OOTD – College Kid Edition

Hey! So first of all, sorry for being MIA recently – I’ve had a hell of a past few days…and not in the good way. Having said that, yesterday I did what I told myself that I would never EVER do…I wore sweat pants to college. But WAIT! Let me explain myself!! I have up to get ready for school at 6:45 in the morning every Tuesday and Thursday. Yesterday morning it was chilly and overcast and all I wanted was to be as comfortable as humanly possible during my hour long drive to Cleveland and in my classes. So while I was getting ready and picking out an outfit, my eyes scanned from cute maxi skirts, dresses I could pair with tights, super skinny skinny jeans, and my new pair of sweat pants from Aerie. I reevaluated all of my options carefully and then rolled my eyes and said “f*** it” and grabbed the sweats. I always thought that during my college career I would be that super fashionable girl who wouldn’t be caught dead in lounge wear. Well since that thought went down the drain, I still tried to make my comfy cozy look as cute as possible. My mom even told me that I looked really cute, so I think I succeeded! 😉 Here’s my “college kid” OOTD:

As usual, here’s the break down of the brands and where I purchased everything in my OOTD:

  • Cargo jacket: PacSun, LA Hearts
  • Embellished t-shirt: Express
  • Sweat pants: Aerie
  • Oxblood boots: TJMaxx, Airway

The thing that I liked the most about this outfit was the color coordinating that I pulled off. The sleeves on my jacket matched the color of my sweats perfectly. AND the detailing on the elbows of my jacket matched my boots as well. As all of you who have read my previous OOTDs know, I’m a big fan of clothing with a little surprise in all of it. I love the patchwork elbows on my jacket, the laser cut doilie detailing on the boots, the crocheted stripe going down the side of the sweats, and the industrial stud embellishment on the collar of my t-shirt. Clothes with that extra little pop can turn a potentially not so cute outfit (like my college kid look yesterday!) into a stylish comfy cozy look instead. All together my outfit probably cost me $100 or so. If you like the Aerie sweats I have on, you can go to http://www.aerie.com and purchase a pair of your own, as they are brand new! They have a bunch of different colors as well, including heather grey, navy, teal, tan, and wine. I liked my charcoal grey pair so much that I got it in the wine color too! AND I got them for buy one get one half off – you guys know how much I love a good bargain!

So there you have it – my mother approved and Sarah approved college kid OOTD. I turned comfort into cuteness and I’m very pleased with how it turned out. So pleased that I don’t even hate myself too much for wearing sweats to school! 😉

Last day of work!!!!!

Last day of work!!!!!

Well, today was the day. My final shift after a four year long career at PacSun! I started off as a mere sales associate in October of 2010, and ended as a full time assistant manager four years later. PacSun was my first job, and I’m so thankful that I had the opportunity to stay there as long as I did. I’ve made life long friends through the company, from my coworkers, to customers, to fellow employees in the mall. As sad as it was to finally leave, it was also a happy thing too. I’m finally going to go to college, and hopefully never have to work retail again. 😉 I’m extremely excited to see what my future holds outside of the company. I honestly feel like if I were to stay there any longer, college would be permanently put on the back burner. I am so proud of myself for being proactive in building a new future outside of my job. When you work at a place for so long, you almost feel stuck there. I was beginning to feel that way, and believe me, it wasn’t a good feeling at all. It felt amazing to take my future into my own hands, and decide what happens next. I’m so thrilled to start college at Tri-C in October, and am so ready to begin a new adventure! I’m forever grateful for everything that PacSun has done for me. From the time I was sixteen until now, I’ve had nothing but smiles and positive experiences. I don’t think that many people can say that about their jobs, so I feel very privileged to be able to say that about mine. In my featured image you can see a note that I wrote on one of our walls in the backroom. All of the employees who have left our PacSun family have wrote on that wall, and it was such a surreal experience to leave my mark on the Wall of Fame. Here’s my final PacFUN mirror pic selfie! It only felt right to take one 😉

OOTD! Ta da!!!

Soooo happy I got to break out a fun fall outfit of the day today!!! This outfit is one of my favorites because I’m wearing all of my favorites!! Here’s a breakdown of my clothes and where they’re from:
Jacket – PacSun, LA Hearts brand
Green sweater: American Eagle Outfitters
Coated skinny jeans: PacSun, Bullhead brand
Hat: PacSun, Gypsy Warrior
Boots: Macy’s, I.N.C.

If there’s one color I LOVE wearing, it’s dark green. It compliments my skin tone, hair color, and eyes to the T. There’s something so alluring to me about a fair skinned redhead in a nice deep green. It really makes a statement. The jeans I’m wearing are Old Faithful. I’ve had them for years, and I can’t bear to part with them…no matter how often the zipper falls down per day from so much wear and tear! The jacket I’m layering with is one of my favorite fall jackets. I purchased it last year, and still love it just as much to this day. The fun elbow patches are what really sold me, and I love the contrast between the colors of the dark khaki and charcoal gray. The boots I’m rocking today are a pair I’ve had for quite a while, but only recently started wearing frequently. Shame on me for that, because they really are gorgeous! They’re such a nice change from my usual beat up combat boots. (The sole of the shoe is completely peeling off….I’m going for the hobo chic look ;))). I thought my Gypsy Warrior hat was the perfect accessory to tie the outfit together. Variations of this outfit are gonna be my staple for fall. What looks do you guys plan on rockin this season? Comment me some ideas! -Sarah
