashes, a sore throat, a cold from hell, body aches, and – to top it off – I was on my period for part of it! Could it get any worse?!
During this agonizing week, I had a really hard time keeping up with my 10,000 steps per day walking regimen because I was so weak. And, now, after a week of feeling sluggish with some movement here and there when I was up to it, I am left feeling so blah about everything. The way my body looks, how I’m still feeling the effects of the sniffles from this blasted cold, and my severe lack of energy. Could it get any worse?!
I know that these feelings will pass, and I have been trying really hard to get myself back on track with my walking. But, I am having a hard time shaking away the post sickness blues, even with the lovely weather that Ohio is finally having. It’s been a lot of going through the motions for the past week, and feeling self conscious the entire time, so I am definitely looking forward to feeling back to normal soon so that I can start enjoying my days again.
Has anyone else been dealing with the blahs lately? How do you combat the post sickness blues? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah
Sounds as though your body is trying to tell you something – have a couple of real rest days – 10,000 steps a day is amazing but you really need to have a complete break from exercise at least once a week (better twice) to give your muscles a chance to repair. Really admire your tenacity though ;O) hope you feel better soon x

I’m exactly the same – I find rest days harder than the workout days sometimes ;O) Yep Lifetime movies will do that for you :O) xx

I haven’t had these feelings lately but I’ve experienced them. Post sickness blues can be hard to deal with especially when you’re bedridden and can’t meet your friends at college☹️

I have been feeling blah also. I think it is something in the air. I have felt very unmotivated this week.

YESSSSS. The blahs recently took over my life. I noticed that when I’m feeling blah, it’s either because I strayed from my regular diet and/or skipped the gym. I’m no gym rat, or some physically fit doofus (well, a doofus I am), but the gym really does help keep me balanced in a weird way. If I stray from my diet (I’m hypoglycemic), that usually makes me blah. Having more sugar than I normally allow in my diet sets me in a bit of a depressive state. I’ve certainly been in a funk, but am slowly crawling out of it.
I hope you are getting over your blahs and feeling better. It’ll definitely pass. ❤ 🙂

I just went through such a blah period myself. One thing that helped me was making a to do list & physically checking things off. I know it sounds clichè but seeing things get crossed off the list motivated me to do more ! I hope this helps! I also have a post that address this issue: https://bricruzblog.wordpress.com/2018/04/25/crystal-clear/
Check it out!
