Hiii everyone! We are still not done swatching from the Huda Beauty Emerald Obsessions palette, so we are getting right back to it with a color that I am just not sure of. This shade was very much a case of it looking like one color in the package and applying as something totally different. Today, we will be talking about the eyeshadow on the middle left:
At first glance, I thought that this color was going to be a deep, forest green and I was pretty excited for it. But, unfortunately, it swatched as a shade of brown with some green undertones to it. Take a closer look and you’ll see what I mean:
^^^ The first heart is the eyeshadow wet and the second one is when it’s dry.
As pretty as this palette is, the colors are definitely worth taking a better look into before you buy it, because you might be left feeling a bit disappointed. Almost every shade that I’ve swatched seems to stray from the color that you’re initially seeing and that’s certainly off putting if you’re spending money and expecting something completely different.
I had high hopes for this color originally, because I love shades of green. But, I also do like brown eyeshadow, too. Not this shade, though. I like strictly brown hues when it comes to eye makeup, because brown with green undertones just makes for a swampy color and it is so unappealing to me. In the words of the title of this post, this shade is questionable at best and I don’t plan on using it.
What is your favorite shade of eyeshadow to wear? What is a color that you avoid when it comes to makeup? I want to hear from all of you, so leave me a comment and let’s chat! Much love. -Sarah

The shades look a lot darker when you swatch them, such a pity…

Right?! They all look so dull and blah, it’s kind of misleading

I like blue but I avoid it. For some reason ALL blue hue eyeshadows stain my skin. Do you have this problem?

I don’t – I actually never use blue on my eyes because when I do a red lip the look is a bit much lol do you put on a primer before the color? That might help?

Hmmm…. I should get a primer for eyes. Good thinking!

I don’t know, this could work blended out with some golden toned eyeshadows…. maybe. Lol
Crazy the difference between what you see and what you get.

Right?? I was so excited about this palette, but almost all of the colors look so different on that it’s not even worth purchasing it. I actually tried out one of the colors earlier in the week and have a review of that coming up so keep your eyes peeled – long story short it was a hot mess!

The whole brand is a meh, I think some of their eyeshadows made in China. I will go for Dior or YSL for eyeshadows that are excellent quality.
