Hello!! I have been in dire need of my beloved Better Than Sex mascara by Too Faced for several months now. However, I refused to buy it until recently so that I could cash in my Sephora birthday gift. You all know I live for my freebies! Normally, I shop Sephora online because they run some great promotions like a freebie after spending X amount of money. This time around, though, I went in store because I needed some new lipstick too. Unfortunately, my go to lippie is no longer made so I spent some time browsing the store and swatching different shades as I went. We’ll check out a swatch from my new Too Faced lipstick tomorrow. But, for now, take a look at my birthday haul:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it time and time again: The Better Than Sex mascara is, hands down, the best I have ever used. During my time without my favorite mascara, I tried out a few different brands and nothing even came close in comparison. Needless to say, I am very happy to have a new tube and back up one again! I missed my big, bold, look at me lashes so much and consider each twenty-six dollar tube to be worth every penny. I especially find this to be true now after using cheaper brands that did nothing for me. And, hey, sometimes you have to splurge for the good stuff!

During my Sephora shopping trip, I started at the Too Faced department and ended there too during my lipstick search. Although I am not a big makeup girl, I figured it would be pretty easy to find a lippie in a similar shade to the one I used up. WRONG. There were SO. Many. Options. to choose from and it was overwhelming lol. It felt like I totally forgot the color I was even looking for and everything I swatched wasn’t quite right. I was about to give up when I realized I didn’t pay too much attention to the Too Faced Lip Injection collection. This was much more like it and I cannot wait for all of you to see Filler Up. It’s sooo pretty. 🙂

The last order of business was checking out and selecting my free birthday gift. There are several options online for what you can pick out for your prezzie – skin care, hair care, fragrance, or makeup. In the store I went to, however, the choices were limited. But, as luck would have it, the Youth To The People skin care set that I wanted was up for grabs. It’s no secret that I am skin care obsessed so it is always fun to test out higher end products. I am particularly excited about the Air-Whip moisturizer, which promises to be nice and light and perfect for the summertime!

After this trip to Sephora, I came to the conclusion that I don’t know anything about makeup lol. I was definitely jonesing to go to TJMaxx afterwards to get reacquainted with simpler things like shoes and clothes! Either way, I’m happy to have gotten what I needed and next time I need new makeup, I am bringing my sister along for help. 😀

Hello!! I met my dear friend, Sujata, seven years ago thanks to lifewithlilred. She was the first person who I ever wrote a guest article for and it featured one of her drop dead gorgeous wedding dresses. We have kept in touch through social media ever since and I always enjoy catching up with her and keeping tabs on her fashion and skin care line. Sujata recently launched her brand’s website and I was lucky enough to be sent some of her skin care products. Check out my unboxing and keep it posted for reviews coming soon:

Receiving my package in the mail from Sujata was like Christmas day all over again and I couldn’t wait to tear it open! My first impression during my unboxing was an important one: The packaging itself. Skin care can be tricky to ship and it is not uncommon for bottles and jars to leak or crack. The products that I received were handled with so much care and wrapped tightly in tissue paper. The box was also filled with extra tissue and crinkle paper for additional padding. I could tell that Sujata wants everything she ships to her customers to be in absolutely perfect condition and it was very appreciated.

In my goodie box, I was so excited to find a body bar and face serum. The body bar came in an adorable individual box, which was a really nice touch! I am eager to try the bar out because I have never seen or used a product like it before. It is essentially cocoa butter with a shopping list of essential oils that you rub into your skin. This seems like the perfect solution to eliminate dry winter skin and it smells lovely. I love the notes of citrus and rose and I like it even more because it isn’t overpowering. Sujata expertly handled the delicate dance of combining fragrances and I was so impressed by how light it smells because products like that have the potential to go either way.

The Valinora face serum was also included in my gift and I can’t wait to use it. So much so that I am willing to put aside the half finished bottle of serum that I’m currently working on, which I never do! This serum targets fine lines and wrinkles and will also help to even out your skin tone. I will admit that when I first took a whiff of the serum, I thought that it was fairly pungent. Then, I kept smelling it and realized how awesome it is! Like the body bar, the ingredients consist primarily of essential oils. I could really pick out the hemp oil and frankincense but I think that this product will smell different to everyone, which is cool! I can already tell how nourishing the Valinora serum is going to be and I am so proud of my friend for creating this magic in a bottle.

Hello!! I had a great little mostly freebie haul from Sephora, which also included my birthday gift for being a Beauty Insider member. As a Beauty Insider, you get to pick one from three or four different gift options during your birth month and I look forward to it every year. The choices range from a set for skin care, hair care, makeup, or fragrance and I always opt for the makeup because I rarely try out new products in that regard.

For the makeup gift, I received a sample pack from Ilia that had a tinted lip oil, mascara, and a lip mask:

I am a tried and true user of Too Faced’s Better Than Sex mascara so the travel sized one in this birthday gift will be going to my sister. What really sold me on the Ilia set was the lip mask and tinted lip oil. I love me a lip mask and am constantly on the hunt for a good one because the last several that I have tried have been duds. The tinted lip oil in Only You was also just too pretty to pass up!

I have so many lip colors from Sephora birthday gifts and they never disappoint. Only You by Ilia, however, might be my favorite one yet. It is the most lovely carnation pink hue and I love the texture. While it looks like a gloss, it feels like a balm and I think that everyone can get down with that… No one likes a sticky lip gloss! It makes my lips feel smooth, look supple, and provides the perfect touch of color. I know for a fact that I will be wearing it all summer long. 😀

Today, we are going to be discussing my gorgeous new Aurora Nebulizing Diffuser by Organic Aromas. I have had it on nonstop in my apartment since I received it in the mail. My Aurora Nebulizing Diffuser kit from Organic Aromas came with everything that I needed for soothing scents to envelope my apartment all of the time. Not only did it include all of the items that I need for cleaning it but it also came with two essential oils to get me started. I am currently using the Signature Blend essential oil, which is a lovely mixture of Elemi, Clary Sage, Cajeput, Chamomile, and Bergamot – it is divine and perfect to use when chilling at home. I also received the Peppermint oil, which will be great to help wake me up in the morning!

The amazing thing about this product is that it is pure scent particles coming out of the diffuser – not water. This provides the ultimate experience for all of your aromatherapy needs because the oils are not being diluted, giving you the full benefits of whichever essential oil you choose. Hi! As we all know, Lil Red is a nail girl. I would be nowhere without my talon style acrylics and am only in my truest form when they are eye poking sharp! Getting my nails done is such a treat and I look forward to my monthly visit to the salon to get myself right. There is nothing better than taking an hour or two to yourself to get pampered and I always leave my stomping grounds of Elysian Nails feeling like a million bucks.
